Literatures of the world By Simon Jeddidiah S. Dery Grade 11-AGH



At North America, this continent consists of countries such as Canada, U.S.A, Mexico, Cuba and other 19 states. The history of the continent offered literature to the people in different languages.

AMERICAN LITERATURE WAS FORMED BY THE HISTORY OF THE COUNTRY. This country started with colonies along the east coast of the now known today. as U.S.A.

The American literature starts when the English speaking Europeans arrived. Originally, the American literature was a colonial literature.

A man named John Smith was given credit on starting American literature.

After many years, literature developed and changed because of America's evolution. The change of time periods are categorized into 9 eras. These are Revolutionary, Realism, Colonial, Modern, Romantic, Harlem Renaissance, Postmodern, Beat Generation and Transcendental.

ANOTHER FORM OF LITERATURE ARE POEMS. Woorfdtsheoifrcpoaorriegemifnusalllayitryae,rarbadenmaguiertedyd.abnedcaaruese POEMS ARE OFTEN WRITTEN IN SHORT LINES. SOMETIMES IT INCLUDES RHYMING WORDS.

One of the famous poets is William Shakespeare. Shakespeare's sonnet 18 is the most famous. This poem was written to give praise for his lover's beauty.

In traditional poetry, it uses a set of rhymes to express their feelings. Nowadays, modern day poetry relies less on rhyming words.

Mexican literature

MEXICO IS A PART OF THE CONTINENT OF NORTH AMERICA ALONG SIDE WITH CANADA, CUBA AND U.S.A.

Along with Spain and Argentina, Mexican literature is one of the most influential Spanish language literatures. One of the three most important Latin American poets of the 20th century, Octavio Paz won the Nobel prize in literature in 1990 and his poetry focuses on the fate of man and love.

THE HISTORY OF MEXICAN LITERATURE STARTS AT THE 18TH CENTURY. But in the last years of the colony, historiographic studies that are focused on literary activities are carried out.

GENRES OF MEXICAN LITERATURE In the 20th and 21st century, the genres of stories, essays and novels are enhanced. But when playwrights and historians were born, they became important for novelistic and theatrical culture. During the Spanish viceroyalty, the first genre that stood out and used was the Lyric. In the 19th century, during the Mexican Independence, the genres that caught the eye in Mexican literature were novels, short stories, poetry and essays.

Japanese LITERATURE

Japanese literature Early works of this literature were influenced by cultural contact with Chinese literature.

Japanese literature were often written in classical Chinese. In Japan, writing was introduced by China in the 5th century via the Korean peninsula

In the 11th century of the Heian Period, the very first novel, \"The Tale of Genji\", was written. This story shows the introduction to the culture of aristocracy in early Heian Japan, this includes forms of entertainment, daily life and its moral code.

One of the most popular Japanese writers is Haruki Murakami. The way of of his writing leaves reality completely in a fantasy world inspired by the style of Franz Kafka.

French Litera ture

France is a country located In France, the official at the West of Europe and language is French and is being spoken by 88% of the has existed for over a thousand years. population.

French literature has evolved over the years.

THE HISTORY OF FRENCH LITERATURE HAS MANY TIMELINES SUCH AS THE MEDIEVAL PERIOD, 16TH, 17TH, 18TH, 19TH, 20TH AND CONTEMPORARY.

French became the literary lingua franca in the 18th century. It also became a diplomatic language of Western Europe.

Under the aristocratic ideals of the Ancien Régime, the French have come to have a profound cultural attachment to their literary heritage.

Nowadays, French schools prioritizes the study of poetry, novels and theatre.
