Multiple intelligence will also be a result in this kind of education. Specifically in BSHS, students together with teachers are not only focusing to the academic performance but also to the exemplary skills of the students like in sports, music, arts, etc. Moreover, it will propose an inclusive education. There are no limits learning just like what is happening today in BSHS. The school is open to all kind of learners. Time to time, every things will change because nothing is permanent. opinion bbaranrenyseayusr aur Helpful or Pitfall? JENNY S. “Students’ progress do not depend CARANDANG on learning tool, but on how the [email protected] way it used” Sports Editor Balayan Senior High School strengthens collaborative 1 | CONQUER learning as a helpful tool in learning process. Variety of learning tools were widely used by teachers to improve student knowledge and skills and in line with that, the Department of Ed- ucation implemented the collaborative learning program to pro- mote engagement with students learning process. However, col- laborative learning was somewhat senseless to others for it only cause students to have leisure time yet it was still to be effective as Balayan Senior High School learned valuable skills in enhanc- ing the program. Eleazar Magsino, the principal of the school noticed the progressive outcome of implementing collaborative learning in student participation in class and collaboration in doing group projects for it showed solidarity on BSHS. Moreover, collaborative learning on students social skills were also acknowledge by their teachers for it was clearly seen that the program engaged students in sharing ideas with their peers. On a poll survey conducted by the students of BSHS, out of 50 students from Humanities and Social Sciences of Poseidon, 41 agree that collaborative learning help them in getting through with their load of school stuff to do while 9 disagree that it was effective in doing tasks. Notwithstanding, others perceived collaborative learning a burden because their class hours were extended by the teachers for there’s one hour to spend in collaborative learning. As a result, instead of leaving school early they always went home late which also decreases their time in doing household chores. Taking into every account, nothing can detract that though there are certain demerits with this program the merits of it were clearly evident for those who collaboratively work to complete tasks and achieved specific goals within the classroom. By and large, it is in the palm of our hands whether to use collab- orative learning wisely or abusively.

Truly, reinforcing the methodology by no homework policy is 1 | CONQUER an open door for improvement. \"Dreamland on Weekends\" this is an adequate term a Filipino could use to describe the benefits of House bill no. 3611 or also called \"No Homework Policy\". The traditional methodology of learning in which education was being brought to home was revoked by DEPED as proposed by the legislators at House of the Representatives. Banning teachers of giving assignments as a requirement from kinder to grade 12 and also the suggestion that activities should only be done within the school premise are the features of this bill. Statement released by the DEPED on August 28 stated that the policy will give time for the students to spend with their parents as well as their friends. This only shows that having a social life which is not school based or academic root is an important thing. The students will also have the chance to have fun without doubting that they have an academic task to finish. According to Mark Hernandez a student of HUMSS 12 Poseidon the bill also reduce the stress of the students. It is actually a natural fac- tor to feel that feeling especially when hell week comes but the thing here is that too much is abysmal, it could affect the mental health of an individual that will caged them to the mentality that grades is more im- portant than their personal health which is absurd. Sir Manuel Magsino in the other hand claimed that the No Homework Policy, aside from the benefits to the students has also a good impact to the teachers, same with the students they will also have the time to relax and hang-out in weekends. He strongly believes that the policy is an advantage to both parties. In contrast with these some are insisting that homework helps the students to be a responsible and disciplined in terms of time that is why it shouldn't be created in the first place. Learning is a broad term it is not a frame that should only be placed in particular location . As a matter of fact learning is not only happening in school. There are lesson that can only get outside the aca- demic field. In the end No Homework Policy is just a strategy from the gov- ernment, people have to engrave to their minds that true learning and discipline start from home.

The school focuses on the mandatory of having proper school uniform rather than having a P.E. uni- form because it is more important thing to do. The school gives the students their freedom to wear any suitable P.E. uniform as long as they want to learn. As a student, it doesn’t matter what you wear but how dedicated are you to your studies. Moreover, as year passes by school uniforms didn’t support by some students and BalSeHigh has a constant opinion to the aforementioned issue that tends to lean an aftermath effect. One of the students of Balayan Senior High School said that dress code has a very large influence on how students feel through- out the day and she stated also that wearing school uniforms makes her sad honestly, but if she wears her own clothes she would be more comfortable and happy. According to Marilou Orence, the mother of student studying in Balayan Senior High School said that it’s a waste of money, fabric and closet space. As long as her daughter is wearing presentable and studies hard school uniform doesn’t matter. “I wear black pants, slacks, polo, and blouses to school for almost every day. It doesn’t matter what you wear with a probable reason, its how you apply yourself and how I educate my students”, uttered from a teacher in Balayan Senior High School. Administrators constantly say that they enforce rules, like school dress codes to promote a more comfortable and welcoming environment to the school. School uniform is an important element of the school and student’s life. It has numerous benefits as it encour- age positive social interaction among students. But what many students say, school uniform left them of an uneasy and uncomfortable feeling. They only have a small presenta- tion of freedom of expression as inclined with different social norms in high school excluding the strengthened restriction of dress code. There’s an increasing rate of students, parents, and some of teachers does not support school uniforms based on data from Ba- layan Senior High School. Most people spend too much worrying about it. As long as students are paying attention in the class and productively working, it’s enough to conclude that school uniforms do not really matter.

In BalSeHi, “Excellence is a Culture.” Here, the focus is given to how teachers in higher educa- tion can create culture of excellence among groups of students. Students tend to ask their teachers if they will send the soft copy of their presentation in their group chat. But, it is really necessary to send the soft copy of the presentation that teacher use in class? If ever, giving soft copy to the students will surely help the stu- dents in their study. Giving soft copy to the student can help not just to stu- dents but also to teachers most specially in discussion. Instead the students are writing while the teacher is discussing, students are just listening and focusing to what the teacher is saying. This will also help the students to have a short time to pass it with their other classmate. In just one click of the send button it is al- ready spread out. And lastly, it will help the student to easily re- call the lesson of the teachers, sometimes student can’t write the lessons on their notebooks because of the fast discussion by the teacher. Giving soft copy really helps the students in their study. It really gives benefits to the students, because they will use it every time they didn’t bring the hard copy of it. This will also receive as their toll to recall their lessons anytime and anywhere because it is on their gadgets. That’s why it is really necessary to give stu- dents the soft copy of their lessons. Students have responsibilities to use soft copy and right to use soft copy. Because this will help them on their study and also provide them an alternative learning.

It gives students a chance to expand their views in the world and grow as they meet people who they can share their inter- ests and passion. Moreover, student organizations help strengthen leadership skills. According to Jayson Louise Baustista, Former SGC president, he and the other officers are doing everything possible with their best to settle the school and fellow students even though there are many activi- ties in class. He said that being consistent on service must be, because students give you the power to lead them for good, so action is needed as soon as possible whatever problem it is. And last, he mentioned that the only hardest thing of being student leader is planning on what activi- ty or project they can propose because in order to establish it they must consider the safety and what situation might happen for them to easily execute an action. Sir EleazarMagsino, Principal II said that MPS must be 75% based on the Division Educa- tion Development Plan (DEDP) enhance School Improvement Plan for three years as they had a problem analysis that popped up during the pre- vious batches that initiated such programs. BSHS IMPROVE STUDENTS’ PERFORM Preparing College ready STEM students SLEP is meant to improve the already existing skills of the students by reviewing and teaching different math and science topics that are possi- ble to appear in entrance exams they will take in the future, and in this way they will be able to produce college ready students. “My math skills became better after SLEP because we learned to solve math problems using differ- ent methods and it made it easy for us to solve them in class, so I think the program should be continued.” Gemaree Angelica Mulingbayan, a Grade 11 STEM student said. The program did not have that much data to prove the improvement of students since it did not provide any type of before and after results, but the teachers did see improvement in class and by using the last batch of STEM as reference they are is expecting that the current batch will pass the college entrance exams.

Strengthening ABM 12 reminisce students’ competency According to Mrs. Irish Joy Inciong, Teacher II of Balayan Senior High School, SSSASS support the imple- mentation of Enhanced School Improvement Plan (ESIP) of the school that was helpful for all ABM students to im- prove business and management skills. The said project has three components; tutorial for applied and specialized subject, review classes to identify those students who are capable and ready to take National Certificate II (NCII) for book keeping and last, the conduct of workshops, seminar and trainings that will link students to industry players. “Project SSSASS has a big impact because without it we won’t be trained in different specializations of our strand especially on how to become a good manager and entrepreneur and it was very evident for us to have knowledge on fields outside the classroom with the help of the guest speakers”, John Diether Plata, ABM 12 stu- dent said in an interview. ANCE THRU SLEP SSSASS AND FCSDW Boosting HUMSS 12 students’ confidence Aiming to produce HUMSS students confident about themselves for any kind of performance, BSHS in coordination with Bahay ng Sining conducted a drama workshop to help students to boost self- confidence. According to Maam Aprilyn Gatpandan, HUMSS 12 Teacher III, the workshop was not chosen by the teachers alone as they referred to the humani- ties curriculum guide that states there is a need for HUMSS students to undergo on a drama workshop and it is under creative writing, aspect of literature that focuses on drama as I also see potential in the students. “I really learned a lot in the workshop, I never imagined that it was totally a whole thing compared to the basic thing that I know.
