A mock fire drill helps the students to be ready and prepared during any emergen- cy situation. The school conducted a mock fire drill on the 10th September 2019 to exercise evacuation methods and familiarize the students with the emergency exits and assembly points. The students evacuated the school building in less than 3 minutes which was highly appropriated.. FIRE DRILL

The Onam festival is celebrated in the Malayalam month Chingam (ending of August and beginning of September). Onam is a harvest festival and celebrates the reward of nature after a year of hard work. Dunes International School draped in Onam colors where the students and teachers experienced the grace of the highly anticipated fes- tival. The teaching and no teaching staff also enjoyed the Onam sadhya together. Onam did bring with a wholesome learning feast to the Dunes Family.

Dunes International School believes in inculcating values to the students through special programs and activities. School Assembly is one perfect platform to disseminate such core and valuable messages to the students. Grade 12 conducted this week’s assembly depicting the theme “Patience ”. Stu- dents delivered the importance of time through a creative advertisement. An instrumental music challenge was performed by the grade 12 boys.

ACTIVITIES GALORE @ DUNES PREMISES Hindi Street Play Competition It is the children of today who will define the nature of a future society through their social action. A street play is an excellent tool to trigger such qualities among the students. Inter-house Hindi Street Play competition’s prelims concluded this week with immense passion as the students depicted the value and importance of Hindi Language through street plays. The best four groups qualified for the finals to be held next week during the final rounds of the school’s Literary Fest.

ACTIVITIES GALORE @ DUNES PREMISES ENGLISH It’s always meaningful when you are aiming at more engaging activities while teaching. It fosters a sense of competence, promotes mastery ori- entation and collaborative learning. Students enjoyed group projects as they were asked to prepare ‘Summary’ Question Bank on high or- der thinking questions, Thematic analysis, working in group of 3-4 of the text “The adventure”. The activity helped the students to understand the text intensively. The students of grade 9 have actively participat- ed and utilised the elements of argumentation with their peer group logically and with credible supporting evidence. They also gained confi- dence in speaking skill.

ACTIVITY ENCLAVE @ DUNES INTERNATIONAL Biology Students did an experiment to study the need for optimum pH for an enzyme to perform. They have compared the ac- tion of salivary amylase en- zyme on starch under vari- ous pH like basic, acidic and neutral. They have ob- served and analyzed that, the optimum pH of the enzyme is nearly 6.8, in which its enzy- matic action will be at peak level. ACTIVITY ENCLAVE @ DUNES INTERNATIONAL MATHEMATICS Students of Grade 9 verified by activi- ty method that, “The diagonals of a parallelogram bi- sect each other”. They enjoyed doing the activity with different parallelo- grams and came up with the correct congruence rela- tion and represen- tation. FRENCH A sentence that negates a particular statement or an affirmative sentence is called a negative sentence. It does not always imply something bad; but, just conveys that a particular, statement or condition is false. Learning Negation in French is fun and that was clearly visible during the activity of writing negative sentenc- es for the given phrases. The student learnt the differ- ent negative forms in French by way of framing sentences.

SOCIAL SCIENCE ACTIVITY ENCLAVE @ DUNES INTERNATIONAL Grade 10 Social Science Activity. Public speaking equips young stu- dents with the skills of thinking clear- ly, speaking persuasively and listening to the opinions of others critically and constructively. It helps young people to test and demonstrate their fluency in English. In order to develop and enhance this skill among the boys of grade 10, they were given the task to speak on the topic 'The great leader of history who inspired you'. The stu- dents participated enthusiastically and spoke confidently. Physics Students of grade 9 exhibited re- ciprocal teaching in which students become teacher in small sessions. Teacher model then help students learn to guide group discussions using four parameters summariz- ing, question generating, clarifying and predicting related to natural resources. Table Tennis Competition Racket and ball games always gives us passionate feeling. Students of grades 6 upwards have attended their table tennis selection trails to represent their houses and the best has been chosen to participate in the inter house table tennis tournament. During the tournament a true spirit of sportsmanship shown by all the participants. Our school play ground filled with ea- gerness and motivation as the students of grades 6 upwards attended their se- lection trails to represent various CBSE cluster school teams on 3rd and 4th September 2019. Almost all the students have participat- ed in this selection trials and gave their best.
