It’s back! After a two-year break we are delighted that we can once again bring to you, our Priestmead Community, our flagship event of the year - The Priestmead Summer Fair 2022! We are also super excited for our Early Phase and Year 2 families to experience their first summer fair since joining Priestmead! Inside this brochure you will find a guide to what's happening on the day, some activities and riddles for you to work through over a cup of tea or glass of juice and most importantly some snazzy adverts from our local community - some of who will be at the fair so do go and visit them! If you've been to our fair before, you will know there is always plenty to do and see; and this year promises to be no different! You'll be able to visit a wide selection of stalls, hop on a fairground ride, fill up on a variety of food options and win prizes in our raffle draw! If that's not enough, over on our performance arena we have Priestmead’s finest talent on stage, some amazing performances from our local dance schools and DJ Sam to get you in the party mood! Finally, before we leave you to have a look through our Summer Fair 2022 brochure we want to say a huge thank you to all our amazing volunteers whose commitment, hard work and enthusiasm knows no bounds! Thank you also to Mr Alwyn and Mrs Patel in the school office, we really couldn't have done this without their support! We hope you all have a fantastic day! All about your PPA! When your child joins the school, you automatically become part of the Priestmead Parent’s Association (PPA). The PPA is our amazing community of Parents/Carers and friends of Priestmead, who come together throughout the school year to generate funds for those ‘extra’ things that the school requires to enhance learning at Priestmead. But that is not all! We are also about having heaps of fun, making friends, and helping to build a strong Priestmead community. Our events and activities include… We will keep you up to date with PPA events and activities via the school newsletter, school ping and class communications. You can also find us on facebook (just search PriestmeadParentsAssc and hit the like button) and find out ‘What’s On’ on our website www.pta-events.co.uk/ppa. PPA AGM 2021-22 The Priestmead Parents’ Association Annual General Meeting will be held in September 2022 - keep an eye out for the date in the school newsletter. The meeting is open to all Parents/Carers and friends of Priestmead. As well as the more formal part of the meeting you will get to hear about events planned for the upcoming school year and the school’s plans for using the funds we have raised. It is also a great opportunity to meet other Priestmead Parents!

As a registered charity every penny we raise goes back into the school. In the last few years, we have helped to fund… Get involved, make a difference! There are several ways you can get involved… 1. One of the easiest ways to support the PPA is by simply attending our events and encouraging your child to participate in our student only activities! 2. If you fancy getting a bit more hands on, then you can volunteer to help with the running of our events. We have a variety of tasks from prep work to running stalls. Keep an eye out for our ‘volunteers wanted’ requests in the newsletter/ school ping. You just volunteer as and when you can. 3. For more behind the scenes activity, you may wish to join the PPA organising team. There are virtual team meetings but they don’t require a huge amount of time. You just need to be willing to pitch in with ideas, follow up leads and have a good laugh! Whatever you decide, the PPA is a fantastic way to earn brownie points with your children and play an active role in their schooling experience! FANCY A CHAT? What begins with ‘e’ and only contains one letter?

WATERMELON & STRAWBERRY SLUSHIE Ingredients 1 small watermelon 225g punnet of ripe strawberries, tops cut off juice of 2 limes Method Step 1 - The day or morning before you want to drink the slushie cut the watermelon into chunks and remove the skin and seeds. Place half the watermelon wedges into a large freezable bag then pop in the freezer for a few hours Step 2 - Once frozen, blitz the frozen watermelon with the rest of the watermelon, strawberries and lime juice until FRUIT ICE LOLLIES Ingredients 1 medium banana 180g strawberries, hulled and roughly chopped 150g fresh mango chunks Make the strawberry layer Add ½ a banana, sliced and the strawberries, hulled and roughly chopped into a blender and blitz until completely smooth. Divide the mixture between 8 lolly moulds so that each mould is about a third full. Make the mango layer Rinse out the blender then add the remaining banana and mango chunks peeled. Blitz until smooth. Carefully spoon or gently pour a layer of the mango mix into the moulds so that it sits on top of the strawberry layer, taking care not to mix the layers. Make the blueberry layer Rinse the blender again and add the blueberries. Blitz until smooth then carefully add to the moulds on top of the mango layer. Freeze Add the lolly sticks to the moulds then freeze for overnight. When you are ready to enjoy your lollies run the outside of the moulds under warm water to release them. GET CREATIVE AND USE WHAT FRUIT AND JUICES YOU ALREADY HAVE AT HOME!
