PRE-PRIMARY JANUARY, 2017, DPS, NACHARAMHappy Makar Sankranthi along with Republic DayThe new year began with a bang. The What’s Inside??whole month of January was filled withcelebrations and activities. Sylvanas kept  Play, learn and growtheir spirits high to keep up with the at-  Sankranthi Sam-mosphere at Paradise.  Do you know February has 29 days once in four years? It’s called a Leap Year. We know indoor and outdoor games. Now I know that we should never play with bat and ball inside the house.Pongal or kite festival or locally very well known as Makara Sankranthi was celebrated withgreat enthusiasm and zeal.Parents were invited to participate in different competitions such as recitation, kavvali, anddancing. To add more newness, fathers were invited to compete in categories such as rangoliand thoranam decorating competitions. To our surprise and glee, fathers not only participat-ed in big number and proved that they were unstoppable by bagging prizes.My School is filled with trees and greenery. 2

Kids had their own share of Sankranthi celebrations.Dressed in traditional attire they danced for few fa-mous pongal songs. They also learnt the traditionsthat are related to pongal such as importance ofHaridas, the role of basa-vanna – the cow, etc.Training was conducted on first aid treatment for the pre-primary teachers by Ms.Sneha, our medical officer. The training covered mainly about the primary precautionsand treatment that a child needs from common illness, minor injuries, vomiting, cuts,and bruises. As a part of the training, all teachers were asked to make a basic first-aidkit which needs to be kept in the class.Clean and green is always encouraged….. 4

Republic day in corner, the kids participated inSwadesh Geetanjali Pratiyogita. Every class of pre-primary participated in the competition wherethe children sang patriotic songs with a theme toshow the diversity of our country. Sylvanas at paradise believe in keeping themselves updated with the ever evolv- ing technology. As a part of that, Mr. Raygalla Kalyan conducted a workshop that specially dealt about the universal standards used to make a PowerPoint presentations, and highlighted about the dead spots. Our 68th Republic day was celebrated with great pride and honor on 26th of January. Thetots of paradise block put up a great show which was nothing short of parade at Rajpath,New Delhi. Children paraded dressed in different attires representing our state and ourarmed forces. Historic monuments related to our state were showcased in the paradeVillages are the strength for our living 6
