The Rasberry Crazy Ants By: Kody Krause

The Origin ● The orgin of the crazy is still unknown some say South America ● Some say Houston, but was for sure found in the Americas

Transportation ● The crazy ants were most likely transported by ship either from the Houston Harbor or down close to the Panama canal

Biological Threat ● This ant isn’t like any other ant ● They are a big threat to many other ant species, and even bigger species including small cows ● they reportedly displaced all other ant species and caused small livestock (e.g. chickens) to die of asphyxia. Larger animals, such as cattle, were attacked around the eyes, nasal fossae and hooves.

Efforts to eradicate my invasive species ● These pest are very uncontrollable but efforts are being made to decrease the amount of Crazy ants in the US ● Pest management professionals need access to an entire infestation in order to achieve an acceptable level of management. Otherwise, the population will rebound from surrounding, untreated sites within a month. ● I ugre you not to travel with these ants anywhere we need to keep them contained
