ABOUT CET College of engineering, Trivandrum, India, popularly known as CET, has come a long way since its inception in 1939 by the maharaja, the ruler of Travancore state. With a current strength of more than 4000 students, highly qualified engineering faculty, advanced laboratories, workshops and research centres, CET has become a sought after technical institution in the country for engineering studies. Its library with linkages to international knowledge resource centres acts as the conduit for knowledge sharing. The college is affiliated to the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (APJAKTU) and the programs are The Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) and Centre for Industrial Training and Sponsored Research (ITC & SR) of the college reinforces and updates the trends and contributes to the upkeep of standards in all fields of specializations through training, consultancy and sponsored research. Most of the Departments in CET have established academic/industry linkages with other academic institutions, R&D centres and industry. CET provides a healthy platform for courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Management, Basic Sciences, Applied Sciences, Engineering and various emerging disciplines. Eight undergraduate programmes and Twenty Seven post graduate programmes are presently offered in CET. About 1500 students are admitted every year for the undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes in CET. The college is ranked as 95 in the country by NIRF in 2021.
