FALL/WINTER 2017 2017 ANNUAL REPORTTHE POWER OF100 WOMENsee page 8A Mission of the Western District of the Moravian Church

2017 ANNUAL REPORTDear Friends of Marquardt Village, As the year winds to a close, we’re counting our blessings — from helping families and improving lives through the Marquardt Foundation, to completing our building projects, to welcoming many wonderful, new neighbors. We also feel very fortunate and blessed to have had another strong financial year. We’re right on track with where we thought we would be from both a construction standpoint as well as financially. You can review the financial details for operations and the Foundation on pages 3 and 4. You’ll see that we’re in a good financial position, especially considering we just finished the most recent phase of construction. The assumptions we made were correct. Our numbers are working. This allows us to continue with our master development plan, and carry our mission forward to serve the needs of people today and in the future. Many of you are asking what’s next. We purposely added this break into our master plan. It gives us a chance to fine-tuneour services and amenities, and become better and more efficient. Our attention to the little things helps us stand apart andenhance residents’ lives even more. We’re excited about continuing to develop and evolve Marquardt Village in big ways, too. In doing so, we’re taking a slow and steadyapproach, not a sprinter approach. This time gives us an opportunity to plan and prepare for the final phase of our redevelopment. You’ll often hear me say, our community is like a fine wine. We get better with age. As we approach our 50th anniversary, we’reexcited to honor our heritage and the founding ideals that make living at Marquardt Village so special. With that in mind, we’llhave some exciting things to unveil for 2019. We’re in the process of planning those now.Yes, there’s much to be grateful for this holiday season. As you gather around the table with friends and family, we wish youand yours good health and happiness. We’re grateful to have you in our lives and as a part of our community.Blessings, THE MARQUARDT VILLAGE MISSION:Matthew Mauthe, CEO “Grounded in faith, we promote the health and well-being of each individual we serve.”2017 Operating Annual Report .............................................................................. 3 The Joys of Apartment Living ............................................................................ 6-7Marquardt Foundation Annual Report ............................................................. 4 100 Women Who Care .......................................................................................... 8-9Welcome New Board Members ............................................................................. 4 Donor Appreciation .................................................................................................. 10Volunteer of the Year Pete Colletti ......................................................................... 5 Holiday Dining in Towne Centre ......................................................................... 11Welcome New Employees ................................................................................... 5, 7 Giving This Holiday ................................................................................................... 12
