CF Education provides a range of Educational Services for children and young people who are currently out of education; with the goal of helping them transition back into full-time education. Social worker owned and run, CFSW focusses not only on the young person’s specific educational needs, but also their social and emotional needs and development. By understanding the triggers which have led to the young person being without education, we are able to tailor our approach and ensure we are sensitive to needs which may have gone undetected in their educational experience so far. We are a team of highly skilled educators and social work practitioners, with many different skills, across a variety of disciplines, meaning every package of educational support we offer is bespoke and incorporates specific skills of individuals who are specialised in achieving outcomes with the child/young person. Our team consists of Senior Leaders, Teachers, HLTAs and therapeutic practitioners. CF Education’s The Milestones Passport

To help us deliver a focused, outcomes-led provision CF Education have designed our educational tool The Milestones Passport. This all-encompassing document includes a full curriculum from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4 and incorporates careful tracking & assessment, so that at any point crucial feedback on the child’s progress and attainment can be given. The passport moves with the child throughout their academic journey and is a special book to keep track of their learning and success. - A key element to successful transition The Milestones Passport is useful for; tracking and guidance tool that promotes individualised, holistic learning with the child’s needs and achievements at the very heart. The Milestones have evolved from a long-standing mission to acknowledge the incremental step-by-step linear nature of learning. Moreover, the Milestones have been conceived as a universal approach designed to root all teaching in the conviction that the best learning is the learning that is retained and effectively becomes a lasting part of the learner. In a pedagogical context, Milestones promotes new and better ways of teaching; it shifts from superficial coverage to deep mastery. The Milestones approach refuses to let gaps develop.

Our Wrap-Around Services is specifically designed to benefit young people with challenging/complex behaviour or high-level needs and who may be facing placement breakdown, who are on the edge of care or who are in a gang or on the edge of joining a gang. This service has the intention of both educating and fully occupying this cohort of young people to divert them from the attractions of negative influences and safeguard their placements. A feature of the service concerns the likelihood that the young person has been excluded or may be at the point of exclusion from their school. The starting point for this service is the positive, unconditional regard we offer the young person. Regardless of the challenge they pose or the behaviours they exhibit, we do not ‘let go of their leg’. We recognise that persistence and perseverance is vital to engaging these young people if any positive outcomes are to be achieved.
