younggazette Parents Who Lunch! ST JOHN HENRY NEWMAN CATHOLIC PRIMARY Here at St John Henry Newman Catholic Primary School, our children have had another busy half-term so a great deal of exciting learning activities taking place. Our Year 4 and Year 5 children took a journey to Spain as part of their Spanish Languages specialism. The children learn key Spanish phrases as well as aspects of Spanish culture. In Year 1 and 2 have been taking part in some collaborative learning. As a class they have been taking part in a science quiz to recap their learning from the term. Their answers were very impressive and accurate. Whilst our Reception class have been exploring all areas of mathematics. They compared 3D shapes to objects in the classroom or at home and learnt about shapes that had flat faces and shapes that had curved surfaces. We also welcomed over 50 parents into school to join their children at lunchtime. This was a lovely school event and I know that the children really enjoyed having lunch with their family. Finally, as part of our Lentern work, we led a Stations of the Cross service at St Luke's Church. Children from all year groups, including from Reception class shared readings, reflections, and prayers. All the children read beautifully and did an amazing job leading this reflective service. To apply for a place, please visit the Peterborough School Admissions website. Also, please feel free to visit our school for a tour.
