0 8 PARENT Corner Character Development - The Role of Parent Children are the wonderful creation of God, born with immense capacity and innumerable talents that need to be nurtured. They are the future and thus become the most precious wealth a nation can ever ask for. They absorb everything they observe. Here, parents play a pivotal role in influencing children. Instilling good character in your child helps them lead a contented and successful life. Character building requires lot of patience from parents as children imitate whatever we project. Love, Care, Patience, Kindness, Self-Control, Faithfulness are some of the important ways to build a good character in your child. True love is Sacrifice Always express your deep love to them. This will not only strengthen the bond between both but also will make you the most important person in your child s world. The peace in the family is very important for building character. Ensure no arguments or quarrels happen in front of the child as it will affect him her badly. Patience and Self-Control are two big pillars of a good character. If we can t manage our own emotions and react angrily, the child absorbs the same. So always try to regulate your own emotions.. Demonstrate kindness in your words and actions. When speaking to and in front of children, use a kind tone. Forgiveness is a choice, not a feeling Teach your children to admit, apologize, accept their mis- takes and ask for forgiveness. Always encourage and appreciate the abilities in your kid, which will give them more inspiration to step forward. Their little heart will fill with joy with every appreciation they receive. Your children are your greatest blessing from God Love … Care… and Nurture them.
