DAY 1Destination: Windhoek……………………………………………………………………………Arrival at the Windhoek International Airport. Hereyou will be met by your personal Guide/Driver for thefollowing 15 days. He/she will welcome you and assistyou with your luggage before we proceed toWindhoek, the Capital of Namibia.Check in to the historical Hotel Heinitzburg, built in anelegant castle with a superb view of Windhoek. In theafternoon we undertake an interesting andinformative city tour.Sight-seeing through Windhoek, the capital ofNamibia. The city is considerably enhanced by statelyhistoric buildings in German architectural style of theturn of the century. You can visit these old buildings,which lend a singular charm to the city, including thehistoric seat of government also known as the‘Tintenpalast’ meaning palace of ink in German. Nextto the Tintenpalast, the Christuskirche with itsgraceful sphere provides the city with a strikinglandmark. The white – walled Alte Feste, which wasonce a fort and is now a museum, reflects the historyof the country. Windhoek lies 1650m above sea level.The population of Windhoek consists of only 300 000people which nevertheless makes Windhoek thelargest city in the country.The largest portion of Windhoek’s population stays inKatutura, the Bantu speaking – suburb of the city.Katutura is an Oshiwambo word meaning: “the placewhere we do not want to stay”.All along “Independence Avenue”, the former“Kaiserstrasse” (German for “emperor’s street”), onecan see the old, colonial houses next to the buildingsof the modern, post – independence Namibia.

DAY 2Destination: Windhoek - Kalahari……………………………………………………………………………After breakfast we depart via Rehoboth into theoutskirts of the Kalahari. Afternoon arrival and checkin. The afternoon can be spent in leisure or on asunset drive through the golden- red dunes of theKalahari. DAY 3Destination: Kalahari - Sossusvlei……………………………………………………………………………Today our journey takes us into the heart of theNamib Desert. We drive via Maltahöhe and throughthe Tsaris Mountain range with many photoopportunities in this bizarre landscape.Arrival and check in.

DAY 4Destination: Sossusvlei……………………………………………………………………………Early morning departure to the sand dunes atSossusvlei – the best photo opportunities are justafter dawn.The last 5 km to the dunes we drive through verythick sand. At the vlei you have the opportunity toclimb one of the highest sand dunes in the world.This is a dune wonderland, with towering dunes up to300m high surrounding a huge, dried-up pan. Dunesextend as far as the eye can see and their rich tintsvary from pale apricot to vivid reds and oranges.During a good rainy season, the Tsauchab River flowsinto the pan and creates a heaven for water birds.Even during the dry season, oryx, springbok andostriches can be seen feeding off the sparsevegetation along the water course.Afterwards we drive to the sesriem canyon.At the entrance to Sossusvlei is the Sesriem Canyon,where centuries of erosion have incised a narrowgorge about 1 km in length. At the foot of the gorge,which plunges down for 30m to 40m, are deep poolsof water which become replenished after good rains.Sesriem derives its name from the time when earlypioneers tied six lengths of rawhide thongs togetherto draw water from these pools.After this exciting morning you will enjoy theafternoon at the swimming-pool.

DAY 5Destination: Namib Desert - Swakopmund……………………………………………………………………………Our journey continues to the coastal town ofSwakopmund. We drive through canyons andmountain passes with contrasting landscapes, whichare ever changing and emphasize the beauty andopen spaces of the oldest desert in the world.Arrival in Swakopmund in the afternoon.Dinner in one of the local restaurants in Swakopmund DAY 6Destination: Swakopmund……………………………………………………………………………Breakfast followed by a city tour of Swakopmund. Theremainder of the day can be spent at your leisure.There are many activities on offer in and around thecity which your guide will discuss and arrange withyou.Swakopmund is much loved by Namibians as awelcome respite from the inland heat. It is alsopopular amongst visitors because of its old-worldcharm and relaxed atmosphere.Founded in 1892 during the period of German colonialrule, it served as the territory’s main harbour formany years. The distinct German colonial characterhas been well preserved and today many of the oldbuildings serve a useful purpose.Dinner in a local restaurant

DAY 7Destination: Swakopmund – Cape Cross – Damaraland……………………………………………………………………………After breakfast we drive in a northerly direction viaCape Cross and past the Brandberg to the MowaniMountain Camp in Damaraland.Early afternoon arrival at this exceptional destination. DAY 8Destination: Damaraland……………………………………………………………………………Todays activities include a visit and walking tour tothe rock engravings and paintings at Twyfelfontein,the Burnt Mountain and the Organ pipes.Twyfelfontein, meaning doubtful fountain, lies to thewest of Khorixas and resembles a large, open-air artgallery. This treasure house of rock engravings left bystone-age artists is regarded as one of the richestcollections in Africa.Organ Pipes and Burnt Mountain:South of Twyfelfontein is the Burnt Mountain, apanorama of desolation with coloured rockscontrasting vividly against the grey-blacksurroundings. The Organ Pipes, a mass of basalt slabsin a ravine gouged out by a river, is anothergeological curiosity in the area.The rest of the afternoon can be spent at thisbeautiful lodge.

DAY 9Destination: Damaraland – Himbas - Etosha……………………………………………………………………………We depart via Khorixas and Kamanjab to the EtoshaNational Park. En-route we stop at an OvahimbaVillage.Upon arrival, a guide takes you to a village withinclose range where he will inform you about the Himbatraditions and rituals. Some of the Himbas still liveand dress according to their ancient tradition.We proceed into the Etosha National Park and drive tothe Dolomite Camp in the western part of the Park.This camp is not fenced in – so security is of a highpriority.We are transferred to the reception and check in atthe Camp.Dolomite Camp***The Dolomite Camp is situated in the ecologicallysignificant western part of Etosha, an area previouslyclosed off to tourism, becoming Namibia WildlifeResorts 5th establishment inside the park. Nestled inthe dolomite outcrops of the pristine western Etosha,the camp offers an intimate experience of one of themost scenic areas of the Park, where previouslyendangered species like Black Rhino have beensuccessfully bred.

DAY 10Destination: Etosha National Park……………………………………………………………………………Game drives in the Etosha National Park with safarivehicles.The Etosha National Park, consisting of 22 270 sq kmof saline desert, savannah and woodlands, is one ofthe largest parks in Africa. Its definitive feature is theEtosha Pan, a vast, shallow depression ofapproximately 5000 sq km. For the greater part of theyear, the pan is a bleak expanse of white crackedmud which shimmers with mirages on most days. It isseeing vast herds of game with this eerie „great whiteplace of dry water“ as a backdrop which makes theEtosha experience unique. A total of about 114mammal species are found in the park, includingseveral rare and endangered animals such as blackrhino and black-faced impala. Many bird species occurin the park, of which approximately one third aremigratory, including the European bee-eater andseveral species of waders.Enjoy your dinner on the terrace with a view over thesavannah of the Etosha Park.

DAY 11Destination: Etosha National Park……………………………………………………………………………After an early breakfast we continue in our tourvehicle, driving in an easterly direction towardsOkaukuejo with game viewing along the way.Arrival at Okaukuejo in the afternoon. Before dinner,we will visit the floodlit waterhole – this has proven tobe one of the most spectacular animal activitywaterholes of the park. DAY 12Destination: Etosha National Park – Okonjima……………………………………………………………………………Today’s route takes us via Outjo and Otjiwarongo tothe incredible Okonjima Bush Camp.Late morning arrival at Okonjima and check-in beforelunch and a relaxing siesta.In the late afternoon, join an excursion to view theBig Cats of Africa and the noteworthy work that hasbeen done with them at this exceptional destination.

DAY 13Destination: Okonjima……………………………………………………………………………Our day will be occupied with excursions, lunch andafternoon leopard tracking. Your personal guide willinform you at the dinner table (the previous night)about the daily schedule.Enjoy this day at one of the most informative placesin Africa DAY 14Destination: Okonjima -Windhoek……………………………………………………………………………After our last breakfast in the African bush we departto Windhoek.Afternoon arrival and check in at the hotel.There is enough time to do some last shopping orrelax at the swimming pool with a view over thecapital city of Namibia.

DAY 15Destination: Departure……………………………………………………………………………Today we have to say goodbye after a journeythrough one of the most diverse countries in theworld.Transfer to the Windhoek International Airport.
