academy apprenticeship programme We are delighted to offer an exciting range of apprenticeship programmes designed to support you developing the skills you need and the career you want with itsu. Apprenticeships combine training and development in the workplace with independent self-study, which is all completed during work hours. itsu have partnered with Lifetime, one of the UK’s leading training providers, to offer a wide range of apprenticeship programmes that will give you the knowledge, skills, and tools to grow. With specialist industry experts providing the training, Lifetime is committed to helping unlock potential through apprenticeships. This guide is to support you to learn more about what an apprenticeship involves, what programme might be right for you and most importantly, how to apply. 3

what is an apprenticeship? Apprenticeships are nationally recognised, and industry endorsed work-based training programmes that develop role relevant skills, knowledge, and behaviours. Apprenticeships combine learning in the workplace with independent self-study, known as off-the-job training, which is all completed during your working hours. It takes anywhere between 12-24 months to complete an apprenticeship. This is done by passing an End-point Assessment, which is taken at the end of the course and assessed by an independent awarding organisation. other factors of an apprenticeship It’s a common myth that apprenticeships are for school or college leavers starting out in their career, in fact apprenticeships are highly regarded work-based development programmes that support a wide range of roles and levels, right up to senior management. training is delivered online and in the workplace [as required]. there are no age limits on who can apply to do an apprenticeship. if you have a higher-level qualification such as a degree, you can still complete an apprenticeship, provided that your existing qualification is in an unrelated subject they include qualifications in maths and english if you don’t already have these – known as functional skills. colleagues on an apprenticeship will spend a portion of their working time dedicated to development [off-the-job training] over the course of the programme. This is explained further on p.46 4
