younggazette Summer Term Fun STRETTON PRE SCHOOL Wow we have reached summer term here at Stretton Pre- School! It is a busy term enjoying the outdoors and getting some of our children ready to leave for School. We would like to thank all the families that attended our Summer Fayre on 26.6.2022 as we have raised just over £1200 which is amazing as we will put this money back into the Pre-School by buying new resources for the children. A big thank you to all the local companies that contributed to the raffle prizes that we handed out – we are grateful for all your support! If you would like a space for your child/ children here at Stretton Pre-School to start In January 2023 or April 2023 please contact us directly for a booking form. Spaces are starting to fill up fast so therefore we would recommend you contacting us soon. Hope you all enjoy the summer holidays! All Things \"Eco\" WILLIAM DE YAXLEY Year 3 & 5 children have been looking at all things ‘eco’ during lunchtime play over the last couple of weeks. We have made bird feeders using lemons recycled yogurt pots and bottles and old pencils that we have then hung in the trees around the playground. This week the children have thoroughly enjoyed scavenging for outdoor debris to make mini bug homes filling old plant pots with twigs moss leaves and small stones which have then been placed in and around the hedgerows in the playground to encourage the bugs to come and settle in. We have also been given permission by Mr Ingham, the caretaker to use one of the potato planters so we shall spend some time over the next couple of weeks weeding and preparing the area with a view to making wild flower seed bombs this will be our next project in the hope that the pretty wild flowers will encourage the bees into the area. 14 Yaxley Gazette | August 2022 | T: 01733 757342 | E: [email protected] | www.yaxleygazette.co.uk
