SPARTANS ON THE ROAD BAND HAWAII TRIP The Damien Spartan Regiment traveled to Hawaii recently to take part in a musical tour across the islands. The band took part in the first Damien visit & exchange concert at Damien Memorial School in Honolulu. Both bands performed for each other in front of the school. It was an amazing opportunity for our students to meet and perform for their brothers and sisters from Hawaii. Highlights from the trip also include marching down the streets of Waikiki Beach at the Salute to Youth Parade, as well as the jazz band being the final performance of the night at the Hawaii Invitational awards ceremony.

SAVE THE DATE DEAR DAMIEN COMMUNITY FINAL CALL AND GOLFERS, SIGN UP My name is Matt Bechtel. I graduated from Damien in 1992 and have been back as the head football coach since 2019. I NOW! also am assistant director of marketing & outreach and now the director of the 28th Annual Damien High School Athletic Golf Tournament. This year’s golf tournament is going to be very different from any before it. The day will begin at 8:00am with an Early Bird Breakfast & Bloody Mary bar as well as a complete outfitting of Travis Mathew gear from their truck. There will be raffles, prizes, and contests throughout the day. At the request of many Spartan alums, we will have a 10am shotgun start with 144 golfers, giving evyerone a chance to hang out before and after golf. The In-N-Out truck will be serving lunch. We will have beer and cigar vendors set up on the course. There will be music and a DJ as well as an emcee who will keep the energy rolling. Once golf ends, there will be an hour long, hosted cocktail bar as we prepare for our grilled buffet dinner and auction all happening in the Red Hill Country Club banquet room! You are not going to want to miss this year’s tournament. The cost of golf has gone from $250 per golfer to $625. That fee includes all your meals, $150 worth of Travis Mathew apparel that you choose, all your drinks and beverages, a round of ball at a very pristine course, a luxurious golf cart with GPS, and most importantly the ability to connect with fellow alumni before and after your round of golf while making a difference for our student-athletes. Please know that the increases we made are because of 2 major factors. The first being the inflation that everyone is feeling and the second is because our #1 goal is to create a 1st Class experience that I truly feel every Damien alum and all supporters of Damien High School absolutely deserve. Seventy-five percent of our total student body population participate in at least one of our 16 sports programs. We have hundreds of Spartans that participate in multiple sports. We are proud to say that Damien is both a great school academ- ically as well as athletically! Please come out and support this year’s tournament as our student-athletes are counting on you! If you are not a golfer or if you cannot attend you can still participate by using the link below to donate to the event and/or bid on auction items by clicking on the link below. As a first time director of this important fundraising event, I humbly ask you to participate or donate at any level that works for you! Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. GOD BLESS, MATT BECHTEL ‘92 TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR | HEAD FOOTBALL COACH ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & OUTREACH
