KSB Spotlight - December 2022 19 Gender Diversity at KSB KSB is actively contributing towards achieving the United Nations’ 17 sus- tainable development goals, one of which is achieving gender equality. There is strong evidence that diverse teams work more successfully. In recognition of this, KSB is committed to improving diversity within the company and has set itself the target of increasing the proportion of women in leadership positions to at least 20 percent latest by 2025. Currently only 13% of management positions worldwide are held by wom- en, only 7% in region MEA-R. Naturally, this also implies raising the number of women throughout the company worldwide, irrespective of management or staff. In region MEA-R there are companies ranging from 0% women up to 50%. To support KSB in these ambitions, a number of measures have been defined. During 2021 female colleagues from different departments and loca- tions participated in a pilot training course to un- derstand the differences between men and wom- en in a working environment. This seminar was a revelation and most participants came to the conclusion a global women’s network would be valuable for KSB.
