Breast Cancer AwarenessS hondia McFadden-Sabari was diagnosed with Breast Cancer four years ago and has been sharing her testimony of survival ever since. Leading Bold and Breastless, Incorporated, a 501(c)(3) organization, the survivor lives her organization’s mantra as she exudes confidence and pride after having a bilateral mascetomy. “I started sharing my testimony about a week after I had my mastectomy,” said the survivor. “It felt like a love story because there is so much around my testimony that confirms that God is love and that He loves me. I knew I had to share it.” With hopes of encouraging and educating, the military wife and mother of two travels to hospitals, hospice care facilities, educational institutions and health fairs all over the country sharing her story and delivering a positive message to those affected by Breast Cancer. “I want to encourage people not to let what they are going through to get the best of them. We all have challenging moments in our lives. It is up to us how we get through them. We have got to do what we know is right based on our faith,” said Shondia with a positive tone. Allowing faith to lead her at the age of 36, Shondia McFadden-Sabari felt compelled to have a mammogram although she did not have any lumps, discomfort or symptoms to suggest Breast Cancer. Discovering cancer in both breasts, the South Carolina native is confident that early detection played a large role in saving her life. “Early detection is so important. A lot of women don’t want to get mammograms because they just don’t want to know. The suspense of waiting for the result is nerve-racking,” said McFadden-Sabari. “I’ll tell you what, it is better to have those nerve-racking experiences or moments, waiting to hear that something can be done than waiting too long when possibly nothing can be done.” For more details on Shondia McFadden-Sabari’s journey, facts about Breast Cancer and much more visit boldandbreastless.com.
