STREET PLAY ON ANTI-BULLYING Anti bullying week observed from 18th to 24th as part of it students of Grade 7 presented street play of ‘No Bullying’ . They created awareness to empower students to make a noise about ‘No bullying’ – whether it is happening to them or to someone else .

Cooperation is important because it allows people and groups to work together to achieve a common goal or derive mutual benefits. The boys of Grade 8 A presented the assembly with the positive vibes and with health and fitness exercise and later they had put up the assembly on the theme cooperation. The boys evoked with the Speech to address and interact with audience to deliver message on cooperation. Later they performed a dance on geometry shapes where they have learned about team work, and cooperation and last but not the least they have ended the assembly with the song on unity which is one of the nutrients (value) present in cooperation. The students learned about the importance of Cooperation and how to cooperate and help each other.

National Day brings with it great memories of this great nation and a reminder of His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s enormous efforts of making this day a trailblazing in the history of UAE. The 48th UAE National Day celebrations at Dunes International School paved an amazing learning path for the students as a it included on multi-aspects of UAE; its history, cultures, tradition, achievements and future endeavors. The school assemblies touched upon each of the aforementioned aspects. Students draped in UAE colors enjoyed this noetic day at school.



Trip to Louvre



Playing sports develop a child’s self confidence and self esteem. Students of grade 6-8 had their sports day preliminary rounds on 25th November 2019. All the students were given equal opportunity and they displayed agility and enthusiastically during their participation.



Tajneed- The capsule Learning Moves\" The Tajneed leadership team of Dunes International School conducted a presentation on the Topic ‘Tolerance at Work place’ to the bus monitors. The goal of this activity was to create an awareness about the importance of tolerance and cooperation at work place. After the presentation, the team was divided into two groups and ‘dog and the bone game’ was conducted which developed concentration and cooperation. It developed togetherness by encouraging collaboration and teamwork. The participants had lot of fun and learnt the skills of team spirit, cooperation and motivation. Tajneed team expressed their gratitude to the bus monitors for their collective efforts in taking care of the children.

Scrapbook book report is a visual summary of learning. The project was given as an enrichment activity for grade 6 students. The activity was a book project template that can be used as an extension activity for the theme HEROISM. Students were able to design a scrap book with write-ups and pictures about the heroes. They admire and related their achievements and qualities with the heroes. The tragedy of Julius Caesar is one of the plays written by Shakespeare based on some true facts from the history. Students of grade 7 explored and discussed the character actions and dialogue and how these reveal and propel the story. The play is based on themes like friendship, treachery, power and patriotism. The play is an example of great characterization, strong dialogues, very clear philosophical ideas, a very gripping plot and lot more. Students learnt the value of friendship and patriotism.

Rectilinear theory of Light Students of grade 6 made pinhole cameras to learn the properties of light . They realized the fact that the image formed in a pinhole camera is always inverted because pinhole cameras rely on the fact that light travels in straight lines – a principle called the rectilinear theory of light. This makes the image appear upside down in the camera. They also made different shadow puppets and analyzed how the properties of a shadow different from that of an image formed by a pinhole camera.

Outdoor learning encompasses the entire range of learning experiences undertaken outside the classrooms. As a part of this learning opportunities students of grade 7 demonstrated the phenomenon of dispersion of light. They were able to connect the phenomenon of dispersion with real life scenarios like rainbow formation, colour of sky etc. Page 13 Sneak Peek

Human Settlement is a form of human habitation which ranges from a single dowelling to large city. Grade 7 students did the activity based on the different types of rural settlements in rural areas based on different geographical conditions. They represented different types of settlement through the diagrams and explained the characteristics of each settlements such as nucleated, compact, scattered and radial settlements. Through this activity students learned about rural society which is sparsely populated with emphasis on agricultural professions. Homogeneity in professions, dress, language and customs of social life is usually found in such people.
