DUNES INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Volume 5 Issue2 ACADEMIC SESSION 2019-2020 20—24 Oct2019 Sneak Peek GLIMPSE OF THE WEEK  Access the digital campus on a regular basis for assignments and circulars.  “Animated Video Making” Competition for grade 6-12  Grade 9 & 11 Extra classes will start from 28th October 2019  PTC will be held on 31st Octo- ber 2019 from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm  Boys to enroll for NUTS “If we exhibit our thinking skills assiduously now, it will guarantee the execution of our future endeav- ors” Our Senior Dunites-9-12 exhibited their creativity radiantly in the DUNES EXPO-2020 EXPLORE OP- PORTUNITIES; an exhibition thematically based on Future endeavors: Future Jobs, The Future Schools, Future Mobility, and The future lifestyle. The School model exhibited, consisted on a wonderful amal- gamation of Artificial Intelligence (AI-technology) in the library, computer lab, laboratories and sustaina- ble play grounds. The visitors did get a sneak peek of what the future is calling us as far as the careers and jobs are concerned. The pavilion exhibiting the future lifestyle gave a hypothetical view of how technology will take control of our daily routine. A spellbinding display of future mobility had everyone transfixed as all the exhibits threw light on the ever-futuristic world of transportation. The best part of the exhibition was students explaining about their exhibits and an insight of their learning from the same. The open ended views and QA session between the students and visitors helped them in boosting their critical thinking and communication skills. Grade 12 grabbed “Career Explorers award \"Grade 11 was honored with “AI Educators award” Grade 10 with “Mobility Designers award” and grade 9 with “Innovative lifestyle award”. Overall, learning and innovation grasped the day at Dunes International School.





Out door experience aims at developing the skills like caring and sharing, self esteem, independence, and responsibility in children through a variety of activities. Dunes International School Organized NIGHT UNDER THE STARS a camping experience for girls from grade 5 to 12on 24th October 2019. A learning experience that suggest the need to re- connect with nature and inspire future generations about the value of the natural world.

A fascinating, fun and interactive Space Show which has taken the learners on a journey through space. Dunes International School organized an edutainment show in the school premises for the students from KG to Grade 2 to enhance student’s learning experience along with academics in coordination with Mystery Domes, UAE.This show was designed to link perfectly with the Curriculum where the children will learn amazing facts about our solar system and beyond, including learning information about our incredible neigh- boring planets. The overall aim was to show, each child who visits the mobile planetari- um that the Universe is a wonderful and intriguing fact and there is so much to see and learn. The Dome show brought interesting faraway mysteries of outer space in our school’s secured environment. Stars, constellations, planets, satellites and other breath taking dimensions of space was brought alive before the eyes of children through ad- vanced 3D projection and state of art audio-visual equipment. The dome created a magi- cal learning environment for our children to learn about the wonders of space.

Tajneed capsule learning moves is a pro- gramme to enhance soft skills among the bus monitors. Dunes Tajneed volun- teers conducted a session on UAE fitness challenge to the bus monitors. In order to meet this challenge, a talk on im- portance of physical fitness was given by Ms. Jesintha and a few warm up activi- ties were conducted by the students. . Different games were conducted in order to help them understand the importance of teamwork, cooperation, tolerance and responsibility in accomplishing any task. All of them had a great time and recog- nized their role in accomplishing the task by coordinating with each other.

Students of grade 7-12 visited Sheikh Zayed cricket stadium to encourage and support UAE cricket team in the ongoing ICC Cricket T20 world cup qualifier tournament as they witnessed UAE Vs Hong Kong match held on 21st October 2019.Our students had the privilege to meet and greet the UAE cricket team players.

School assemblies develop a feeling of unity and a bond among all students and teacher and give an insight of experiential moments with co-curricular activities. Grade 9A Boys presented the assembly on 20.10.2019 based on theme ‘honesty’. The assembly started with prayer followed by National anthem and News reports. A speech on ‘Honesty’ and brain booster session was conducted by the students depicting the importance of ethical principles in the society.

To inspire and empower the students to explore, create and learn in a fun, immer- sive and safe environment. Dunes EXPO-2020 provided the students a unique platform to encourage creativity, innovation, collaboration and exploration inside class room, school and beyond. The Students got an opportunity to showcase their exciting and innovative ideas from EX- PO 2020’s theme connecting minds, creating the future and sub themes of opportuni- ty, mobility and sustainability.  Future jobs  Future Transport  Future School  A daily act which can be en- acted in future

The future belongs to those who can imagine it, design it, and execute it. It isn’t something you await, but rather create. Over the last 2 to 3 decades, technology has become more and more part of our daily lives, to the point where it has taken over our lives. Combining elements of exhibition & acting/dramatization students of grade 9 tried to look beyond the present and de- picted their thoughts within the possible worlds to come. Students were encouraged to present their ideas, innovations, creativity in everyday task and act the way it will be done in future thereby enhancing critical thinking, collaboration and problem-solving

Transportation and communication are vital and very integral components of any city. Until recent years, transportation and communication were treated as two sep- arate fields. As we are moving towards future, need of smart transportation is aris- ing. Combination of transportation and communication falls under smart transporta- tion systems category.

The students of grade 10 came up with an idea or a transportation problem which can be solved by effective communication procedures or devices, it would be a great idea for their exhibition. With the help of their research about recent trends and innovation in smart transportation and try to implement them in our community or city and show effectiveness of communication of solving issues in transportation. Transportation is a field which requires continuous innovation and improvement. They actively presented their innovative ideas through varied projects. Future Sustainable school Grade 11 students organized an exhibi- tion on Future Sustainable school Sustainability focuses on meeting the needs of the present without compro- mising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. It is a whole school initiative, addressing students, parents, teachers and administrative and non- teaching staff. The expected outcome is to reduce environmental footprint and promote sustainability. The concept of sustainability is composed of three pillars: economic, environmental, and social—also known informally as profits, planet, and people.

Grade 12 students exhibited innovative projects with an amalgamation of technology and futuristic job opportunities. The projects and exhibits included opportunities in the fiends of safety, educa- tion, agriculture, health and technology. The students not only showcased their exhibits but also explained it to the visitors on how these fields can attract more people in the future. They focused mainly on sustainable development which would not only benefit us but the field is vibrantly open to invest in for the future endeavors. The Exhibition helped the students develop their creativity, think beyond their normal capacity and boost their presentation skill.

DEAR EXAMS…PLEASE BE NICE!!! This indeed was the prayer in the hearts and minds of Grade 9 to 12 students when they appeared for their PT3 and Half Yearly Exams earlier this month. The students have been studying hard and burning the midnight oil to score good marks in these ex- ams.
