CHARACTER DESIGN

CHARACTER DESIGN C HDAERSAI GC TNE R Whenever I’d try character design, I would question the definition of a “well done” design. For me, a well done design was one that felt complete and that feeling would be encouraged by right de- cisions. Deciding the proper colors, proportions and costumes. I believed the process to be time-con- suming and require quite a lot of evaluation. However, even after consecutive attempts, I didn’t feel pleased. The designs I find to be satisfying now, have been created by methods different from what I was used to. By ink stains and shreds of magazine and newspaper. Amidst textures and indistinguishable shapes, words and bright colors of advertisements, grew charac- ters carrying their own stories and personalities. Features of a complete character. This collection was done in 2020. By watercolor, ink and colored pencils.

PHOTOJOURNALISM PHOTOJOU They get drowned in the ambiance and people’s excite- ment or in maze-like rooms and ceremonious halls and flags in addition to getting the front row of monumental moments. This collection was based on photojournalism. Made in 2020 by watercolor.

PHOTOJOURNALISM URNALISM Every night at a specific time, the tv turns on. For the 9 o’clock news. In the news, well dressed grown ups report on all happenings in the world. From natural disasters to cultural festivals, from violent incidents to powerful individ- uals shaking hands. Do the photographers and cameramen see differently than the audience?

OBSERVATIONAL DRAWINGS OD

OBSERVATIONAL DRAWINGS DOBRSEARWVATINIOGNASL Choosing my surroundings as a subject, al- lowed me to reach an understanding of my position amid stones and bricks, trees and their branches and the asphalt beneath my feet. Illustrating locations I spend hours in and the city I was born and raised in and the view I see on a daily basis, immortalises them for me and for others to witness. It seemed appropriate to use a medium I enjoyed for such a personal collection. Therefore the pieces were done by pencil and graphite in 2019.

CONTRADICTION CONTRADICTION One of my goals in life is for my art to be influential and a source of inspiration for up and coming artists and the human society. For that reason, I defined contradictions in the broad definition of breaking the norm, taboos, personal and social habits.

CONTRADICTION The source of inspiration for this collection was illustrations of the 50s where the roles of men and women are absolutely saturated. I wished to burst the bubble of gender roles within my community by portraying couples and families dressing up and acting out of the “ordinary”. This collection was done in 2020 and by colored pencils.
