Flashback Friday is a fitting theme for this evening’s auction as the History Center is embarking on a journey to move forward, where we will be able to remember and relive the past with great hope and look ahead with a strong vision for our future. The Art & Leisure Auction remains one of our largest fundraising events at the History Center. It financially supports our mission and future. LIVE AUCTION L1: Fly Fishing Rambo Run Experienced fishermen and newbies alike can enjoy time on the water with fly fishing expert, Rob Kinsley. This package for two includes lunch. Spend half a day at Rambo Run, a tributary to Muddy Creek in the Susquehanna River watershed. Alcohol, tax and gratuity are not included. Value $670 L5: “The Maine Meadow” by Les Jones “The Maine Meadow” is from a photograph Les took while lying down in a field by their farmhouse in Maine. The paper is Japanese high textured handmade paper uncut. The technique could be described as “reverse intaglio” which is an old pre-printing process. Captured is an image of a beautiful Maasai Kitten taken in Maasai Mara National Park in Kenya. Value $100 25

S63: “Cherry Lane Stylized” by Ophelia Chambliss Ophelia Chambliss of York seeks to use art as a storytelling vehicle to connect people. This piece is an acrylic painting on canvas and interprets Cherry Lane, a lively spot in downtown York City. Value $900 S64: Francis Marion Dyer paintings Set of two F.M. Dyer paintings. Dyer was a local artist active in York circa 1900. The paint- ings are a harbor scene at night with a full moon and a sail boat at dock. Donated by Michael Zeigler. Value $300 S65: “Architectural Heritage” by Beth Fowler Beth Fowler, an award winning local artist, created this unique view of the former grain mill near the York Fairgrounds. Value: $250 26

S66: “Bird in Hand Estate” by Clifford W. Satterthwaite Clifford W. Satterthwaite is an active artist and former Yorker known for his depictions of historical architecture. This print depicts a Bird-in-Hand estate in Lancaster County. Donated by Genevieve Ray. Value: $300 S67: “Waving the Flags” by Gail Hurwitz Gail Hurwitz, an award winning local artist, created this unique view , in pastels, of a band front. This colorful piece will brighten your home.
