hamptonhub Christ the Servant King the Parish Church of Hampton FACEBOOK /cskhamptonchurch Thanks for the memories …… 2012 It is with a heavy heart that I write this, my final article for the 7 Hampton Gazette. After much thought and prayer and taking into consideration a number of factors, I have come to the decision that the time is right for me to take early retirement. I will hand over the baton of being Vicar of Christ the Servant King (CSK) Hampton, a role I moved here to take on during September 2012. My final church service will be on Sunday 15th May 2022. I am exceedingly grateful for the amazing time I have had whilst being here with you. When I arrived here, CSK was meeting in Hampton Vale School and over my time here I have been incredibly blessed to be a part of a growing, thriving church where many members serve our community in so many different ways. There has been a significant amount of change and growth in Hampton itself over the past almost ten years, and I will take with me so many happy memories. Hampton really is a fantastic place to live. I am very thankful for the warm welcome that I was given from the start by so many organisations in Hampton. Many relationships have developed over the years. It has been a great honour and privilege to have shared in so many life events with individuals. There have been both tears of joy and tears of sorrow. Each encounter and memory will go with me. We are not moving too far away from Hampton, so you may see me around Serpentine Green or visiting friends. Do stop and say hello if you do. The Bible includes letters, written to various churches by a man named Paul. At the end of one letter he wrote to the church in Corinth, he closed with these words, which I’d like to close with here: “Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.” With my heartfelt thanks, love and prayers. God bless you all and thanks for the memories. Sylvia xx Hampton Gazette | May 2022 | E: [email protected] | www.hamptongazette.co.uk

talkingtravel By Sarah Hounsell, HAYS TRAVEL t: 01733 646316 e: [email protected] E/sarahhounsellathaystravel /sarahhounsellathaystravel www.haystravel.co.uk/sarahhounsell So the weather is getting warmer, and some of us are liking the sunshine and the warmer temperatures, and now really thinking about our next holiday. Wouldn’t it be amazing to wake up each morning and know that outside those balcony doors is guaranteed sunshine and high temps and a fabulous pool to jump into? Or that feeling when you exit the plane and have landed at your destination, you walk down those steps with the smell of suntan lotion, you put your sunglasses on and know you have arrived! Well summer holidays are selling really well at the moment and some good prices to be had for this year. Next year has sold really well too but I am starting to see an increase in prices for 2023, and airlines have started to announce that prices will be going up due to fuel and re-negotiations with hotel contracts! So I have to say if you have any thoughts on booking 2023, do it now before those prices start to trickle out to the public. Everything is costing more, so hotels will be putting their prices up to help them through the coming year also. Top destinations this year are Turkey, Spain and Greece for Summer and for Winter, Maldives and Lapland are still at the top. With no longer any requirements coming back to the UK, things have been made easier again for those that are fully vaccinated. Those that are not may have to have a private PCR or Rapid test to travel and to come back again, but it really has been made easier to travel this year, and their are several places that offer various packages for your testing requirements in Peterborough. Please as always do give me a try before booking your holiday online. I may be able to get a better price for you and do all the work for you too, so there is nothing to lose by getting in touch !
