vetyltodif 70ants to i the TOozld Class Officers and Student Council Today Wyomissing, tomorrow the world. Our future r promises to be bright under the leadership these ambitious teens. Senior and Junior Class Officers and Advisors Mr. Flannery and Ms. Herb organized and ran the second annual Touchdown Cafe after this year’s Homecoming game. This fund raiser provided an opportunity for elated fans to converge and have a good time. Just as last year, it went off without a hitch and was a huge success. All the Class Officers, including the newly included Freshmen, did a spectacularjob making this year’s Spirit Games memorable and fun. Student Council continued their tradition of running fund raisers to better the community such as selling daffodils for the American Cancer Society. All these organizations have provided their members with valuable leadership experiences that will help them to, someday, rule the world. > J, , k. AI' Senior Class Officers: Phil Magistro ■ rr< ■! THE Junior Classical League This ROMANTICS year the Wyo JCL made every effort to be Romantic. JCL’ers held their annual initiation and scavenger hunt, showed their softer Roman side with pumpkin carving and Holiday caroling for Highlands Residents, and participated in the Wyo World Cup, representing Italy. New this year, JCL members gathered for a Progressive Roman banquet, and although the ancient Romans choice of foods was interesting, JCL members still had a great time and went home full. Culture Club True to their name, the Culture Club’s numerous trips enhanced thier multicultural understanding. This year, advisors Ms. Long and Mrs. Kreps organized some fantastic trips. First, the club went to the Allentown Civic Theatre to see “The Who’s Tommy” and then to the Allentown Museum ofArt to admire local artist’s work. After that exciting trip, the club boarded their Beiber buses again and went to hear the Philadelphia Orchestra perform the premiere of “One Heart Beating” by Hannibal, after which they explored the culture of Philadelphia. The next stop for the Culture Club was New York City where they saw “Rigoletto” performed at the Metropolitan Opera. After the breath-taking performance, Culture Club students discovered the diversity of Greenwich Village. Finally, the club traveled to Annapolis where they received a tour from alumnus Andy Wolfrum after which they visited our nation’s capital. Going beyond the walls of Wyomissing has proved to be a valuable educational experience for the Culture Club. International Student Committee ISC students may not go on extensive trips, but they certainly do experience different cultures. Students in ISC introduce foreign exchange students of Wyomissing to the its social circle. This year, Martin Reckmann from Germany, Pascal Schumacher from Switzerland, and Christelle Janicki from France got a taste of Wyomissing life through ISC activities such as an annual hayride, laser tag, movie night, trip to a Reading Phillies game, and a camping trip at the end of the year. Thanks to the members of the ISC and advisor Mr. Babb, Martin, Pascal, and Christelle’s trip to America will be more memorable. Model UN Club Newly formed this year, the Model Un Club gives students a chance to learn about the political culture of different countries. At several conferences throughout the year, students debate current issues as delegates ofother countries. The conferences give members the opportunity to mingle with students from across the state and are held in schools and colleges throughout the area. Advised by Ms. Fecho and Mrs. Kreps, this club promises to give students with an interest in world politics a great insight into that field. •.M' * •Ky J] Model UN Club: Back Row: Alicia Godlove, Elizabeth Greenwood Front Row: lan Jacobi.
