Project FinancePromoting investment in emerging economies12 – 16 September 2016

Introduction2015 has been a critical year for global economic development. Leaders from around the world adopted aglobal 2030 development agenda at a UN Summit in September 2015. The new global goals, called theSustainable Development Goals, are ambitious and demand equal ambition in using the “billions” inOfficial Development Assistance to channel and crowd-in “trillions” in investments of all kinds: public andprivate, national and international. These goals will drive the global economic development agenda overthe next 15 years.Taking full advantage of blended financial instruments to finance business projects that will create jobsand boost economic development is a critical challenge for business people all around the world.MSM has designed one of the first courses in Europe that comprises an introduction to blended financialinstruments, a critical knowledge area to take full advantage of a new generation of financial sourcesaimed at promoting private investment in emerging economies.“Sustainable development can only be achieved with investment that createsjobs, wealth and prosperity. Your expertsRui SantosRui Santos has extensive experience of donor funded projects in countries around the world (includingEstonia, Moldova, China / Macau, Cameroon, Gabon, and Senegal). He is a Portuguese national andlectures at various institutions including: The three most prestigious Portuguese universities (Technical University, New University and Catholic University) The Netherlands (Maastricht School of Management) Rwanda (Rwanda Institute of Administration and Management) Moldova (Academy of Public Administration).Throughout his career, Rui has delivered training courses to students from more than 30 countries and isfamiliar with diverse, multicultural audiences.Mirjana Stanisic MScMirjana Stanisic has extensive experience in donor funded projects in emerging and countries intransition (Egypt, Romania, Bangladesh, Serbia and Montenegro). She worked previously as a nationalexpert in Serbia and Montenegro and has several years of experience in international cooperation withrelevant international bodies for environment and climate change. Mirjana published more than tenarticles in the field of environment and participated in various project and programs funded by UNEP,UNECE, World Bank, IUFRO). Currently she is working as a consultant and lecturer at Maastricht Schoolof Management, conducting training sessions in project management, proposal writing, sustainabledevelopment and soft skills. Besides project management and consultancy experience, she providesmentoring and coaching of participants in their individual action plans.Ana FernandesAna Fernandes has been working on development issues since 1994. She is the Portuguese Delegate tothe DAC-Development Assistance Committee and to the Development Centre of the OECD since 2009.She has been DAC Vice-Chair from 2011 to 2014 and is the co-chair of AGID-Advisory Group onInvestment and Development and also the DAC facilitator of the Working Party on Statistics. From April2005 to September 2009 she was Advisor to the State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and DevelopmentCooperation, and previously worked as project manager at Marquês de Valle Flôr NGDO. She has acourse on Public Administration for Directors Generals at the National Public Administration Institute inLisbon; a Master on Social and Economic Development in Africa at University of Lisbon; a Post-Graduatecourse in European Studies at the Economy and Management University of Lisbon and an InternationalRelations degree at Minho University, Braga. Being also an invitee teacher at several Universities inPortugal, she has contributed to several publications, and has published two books one titled “UnitedStates and Angola: the oil economic diplomacy” and the other “ABCD - Introduction to DevelopmentCooperation”.
