SIX WEEK PROGRAMME FOR CLASS I



KEY CONCEPTS OF SCHOOL READINESS PROGRAMME Providing positive support for children's various skills. Helping children develop imaginative and creative story telling through interactive approaches. Buildmg children's self-esteem and self-confidence in their abilities. Making school enjoyable through interactive learnding and letting the child to develop interest. Using the Reading With CARE building blocks: C-A-R-E  Commenting and describing pictures  ASking open-ended questions, such as predicting; what comes next2  Responding with encouragement and praise to children's efforts  Expanding on what the child says

Week –1 : Day 1-4 .Gather Students information .First meeting with students along with parents .Give additional details for students engagement. Day 5 & 6 •Arrange the Students in Alphabetical Order ( Not to separate Boys and Girls) •Divide them into Eight small groups –One Teacher to be with 4 groups •Introduce the members of the group to each other •Initiate Ice-Breaking Activities Week –2 •Recall and Review Pre –School Knowledge from individual students •Engage them with small, brief joyful acts including TPR activities

Week –3 •Teachers to swap the Groups and continue the activities of Week 2 •Both the Teachers to work in tandem by dividing the tasks Week –4 •Merge four of the groups each to form two large groups •Each Teacher to initiate large group interaction with one group •Recall and Review pre –school activities including Rhymes and Songs •Introduce the Do’s and Don’t’sto the students and parents to make presence in the online environment pleasant and disturbance less Week –5 •Knowing and Sharing Students’ Capabilities in one or more of the following: •Singing •Story telling •Dancing •Drawing and Painting •Craft Activities, etc.

Week –6 Virtual Tour of the Vidyalaya ( Movie or PPT with images ) •Morning Assembly and Vidyalaya Prayer (to be played daily thereafter) •Vidyalaya Building including classrooms •Children’s Part and / or Play Facilities •Resource Room •Computer Lab •Interesting Paintings and other works of Art available in the Vidyalaya •Introduction of Principal, VP, HM preferably in a live class Introduce variety of activities one by one during this week
