Youth Masterworks Festival Dr. Deanna Joseph, conductor with generous support from Dr. John Casey Dr. Deanna Joseph is Associate Professor of Music Mon | Feb 25 | 7PM and Director of Choral Activities at the Gloria Georgia State University School of Music where Antonio Vivaldi she conducts the University Singers and leads the Deanna Joseph master’s program in choral conducting. In 2015, Conductor/Guest Clinician she was the recipient of the College of Arts and Jackie Josten, soprano Sciences’ Outstanding Teacher Award at Georgia Patty Kramer, mezzo soprano State, where she was selected out of a pool of over 800 faculty. In May of 2017, the University featuring singers and instrumentalists from Singers under Dr. Joseph’s leadership won first place in the renowned Marktoberdorf Lincoln East High School International Chamber Choir Competition while on a concert tour of Austria and Bavaria. The Georgia State University Singers have been Brett Epperson, director invited to perform at two Southern Division conventions of the Del Whitman, director American Choral Directors Association and at two conventions of the Georgia Music Educator’s Association during Dr. Joseph’s tenure at Norris High School GSU. Dr. Joseph is an active guest conductor and headline clinician and has conducted all-state and honor choirs in more than twelve states. Wes Hansmeyer, director She has prepared choirs to sing with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Atlanta Opera, and Andrea Bocelli. One of her small ensembles was Lincoln Southeast High School featured on a 2016 episode of “The Walking Dead.” Dr. Joseph holds conducting degrees from the Eastman School of Music, where she was Melissa Noonan, director awarded the Walter Hagen Conducting Prize. Margret Delaney, director Jackie Josten, soprano Jacqueline Josten, soprano, holds a MM in music performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a BM in music performance from East Carolina University. She has also been a member of the Opera Omaha chorus since 2015. She and the Vivaldi Gloria are old friends, with her prior performances being with Christ United Methodist Church in Lincoln, Nebraska in December 2013 as the second soprano/alto soloist, and also during her time at East Carolina as a member of the University Chorale. She currently lives in Lincoln with her feline roommate and enthusiastic duet partner, Lazarus. Patty Kramer, mezzo-soprano Patty Kramer has established herself as a diverse performer of classical, musical theatre, and popular repertoire here in the Midwest. This South Dakota-native loves embodying it all, from powerful, independent women to love-crazed, pubescent boys. Beyond stage productions, she is also a frequent performer in recitals, oratorios, and chorale ensembles. Patty holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and Master of Music degree from Bowling Green State University in Ohio, both in Vocal Performance. She is currently working toward a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Vocal Performance at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Court Choir is the varsity concert choir at Southeast High School, consisting of 56 selected seniors and Court Choir juniors. It is one of eight choirs offered during the Lincoln school day. The choir performs in 4 school concerts Southeast throughout the year as well as various community performances. Court Choir has twice been selected to perform as a featured choir at the Nebraska Music Educator’s Conference held in Lin- coln, NE, The choir consistently receives superior rat- ings at festivals and district music contest. In recent years, the choir has performed in San Francisco, Chicago, Toronto, New York City, and New Orleans. Founded by Jon Peterson in 1967, East Singers was the first choir from Nebraska to be selected to sing at a East national ACDA convention (Kansas City, 1970). Under Singers “Pete’s” direction, the East choral department was distinguished as one of Nebraska’s finest for Lincoln East nearly three decades. Led by Brett Epperson since the fall of 2013, Singers has had the privilege to collaborate with many of the Midwest’s finest collegiate choral programs, including Millikin University, Nebraska Wesleyan University, University of South Dakota, University of Missouri-Kansas City, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and Luther College. Titan Singers is an auditioned choir made up of students Titan in grades 10-12 at Norris High School. Titan Singers Singers meets every other day for 50 minutes and performs Norris High a number of times, including District Music Contest, each year. In the fall of 2009 and 2014, the Norris High School Titan Singers were selected to perform at the Nebraska Music Educators Association Conference. Titan Singers has also performed with the Lincoln Choral Artists, Nebraska Wesleyan University Singers, University of Nebraska – Lincoln University Singers, Beatrice High School Concert Choir, and Beatrice Regional Orchestra. “I don’t sing because I’m happy.
