Who is Lifetime Training? Lifetime is the UK’s largest apprenticeship training provider, we deliver training to more than 1,000 HC-One Colleagues and have worked in partnership with HC-One for over 10 years. Founded in 1995, our team has over 20 years’ experience delivering bespoke apprenticeship programmes at both a local and national level across a range of sectors. More than 400 Lifetime Training Learning Coaches deliver exceptional training regionally, backed by a central support hub and superior resources. Apprenticeships are an important part of HC-One’s Colleague development strategy. They are one of the ways in which HC-One delivers programmes of learning that lead to recognised qualifications and standards for existing and new Colleagues. At HC-One it is important to offer opportunities that enhance Colleagues’ skills, knowledge, and competence, which increases career development prospects. How is an apprenticeship delivered? Each apprenticeship programme will be delivered by an expert Lifetime Training Learning Coach who will have experience within your chosen field. Aptem is an online platform that houses everything Colleagues need in order to complete their apprenticeship. Colleagues will be set up on Aptem to complete their online apprenticeship enrolment, making the enrolment process flexible for Colleagues with busy lifestyles. They will also be able to access all of Lifetime’s learning resources, designed by their expert curriculum team, to complete all of the necessary assignments for their apprenticeship. Aptem is integrated with Zoom meaning for any remote appointments or Lifetime Virtual Classrooms, Colleagues will just need to log into Aptem to access the sessions. We also understand the importance of managers having access to Colleague’s apprenticeship information therefore all managers have access to Aptem, allowing them to monitor progress, contribute to feedback and be aware of any upcoming appointment dates Colleague’s may have. 5

Adult Care Worker Level 2 Suitable for Care Assistants On completion of this 12 month programme you will demonstrate a range of skills such as helping adults with care and support needs to live as independently and safely as possible, enabling them to have control and choice in their lives which is at the heart of person centred care. What’s covered? • The importance of having the right values and behaviours and treating people with respect and dignity • The importance of communication and communicating clearly and responsibly • How to support individuals to remain safe from harm • How to promote health and wellbeing for the individuals you support and your Colleagues • How to work professionally and your own professional development • Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care How am I assessed? Your End Point Assessment will take place following a gateway discussion with your Line Manager and Lifetime Training Learning Coach. Lead Adult Care Worker Level 3 Suitable for Senior Carers On completion of this 15-month programme you will demonstrate a range of excellent skills such as providing leadership, guidance and direction at the frontline of care delivery. Lead Practitioner in Adult Care Level 4 Suitable for Unit Managers, Deputy Home Managers and other roles (after discussion with your Line Manager) Lead Practitioners in adult care guide and inspire team members to make positive differences to someone’s life when they are faced with physical, practical, social, emotional, psychological, or intellectual challenges. They will have achieved a level of self-development to be recognised as a lead practitioner within the care team, contributing to, promoting, and sustaining a values- based culture at an operational level. This programme is 18 months in length. Leader in Adult Care Level 5 Suitable for Home Managers, Deputy Managers, and other roles (after discussion with your Line Manager) Leaders in adult care are highly trained professionals who guide and inspire teams to make a positive difference to someone’s life when they are faced with physical, practical, social, emotional, psychological, or intellectual challenges. They are a leader of the care team and develop and implement a values-based culture at a service or unit level. They may be responsible for business development, financial control, organisational resilience, and continuity as well as for managing risk and leading on organisational change. This programme is 18 months in length. Production Chef Level 2 Suitable for Kitchen Assistants On completion of this 12-month programme you will demonstrate skills and techniques in producing dishes. You will report to a Senior Chef and are likely to work with centrally developed standardised recipes and menus, producing food in high volumes. What’s covered? • Identify and respond to individuals’ needs in different situations • Know the importance of combining nutrient groups to produce balanced menu items and dishes • Know the benefits of a balanced diet and how this impact on medical conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol, intolerances, allergens • Understand the different dietary requirements for the vulnerable, elderly and those who have weakened immune systems • Understand the importance of providing food allergen information to customers • Know the current legislation, regulations and procedures covering food safety, HACCP, health & safety, hazard analysis, and allergens • Know the correct methods of communication and how using inappropriate methods of communication can affect Colleagues and customers How am I assessed? Senior Production Chef Level 2 Suitable for Senior Chefs On completion of this 12-month programme you will demonstrate you are capable of independently supervising and motivating a team while contributing to the production of centrally developed standardised recipes and menus, and dishes to meet specific dietary requirements. You will complete, monitor and maintain food safety management systems and work equipment, working under pressure delivering excellent customer service. What’s covered? • Effectively communicate to the team par stock levels, quality points and safe storage conditions for food items • Know the importance of monitoring the correct use and maintenance of food production equipment and the procedure for dealing with misuse and malfunctions • Monitor the production of food to ensure residents needs are met • Know the importance of checking that the food production team is meeting the specific needs of individuals • Understand the seasonality, provenance and environmental factors that influence the development of dishes • Understand the business vision, objectives, and brand standards • Effectively use techniques that support cost reduction, improve performance, revenue, and customers’ experience • How to operate efficiently to deliver profit margins, reduce wastage and support the overall financial performance of the business • Know how to support and influence the team positively to deliver a high-quality product • Support team members to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality food • Use effective methods of communication and operate in a fair and empathetic manner that achieves the desired result and demonstrates a resident centric culture • Monitor and ensure the effective implementation of food safety management systems • Understanding the importance of health & safety and food safety practices and procedures How am I assessed? Healthcare Cleaning Operative Level 2 Suitable for Housekeepers On completion of this 12–13-month standard, apprentices will demonstrate a range of excellent cleaning operative knowledge, skills, and behaviours. Hospitality Supervisor Level 3 Suitable for Head Housekeepers or Senior Housekeepers On completion of this 12-month programme you will demonstrate you are capable of independently supervising and motivating a team working under pressure delivering excellent customer service. You will need to provide vital support to management teams and are capable of independently supervising hospitality services and running shifts. What’s covered? • Coordinate the work of housekeepers to ensure residents experience is in line with the business standards • Understand the financial operations and know how to source and use financial information relating to area of work • Operate within budget, exercising strict resource control • Understand how to effectively organise and coordinate a team to provide the required levels of service • Set realistic but challenging objectives with the team and work continuously to accomplish the best results • Understand ways in which teams work together and provide support to meet business objectives • Communicate a vision that inspires enthusiasm and commitment to the team How am I assessed? Hospitality Manager Level 4 Suitable for Senior Kitchen Roles, please discuss with your Line Manager before applying On completion of this 18-month you will be able to demonstrate you are a highly motivated leader with a talent for management and specific industry skills. You will ensure a level of responsibility and accountability for fulfilling the business vision and objectives which requires excellent business, people, and customer relation skills. What’s covered? • Responsible for the delivery of consistent levels of food preparation, cooking and service • High levels of financial accountability, adherence to strict procurement, stock management and food safety requirements • Understand the impact of service failure and identify how to develop and implement successful service recovery strategies • Understand management and leadership styles and skills • Understand the ethos of a diverse and inclusive culture and support the team members to carry out work activities and respond to a diverse range of needs • Understand how to use relevant operating models to help achieve the business vision and objectives • Identify potential risks to people and the business and how to plan for and minimise the impact • Understand how to create a people strategy and how to effectively manage recruitment, induction, team development and succession planning in a business and deliver it How am I assessed? Team Leader Supervisor Level 3 Suitable for Colleagues who manage or supervise a team in any part of the business (a team is usually classed as two or more people) A team leader or supervisor is a first line manager with operational/project responsibility for managing a team. You’ll provide direction, instructions and guidance through supporting, managing and developing team members, managing projects, planning and monitoring workloads and resources, delivering operational plans, resolving problems and building relationships. This programme is 18 months in length. What’s covered? • Personal Development • Leading and Managing People • Communication • Decision Making • Operational Management • Project Management • Finance • You will also complete the CMI Level 3 Certificate in Principles of Management and Leadership How am I assessed? Operations/Departmental Manager Level 5 Suitable for Senior Managers across the business On completion of this 18-month programme, you will show a range of skills in creating & delivering operational plans, managing projects, leading & managing teams, managing change, financial and resource management, talent management and coaching and mentoring. You must manage teams or projects that work to achieve goals and objectives. Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 Suitable for Colleagues in a customer facing role On-site or remote, customer service practitioners will provide a high quality service to your customers. Your actions influence the customer experience, delivering satisfaction and loyalty for an organisation. This programme is 12 months in length. Business Administrator Level 3 Suitable for Home Administrators or Central Support Admin Roles As a Business administrator you will have a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied to support your own progression towards management responsibilities. You will support and engage with different parts of the organisation and are expected to deliver your responsibilities efficiently. This programme is 12-15 months in length.
