FROM THE EDITOR After selling the print magazine I published for seven years, I turned to the web and started up New Con- sciousness Review. With virtually no limitations as to space and distribution, we were able to showcase hundreds and then thousands of books, DVDs, mu- sic and spoken word CDs as an online review site. Three years we added NCR Radio to the mix, and our weekly podcasts have earned us both satisfaction and recognition. With the new tech- nologies exploding on the scene, I dreamed of a multimedia review magazine that was able to combine the best of print, audio and video in one exciting interactive publication that would be available around the world and could even be printed-on-demand. The dream morphed into reality, and I expect that it will continue to evolve as both consciousness and technology evolve. New Conscious- ness Review will continue to provide authoritative reviews and highly regarded interviews for both established and emerging authors, film- makers, and musicians who are contributing to the planetary awak- ening. Our content is intended to raise consciousness of our nature as multidimensional beings and of our responsibility for making wiser choices and living in harmony with each other and the planet. In these pages you will find an exciting mix of reviews, interviews, arti- cles, audio and video. Hopefully we will engage your curiosity, expand your perspectives, and whet your appetite to explore the mind-ex- panding archives on our website, ncreview.com. We may even inspire you to invite these inspirational authors and musicians to your next event, or attend one of their workshops. I hope you will enjoy this, our inaugural issue, and be sure to subscribe to get it regularly. I’d like to mention that while this is a labor of love we also need your support to keep it going, so please check out the ad- vertising and promotion options on our website, or contact us HERE. INSPIRATIONREVIEWWild Creative: Igniting Your Passion and Potential in Work, Home, and Life by Tami Lynn Kent This is a how-to book about unleashing the creative potential within yourself. With her deep understanding of energy and how it flows, the author weaves a narrative full of anecdotes, exercis- es, and timeless words of wisdom. This is a truly inspired creation that will awaken the wild creative within anyone who reads this book with the intention of inhabiting the fullness of who they are.The author, with her background in physical therapy, now runs a holistic healthcare practice that does energy work on its clients. From her experi- ences working with both the energy of others through her practice and also with her own, the author has gained wisdom about energy dynamics that she shares in her book using examples from both her life and her clients to illustrate. She also shares her wisdom through a se- ries of comprehensive exercises that invite the reader to find their own creative center. The author’s perspective is engaging and insightful. She has a clear understanding about energy and how it flows through us to create our lives that seems so lack- ing and little understood in today’s world. More books are needed like this one to help people understand en- ergy dynamics and why this understanding will lead them to fearlessly following the natural flow of their lives, wherever it may lead because they trust in the flow of spirit. This book is highly recommended for any- one who wants to tap into the creative energy field that surrounds us and flows through us and enables us when fully utilized to live a life beyond our wildest dreams. METAREALITYREVIEWTPoEhRfCeEAPMWTUEAALCKINHETEANGRNIANTICIOGNS: by Gary Sherman THERE IS A RARE BRILLIANCE IN THIS BOOK ABOUT DISCOVERING THE PROCESS OF BECOMING SELF-AWARE. THE AUTHOR, A PSYCHOLOGIST FOR FOUR DECADES, HAD AN UNUSUAL EXPERIENCE ONE MORNING WHILE MEDITATING.He felt an unfamiliar ex- pansion in his body that he describes as “an open field of awareness.” In this state he had a sud- den impulse to “speak.” The first words out of his mouth were about “perceptual integration,” and the speaking went on for ten minutes. The next day while sitting it resumed, and continued for 52 days, and then stopped. What revealed itself was a “body of knowledge large in scope and deep in understanding.” Fortunately for us, the author had the presence of mind to record what came through him and the result is this book, which is less about his curious experience and much more of a “man- ual” for awakening. Sherman has distilled the mechanics of awakening (self-awareness) into three skills: 1) Take control of your attention; 2) Grounding yourself in the fact of your body; and 3) Releasing yourself from the function of the mind. He elegantly and clearly teases out the inner and outer dimensions of perception, 27 | NEW CONSCIOUSNESS REVIEW
