Day 01, May 04, 2018: We travelled to Philadelphia via Delhi and London. Day 02, May 05, 2018: Our flight landed at Philadelphia at 1:30 pm local time. Avik came to receive us at the airport and took us to our hotel in a rented car. The name of the hotel is “Aloft Hotel”, which Ayan had booked for us. The hotel had a fantastic lobby and our room was also very nice, overlooking the main area of Philadelphia. Gavin’s family and dinner: Gavin’s family invited us to dine with them at a restaurant in Philadelphia. They were very nice to us and we gave them a packet of tea from India. Day 03, May 06, 2018: Diner with Professor Dan: We had dinner at “Noord”, we mainly had sea food. Ayan and Avik both went and Professor Dan was very nice to us. We talked about India, education in India...and education in the US. It was a pleasant evening and after dinner we went back to our hotel. This Hotel is beautiful, has high ceilings and a huge lobby. There is an excellent collection of books, kept with utmost care in huge cupboards. The ladies at the reception were very friendly and welcoming and soon made us feel comfortable and homely. Day 04, May 08, 2018: Ghost Robotics Office and Workshop: We had lunch at “Naf Naf”, mainly of Middle Eastern food, consisting of rice, freshly prepared salads. It is a very popular place and was new to me and we enjoyed the food! Ayan took us to Ghost Robotics office and workshop. We saw a bigger version of the robot, “Vision” Avik and Gavin introduced us to their colleagues and explained what the robot can do. At the Sea Port Museum

Day 05, May 08, 2018: Seaport Museum: Avik took us to Seaport Museum. We walked about 2 km to the Museum. Submarine: There was a submarine and we went inside it, went to the cabins, saw the bunkers, meeting room, engine room and kitchen! It was an experience which I shall never forget. Rodin’s Sculpture Museum: Garden Artwork

Day 06, May 09, 2018: Rodin’s Sculpture Museum: It houses bronzes, marbles and plaster collections, created by Auguste Rodin. It is a marvellous museum. The work of art is historic and any word of appreciation would be too little! There is a wonderful garden in front and it uplifts the look of the entrance to the museum. Museum of Natural Science

Day 07, May 10, 2018: Today we went to the Museum of Natural Sciences. It was huge and consisted of many floors and in each there were exhibits of similar categories. It has a huge collection of Dinosaur skeletons, butterflies and other rare and wonderful species. We had dinner at Shake Shack, which is famous for burgers and shakes.

Day 08, May 11, 2018: Hilbert: We had lunch at a restaurant then went to Avik’s apartment where we met Hilbert for the first time! He is a loving and friendly cat and we all liked him. Avik’s study Hilbert and Ma Park Some outing It’s coffee time

Day 09, May 12, 2018: Our last day at Philadelphia. We were feeling sad today. We spent as much time with each as possible. We had breakfast, sat in the lobby of the hotel. Then did our final packing. We had lunch at “Parliament”, walked a little then came back to hotel. Avik and Sarah bid us goodbye and Ayan dropped us at the airport. Our flight to Heathrow was on time.
