PRE-TG cartridges are available in a wide range of sizes in order to meet the FILTERSneeds of our clients. They are available in a wide variety of filter media in order to ensure effective G2-G4performance in specific operational conditions, with 99.8% efficacy in all ca-ses, and capable of retaining particles of up to 0.5 microns. 2 PAINTINGS BOOTHSConstruction 3The filter media used for TG Cartridge production may be: PRODUCTS S: Synthetic filter media CONFOR K1: Synthetic and cellulose mixture M5-F9 F: Water-repellent micro fibreglass media SG-F9: Synthetic and fibreglass media 4 H: Hepa filter mediaThe uniform separations between filter media folds are maintained with the use of perimeter bands of melted adhe- EPA/HEPAsive that is applied heated to interior and exterior fold surfaces. This ensures constant form and distances between /ULPAthe folds, maintaining the original characteristics of the fold for long periods of time, while optimising the effectiveuse of the filter surface. The cartridges include inner and outer expanded galvanised metal covers or protections in 5order to guarantee the safety of the media, while maximizing both the filter surface and dust accumulation capacity.A thermoplastic seal is also made in order to prevent leakages between the galvanised covers at the ends of the HIGHfilter packet, resulting in a unified product. Adsortion and desodorization 0General Information INFORMA- TIONActivated charcoal, which is practically pure charcoal with an enormous porosity, is able to trap certain types ofmolecules in its walls due to a physiochemical phenomenon known as ‘adsorption’. In this process, the activated 1charcoal is the ‘adsorbent’ and the molecule retained is the ‘adsorbate’. In order to be effectively adsorbed into anactivated charcoal material, an adsorbate must have the following characteristics: PRE- (a) It must be able to fit inside the charcoal pores. FILTERS (b) The diameter of the molecule must not be less than 20% of the diameter of the majority of the activated charcoal pores. G2-G4 (c) It must have a molecular weight greater than 55. (d) Be non-polar or only slightly polar. 2Most organic compounds fulfil these requirements, which is why activated charcoal is used in gas and liquid purifi-cation processes, where the contaminants are organic molecules. PAINTINGS BOOTHSIn the case of gas purification, the possibility exists of subjecting the charcoal to a treatment that allows it to re-tain molecules that do not fulfil these characteristics (a), (b) and (c), as in the case of mineral acids (hydrochloric, 3sulphuric, nitric, phosphoric, etc.), ammonia, low-molecular weight amines, formaldehyde, isopropyl alcohol, mer-cury, etc. The treatment consists of binding a reagent to the surface of the charcoal, which then reacts with the PRODUCTSmolecule to be retained. This means that the activated charcoal provides the surface area and the retention is made CONFORby chemical adsorption or ‘chemisorption’.
