Editorial Desk Dear Parents, Greetings Welcome to Bhavans Kindergarten - . It brings me immense pleasure to welcome you all to the first edition of our Kindergarten Newsletter. My name is Mrs. Yogita Karmarkar. I ve been working with Bhavans Abu Dhabi since and I will be proudly presenting you the colorful journey of our tiny tots. We are really proud and exuberant to acclaim that we are ready with all new hopes and hues to bring out the first issue, which is going to surely unfold the unraveled world of the most unforgettable and precious moments of the Kinder- garten. The magazine is to be viewed as a stepping-stone for the creativity in students to blossom naturally. Our initiative aims at allowing the tiny ones roam freely in a world of imagination, which would help them create something beautiful. This newsletter is indeed a pious attempt to make our budding talents give shape to their creativity and learn the art of being aware because I believe that or success depends upon our power to perceive, the power to observe and the power to explore. We are sure that the positive attitude, hard work, sustained efforts and innovative ideas exhibited by our young buddies will surely stir the mind of the readers and take them to the surreal world of unalloyed joy and pleasure. It s been almost a decade and I ve been getting to know and learn different kindergarteners. It s the age of blossoming, curiosity, excitement and wondering. They do wonder, believe and they do trust. It is really a heart-warming feeling; experiencing their unconditional love. My dear parents, nurture them with your love, cherish them with your presence and let them feel your affection through the spark of your eyes. Every child is a different flower and together they make this world a beautiful garden. Each child is unique, nurture their uniqueness rather than comparing their capabilities. For children, it has no importance but if you ask an adult it is very important. Moreover, it is a time when the moral and social character of the children develop. In this stage of life, we can easily remodel the mindset of someone. Also, it is very important to understand that the mindset of children can be easily altered during the QQ this time. So, we have to keep a close eye on our children. Children are like buds, they care for everyone equally without any discrimination. Also, they are of helpful nature and help everyone around them. Moreover, they teach everyone the lesson of humanity that we have forgotten in this hectic lifestyle of this world. Besides, these children are the future of the country and if they do not grow properly then in future how can they help in the growth of the nation In conclusion, we can say that childhood is the time that makes our adulthood special. Also, children are like pottery vessels whom you can shape in any way you like. Besides this, their innocence and helpful nature gives everyone the message of humanity. Most importantly, they learn by either making mistakes or seeing their elders. It gives me immense pleasure to ensure that this newsletter has successfully accomplished its objec- tive. The reflection of the students creativity and achievements is the epitome of the magazine. I take the opportunity to thank all the contributors as their contribution is the reason that makes this magazine endearing with our readers. I heartily wish all the readers my best wishes and hope this magazine will enjoy your critical acclaim and prove itself to play a vital role in the all-round develop- ment of the children. 01

Supervisors’ Message Welcome to our exciting kindergarten experience of e - Learning at PIES School. You will be amazed at the amount of hard work the teachers have taken to give their best to your children. As you know, distance learning for PIES is in full motion. Our goal is to provide continuous educational opportuni- ties and practice for students while schools are closed but also to eliminate as much stress as feasibly possible for students, parents and teachers. While it is our responsibility to continue to educate our children, we also want to compassionately take into consideration the variety of difficulties that our families and employees are enduring this time. We are excited about our strong kindergarten team. We have a great combination of talented teachers with qualities that complement and bring out the best in each other. We enjoy working together, sharing ideas, and helping students become readers and learners for life. The PIES Kindergarten provides a play-based approach to teaching and learning. Together, we will improve the quality of our school community and provide the best for the children of PIES. All children are more successful when we work as a team to achieve educational goals. We look forward to working together as a team and having a successful year in Kindergarten. In closing, one of our main focus points for our educators and students during the school year has been having a growth mindset . A growth mindset unlocks the ability to learn and grow especially during challenging times. Little did we know how important this growth mindset would be for all of us this year Because of this experience and our growth mindset, I believe we all be stronger when we come out on the other side of the COVID - Pandemic History is being writ- ten We hold the pen Together we will write the BEST story for our children Ms.Arifa Fathima Ms.Priyanka Nair E – Learning report Recent circumstances have catapulted us into incorporating technology to help us spread the light of knowledge. Although the vibrant dynamics of a classroom cannot be recreated through e-learn- ing screens, we as teachers try our best to convey the love and care to touch the hearts and minds of our little ones. Even with scarce physical interactions, we try to inspire our students through our words and expressions. Orientation for Kindergarten parents and students took place under the able guidance of the staff members. Ms. Arifa Fathima was the moderator for the senior KG section while Ms. Priyanka Nair took the lead for the junior section. Over an extended meeting teacher were introduced and information was shared online on all matters of concern. On April th Senior KG commenced and on April th Junior KG followed suit. The day in Kindergar- ten starts with the Morning Prayer song and includes rhymes as a daily routine. Teachers introduced themselves to the new faces through Microsoft teams App. Wholehearted cooperation on the part of the parents has enabled a seamless transition allowing students to become familiar with this new way of learning. To build on the interactions PIES Kindergarten is using the Class Dojo app which is fun, friendly, versatile and informative. Ms.Shamna Moidunny 02

1 Thank You Card Activity Gratitude is a habit. It s a way of looking at the world and all the good things in it with a feeling of appreciation. In the new academic year with e learning platform, the students of kindergarten were encour- aged to prepare a Thank You card for the nurses and doctors who are helping the world fight the Corona Virus. On th April , the tiny tots were excited to make THANK YOU cards expressing their love and gratitude using pictures and by mentioning how proud they were to have them. Through these cards they thanked the health care service and the security force for their round-the-clock service in fighting the COVID- pandemic situation. The little hearts expressed their concerns about the health and safety of these brave souls who are sacrificing their lives in order to save other lives. There were cards which explained how some children were worried about their own parents health who were either nurses or doctors. Almost every student participated in making these cards and sent them online through their E-learning class sessions. Supporting the health care and other services through these positive and thankful words are the least we could do to motivate them. Even a small word of appreciation will be enough to strengthen their spirits. Ms. Rekha Jim 03

2 JR.KG Experiment – Make Germs Scatter What s better than a demonstration that teaches tiny tots the importance of washing hands On rd April, we the Jr.KG teachers astonished the students with a brilliant idea in the demonstration that showed why washing hands is so important amid the COVID outbreak. We also explained the importance of being hygienic to the little ones in a way they could understand better. We along with them filled water in a bowl and sprinkled some pepper into it. They observed how the pepper floats on the surface of the water and told them that was like germs on the surface of our skin. Now for the great moment Everyone was enthusiastic to see what s happening next. Regular washing of our hands using soap can keep germs away. Then we used liquid hand wash and dipped the index finger into the germs water and POOF Those germs scattered to the edge of the bowl. They were truly shocked that the germs pepper moved away from the liquid water. The class was so fun-filled and informative. With this simple demonstration, it helped the little tots to implement every day to keep away from germs and be hygienic. Ms. Loicy Ferrao 04

3 Cooking without fire The kitchen can be a fascinating place for young kids. They see grown-ups working briskly in there, watch the steam rise from pots on the stove, and smell what s on the menu that night. It isn t always convenient to invite them into the kitchen to help, but we can consider doing so when time allows. So PIES Kindergarten had a special activity for their Senior KG students Cooking without fire . Kids learned some cooking basics like juice, fruit salad, sandwich and so on. They used their math skills as they help combine ingredients for recipes. They also spoke about good nutrition and why they chose the ingredients they used. It has laid the groundwork for healthy eating. Parents get something out of this kitchen togetherness, there s the quality time they shared with their little ones. Ms. Arifa Fathima Younus 05

4 PARENT CORNER Bhavans e-Learning Classes A system based on teaching with the help of electronic devices is known as E-learning. The vision is to make avail of the resources for child learning on the internet which is available from anywhere and without any additional charges. The efforts of the school staff including the teaching faculty are commendable beyond words. The coordination rendered is highly inspirational and motivating... Daily engagements via online where the student - teacher interaction is highly enriched even during these tough times of the much devastating pandemic. The E-learning materials are upload- ed for timely access and education. In this occasion we should be grateful to the advancements and developments in technology and science that enable us to ease out the aftermath of this crucial situation of viral attack. It is with immense contentment and lots of respect that I thank the whole team of Bhavans staff who work on and off the PC to make this E-learning a productive initiative. Now we the parents, when taking the responsibility of teaching our kids, really sense the efforts the efforts the school puts in. Concluding my words with a token of gratitude. Stay safe...
