Founder's Day 'Education is the birth of each and every individual'. Carrying this responsibility of spreading the light of Education, Dr.Virendra Swarup Educational Foundation has been working since many years. This was the dream of the founder of our institution, Dr. Virendra Swarup. He was an eminent educationist and the former Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council. Every year we celebrate his birth anniversary on 25th July as Founder's Day. This year also we celebrated Founder's Day with great devotion and enthusiasm.The ceremony started with the lighting of the lamp and floral tribute to Dr. Virendra Swarup.We paid homage and gratitude to him. Our Principal Ma'am addressed all present and guided us to carry forward our duties and responsibilities. All of us took the pledge to walk on the path shown by the Founder of our institution. 56

Investiture Ceremony (2019-20) A team is always required to transform endeavours into reality. We have a dream of smooth functioning of our institution. To inculcate the instinct of holding the responsibilities among our students ,Prefectorial body is appointed every year.The members of the prefectorial body were pinned up with badges and sashes by our Principal Ma'am during the Investiture Ceremony . 'Earth Day' \"The Earth does not belong to us, we belong to the Earth.\" - Chief Seattle. Dr. V. S. E. C. Panki celebrated the Earth Day on 22nd April, 2019. The special day celebration began with the special assembly by the students of class IV. Our Principal Ma'am motivated everyone to be a part of conservation of the Mother Earth. The Students of class III to VI planted saplings all around the school ground.The entire event helped in making students more conscious about environmental betterment. 59

Edubition \"Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.\" - Albert Einstein On 3rd August ,2019 an educational activity, EDUBITION, was organised to showcase the creativity and imaginative side of our students. The students exhibited their talents through various Models (Working and Non- Working) and Projects in the fields of Science, Social Studies and English. The delicious dishes prepared by the students of Cooking Activity (Fire and Non- Fire Activity) were enjoyed and much appreciated by the parents. Through their wonderful Art, Craft and Calligraphy, the students proved that they excel in every field of education. The parents appreciated the students' efforts which in turn motivated them to do wonders again. 61

Independence Day Independence Day is a red letter day in the calendar for our country. Each year, we celebrate 15th of August with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. On the 73rd Independence day, Team Ragaans gave a felicitous performance in the school auditorium. The flag hoisting performance filled the ambience with patriotism. Respected Principal ma’am not only acknowledged but also felicitated the team to encourage them. The school choir also sang a patriotic song and prepended the programme. 62

Teachers' Day \"Without teachers, life would have no class.\" On 5th of September every year we celebrate the birth anniversary of the great teacher Dr.Sarvepalli Radha krishnan as Teachers' Day. This day is celebrated to express gratitude to all the great teachers who guide and show all the path of righteousness and contribute in building a great nation. This year the ceremony began with a special assembly by the little ones of class III where they were dressed up like their teachers. Thereafter a short programme was put up by the students of class XII. At the end of the programme our honourable Principal Ma'am, on behalf of all the teachers, thanked the students for the love and honour which they had shown. 66

Gandhi Jayanti “If I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning\". ~ Mahatma Gandhi The aforesaid line by our beloved Bapu unceasingly stimulates us to incessantly strive for better. To celebrate the occasion of Gandhi ji’s birthday, students of class VIII organised the morning assembly wherein they enumerated the principles of Bapu and the sacrifices he made for his motherland. Lal Bahadur Shastri ji was also fondly remembered on this day as it was his birth anniversary too. Later during the day, an activity, ‘Letter To Bapu' was organised in the classes. The students had written their ingenious ideas on how to maintain cleanliness and on water conservation. All of their recommendations aimed at achieving Bapu’s dream of the Clean India. 68

National Unity Day We celebrate the National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) on 31st October to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh bhai Patel-a freedom fighter,leader,distinguished politician and the ‘Iron Man of India’. Sardar Patel played a major role in the integration of India and to acknowledge his efforts in uniting the nation, India celebrates the National Unity Day.This year we celebrated the National Unity Day as a token of respect and gratitude to Sardar Vallabh bhai Patel through Slogans, Speech, Pledge,Rally and a Skit put up by the teachers. 70

Children's Day \"Children are the world's most valuable resource and its best hope for the future\" - John.F.Kennedy November 14th, is celebrated as Children's Day in our country and the occasion commemorates the birth anniversary of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. All the students celebrated this day dedicated especially to them with great fervour. The teachers entertained the students by singing and dancing for them.Various Games Stalls were put up for the children in the school premises. 72

Republic Day \"Let us make a pledge to our Motherland that we will do everything we can to rid it of all the evils.\" On 26th January, 2020 along with the entire nation Dr. V.S.E.C. Panki also celebrated the 70th Republic Day of India with great honour and pride. After the flag hoisting by our honourable Principal Ma'am, a programme was organised to honour the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect.The event concluded with the speech by our Principal Ma'am where she spoke with all fervour of patriotism and the role of teachers in building the nation. 73

Social Science Exhibition With great endeavour and diligence our school organised a Social Science Exhibition,‘The Gateway of India' on 8th Feb, 2020 manifesting cultural heritage of different states of India.The objective was to emphasize the hidden flair and enhance their skills on ingenuity and innovation. Students showcased all the various geographical areas ,their historical importance,culture,dress,cuisine etc. thus exploring the heart of India. 73

SPIC MACAY (SITAR RECITAL) On 22 April,2019, we had the privilege to welcome the sitar maestro Sri Shakir Parvez Khan. He is one of the most promising young exponents of the legendary Etawah gharana. We were all awestruck to witness his performance on the sitar. He played many ragas with his companion Sri Unmesh Banerjee alongside. Sri Shakir ji addressed the students telling them about the importance of classical music. He also indulged in a question-answer round with the students to answer their queries. 80

'SPIC MACAY(PATTACHITRA)' A week-long workshop began on 20 May,2019 with the objective of fostering students’ interest in ‘Pattachitra’. The workshop was conducted by SPIC MACAY. Pattachitra is a traditional cloth based scroll painting popular in Odisha and West Bengal. This artform is known for its intricate details as well as mythological narratives and folktales depicted through it. 41 of our students attended the workshop and were trained by the master craftsman, Shri Purnachandra Moharana himself. The skilled artist specialises in Pattachitra, Silk painting, Tassar painting, Palm leaf etching, wooden toys and door paintings. It was an enriching experience for our students to learn from him. 81

'SPIC MACAY (MOHAN VEENA)' Vishwa Mohan Bhatt is an Indian classical music instrumentalist who plays the Mohan Veena. He is best known for his Grammy Award winning album ‘A Meeting By The River’.Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt has been conferred the Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri as well as many other honours, besides Music Natak Academy, Music Scientist, National Tansen Award, Tantric Emperor,Rajasthan Ratna and Global Music Award twice. The prestigious St. Petersburg University has given him the honorary degree.Pt.Vishwa Mohan Bhatt along with the tabla players Mr. Himanshu Mohant and Mr. Rishi Shanker Upadhayay visited our school on 1 November,2019. The Mohan Veena recital was witnessed by the students of Classes VIII to XI.It was an enthralling experience for all. 82

'BOOK FAIR' Book Fairs promote the habit of reading among all. The Scholastic Book Fair was organized in our school to make the students interested in reading books. The Book Fair offered them a wide range of books. The books were categorized on the basis of age and genre. So, it became easy for the students to find suitable books for themselves. The Scholastic Book Fair made our school auditorium alive with different racks holding brightly coloured illustrative books. The wide range of the story books, art and craft activity books and scientific research books were the main attraction of the students. They walked out of the auditorium carrying their favourite books in their hands and a smile on their faces. 9

'Global Art Exhibition ' Gurukul Art Gallery showcased landscape knife paintings in its exhibition called ‘Kritika’. Artist Mohit Singh, the clay modelling instructor of our school, through his paintings showed the mesmerizing landscapes of different states. The exhibition was inaugurated by his father Mr. K. Singh. The event was attended by Prof. Abhay Dwivedi, Dr. Brajesh Katiyar, Dr. Hriday Gupta, Dr. Kalpana Gupta, Dr. Madhu Asthana and many other veteran artists. The students of our school were accompanied by the art teacher to the exhibition. They were introduced to new techniques of paintings. 9
