English can be defined as the operational language on board the ship. It is very important to master the English language in the maritime industry. English competency is a vital communication tool for someone when working on a ship. Especially if you have to sail using foreign ships. In addition to the scope of work to abroad, at work, it is certain that there are many terms in sailing that use English. Therefore it is quite important for seafarers to have the ability to speak English.

Mastering English for seafarers is an obligation, if language skills are not mastered properly, miscommunication can occur in receiving orders so that in carrying out tasks it can result in various risks, especially those related to safety in shipping. Communication using English occurs without stopping, whether on ships, ports, straits, ports in and out of ports, waterways or sea routes.

Cost Disbursement is the overall cost of the ship while at the port, in the form of ship operational costs and agency costs or wages for agency companies that have handled the ship during its period at the port. Port Charges fees consist of: Harbor Dues, Quay/ Berthd Dues, Tuggage Dues, Pilot Dues , Light Dues, VTS Fees, and government taxes. CST agency costs consist of: Agency costs, clearance in and out, seacom entry permits, and additional costs for crew changes, crew accidents, etc.

No doubt, we are a maritime country. We are an archipelagic country that has many seas. The life of our ancestors was from the sea. Until now, the sea is still one of our mainstays. It will be very unfortunate if later our seas are controlled by other countries, by foreign seafarers, and by foreign companies. By having maximum English language skills, we can be sure that our sailors can control the oceans, even to the ends of the earth.

For now, I'm learning a lot, exploring my potential, mentally and physically preparing to work in the maritime industry. Often I dig up information about work in the maritime world in order to add insight about the work that I will be pursuing later. I like to count and calculate such as calculating the estimated cost of the ship in the service course and calculating the cost of ships, goods and passengers (vessel service). The plan after graduating from the marine transportation management department at the Yogyakarta Maritime High School, I want to continue my studies at the undergraduate level if there are no obstacles. I'm thinking about becoming a shipping agency working at PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) / Pelindo in Jakarta.
