TIM DONWORTH Tim has been surrounded and consumed by horses all his life having grown up on his family's Roundhill Stud in county Limerick, Ireland. His parents have been highly successful breeders and consignors for over 40 years so Tim learned to be a horseman from day one. He was very fortunate to have seen the development of some great horses such as Rizeena, Puissance de Lune and Zabeel Prince on the farm. Having known from an early age that training was his passion, Tim focused on gaining valuable experience with some of the best people in the industry. He rode successfully as an amateur jump jockey for some of the best trainers in Ireland and in 2015 he was Ireland’s champion novice point to point rider. After graduating from the University of Maynooth with a business degree, Tim joined the team of William and Maureen Haggas in Newmarket as an assistant trainer, where he worked with some of the most talented horses in the the United Kingdom at that time. Following his time in Newmarket Tim was selected for the prestigious Godolphin Flying Start program, which allowed him to gain invaluable experience in both breeding and training all around the world. During his time on the Flying Start, he had the opportunity to work with trainers such as Peter Snowden in Sydney, Tom Morley in New York and Clive Cox in Lambourn. After graduating from the Godolphin Flying Start Tim set sail for France where he worked as the assistant trainer to Nicolas Clement in Chantilly. He spent two years with the Clement team during which time Tim and Nicolas shared success at Group 1 level. Tim then went to work with French Champion trainer Jean Claude Rouget. Throughout his time with Monsieur Rouget, he worked in the stables of both Pau and Deauville as well as doing the winter meeting at Cagnes sur Mer. With a great deal of experience and being a fluent French speaker Tim is now embarking on his own training career in France's most prestigious training centre, Chantilly.

THE YARD Set in the heart of the training center of Chantilly, the yard is ideally located between the two main areas of the training grounds. It provides easy access to « Les Lions » and « Les Aigles » and it's a mere few minutes away from the racecourse. It has been home to a great deal of Group 1 winners through the years and is one of the town's most recognised stables. It has had winners of the Arc de Triomphe, Poule d’Essai des Poulains, Grand Prix de Paris and the Prix du Jockey Club trained from its boxes.

THE TRAINING CENTER Since 1956, 55% of Group winners in France have been trained in Chantilly. Tim has access to all of the fantastic gallops and training facilities in Chantilly as well as the racecourse, which is managed by France Galop. Engulfed in 1500 hectares of forest, Chantilly has 120 hectares of grass gallops along with a huge range of training tracks on sand and poly track. It also has a state of the art wood chip gallop that has been installed this year. Chantilly training center is located within a timeless setting that is the envy of the world. It is one of the most peaceful and natural environments for racehorses to be trained, with the morning silence being only interrupted by the sound of galloping hooves. Located just 15 minutes from Paris Charles de Gaulle airport and a mere 20 minutes train trip from Paris, Chantilly it is effortlessly accessible for owners abroad. Spending a morning on the tracks in Chantilly is an altogether unique visual experience.

RACING IN FRANCE France has Europe’s best prize money! With an average purse of €25,000 per race, French racing is primarily financed from the turnover of its betting. This is proven to be the best model and allows the sport's governing body France Galop to redistribute roughly over €250 million each year, including premiums to winning owners. Prize money goes down to a minimum of fifth place for all races run in France. France Galop offers generous Owners' Premiums for horses that finish in the first five places in any race (stretch to the first seven in certain races) on top of the prize money won: 60 % of prize money won for 2 and 3 year-olds 45 % of prize money won for 4 and 5 years-olds. France has more racecourses than any other country in Europe and with also having easy access to Germany or Italy, it provides opportunities for horses at all levels.
