Barbie lives with her father on a far-off planet called Para-Den. Together they look after the planet’s animals. Barbie is a great hoverboarder – and she also has a special skill … if she focuses and listens to the music around her, she can make objects move with her mind!One day Barbie receives a letter from King Constantine asking her to join him on a mission to save the stars, which are starting to disappear. Barbie is scared to leave Para-Den and her father, but she thinks that her mother would have wanted her to go.5 STORieS STORieS STORieS STORieS STORieS

Barbie arrives on the planet Oppa-Irri and meets her fellow recruits. Twins Kareena and Sheena can change colours and manipulate gravity. Sal-Lee is a hoverboarding champion. And Prince Leo is the fastest pilot in the galaxy. They all become friends. At their welcome party, Barbie uses her skills to change the music to something more upbeat. She and her friends dance and have fun, but King Constantine is not impressed. The next day King Constantine explains their mission. A prophecy states that someone is destined to get the stars to dance again. if they fail, the stars could disappear forever! The king’s plan is to use a big machine called a Stato-Tron to shock the stars, jolting them into moving again. Barbie doesn’t like the sound of this, but is too scared to say so.6 STORieS STORieS STORieS STORieS STORieS

The king is very angry. He tells Barbie he needed the Starlian to help on their mission – only a Starlian can guide them to the centre of the galaxy and protect them from magnetic storms. Barbie is upset – she didn’t know that when she freed the Starlian. King constantine tells her she’s no longer on the team. Barbie calls her dad and after speaking to him she knows what she must do …After some training, the king sends the team to capture a creature called a Starlian and bring it back to him. When they find the creature, Barbie uses music to calm it and the team traps it. But Barbie feels bad for the Starlian and releases it.7 STORieS STORieS STORieS STORieS STORieS S

The next day Barbie finds a Starlian and gets it to come back to the palace with her. King constantine lets Barbie back on the team and they head off to find the centre of the galaxy, with the Starlian protecting them from some terrible, scary storms. STORieS STORieS STORieS STORieS STORieS8

9 STORieS STORieS STORieS STORieS STORieS SWhen they arrive, the team works together to get past some giant, prickly orbs. They make their way into a deep cavern, where a bright star – the heart of the galaxy – is. King constantine uses the Stato-Tron to shock the star, but it doesn’t work! The stars don’t start to dance – in fact they start to fade and fall.

Suddenly Barbie hears something ... her mother’s locket, which she wears around her neck, is singing! Barbie starts to sing too, and her friends join her. Soon, the stars start to dance! The energy from it causes Barbie to glow and hover and then, in a flash of light, the stars burst out of the cavern and into the skies. They go back to their orbits. Back at the palace, Barbie’s dad joins her at the celebratory ball. He is very proud of her – and so is King Constantine, who admits he was wrong about Barbie and rewards her with a new title: Princess Starlight!
