NEWS UPDATE SPRING EDITION Welcome to the Spring edition of our newsletter Welcome to the Spring edition of our newsletter. It has been a busy start to the new year for us all here at Kazzoo. We have welcomed new support clients, celebrated birthdays (well mine anyway) and been putting plans into place for our charity events for this year, as well as planning for a very special year next year! Did you know we celebrate 20 years of Kazzoo next year? Where did that time go? Charity Events Easter Eggs Once again, Kazzoo has worked alongside our friends at Cross Productions, to provide Easter eggs for those who may not normally receive one. We say it every year but no-one should be without an egg at Easter! We delivered approx. 2000 eggs to around 10 local charities and, as always, they were gratefully received. A huge thank you to everyone that donated this year. Golf Day for Hope Against Cancer We enjoyed our first ever Golf Day so much last year, we decided to do it again! This year, the event will take place on Friday, 1 July at Birstall Golf Club, a little closer to home for most of us. Teams of 4 are available at a cost of £240. This includes refreshments and breakfast bap on arrival and sandwiches/fries on your return to the clubhouse after play. Single players also welcome and we will match you up with a team. We are also looking for sponsors for this event, so if you think you can help, again, please talk to Jo. You can sponsor a hole, a prize, the food, whatever you wish. Charity Events Abseil Challenge – 11 June for Alex’s Wish On Saturday, 11 June, the whole Kazzoo team will be taking part in an abseil challenge on behalf of an amazing local charity, Alex’s Wish. The National Lift Tower in Northampton is 418 feet high and is the tallest permanent abseil tower in the world! Founder of Alex’s Wish, Emma Hallam (Alex’s Mum), will also be taking part too. On Sunday, 28 August myself, along with around 20 others will be making our way to the summit of Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in Scotland – there seems to be a theme going here for us wanting to scale the tallest things!!! This one is 1,345m high! This one is a joint fundraiser for Menphys (https://www.menphys.org.uk) and Lamp (https://www.lampadvocacy.co.uk). We are hoping to raise at least £5,000 between us, to be split equally between the charities. Awards I was over the moon last week when I won the Entrepreneur For Good award at the Real Entrepreneur Awards. For once I was absolutely speechless!! This means so much to me and the team as we love being able to give back to the community and organise events throughout the year for various local charities. I was up against some serious competition and would like to congratulate all of the finalists. Lots of people doing amazing things. BrightER Futures We have been really happy to be support a student through the BrightER Futures Programme which is run by ER Recruitment and De Montfort University, over the last couple of months. The programme helps students studying a variety of courses, to help to get them ‘work ready’. The main purpose behind it being that so many students study at our local Universities and achieve great grades, but are unaware of the opportunities and job prospects in Leicester and so move further afield – so we want to retain top talent! Alongside their placement, they attend webinars to educate the students on things in business that aren’t necessarily covered in the typical university course. We have hosted a student, Faaizah, who is currently studying for a Computer Science Degree. She is hoping to pursue a career in cyber security which we all know is a really important factor these days.  We have tried to show her a little more in depth of how an IT business works, both in regards of support and the admin and finance sides. We have also introduced her to the world of business networking, another area, in which students do not get much experience but is essential in the world of business. She attended Alex’s Wish Ethical Business Club a couple of weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Partnerships A huge thank you to Axiom Retail who recently donated a PC to our client, Wesley Hall Community Centre. It was gratefully received.
