210 173 About Our Ministries... — APPENDIX #3 — School Ministries (www.schoolministries.org) is the largest Christian ReleasedTime Bible Education organ- ization in the United States. We work as a member as- sociation for groups that currently are operating or want to start Released Time programs. ReleasedTime is a constitutionally legal way for public school students to study their faith devotionally during the school day. While most programs serve elementary and middle schools, states are starting to pass laws allowing Released Time to give credit for high school students. If you are interested in starting a Christian Released Time Bible Education program, we encourage you to order a“First Steps Kit”. This kit has a wide variety of resources that will encourage and educate you on how to start and maintain a quality Released Time program. You can find this and other materials on our resource page at: https://schoolministries.org/resources We also maintain a secular website for educators, media, and the general pub lic to learn more about Released Time which you can find at: www.relea sedtime.org. This site also has State-by-State information on the legalit of Released Time. “Do you love Me? Everyday Publications Inc. (EPI) was founded in 1964 by Dr. R. E. Harlow (co-founder of ...Feed my sheep.” Emmaus Bible College and Emmaus Correspondence School) and his wife, Gertrud. The (John 21:16) Harlows were missionaries in what is now the D. R. Congo, Africa. Due to war, the Harlows returned to Canada where they began to write books in Congo Swahili for the Church in the DRC. Their first title, Start of the Race, was a com- mentary on Genesis. It was also the“start”of EPI which, by God’s grace, has grown into a global ministry, now distributing books, Bibles, hymn books, and school courses. Both Dr. Harlow and Gertrud are in Heaven now, but the work of providing easy-to-un- derstand Christian literature continues. Since that first book, EPI has published more than 400 titles — in French, Portuguese, and Spanish, as well as English and Congo Swahili. We distribute books to over 80 countries around the world, supporting the works of local churches, Bible schools, prison ministries, and children’s ministries. EPI’s motto is taken from the words of the Lord Jesus, “Feed My sheep.” Just before Gertrud went to Heaven, she was asked,“What is one of the greatest needs in ministry today?”Her response was short and to the point:“Reach the children!”So it is with great delight that EPI has partnered with School Ministries in helping to reach today’s youth with the timeless, soul-saving, life-transforming message of the gospel. Be sure to visit www.everydaypublications.org to browse our variety of books ranging from doctrinal to expositional to devotional, addressing the needs of seasoned and new believers, men, women, and young people alike. Also, enjoy our media featuring our books and various other aspects of the ministry.
