WEEK On this week, we prepared for our upcom- ing recruitment week for the Airline Busi- ness Administration students and especial- ly for the new students who wish to join our group. Joining our group is going to be a lot of fun as they benefit a lot from it. The re- cruited members will be given an I.D. lace, and a journal notebook that has all the ABA activities on it. We prepared and exerted a lot of effort from this including the designing of our booth and recruiting members all around the campus. Inviting as many students as possible are our main goal because this will also raise fund that will be the main budget of our society in the future activities of ABA. All other courses are having a hard time too in preparing and recruiting the students, we’ve seen their hard work and passion for their course. We also have those kinds of people in our society as well. In the end of the week, we recruited enough students and raised funds for the upcoming activi- ties. These are all worth it to be working hard for because in the end, these sacrifices and efforts are for the course and for the learnings.

Last September 22, 2019, we had our general assembly of all Airline Business Administration students. We also invited an ABA alumni to be the speaker of the main event. He taught us a lot about his experiences and his benefits from study- ing in our course. We truly have a lot of benefits from this course because our course is flexible and have a very wide range of specialty. This event was very successful and it was so great seeing people dressed as the Men In Black theme. Some students ex- erted a big effort to their costume to be outstanding and some are just simple Men In Black character from the movie. The event went successful, all the tech- nical department and the food depart- ment did a great job doing their work. The food, drinks and desserts were very satisfying and we are happy to say that is was all worth it.

A very wonderful and fantastic performances again stunned the audi- ence of the 34th ABA day special event as we celebrate 34 years of excellence in our course Airline Business Admin- istration. Performers had 2 to 3 weeks of prepa- ration to this event because this is a big event for ABA. All of the contest- ants also did a very long preparation for this. Two group performed a dance that is related to logistics and the main theme “ A Boundless Arabia.”. The per- formers and contestants were stun- ning as they wear their costumes themed Aladdin and for the contest- ants, they are themed Arabian. The preparation for this event was very tiring and we are all exhausted from it but in the end, it is all worth it because we made the crowd satisfied and hap- py from our performances.

A ToaJsotyfoFrotuhnedaCthioilndren's On this day December 13, 2019, the ABASOC of- ficers planned and prepared for an event that will spread joy and happiness for the children be- fore the Christmas and holiday begins. They went on a trip to the less fortunate students and they did everything they can do make them happy. They fed each and every one of them as they ac- company them during their meal and they also prepared a lot of games for them because chil- dren loves playing games and challenging mo- ments. This is an act of kindness to commemo- rate Jesus Christ’s birthday as he said that we should love and care for others even if we don’t know them. We are told to spread love and pray every day for the blessings we receive. Let us con- tinue being a good disciple of Jesus Christ and

Whenever we are at bad times and moments in life or whenever we are angry, let us set aside our anger and relax by listening to songs that makes us think and priority love first.

On this day, January 29, 2020, the ABASOC invited some ABA students for the quiz bee event. This quiz bee will have two parts or rounds, one day for the elimination round and another day for the championship round. The picture in this both sides are the day of the elimination round which took place in the classroom. Participants who were qualified in the championship round have to review well in their final round because this round will be the last day of the quiz bee. They are given different topics that they need to review for the said quiz bee topic and it comes to an easy round, moderate and hard. The topics on the quiz bee should be reviewed well because the questions are for their age and their knowledge or learnings. Quiz bees are meant to teach students about certain subjects and test their knowledge. Students will also learn about this as they make their mistakes and the officials stated the correct answer. It is important to have more events like this to practice our minds and test our knowledge and skills.

The Sportsfest 2019 was the very chal- lenging time for the athletes in our course. They have to compete with other courses for the trophy on being the champion of the year 2019. Ms. Dianne Del Rosario Mascardo RS Components Corporation Regional NCOS for Southeast Asia 1. In your own experience, how flexible was it to be a BS ABA graduate in terms of finding job opportunities? ABA has its exposure to Marketing, Aviation and Logistics Industries that makes it broader compare to the other Business Administration. It is a good credential for ABA Graduates because companies can get a Marketing and Airfreight major in just one person, and in return it is such a great advantage for us. I started off in Logistics company (shipping line) as part of Marketing department, though it is a shipping company, I was offered a higher position in a span of 1 year because they know that aside from work performance, I have an advantage on education credential having this double major course. 2. Was taking up BS ABA your first choice? If yes, what is/are the factor/s have you consid- ered in choosing BS ABA? If not, what made you want to pursue BS ABA? Yes, my father is a PATTS Alumnus and aircraft mechanic. Hence, my childhood evolves in my admiration to his profession but part of me is into airfreight management, to be a Cabin Crew is my Plan B too. So instead of taking BS AMT, I proceeded with ABA. 3. As a BS ABA graduate what message do you wish to impart to the current BS ABA students? Some of you may be weary, it’s ok. Some were just advised to take ABA, they just followed and it’s okay. Some were eager and in full heart on it, it’s ok too. Just keep in mind that everything happens for a reason. You are in ABA and it is your stepping stone, you are ought to give your best, you will earn the fruits of your labor once you became a professional. I was in your place before and very thankful that I chose ABA. I earned two majors in 4 years while others earning it for 8 years. Do not waste your advantage. Be empowered. 4. In terms of applying in an airline industry, does being a BS ABA student serve as an edge? It depends. ABA is focus on internal and operations management, so we have the edge on it. So focus on our edge, like air cargo, Airline operations, etc. instead of frontline jobs. 5. If you were given a chance to shift to another course when you were studying, would you choose to stay in ABA or shift to another course? I will still choose ABA over other courses because I am enjoying Marketing and dynamics of Airfreight Operations.
