12 TASTES OF INDONESIA 1. Indonesian Satay Indonesian satay is either grilled or barbecued meet of skewed chicken, beef, pork, and other meats. These juicy skewers are usually served with rice cakes and peanut sauce. 2. Nasi Goreng Nasi Goreng, the country’s national 3 4 dish, is the Indonesia’s fried rice. Aside from rice, the usual ingredients are spices, egg, some pieces of meat, and vegetables. 3. Beef Rendang Rendang is a meat dish known for its slow-cooking procedure and explosive flavor. With meats being braised in coconut milk and spices, this dish is somehow a beef curry with less liquid. 4. Gado-Gado Gado-Gado is the Indonesian vegetable salad containing vegetables like beans, potatoes and 5 6 spinach. This is also often served with tofu, thick spicy peanut sauce, hard boiled eggs. 5. Nasi Rawon Rawon is a black beef soup with tender beef cuts and various spices, such as the keluak nut. This dish is best enjoyed with rice and delicious garnished. 6. Pempek Pempek is a traditional fish cake delicacy made of ground fish meat and tapioca. This is best served with sliced cucumbers, yellow noodles and rice. 12
