FEBRUARY 2022 DPS News February has been a busy, snowy month. Besides dealing with snowstorms, we have been working on getting many projects out to bid (see list on next page). Here are some other notable happenings throughout the past month: • MDOT held a kickoff design meeting for the Rochester Rd reconstruction project targeted for 2024 between Avon & Clinton River and Paint Creek & Tienken. • We received notification of an APWA Award for Auburn Road Reconstruction - Quality of Life $5 Million to $25 Million, this project will also be competing in the APWA National Award competition • Received an award from the Michigan Concrete Association's Michigan Awards of Excellence for Hamlin Road between Crooks and Adams. • Paul S has been working with DTE to convert al of our street lighting to LED. In an effort to offset pricing Paul reached out to EGLE for a grant opportunity.We are eligible for a $25,000 grant. If awarded this grant, our return on investment will be less than 2 years. Happy Engineers Week to all of our Engineering Employees Two big SNOW events in February Feb 2nd - 4th - Approximately 6 inches of snow Feb 17th -18th - 1,058 miles plowed in 4 hours

More DPS Information From Tienken & Clear Creek The City has Rochester installed 5 Community Rectangular Schools: A special note of gratitude goes to the Rapid City of Rochester Hills. Apparently eating is a big deal at the DPS Garage: Congrats to the Big Winner of the Chili Cook-off PAUL DAVIS with his award-winning-secret-recipe Chili Thanks to Chris, Karina and Lori for serving the seven amazing chili entries to the Crew! After the Big Snow storm in early February, a much deserved pizza lunch for the snow fighters. Thanks for the pizza, Allan! Nick making pancakes for the Fleet crew the morning of another big storm.Thanks, Nick!

GETTING THE JOB DONE GLWA Testing Rigs Last month we featured these rigs being delivered.They are all now installed on the 2nd floor of the garage and are just waiting for a few tweaks and then the water will be turned on. Check them out when you have time. The drainage issue at Pine Trace Golf Course has been repaired. Contractors Avon & Dequindre Project continue to work through the winter and recently poured the bridge abutment wall on the east side.
