The UAE Pilot Project will run for a year before other AA’s will be given the chance to roll out the enhanced IDLs on a voluntary basis. AAP’S IDP PROCESSING TIME CITED During the workshop, IDP issues such as the IDP processing times of the various FIA Region II clubs was discussed. AAP and AA Singapore were cited for being among the fastest clubs to process the IDP. Other clubs take 3 to 5 days while it only takes AAP about an hour. Several AA’s indicated that the lengthy processing period is due to the fact that the IDP they issue is handwritten and that they manually glue the applicant’s photo on the license. Pingal noted that “AA New Zealand and AA Australia took notice of our process, particularly how we only put the film patch on top of the details of the IDP holder and how we do not laminate the whole document which saves us a lot of time.” Participants at the June 22-23, 2017 FIA Region II International Documents Workshop in Singapore.6 AQ MAGAZINE
