PIONEER PANTHER MARCHING BANDThe Pioneer Panther Marching Band is proud to present for your entertainment their2016 Field Band Show – “Colors!” by Randall D. Standridge.  The band takes the field with “Red!” The primary color Red – the color of courage, the color of danger, and the color of fire – the band musically paints the image of thecourageous Latin matador donning his red cape to enter the stadium ring against themighty bull.  The band then moves from hot Latin to hot Blues with the primary color “Blue!” TheBlues – uniquely American, hot and cool simultaneously – the “Blue!” painting is set ina Blues club, with a cool blues band on the stage performing late into a hot andsteamy New Orleans night.  From the night of the blues, the band moves into the warmth of the sun with theprimary color “Yellow!” Musically upbeat and as unique as it’s color namesake, the“Yellow!’ painting is optimistic and energetic – with our featured drumline providing theenergy!  Finally, an artist combines all of the primary colors of Red, Blue and Yellow to makethe other Colors!, and so does the band – after a recap of each color, the bandcombines the primaries for a musical and visual surprise ending that links all of ourColors!  So we invite you to sit back as we paint for you a musical portrait of “Colors!”Drum Major: Megan SonnerDirector: April WoolleyAssistant Director: Jared BurchVisual Design: Kellianne RoesslerColor Guard: Carolyn KosinskiVisual and Music Tech: Scott O’DellPercussion: Cam Grifith, Zach Weideman, Jim Duska A special thanks to all of the boosters and parents for all of your support. West Seneca Marching BandIce – by Gary P. GilroyFrom a watery and fluid start the band becomes solidified into blocks of ICE until the freezing process leads to a final halt and the endof part one. The geometric beauty of ice crystals, growing exponentially and sculpting breathtaking formations is portrayed throughdark, persistent driven mallet effects in the middle portion, before the heat intensifies, liquefying to the end in a flood of energy! I. Freezing II. Crystals III. MeltingThe West Seneca Marching Band is the marching-music representative of the West Seneca Central Schools music program. Lancaster High School Marching Band THE MARCHING LEGENDS OF LANCASTER, NEW YORK Director Richard Goss The Lancaster High School Marching Band is proud to premiere our 2016 show, Hope Is…. Assistant Director Jacob Seymour This show is based on the Emily Dickinson poem, Hope is The Thing With Feathers, with Associate Director Jon Gesicki music composed by Richard Goss and Steve Martin. Visual Director Tom Roberts Hope Is… travels inside the mind of a young woman who is reading the poem for the first Staff: Susan Bratek (Field Visual) time. As each stanza plays out in the show, she delves deeper into the meaning of the text Tom Power (Battery & Percussion Coordinator) she has read. Sarah Ptak (Front Ensemble Instructor), Joann Piasecki (Student Accounts), Our pre-show presents the poem and sets the mood for the show. The first movement, Stacy Zawadzki-Janusz (Movement & Dance) A Hopeful Soul, creates the feeling of youthful exuberance as our vocalist/actress reflects Kathy Batt (Color Guard Equipment) on the poem's first stanza. In the second movement, Storms of Despair, the Gabrielle Moore (Woodwinds) vocalist/actress is drawn away from the stage (the Star of Hope). She gets caught in a Matt Buehler (Sound Technician) conflict between good (trumpet soloist) versus evil (trombone soloist) and, by this movement's conclusion, feels exhausted and downtrodden. As the storm subsides, she is Composer/Arranger: able to recall the poem's third stanza, and rebuilds a sense of hope as she sings the Richard Goss, Steve Martin, beautiful ballad, Hope Prevails. The final movement, Hope Takes Flight, features an Aaron Hines & Dan Bryan augmentation of the main tune, combined with an ascending countermelody. The show concludes with our vocalist reflecting on the inspiration she has gained, as she sends that Drill Design: hope out to the world. Joe Petruzzi Hope Is…. “There is more to a boy than what his mother sees. There is more to a boy than what his father dreams. Inside every boy lies a heart that beats. And sometimes it screams, refusing to take defeat. And sometimes his father’s dreams aren’t big enough, and sometimes his mother’s vision isn’t long enough. And sometimes the boy has to dream his own dreams and break through the clouds with his own sunbeams.” – Ben Behunin Anthony, we couldn’t be more proud of you!
