Fun Summer Mission Opportunity – Youth, Adults & FamiliesAre you interested in helping with the corn harvest from a small local farmer to provide freshcorn to area food pantries? We need people to help follow a truck through a farm nearHazleton and pick the corn by hand on Saturday, August 19th. We’ll meet at MUMC at 8 a.m.and carpool. It should not take too long and will be a lot of fun. Wear sturdy shoes, jean and acap for sun – plan to get dirty. We’re thinking we’ll be back in Moscow by noon but bring abrown bag lunch just in case. To RSVP and get permission slips call or email the church office,570-842-7251 or [email protected] 25 Bottles Ministry at MUMCWhen Lent began in March, our church began an outreach mission to collect prescription andover the counter medicine bottles for distribution to third world countries through Matthew 25Ministries of Ohio. As of Memorial Day Weekend, we have collected 1,005 bottles. My husbandJohn and I collected, cleaned, upcapped, washed, dried, recapped, sorted by color and size, andbagged these bottles. They were taken to the UPS store and shipped to Ohio. From there, theywill be added to other donations from around the United States and sent to distribution sites inunderdeveloped nations. A clean medicine bottle IS the difference between life and death in anundeveloped nation. Thank you to everyone who saved and brought in your medicine bottles,and for spreading the word to co-workers and friends, in support of this outreach mission. Weare continuing to collect bottles – the rules are simple: 1. plastic and with a cap; 2. peel off thelabel; 3. prescription and over the counter bottles accepted. Put them in the bin in the narthex.We will continue to collect through the fall and I’ll send another shipment in December.Thanks,Carol Verrone

Two MUMC Youth to participate in Helping Hearts and Hands Mission Camp in Wayne CountyPlease keep Robin Kelly and Jessica Galey in prayer, August 16 –August 20, 2017 as they joinwith youth and adults from several other churches in PA to help rural residents with a variety ofhome projects in northern Wayne County, grow in God’s Spirit and have a lot of fun.Operation Homefront Back-To-School Brigade Report – 2017Harold Galely, MUMC leader for this mission in its 2nd year reports the following list of itemswere donated by MUMC friends during the month of July to help out military families in ourarea.
