Our partners not only help WDC raise vital funds to support our work, but also help us in spreading the word to new audiences about WHY we need whales to keep our shared oceans healthy, and HOW we can work as individuals and collectively to make meaningful, lasting change. Long-term WDC partners, such as Cape Clasp, Kamibashi, and Sakroots, were joined by several new companies. Along with our partner Nantucket Whaler who joined us in 2018, another Nantucket-based company, Cisco Brewers, joined the team this year. British Columbia's Sunshine Coast Air, makeup company PUPA Milano, and The Mountain apparel all came onboard in 2019. We celebrated World Oceans Day with The Lions Model Management, who hosted an amazing and celebrity studded event for us in June. Each company approached the partnership in their own way, but they all have made it possible for WDC to do what we're best at - saving whales! Foundations GRANTS Foundation grants are an important source of revenue for WDC. In FY19 we saw a 133% increase in Foundation grants! This funding was instrumental in the expansion of our outreach programs and policy work. It was funding from Metabolic Studio that brought the life-size inflatable right whale, Delilah, to life. She enthralled thousands of adults and children this year, and we continue to seek funding which will allow us to triple the number of presentations. PUPA Milano's make-up whale, left, was a holiday hit for the Italian-based make- up company. Cape Clasp's whale bracelet, right, is a staff favorite! 15 WDC 2019

Individually and collectively, you inspire and motivate us – and you fund every piece of work we do. People like you have donated their time, their energy and their money to WDC. Each gift made to WDC, no matter the size, is an important contribution supporting our work. It is our promise that we spend each and every dollar in a fiscally responsible manner. how we SPEND EACH DOLLAR $0.83 $0.17 Conservation Programs Fundraising & Administrative Outreach & Education Expenses Policy Work TOTAL INCOME for FY19 was $801,134, up 10% from FY18 income of $725,769. The increased income came from above-projected revenues in three main areas: Individual Giving, Foundations and Grants, and Corporate/Business Donations. Total expenses for the fiscal year were $753,670, increased from the FY18 expenses of $565,486. This was primarily due to the addition of two new full-time staff members and the implementation of a health care and retirement benefits package for all staff. Net retained assets at the end of FY19 were $409,180 up from $361,716 at the end of FY18. STRATEGIC GROWTH is the not-so- secret secret to our success. Over the last five years we have grown from a team of four full- time employees to a team of eight. We’re expanding both our outreach and education programs as well as our efforts to work with stakeholders and decision makers to define viable, long-lasting conservation measures to protect whales and dolphins for decades to come. 19 WDC 2019
