WWW.BRAVEHEARTSNI.COM/DONATE Aims - BraveheartsNI aim is to support teenagers and young adults in Northern Ireland with congenital heart disease and support their families providing pastoral and welfare support. Objectives - BraveheartsNI will build a network of support for CHD patients in NI with responsibility being assumed by the Bravehearts themselves. All work through BraveheartsNI will be completed on a volunteer basis with all funds raised or donated being used directly where needed within NI. The Bravehearts themselves will gain strength and friendship by working alongside each other supporting and encouraging themselves and others in their efforts to reach other Bravehearts and their families. This will make huge strides in combating isolation within this small demographic group and will give Bravehearts a purpose that they can control and develop. Remaining a volunteer patient led charity is of the utmost importance to us. We have already built an extremely strong ethos and have been rewarded for this by support and donations.
EDITOR'S NOTE Hi, another week has gone and we begin the run up to Christmas, or is it too early to even mention the word. It was great news this week to see Wrightbus, after all the turmoil of the last number of years, deliver a world first, as it always did, by the way of building and sending the first hydro-buses to Aberdeen in Scotland. Wrightbus was always renowned to a leader in the bus manufacturing world and after the issues Ballymena has had over the last course of recent times it is extremely heart warming and a proud moment for the town to be seen in the bright lights of positivity in the labour market as it always was. There was lots of happiness for many locals as Northern Ireland made their way to the final play off for the European championships next year. In doing so Steve Davis, captain and also Cullybackey native, finally broke Pat Jennings record for the most capped player for N. Ireland earning his 120th cap on a night that he will not forget. This Saturday sees the 80's records and albums sale day throughout the U.K. If you are a record player fan then get down to Ballymena's very own little gem, Fairhill Records, situated next door to Regents Taxis across from the Thomas St entrance to the Fairhill Shopping Centre. So from records being broke to records playing, Ballymena has it all this week hahahahaha. Sherman E Wright

COURTS NEWS THE FIGHT GOES ON Boxing manager Barry McGuigan today dismissed allegations that he kept money from Carl Frampton as \"ludicrous\". He told the High Court that his twin objectives were to ensure the Belfast fighter won a world title and earned as much as possible - and that he achieved both. Giving evidence in the legal battle between the pair, Mr McGuigan also described his former protege's current managerial agents as \"despicable\". Mr Frampton, a 33-year-old former two-weight world champion, is suing for alleged withheld earnings during their eight-year relationship. His case involves claims against Cyclone Promotions UK Ltd - of which Mr McGuigan was a director - over purse fees, broadcasting rights, ticket sales and merchandising. A counter lawsuit has been filed against the boxer, accusing him of breach of contact when he split from the company in 2017. Both men deny the respective allegations against him. On day ten of the case Mr McGuigan, himself a former world champion, set out how he negotiated million dollar purses and secured his former protege's dream to headline in Las Vegas. He told the court that his sons and Mr Frampton were \"like best mates\" while the family guided his career.\"They knew I wanted the very best for Carl; the best money, the best opportunities,\" he said. Their relationship ended after they came to Belfast for an ill-fated scheduled fight against Andres Gutierrez in July 2017. The contest was called off when the Mexican slipped and injured himself in the shower on the eve of the bout. The case goes on.

THE INSIDE SCOOP THE HOMELESS In N.Ireland there are people laying on the street, homeless. At the same time there are buildings, derelict, that could be used to stop this pandemic which witnessed the death of some 205 homeless people in Northern Ireland died in that 18 month period. This accounts for more than 25% of the 800 homeless deaths in the UK, figures gathered by the Bureau of Investigative Journalism during the same period show. It includes a 101-year-old woman and 25 others who were aged 80 and above. Almost half were based in the Belfast area. The findings form part of a major investigation into the scale of homelessness across the UK. Most of those who have died will not have been living on the streets, but were without settled accommodation. In Northern Ireland, the 205 deaths include: 125 males and 80 females; 26 people under the age of 30; 82 aged 65 and over; 87 based in the Belfast area, 24 in Derry and Strabane and 20 in the Newry, Mourne and Down region. The Housing Executive considers people living in temporary accommodation to be homeless, as well as rough sleepers. Surely from a Governmental point of view this is a failure of duty and also a case of negligence to therefore make proposals as to how this issue is going to be cleared up and made better for those who are homeless and rough sleeping due to no housing, or hostels being made available as we make our way into what looks like being a long wet winter, with a covid pandemic to add to what may be a sad time for many.
N.I COVID LATEST OVER 1000 NEW CASES IN NORTHERN IRELAND NI has recorded the highest daily total for the number of positive Covid-19 tests since the Department of Health rolled out its current testing model. There were 1,080 positive cases of Covid-19 in Northern Ireland recorded in the last 24 hours. Sixteen people are being treated in intensive care units across NI, with ten patients on ventilators. However, there were no further deaths recorded by the department in the past 24 hours. The number of individuals tested was 6,447 and brings the overall total number of positive cases in NI to 18,190. Stats: BBC NI

The incident is believed to have taken place at the Mace Store in Ballykeel on Saturday 3rd October. This offence took place when the area was in deep shock and a sad state of mourning as over the course of the recent days Ballykeel had suffered two horrendous deaths and this act was not helpful at all for the image of the area in question.

Jonathan Rea must wait until the final round of the World Superbike series to try and secure a sixth title in a row after he finished fourth behind winner Scott Redding in Race Two in France. Redding's victory meant Rea had to finish in the top three to tie up the championship but he remains very well placed to seal the crown in Estoril. Rea had won the first feature race on Saturday and Sunday's Superpole event. Englishman Redding trails Rea by 59 points with a maximum of 62 remaining. The Portugal circuit will host a round of the World Superbike Championship for the first time on 16-18 October.

THE WINNING POST HORSE RACING NEWS So the national hunt season is upon us. Yes it has been running since the end of july but it is only now, in the autumn, that the season starts to get serious. With races from Chepstow this weekend being what is known as \"The bottle opener\" meeting of the season, there are a number of grade b races on offer. Then the season really picks up as we get to have day to day NH meetings with the better racing taking place pon the Saturday. For example within a number of weeks the first meeting will take place at the mecca for NH racing, Cheltenham racecourse. Everything leads however to the first three day meeting and the first \"big\" race of the season being the old Mackeson, The Paddy Power Gold Cup over 2m5f. With a pot over £120k this race always attracts some of the best horses in training. Then you have the Betfair which is the first of the three triple crown races for the middle distance stayers at Haydock and then you also have the old Hennesy which is always a great festivity and has been won in the past by some of the greatest horses ever to grace national hunt racing. However, it is just great to see the national hunt begin in all seriousness and lets hope it maintains throughout the season, even though we have the issue of covid to deal with, but let us hope all will be fine. FOUR Horses To Look Out For this NH Season 1. Abracadabras - Gordon Elliott. 2 The Big Getaway - Willie Mullins 3. Santini - Nicky Henderson 4. Champ - Nicky Henderson
