،‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ أَ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ أَن َ ْﻓَ َﻊ ذِ ْ ِ ْى‬ َ‫ا‬ my remembrance, that You raise ‫أَ ْﻣ‬ I ask You Indeed I O Allah! ،‫َ ﻗَﻠْﺒِ ْﻰ‬ ‫ َﺗُ َﻄ ِّﻬ‬،‫ِ ْى‬ ‫َﺗُ ْﺼﻠِ َﺢ‬ ،‫َﺗَ َﻀ َﻊ وِزْ ِ ْى‬ my heart, and You purify my affair, and You set right my burden, and You remove ،‫ َﺗَﻐْﻔِ َ ﻟِ ْﻰ ذَﻧْﺒِ ْﻰ‬،‫ َﺗُﻨَ ِّﻮ َ ﻟِ ْﻰ ﻗَﻠْﺒِ ْﻰ‬،‫َﺗُ َﺤ ِّﺼ َﻦ ﻓَ ْ ِﺟ ْﻰ‬ and You forgive for and You enlighten for my private and You me my heart, me parts, safeguard .‫ ﻣِﻴْ َﻦ‬،ِ‫َأَ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ اﻟﺪ َ َﺟﺎ ِت اﻟْﻌُ ٰﲆ ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟْ َﺠﻨﺔ‬mysins, Ameen. in the Heaven ‫َﻠُ َﻚ أ َن‬of high ranks ‫أ َ ْﺳ‬ and I ask You ،‫ﻟِ ْﻰ ﻓِ ْﻰ َﻔْ ِﺴ ْﻰ‬ ‫ُﺒَﺎ ِ َك‬ ‫اَ إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ in my self, for me that You bless I ask You Indeed I O Allah! ،‫ َﻓِ ْﻰ ُﺧﻠُﻘِ ْﻰ‬،‫ َﻓِ ْﻰ َﺧﻠْﻘِ ْﻰ‬،‫ َﻓِ ْﻰ ُ ْ ِﺣ ْﻰ‬،‫ َﻓِ ْﻰ َ َﺼ ِ ْى‬،‫َﻓِ ْﻰ َﺳ ْﻤﻌِ ْﻰ‬ and in my character, and in my body, and in my spirit, and in my sight, and in my hearing, ،‫َﻓِ ْﻰ ﻋَ َﻤﻠِ ْﻰ‬ ،‫َﻣ َﻤﺎﺗِ ْﻰ‬ ‫ َﻓِ ْﻰ‬،‫َﻓِ ْﻰ َﻣ ْﺤﻴَﺎ َى‬ ،‫َﻓِ ْﻰ أَ ْﻫﻠِ ْﻰ‬ and in my deeds, and in my death, and i‫ﺳ‬nْ mَ‫أ‬yَ living, and in my family, .ِ‫اﻟﺪ َ َﺟﺎ ِت اﻟْﻌُ ٰﲆ ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟْ َﺠﻨﺔ‬ ،‫ﻓَﺘَﻘَﺒﻞْ َﺣ َﺴﻨَﺎﺗِ ْﻰ‬ ‫َﻠُ َﻚ‬ in the Heaven. of high ranks and I ask You my good deeds, so accept (Mustadrak Hakim: 1845) For the benefit of our own-self: َ‫ا‬ ‫ ﺗُ ْﻣِ ُﻦ‬،ً‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ أَ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ ﻧَﻔْ ًﺴﺎ ﺑِ َﻚ ﻣُﻄﻤَ ﻨﺔ‬ that believes contented with You a soul I ask You Indeed I O Allah! .‫ َﺗَﻘﻨَ ُﻊ ﺑِﻌَ َﻄﺎ ِ َﻚ‬،‫ َﺗَ ْ ٰﺿ ﺑِﻘَ َﻀﺎ ِ َﻚ‬،‫ﺑِﻠِﻘَﺎ ِ َﻚ‬ on Your giving. and is content by Your decree and which is in meeting satisfied with You (Al-Mu’jam Al-Kabeer: 7490) To escape from humiliation in this world and Hereafter َ‫ا‬ ،‫أَ ْﺣ ِﺴ ْﻦ ﻋَﺎﻗِﺒَﺘَﻨَﺎ ﻓِﻰ ا ْﻷُ ُﻣ ْﻮرِ ُﳇِّﻬَﺎ‬ in matters all of them, our end Make good O Allah! 99

.ِ‫َأَ ِﺟ ْﻧَﺎ ِﻣ ْﻦ ِﺧ ْ ِى اﻟﺪﻧْﻴَﺎ َﻋَ َﺬا ِب ا ْ ِﺧ َة‬ (Musnad Ahmad: 17176) and the punishment of hereafter. from the humiliation of world and save us To asking for Heaven and get protection from Hell fire ‫اَﻟﻠﻬُﻢ إِﻧِ ْﻰ أَ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ اﻟْ َﺠﻨﺔَ َ َﻣﺎ ﻗَ َب إِﻟَﻴْﻬَﺎ‬ ِ‫َأ َﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟﻨﺎر‬to it and what makes close of Heaven I ask You ‫ ْو‬Iَn‫أ‬deed‫ٍل‬I ْ O Allah! ،‫ﻋَ َﻤ ٍﻞ‬ َ‫ِﻣﻦ ﻗ‬ action, from the fire ‫ﻣِﻦ ﻗَ ْ ٍل أ َ ْو‬in You and I seek refuge or from saying ‫إِﻟَﻴْﻬَﺎ‬ ،‫ﻋَ َﻤ ٍﻞ‬ tْo‫ن‬iَt‫أ‬ ‫َ َﻣﺎ ﻗَ َب‬ action, or from saying ‫َأ َ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ‬and what makes close ٍ‫ﻗَ َﻀﺎء‬ ‫ﺗَﺠﻌَﻞَ ُﰻ‬ judgment every You make that and I ask You .‫َﺧﻴْ ًا‬ ‫ﻟِ ْﻰ‬ ٗ‫ﻗَ َﻀﻴْﺘَﻪ‬ a good one. for me You decreed it ‫ أَ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ‬،‫(َاﻷ َ ْﻣ ِﺮ اﻟ ِﺷﻴْ ِﺪ‬Ibn Majah: 3846, Musnad Ahmad: 25533) ،‫ذَااﻟْ َﺤﺒ ِﻞ اﻟﺸ ِﺪﻳْ ِﺪ‬ َ‫ا‬ I ask You and the guided affairs! O Allah, ِ‫َاﻟْ َﺠﻨﺔَ ﻳَ ْﻮمَ اﻟْ ُﺨﻠُ ْد‬ ،‫ا ْﻷ َﻣْ َﻦ ﻳَ ْﻮمَ اﻟْ َ ِﻋﻴْ ِﺪ‬the Possessor of strong rope, on the day of eternity and paradise on the day of threat, the security ،ِ‫ﻣَ َﻊ اﻟْﻤُﻘَ ﺑِﻴْ َﻦ اﻟﺸﻬُ ْد‬ ،ِ‫اﻟﺴ ُﺠ ْد‬ ‫اَﻟ ﻛ ِﻊ‬ those who prostrate, those who bow down, those who witness, with the near-ones ،ٌ‫ إِﻧ َﻚ َ ِﺣﻴْﻢٌ َ ُد ْد‬،ِ‫اَﻟْﻤُ ْﻓِﻴْ َﻦ ﺑِﺎﻟْﻌُﻬُ ْد‬ Loving, Merciful, Indeed You are the covenants, ‫َأ َﻧ َﺖ‬those who fulfil Ǥ‫َﻣﺎ ُ ِﻳْ ُﺪ‬ ُ‫ﺗَﻔْﻌَﻞ‬ what You wish. do and You This is a long Du’a approved by the Prophet (SAS) and he used to recite this in between Fardh & Sunnah of Salat- ul-Fajr. (Sahih Ibn Khuzaimah: 1054) ‫َﺧ َﻼ ًﺻﺎ‬ ‫أَ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ‬ ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ ،‫ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟﻨﺎرِ َﺳﺎﻟِﻤًﺎ‬ unscathed, from the fire, deliverance I ask You Indeed I O Allah! 100

.‫ِﻣﻨًﺎ‬ َ‫اﻟْ َﺠﻨﺔ‬ ‫َأَد ِﺧﻠْﻨِﻰ‬ with security. in Paradise and enter me (Al-Mu’jam Al-Kabeer: 19225) To seek the company of the Prophet ‫ ﷺ‬in akhirah َ‫ا‬ ‫ َﻧَﻌِﻴْ ًﻤﺎ‬،‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ أَ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ إِﻳْﻤَﺎﻧًﺎ ﻻ َ ْﺗَﺪ‬ and a bliss that does ‫ﲆ‬nٰ otْ‫ﻋ‬gَo‫أ‬ back a belief I ask You Indeed I O Allah! َ‫ َﻣُ َاﻓَﻘَﺔ‬،‫ﻻ َﻨﻔَ ُﺪ‬ .‫اﻟْ ُﺨﻠْ ِﺪ‬ ِ‫َﺟﻨﺔ‬ ‫ﻓِ ْﻰ‬ ‫ﻣُ َﺤﻤ ٍﺪ‬ eternal Heaven. in high rank Muhammad ᤖ and the company of that does not end (Sahih Ibn Hibban: 1970) To seek the company of the Prophet ‫ & ﷺ‬Martyrs in akhirah ،ِ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ أَ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ اﻟْﻔَ ْﻮزَ ِﻋﻨ َﺪ اﻟْﻘَ َﻀﺎء‬ I ask You َ‫ا‬ at the time of judgment, the success Indeed I O Allah! ،ِ‫اﻟﺸ َﻬ َﺪاء‬ ،ِ‫َﻋَﻴْ َﺶ اﻟﺴﻌَ َﺪاء‬ َ‫َﻧُ ُل‬ t،heِ‫ء‬fo‫ﺪا‬rَ tuْ‫ﻋ‬naَ ‫ﻷ‬tْe ‫ا‬on‫ﻰ‬es َ‫ﻋَﻠ‬ and the life of ،ِ‫َ ُﻣ َاﻓَﻘَﺔَ ا ْﻷ َﻧْﺒِﻴَﺎء‬the martyrs, and the accommodation of َ ‫َاﻟﻨ ْﺼ‬ against the enemies. and the victory the Prophets, and the company of This is a long Du’a approved by the Prophet (SAS) and he used to recite this in between Fardh & Sunnah of Salat- ul-Fajr. (Sahih Ibn Khuzaimah: 1054) Du’a when hearing the rooster in the morning Abu Hurairah reported the Prophet (May peace be upon him) as saying: When you hear the cocks crowing, ask Allah for some of His grace, for they have seen an angel; but when you hear an ass braying, seek refuge in Allah from the devil, for it has seen the devil. (Abu Dawood: 5102) You can seek His seek in different‫َﻚ‬waُ‫ﻠ‬yَ s.‫ ْﺳ‬Fَ ‫أ‬or example, you can say: َ‫ا‬ .‫ِﻣﻦ ﻓَ ْﻀﻠِ َﻚ‬ ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ of Your Grace grace/refuge (bounty). I ask You Indeed I O Allah! Du’a on hearing the barking of a dog or braying of a donkey  the Prophet ᤖ said: When you hear the barking of dogs and the braying of asses at night, seek refuge in Allah, for they see which you do not see. (Abu Dawood: 5103) You can seek refuge in different ways. For example, youُ‫ذ‬cْ aُ‫ﻋ‬nَ‫أ‬say: Ǥ‫ِﺟﻴْ ِﻢ‬ ‫اﻟ‬ ‫ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟﺸﻴْ َﻄﺎ ِن‬ ِ‫ﺑِﺎﷲ‬ the rejected one / outcast. from the Shaitan in Allah I seek refuge (Abu Dawood: 5102, 5103) 101

Du’as for meetings & gatherings Saying Salam to everybody (Right of the Muslim - 1)  the Messenger of Allah ᤖ said: You shall not enter Paradise so long as you do not affirm belief (in all those things which are the articles of faith) and you will not believe as long as you do not love one another. Should I not direct you to a thing which, if you do, will foster love amongst you: Spread the greetings among you (by saying as-salamu alaikum) (Muslim: 54)  Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr: A person asked Allah's Messenger ᤖ . \"What (sort of) deeds in or (what qualities of) Islam are good?\" He replied, \"To feed (the poor) and greet those whom you know and those whom you don't know.\" (In Bukhari, 28)  A man asked the Prophet ᤖ , \"What sort of deeds or (what qualities of) Islam are good?\" the Prophet ᤖ replied, 'To feed (the poor) and greet those whom you know and those whom you do not Know (Bukhari: 12) The words used in Islamic Greetings Ǥٗ‫اَﻟﺴ َﻼمُ ﻋَﻠَﻴْ ُﻜﻢْ َو َ ْﺣ َﻤﺔُ ا ِ َﺑَ َ َ ﺗُﻪ‬ (Abu Dawood: 5195, Tirmidhi: 2689) and His blessings and the mercy of upon you Peace be (upon you). Allah Answering the greeting of a disbeliever  the Prophet ᤖ said, \"When the people of Book greet you then say: ْ‫ َﻋَﻠَﻴْ ُﻜﻢ‬, And upon You too.\" (Bukhari: 6258) The etiquette of praising a fellow Muslim  Abd al-Rahman bin Abu Bakra reported on the authority of his father that a person praised another person in the presence of Allah's Apostle ᤖ , whereupon he said: Woe be to thee, you have broken the neck of your friend, you have broken the neck of your friend (he said this twice). If one of you has to praise his friend at all, he should say: I think (him to be) so and Allah knows it well and I do not know the secret of the heart and Allah knows the destined end, and I cannot testify his purity against Allah but (the person appears) to be so and so. (Muslim: 3000) 102

Upon hearing our own praises ‫ َاﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟِ ْﻰ‬،َ‫َﻻ ُ َا ِﺧ ْﺬﻧِ ْﻰ ﺑِ َﻤﺎ َﻘُ ْﻟُ ْن‬ َ‫ا‬ and forgive me for what they say, Don’t take me to task O Allah! Ǥ (َ‫ ) َاﺟﻌَﻠْﻨِ ْﻰ َﺧﻴْ ًا ﻣِﻤﺎ ﻳَ ُﻈﻨ ْن‬،َ‫َﻣﺎ َﻻ َﻌْﻠَ ُﻤ ْن‬ they think (of me). than what better and make me for what they do not know, the words in bracket are carried by Baihaqi from Shuab Al-Iman. (Al-Adab Al-Mufrad: 761, Shuab Al-Iman: 4876) To avoid grandeur and pride َ‫ا‬ ،‫ َاﺟﻌَﻠْﻨِ ْﻰ َﺻﺒُ ْﻮ ًا‬،‫اﺟﻌَﻠْﻨِ ْﻰ َﺷ ُﻜ ْﻮ ًا‬ .‫أ َﻋْﻴُ ِﻦ اﻟﻨﺎ ِس ﻛَﺒِﻴْ ًا‬more forbearing (Patient), and make me more thankful, Make me O Allah! ‫ َﻓِ ْﻰ‬،‫َاﺟﻌَﻠْﻨِ ْﻰﻓِ ْﻰ ﻋَﻴْﻨَﻰ َﺻﻐِﻴْ ًا‬ (MusnadBazzar:4439) great. of people and in the eyes small, in my eyes and make me ،‫إِﻧِ ْﻲ أَ ْﺳﺄَﻟُ َﻚ ﻣُ ْ ِﺟﺒَﺎ ِت َ ْﺣﻤَﺘِ َﻚ‬ َ‫ا‬ َ‫ َﻤﺔ‬Yo‫ﻴ‬uِ‫ﻨ‬r َM‫ْﻐ‬e‫ﻟ‬r‫ا‬cَy ،‫ﺛْ ٍﻢ‬thِ‫إ‬atّ ‫ُ ِﰻ‬which incites َ‫َﻼ َﻣﺔ‬I a‫ﺴ‬sk y‫ﻟ‬o‫ا‬uَ ،‫ َﻚ‬Iِ‫ﺗ‬ndَ eeِ‫ﻔ‬dْ‫ﻐ‬I‫َﻣ‬ O Allah! ‫ِﻣ ْﻦ‬ َ‫َﻋَ َا ِﻢ‬ and benefit from every sin, and the safety of Your forgiveness, and the means .ِ‫ َاﻟﻨ َﺠﺎةَ ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟﻨﺎر‬،ِ‫ َاﻟْﻔَ ْﻮزَ ﺑِﺎﻟْ َﺠﻨﺔ‬،‫ِﻣ ْﻦ ُ ِﰻّ ِ ٍّﺮ‬ from the hell fire. and save through Heaven, and success from every good deed, (Mustadrak Hakim: 29) For the person who loves you Say this to the person whom you love: ‫أُ ِﺣﺒ َﻚ‬ ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ ِ‫ﻓِﻰ اﷲ‬ for Allah I love you Indeed I The other person's reply should be: ‫أَ َﺣﺒ َﻚ‬ .ٗ‫اﻟ ِﺬى أَ ْﺣﺒَﺒﺘَﻨِﻰ ﻟَﻪ‬ for Him. you loved me the one who May He (Allah) love you Narrated Anas ibn Malik: A man was with the Prophet ᤖ and a man passed by him and said: Messenger of Allah! I love this man. the Messenger of Allah ᤖ then asked: Have you informed him? He replied: No. He said: Inform him. He then went to him and said: I love you for Allah's sake. He replied: May He for Whose sake you love me love you. (Abu Dawood: 5125) 103

Du’a to protect from Nifaq (Hypocrisy) & evil attitudes َ‫ا‬ Ǥ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ أَﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟ ِّﺸﻘَﺎ ِق َاﻟﻨِﻔَﺎ ِق َ ُﺳ ْ ِء ا ْﻷَ ْﺧ َﻼ ِق‬ manners and evil and hypocrisy from opposing the in You I seek Indeed I O Allah! (characters). of truth refuge َ‫ا‬ (Sunan Nasa'i: 5471) ُ‫أَﻋُ ْذ‬ ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ ‫ﺑِ َﻚ‬ in You .ِ‫ﻷ َﻫْ َاء‬Iْse‫ا‬eَ k refِug‫ﺎ‬e‫ ِق َا ْﻷ َﻋْ َﻤ‬In‫ﻼ‬dَ e‫ﺧ‬eْ dَ ‫ﻷ‬Iْ ‫ َﻜ َا ِت ا‬O‫ﻨ‬Al‫ﻣ‬lah!‫ِﻣ ْﻦ‬ (Tirmidhi: 3591) and evil desires. and of actions from the evil of morals Du’a to avoid betrayal َ‫ا‬ ،‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ أَﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟْ ُﺠ ْ ِع ﻓَ ِﺈﻧﻪٗ ﺑِﺌْ َﺲ اﻟﻀ ِﺠﻴْ ُﻊ‬ because I seek certainly it is in You refuge .ُ‫َأَﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟْ ِﺨﻴَﺎﻧَﺔِ ﻓَ ِﺈﻧﻬَﺎ ﺑِﺌْ َﺴ ِﺖ اﻟْﺒِ َﻄﺎﻧَﺔ‬companion, bad from hunger Indeed I O Allah! hidden (trait). a evil because from the treachery in You and I seek refuge certainly it is (Abu Dawood: 1547, Nasa'i: 5468) Du’a to avoid bad friends &‫ َﻚ‬cِ‫ﺑ‬ompanioُ‫ذ‬nْ sُ‫أَﻋ‬ ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ ،‫ِﻣﻦ َﺟﺎرِ اﻟﺴ ْ ِء‬ ‫(ﻟَ ٍﺪ‬who is) bad, from a neighbor in َY‫ﻞ‬ou‫ﻗَﺒ‬ I se‫ﻰ‬eْ k ِr‫ﻨ‬eُ‫ﺒ‬fuِّ‫ﻴ‬ge‫ﺗُ َﺸ‬ Indeed I O Allah! ‫َ ِﻣﻦ زَ ْ ٍج‬ ‫َ ِﻣ ْﻦ‬ ،‫اﻟﻤَ ِﺸﻴْ ِﺐ‬ before the old age (who) makes me old & from the spouse ،‫ َﻣِ ْﻦ ﻣﺎ ٍ ﻳ ُﻜ ْنُ ﻋَﻠَﻰ ﻋَ َﺬاﺑًﺎ‬،‫ﻳ ُﻜ ْنُ ﻋَﻠَﻰ َﺑﺎ‬and from the son a that punishment, for me becomes and from the wealth a master, on me who becomes Ǥ‫َ ِﻣ ْﻦ َﺧﻠِﻴْ ٍﻞ ﻣﺎ ِ ٍﺮ ﻋَﻴْﻨُﻪٗ ﺗَ َاﻧِ ْﻰ َﻗَﻠْﺒُﻪٗ ﻳَ ْﻋَﺎﻧِ ْﻰ‬ watches me  and whose whose who is a and from (with bad intent). heart looks at me eye cheater a friend (Tabarani: 1339) Du’a for protection from bad times & bad neighbor َ‫ا‬ ،ِ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ أَﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ ﻣِ ْﻦ ْﻮمِ اﻟﺴ ْء‬ O Allah! from the bad day, in You I seek refuge Indeed I 104

،ِ‫ َ ِﻣﻦ َﺻﺎ ِﺣ ِﺐ اﻟﺴ ْء‬،‫ َﻣِﻦ َﺳﺎﻋَﺔِ اﻟﺴ ْ ِء‬،ِ‫َ ِﻣ ْﻦ ﻟﻴْﻠَﺔِ اﻟﺴ ْء‬ and from bad companion and from bad hours, and from the bad night, .ِ‫ﻓِﻰ دَا ِ اﻟْ ُﻤﻘَﺎ َﻣﺔ‬ ،ِ‫َ ِﻣﻦ َﺟﺎرِ اﻟﺴ ء‬ in the dwelling place. and from bad neighbor, (Al-Mu’jam Al-Kabeer: 14243) For the one who supplicates for our Maghfirah (forgiving)  the Prophet ᤖ said, \"Whoever says ‫( ﻏَ َﻔ َ ا ُ ﻟَ َﻚ‬May Allah forgive you), reply him ‫( َﻟَ َﻚ‬and May Allah forgive you too).\" (Al-sunan Al-Kubra lin-Nasa'i: 10254) ‫ﺑَﺎ َ َك ا ُ ﻓِﻴْ َﻚ‬For the one who asks Allah's blessings for you On hearing the Du’a Ǥُ ‫ﺑَﺎ َ َك اﷲ‬ ‫َﻓِﻴْ َﻚ‬ in you May Allah Bless for Blessings and in you also (Sharah Sahih Al-Adab-ul-Mufrad Lil Albani: 848) may Allah Bless. Ǥ‫َ َﺟ َا َك ا ُ َﺧﻴْ ًا‬ For the one who treats you with good manners better. and may Allah reward you (Tirmidhi: 2035, Sahih Al-Jami’ Al-Sagheer: 6368) For the one who spends wealth ‫ﻟَ َﻚ‬ ُ ‫ﺑَﺎ َ َك ا‬ .‫ﻓِ ْﻰ أَﻫْﻠِ َﻚ َﻣَﺎﻟِ َﻚ‬ you May Allah Bless (Bukhari: 2049) and in your wealth. in your family For the one who has cursed or harmed others ‫ﻓ َﺄ َﻳﻤَﺎ‬ ٗ‫ُﻣ ْﻣِ ٍﻦ َﺳﺒَﺒﺘُﻪ‬ َ‫ا‬ I cursed him believer (to) any of the .ِ‫ﻟَﻪٗ ﻗُ ْﺑَﺔً إِﻟَﻴْ َﻚ ﻳَ ْﻮمَ اﻟْﻘِﻴَﺎﻣَﺔ‬ O Allah! on the day of (a means of) resurrection. closeness ‫ﻓَﺎﺟﻌَﻞْ ذٰﻟِ َﻚ‬ to You for him it so make these are reported in Muslim: ً‫ ﻓَﺎﺟﻌَﻠْ َﻬﺎ ﻟَﻪُ زَ ٰ ةً و َ ْﺣ َﻤﺔ‬Make it a source of purification and mercy for him. Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ᤖ as saying: O Allah, I am a human being and for any person amongst Muslims upon whom I hurl malediction or invoke curse or give him whipping make it a source of purity and mercy. (Muslim: 2601) 105

In the Majlis (Meeting)  Abdullah Bin Umar ‫ ﷠‬narrates, “In one sitting of the Messenger of Allah ᤖ , one could count that he said a hundred times, before he would get up (the following): ،‫َﺗُﺐ ﻋَﻠَﻰ‬ ‫اﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟِ ْﻰ‬ ‫َ ِّب‬ Me, and pardon Forgive me ‫َﻧ َﺖ‬O‫أ‬ my Rabb! .ُ ‫اﻟْﻐَﻔُ ْﻮ‬ ‫اﻟﺘ ا ُب‬ ‫إِﻧ َﻚ‬ (Tirmidhi: 3434) the Oft-Forgiving. the Oft-Pardoning, indeed You are Du’a at the end of Majlis (Meeting)  Mother of Believers, Hazrat Ayesha ‫ ﷞‬narrates that the Messenger of Allah ᤖ used to conclude with the following words when he ᤖ used to sit in a gathering, or recite the Noble Quran or when used to pray salah:  Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah ᤖ said: Whoever sits in a sitting and engages in much empty, meaningless speech and ْ‫أ َن‬ then‫ ُﺪ‬s‫َﻬ‬ay‫ْﺷ‬s َt‫أ‬he following before getting from that sitting of his: that I bear witness ،‫َوﺑِ َﺤ ْﻤ ِﺪ َك‬ ‫ا‬ ‫ُﺳﺒ َﺤﺎﻧَ َﻚ‬ & with Your pِ‫ﻔ‬raْ‫ﻐ‬isَe‫ﺘ‬,‫أَ ْﺳ‬ ،‫ﻻ إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ أَﻧ َﺖ‬O Allah .‫ْ ُب إِﻟَﻴْ َﻚ‬ ُ‫َأ َﺗ‬ Glory be to You ‫ُ َك‬ and I return to You. in repentance I ask Your forgiveness but You, there is no God whatever occurred in that sitting would be forgiven for him. (Tirmidhi: 3433, Al-Sunan Al-Kubra Lin-Nasa'i: 10259) 106

Du’as about Marriage and children Du’a for congratulating the Bride & the Groom ‫ﺑَﺎ َ َك ا ُ ﻟَ َﻚ‬ Ǥ‫َﺑَﺎ َ َك ﻋَﻠَﻴْ َﻚ َ َﺟﻤَ َﻊ ﺑَﻴْﻨَ ُﻜ َﻤﺎ ﻓِ ْﻰ َﺧﻴْ ٍﺮ‬ (between) both and and send May Allah in all good. of you combine upon you blessings you Bless (Abu Dawood: 2130) On the first meeting with wife ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ ‫أَ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ َﺧﻴْ َﻫَﺎ‬ the good of it ُ‫َأ َﻋ‬ I ask You Indeed I O Allah! ‫ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ‬ ،ِ‫ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻪ‬ ‫ﻣَﺎ َﺟﺒَﻠْﺘَﻬَﺎ‬ َ ْ‫َ َﺧﻴ‬ in You and I seek refuge towards [it], what you have made and the good of her inclined Ǥِ‫ﻣِﻦ َﺷ ِّﻫَﺎ َ َﺷ ِّﺮ َﻣﺎ َﺟﺒَﻠْﺘَﻬَﺎ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻪ‬ what you have (Abu Dawood: 2160, Ibn Majah: 2252) towards [it]. made her inclined and the evil of from its evil Before sleeping together Ǥ‫ اَ َﺟﻨِﺒﻨَﺎ اﻟﺸﻴْ َﻄﺎنَ َ َﺟﻨِ ِﺐ اﻟﺸﻴْ َﻄﺎنَ َﻣﺎ َ َﻗﺘَﻨَﺎ‬،ِ‫ﺑِ ْﺴ ِﻢ اﷲ‬ from what You give to the Shaitan and keep from Shaitan Protect O Allah! In the name of us. away us Allah (Bukhari: 6388) After sleeping together َ‫ا‬ Ǥ‫َﻻ َﺠﻌَﻞْ ﻟِّﻠﺸﻴْ َﻄﺎ ِن ﻓِﻴْ َﻤﺎ َ َﻗﺘَﻨِ ْﻰ ﻧَ ِﺼﻴْﺒًﺎ‬ any share. in that You give me for Shaitan Do not make O Allah! (Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaiba: 30353) On greeting of a new born ‫ﺑَﺎ َ َك ا ُ ﻟَ َﻚ‬ ،‫ﻓِﻰ اﻟْ َﻤ ْﻫُ ْ ِب ﻟَ َﻚ‬ to you, ‫ َو ُ ِﻗ َﺖ‬،ٗ‫أَ ُﺷﺪه‬in what is given َ‫َﺑَﻠَﻎ‬ you May Allah bless Ǥٗ‫ﺑِ ه‬ ،‫َ َﺷ َﻜ ْ َت اﻟْ َاﻫِ َﺐ‬ with his and may you be his / her and may to the Giver and you thank dutifulness. blessed youth, he reach 107

In response to the congratulations, one can say: ،‫ﺑَﺎ َ َك ا ُ ﻟَ َﻚ‬ ُ ‫ َ َﺟ َا َك ا‬،‫َﺑَﺎ َ َك ﻋَﻠَﻴْ َﻚ‬ you, May Allah Bless and may Allah reward you upon you too, and bestow blessings ‫ َأَﺟ َلَ ﺛَ َاﺑَ َﻚ‬،ٗ‫ َو َ َﻗَ َﻚ ا ُ ِﻣﺜْﻠَﻪ‬،‫َﺧﻴْ ًا‬Ǥ your rewards. and increase much (a child) like him, and may Allah grant you the best, (Al-Adhkar Lin-Nawawy Page: 349, Tohfatul Maudud Page: 52, Al-Mughni Li Ibn Qudamah: 126/11) For giving the children in the refuge of Allah  the Messenger of Allah ᤖ used to give Hazrat Hasan & Hussain ‫ ﷟‬in refuge of Allah with these words: ‫أُ ِﻋﻴْ ُﺬ ُﻤَﺎ‬ ،ِ‫ﺑِ َﳫِ َﻤﺎ ِت اﷲِ اﻟﺘﺎﻣﺔ‬ (which are) perfect, of Allah in the words I give both of you in refuge Ǥٍ‫َﻣِ ْﻦ ُ ِﰻّ ﻋَﻴْ ٍﻦ ﻻﻣﺔ‬ and from every ،ٍ‫ﻫَﺎﻣﺔ‬ ‫ﻣِ ْﻦ ُ ِﰻّ َﺷﻴْ َﻄﺎ ٍن‬ which afflicts. envious eye (Tirmidhi: 2060) and poisonous from every Shaitan creature, On hearing Good News  Messenger of Allah ᤖ used to say the following on receiving any good news: Ǥ‫اَﻟْ َﺤﻤْ ُﺪ ِﷲِ اﻟ ِﺬ ْى ﺑِﻨِﻌْﻤَﺘِﻪٖ ﺗَﺘِﻢ اﻟﺼﻠِ ٰﺤ ُﺖ‬ the good deeds. are by whose grace who, All praises and thanks (Ibn Majah: 3803) completed are due to Allah Ǥُ َ‫اَ ُ أَﻛْﺒ‬ At the time of pleasure Ǥِ ‫ُﺳﺒ َﺤﺎنَ ا‬ Allah is the greatest. (Bukhari: 510) Glorified is Allah. (Bukhari: 283) Prostration for Giving Thanks on getting Good News  Narrated AbuBakrah: When anything came to the Prophet ᤖ which caused pleasure or was given good news with it, he prostrated in gratitude to Allah. (Abu Dawood: 2774) Seeking tawfeeq (Divine grace) for giving thanks َ‫ا‬ ُ ِ‫ َأُﻛْﺜ‬،‫اﺟﻌَﻠْﻨِ ْﻰ أُﻋَ ِّﻈﻢُ ُﺷ ْﻜ َ َك‬ and increase me to thank You, I revere Make me (such that) O Allah! 108

.‫ َأَ ْﺣﻔَ ُﻆ َ ِﺻﻴﺘَ َﻚ‬،‫ َأَﺗﺒِ ُﻊ ﻧَ ِﺼﻴْ َﺤﺘَ َﻚ‬،‫ذِ ْ َ َك‬ Your commandments. & I safeguard Your advice and I follow in Your remembrance (Tirmidhi: 3967 ) To escape from decline of favors/Blessings ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ ‫أَﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ ﻣِﻦ زَ َا ِ ﻧِﻌْ َﻤﺘِ َﻚ‬ of Your favors, against the withdrawal in You I seek refuge Indeed I O Allah! Ǥ‫َﺗَ َﺤ ِل ﻋَﺎﻓِﻴَﺘِ َﻚ َﻓُ َﺠﺎءَةِ ﻧِﻘﻤَﺘِ َﻚ َ َﺟ ِﻤﻴْ ِﻊ َﺳ َﺨ ِﻄ َﻚ‬ which of Your and the of Your displeases You. and all that punishment suddenness safety and the change (Muslim: 2739) 109

Du’as of eating & drinking (Right of the Muslim - 4) Du’a before eating food  Narrated Umm Kulthum from 'Aishah that the Messenger of Allah ᤖ said: When one of you eats food, then let him say: 'Bismillah.' If he forgets in the beginning, then let َh‫أ‬im‫ ْﻰ‬sِ‫ﻓ‬ay: Ǥٖ‫َ ِﺧ ِﺮه‬ ٖ‫ﻟِﻪ‬ ِ‫ﺑِ ْﺴ ِﻢ اﷲ‬ (Tirmidhi: 1858) and in its end. in its beginning In the name of Allah  the Messenger of Allah ᤖ said, \"Whoever Allah feeds some food, he should say: ‫َأَﻃﻌِ ْﻤﻨَﺎ‬ ِ‫ﺑَﺎ ِ ْك ﻟَﻨَﺎ ﻓِﻴْﻪ‬ َ‫ا‬ Ǥُ‫َﺧﻴْ ًا ِﻣﻨْﻪ‬ than this. better and feed us in it Bless us O Allah! (Tirmidhi: 3455) Du’a after eating food ‫اﻟ ِﺬ ْى‬ ِ‫اَﻟْ َﺤ ْﻤ ُﺪ ِﷲ‬ ،‫أَﻃﻌَ َﻤﻨِ ْﻰ ﻫٰ َﺬا‬ ‫َو َ َﻗَﻨِﻴْﻪِ ﻣِ ْﻦ ﻏَﻴْ ِﺮ َﺣ ْ ٍل ِﻣﻨِ ْﻰ‬fedme Ǥtٍ‫ة‬hi‫ﻮ‬s,ُ‫َ َﻻ ﻗ‬ the one who All praises & thanks are due to Allah and without any power. from my side without any might & provided me it (food) (Tirmidhi: 3458) ً َ ‫َﺣﻤْﺪا َﺜِﻴْ ًا َﻃﻴِّﺒًﺎ ﻣﺒَﺎ‬ ِ‫اَﻟْ َﺤﻤْ ُﺪ ِﷲ‬ ،ِ‫ﻓِﻴْﻪ‬ in it. blessed pure, a lot of praise, All praises & thanks are due to Allah Ǥ‫ﻏَﻴْ َ ﻣَ ْﻜﻔِ ٍّﻰ* َﻻ ُﻣ َ ٍع* َﻻ ُﻣ ْﺴﺘَﻐْﻨًﻰ ﻋَﻨْﻪُ َﺑﻨَﺎ‬ O our Rabb. of it, nor being without the need and not abandoned, not sufficient, (Bukhari: 5458, Tirmidhi: 3456) *Means what is eaten is not sufficient for later but Your blessings are continued in abundance and have no ending. *Wada’a (abandoning or giving up) means It is not our final eating but as long as we live we will be eating. Seeking refuge from starvation ُ‫أ َﻋ‬ ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ ٗ ‫ﻪ‬O‫ِﺈﻧ‬Aَ ‫ﻓ‬llah! ‫ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟْ ُﺠ ْ ِع‬ Indeed I ‫َأَﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ‬from hungerin You I seek refuge ‫ﺑِﺌْ َﺲ‬ ،‫اﻟﻀ ِﺠﻴْ ُﻊ‬ in You and I seek refuge companion, bad because certainly it is .ُ‫ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟْ ِﺨﻴَﺎﻧَﺔِ ﻓَ ِﺈﻧﻬَﺎ ﺑِﺌْ َﺴ ِﺖ اﻟْﺒِ َﻄﺎﻧَﺔ‬ (Abu Dawood: 1547, Nasa'i: 5468) hidden (trait). a evil because certainly it is from the treachery 110

Du’a for the Host by the Guest ‫ﺑَﺎ ِ ْك‬ َ‫ا‬ ‫ﻟَ ُﻬﻢْ ﻓِﻴْﻤَﺎ‬ in what them ْ‫ﻟَ ُﻬﻢ‬ ‫ ْﺮ‬Bِ‫ﻔ‬leْ‫ﻏ‬ss‫َا‬ O Allah! Ǥْ‫َا ْ َﺣ ْﻤ ُﻬﻢ‬ ،ْ‫َ َﻗﺘَ ُﻬﻢ‬ (Muslim: 2042) and have mercy on them. them and forgive You have provided them, Du’a in favor of the Host, wh،o‫ ْﻰ‬aِr‫ﻨ‬r‫ َﻤ‬aَ‫ﻌ‬ng‫ﻃ‬eَ‫أ‬d food and driْ‫ﻢ‬nِ‫ﻌ‬ks‫أ َﻃ‬ َ‫ا‬ Ǥ‫ﻣَ ْﻦ َﺳﻘَﺎﻧِ ْﻰ‬ ‫َا ْﺳ ِﻖ‬ ‫ﻣ ْﻦ‬ O Allah! gave drink the one who and give fed me, the one who Feed to me. drink to (Muslim: 2055, Musnad Ahmad: 23809) Du’a at the time of drinking Milk َ‫ا‬ Ǥُ‫ﺑَﺎ ِ ْك ﻟَﻨَﺎ ﻓِﻴْﻪِ َو ِدﻧَﺎ ِﻣﻨْﻪ‬ (Tirmidhi: 3455) of it. and give us more in it Bless us O Allah! Du’a on seeing new fruit َ‫ا‬ ،‫ َﺑَﺎ ِ ْك ﻟَﻨَﺎ ﻓِ ْﻰ َﻣ ِﺪﻳْﻨَﺘِﻨَﺎ‬،‫ﺑَﺎ ِ ْك ﻟَﻨَﺎ ﻓِ ْﻰ َﻤَ ِﻧَﺎ‬ ‫ ْك‬Oِ in our city, ‫َﺎ‬a‫ﻨ‬nَ‫ﻟ‬d ‫ِ ْك‬bless us in our fruits Bless us‫ﻟَﻨَﺎ‬ Allah! Ǥ‫ﻓِ ْﻰ ﻣُ ِّﺪﻧَﺎ‬ ‫َﺑَﺎ‬ ،‫َﺻﺎ ِﻋﻨَﺎ‬ ‫ﻓِ ْﻰ‬ ‫َﺑَﺎ‬ in our Mudd*. and bless us in our Saa’*, and bless us *Saa’ and Mudd a name of measuring unit. (Muslim: 1373) Du’a to escape from Poverty ‫اَﻟﻠﻬُﻢ إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ ِ‫أَﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟْﻔَﻘ ِﺮ َاﻟْﻘِﻠﺔ‬ a.ndَ‫ﻢ‬sَ‫ﻠ‬ca‫ْﻇ‬rcُi‫أ‬ty ‫أَ ْو‬ َ‫أ َ ْﻇﻠِﻢ‬from poverty in You ‫َأ َﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ‬I seek refugeIndeed I،ِ‫ﺔ‬O‫ﺬﻟ‬Aِّ lla‫ﻟ‬h‫َ!ا‬ ْ‫أ َن‬ ‫ِﻣ ْﻦ‬ or I be wronged. from that I do wrong in You and I seek refuge and humiliation, (Nasa'i: 5460, Abu Dawood: 1544) Du’a for abundance of provision in old age َ‫ا‬ ‫اﺟﻌَﻞْ أَ ْ َﺳ َﻊ رِ ْﻗِ َﻚ ﻋَﻠَﻰ‬ O Allah! on me Your provision (sustenance) wider Make ‫َاﻧﻘِ َﻄ ِع ﻋُ ْﻤ ِ ْى‬ ‫ِﻋﻨ َﺪ ِﺒَ ِﺮ‬ of my age (life). and at the end ‫ِﺳﻨِ ْﻰ‬ (Mustadrak Hakim: 1923) of my age in the old stage 111

Du’as at the time of Sneezing (Right of the Muslim - 5) Du’a on sneezing  the Messenger of Allah ᤖ said: If anyone of you sneezes, he should say 'Al-Hamdulillah' (All praise & thanks be to Allah), and his brother or companion should say to him, ُ ‫( ﻳَ ْ َﺣ ُﻤ َﻚ ا‬May Allah bestow his Mercy on you). When the latter says ُ ‫ﻳَ ْ َﺣﻤُ َﻚ ا‬, the former should say: Ǥْ‫ﻳَ ْﻬ ِﺪﻳْ ُﻜﻢُ اﷲُ َﻳُ ْﺼﻠِ ُﺢ ﺑَﺎﻟَ ُﻜﻢ‬ May Allah guide you your condition. and set right May Allah guide you (Bukhari: 6224) When a disbeliever sneezes ُ‫ﻳَﻬْ ِﺪﻳْ ُﻜﻢ‬  If a disbeliever say ِ‫ اَﻟْ َﺤ ْﻤ ُﺪ ِﷲ‬then you say: Ǥْ‫اﷲُ َﻳُ ْﺼﻠِ ُﺢ ﺑَﺎﻟَ ُﻜﻢ‬ May Allah guide you your condition. and set right May Allah guide you (Tirmidhi: 2739) 112

Du’as about illness and the patient For seeking good health & well being ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ َ‫أَ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ اﻟ ِّﺼﺤﺔَ َاﻟْﻌِﻔﺔ‬ and chastity Health & wellness I ask You Indeed I ،Oَ‫ﺔ‬Aَl‫ﻧ‬la‫ﺎ‬h‫َا ْﻷ َ!َﻣ‬ .ِ‫َاﻟ ِّ َﺿﺎ ﺑِﺎﻟْﻘَ َﺪر‬ with the and to be ‫َ ُﺣ ْﺴ َﻦ اﻟْ ُﺨﻠُ ِﻖ‬ and trust (Al-Matalibul Aliya Li Ibn Hajr: 3347) decree. pleased worthiness, and good morals For a boil or a sore ُ‫أَ ْ ِﺿﻨَﺎ َو ِﻳْﻘَﺔ‬ ُ‫ﺗُ ْﺑَﺔ‬ and the saliva (spit) of our land ،‫ﺑَﻌْ ِﻀﻨَﺎ‬ ‫ﻳُ ْﺸﻔٰ َﺳﻘِﻴْﻤُﻨَﺎ‬ Soil of some of us, .‫ﺑِ ِﺈذْ ِن َﺑِّﻨَﺎ‬ with the permission of our Rabb. our patient will be cured (through the two) ِ‫ ﺑِ ْﺴ ِﻢ اﷲ‬is added before the Du’a in the narration of Muslim. (Bukhari: 5746, Muslim: 2194) On being bitten by poisonous / harmful creatures  Recite Surah Al-Fatihah (Muslim: 2201) Du’a for seeking refuge from deadly diseases ‫أَﻋُ ْذُ ِ َﻚ ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟْﺒَ َ ِص‬ ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ I seek refuge in You Indeed I O Allah! .ِ‫َاﻟْ ُﺠ َﺬامِ َﻣِﻦ َﺳﻴِّ ا ْﻷ َ ْﺳﻘَﺎم‬from the leukoderma* ‫َاﻟْ ُﺠﻨُ ْ ِن‬ and from all bad diseases. and leprosy* and madness (Abu Dawood: 1554) * Leukoderma (‫)ﺑ ص‬: A disease in which white/black/red spots appear on body. * Leprosy (‫ )ﺟﺬام‬is a tropical disease mainly affecting the skin and nerves that can cause tissue change and, in severe cases, loss of sensation and disfigurement that rots the body parts. Seeking refuge from bad death ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ ‫أَﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟﺘ َ ّدِ ْى‬ Indeed I ‫ َأ َﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ‬،‫َاﻟْﻬَﺪمِ َاﻟْﻐَ َ ِق َاﻟْ َﺤ ِﻳْ ِﻖ‬from falling from a high place, in You I seek refugeO Allah! ،‫أ َنْ ﺘَ َﺨﺒ َﻄﻨِﻰ اﻟﺸﻴْ َﻄﺎنُ ِﻋﻨ َﺪ اﻟْﻤَ ْ ِت‬in You and I seek refuge and being burnt and drowning and crushed by a falling wall at the time of death, that Shaitan makes me go astray 113

،‫َأَﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ أَنْ أَ ُﻣ ْ َت ﻓِ ْﻰ َﺳﺒِﻴْﻠِ َﻚ ﻣُﺪﺑِ ًا‬ turning away (fleeing in Your path that I die in You & I seek refuge from battle field), .‫ﻟَ ِﺪﻳْﻐًﺎ‬ ‫َأَﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ أَنْ أَﻣُ ْ َت‬ as a person stung by that I die in You and I seek refuge (Nasa'i: 5531, Abu Dawood: 1552) a poisonous creature. Du’a of the sick for self  Narrated `Aisha: During the Prophet's fatal illness, he used to recite the Mu'auwidhat (Surat An-Naas and Surat Al- Falaq) and then blow his breath over his body. When his illness was aggravated, I used to recite those two Surahs and blow my breath over him and make him rub his body with his own hand for its blessings. (Ma`mar asked Az-Zuhri: How did the Prophet ᤖ use to blow? Az-Zuhri said: He used to blow on his hands and then passed them over his face. (Bukhari 5735)  the sick person in his sickness should recite Surah Al-Ikhlas (‫)ﻗُﻞْ ُﻫ َﻮ ا ُ أَ َﺣ ٌﺪ‬, Surah Al-Falaq (‫)ﻗُﻞْ أَ ُﻋ ذُ ِ َ ِّب اﻟْ َﻔﻠَ ِﻖ‬, and Surah An-Naas (‫ )ﻗُﻞْ أَ ُﻋ ذُ ِ َ ِّب اﻟﻨﺎ ِس‬and blow on his palms and move the palms all over his body. (Bukhari: 5735, Muslim: 2129) The virtues of visiting the sick  It was narrated that ‘Ali said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ᤖ say: ‘Whoever comes to his Muslim brother and visits him (when he is sick), he is walking among the harvest of Paradise until he sits down, and when he sits down he is covered with mercy. If it is morning, seventy thousand angels will send blessing upon him until evening, and if it is evening, seventy thousand angels will send blessing upon him until morning.” (Ibn Majah: 1442) Du’a at the time of meeting the sick ‫َﻻ َﺄْ َس‬ Ǥُ ‫إِن َﺷﺎءَ ا‬ ٌ ‫َﻃﻬُ ْﻮ‬ if Allah wills. (this disease is) purifier (from the sins), No Problem, ،‫ َا ْﺷ ِﻒ أَﻧ َﺖ اﻟﺸﺎﻓِ ْﻰ‬،‫(أَذْﻫِ ِﺐ اﻟْﺒَﺄْ َس َب اﻟﻨﺎ ِس‬Bukhari:5656) the Curer, You are and cure (him), of people, O Rabb the disease Take away Ǥ‫ ِﺷﻔَﺎءً ﻻ ُﻐَﺎدِ ُ َﺳﻘَ ًﻤﺎ‬،‫َﻻ ِﺷﻔَﺎءَ إِﻻ ِﺷﻔَﺎءُ َك‬ any disease. that should not leave (grant such) a cure Your cure, except there is no cure behind (Bukhari: 5750, Muslim: 2191) 114

،‫ﻳ ْ ِذﻳْ َﻚ‬ ‫ ﻣِ ْﻦ ُ ِﰻّ َﺷ ْﻰ ٍء‬،‫ﺑِ ْﺴ ِﻢ اﷲِ أَ ْﻗِﻴْ َﻚ‬ I recite over you (to harms you, from everything that cleanse you) In the name of Allah ،‫َﺣﺎ ِﺳ ٍﺪ‬ ‫أَ ْو ﻋَﻴْ ِﻦ‬ ‫ﻣِﻦ َﺷ ِّﺮ ُ ِﰻّ َﻔْ ٍﺲ‬ ‫ ﺑِ ْﺴ ِﻢ اﷲِ أَ ْﻗِﻴْ َﻚ‬،‫ا َ ُ ﻳَ ْﺸﻔِﻴْ َﻚ‬from (the bad) eyeor of an envier. Ǥ of every living soul from the evil (Muslim: 2186, Tirmidhi: 972) I recite over you. (to In the name of will cure you. Allah cleanse you) Allah  the Prophet ᤖ said, \" If anyone visits a sick person whose time (of death) has not come, and says with him seven times (the following Ǥ‫ﻴَ َﻚ‬pِ‫ﻔ‬ra‫ ْﺸ‬yer)ْ‫ن‬, Aَ‫أ‬ll،a‫ﻢ‬hِ ْ‫ﻴ‬w‫ِﻈ‬illَ‫ﻌ‬cْ‫ﻟ‬u‫ا‬re‫ش‬hِ imْ َ‫ﻌ‬frْ‫ﻟ‬o‫ا‬m that disease. َ‫اﷲَ اﻟْﻌَ ِﻈﻴْﻢ‬ ُ‫أَ ْﺳﺄَل‬ ‫َب‬ to cure you. the magnificent throne, who is the Rabb of Allah the Mighty, I ask to (Tirmidhi: 2083, Abu Dawood: 3106) Du’a by the terminally ill patient َ‫ا‬ Ǥ‫ َأَﻟْ ِﺤﻘﻨِ ْﻰ ﺑِﺎﻟ ﻓِﻴْ ِﻖ ا ْﻷَﻋْ ٰﲆ‬،‫اﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟِ ْﻰ َا ْ َﺣ ْﻤﻨِ ْﻰ‬ with the exalted companion and bestow (the most high). and join me mercy on me, Forgive me O Allah! (Bukhari: 5674)  the Prophet ᤖ at the time of his death used to dip his hand in water and wipe his hands over his face reciting this Du’a: Ǥ‫ إِن ﻟِﻠْﻤَ ْ ِت ﻟَ َﺴ َﻜ َا ٍت‬،ُ‫َﻻ إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ اﷲ‬ ٗ‫ َﻻ إ ِ ﻪَ إ ِﻻ اﷲ ُ َ ْﺣ َﺪه‬،ُ َ‫(َﻻ إ ِ ﻪَ إ ِﻻ اﷲ ُ َا ُ أ َﻛْﺒ‬Bukhari: 4449) stupors (agonies of death). death has indeed but Allah, There is no God He is alone, but Allah, there is no God and Allah is great, but Allah, There is no God ،ٗ‫ َ ْﺣ َﺪهٗ َﻻ َﺷ ِﻳْ َﻚ ﻟَﻪ‬،ُ‫َﻻ إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ اﷲ‬ to Him, there is no partner He is alone, but Allah, there is no God ،‫ ﻟَﻪُ اﻟْﻤُﻠْ ُﻚ َﻟَﻪُ اﻟْ َﺤ ْﻤ ُﺪ‬،ُ‫َﻻ إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ اﷲ‬ to Him belongs are all praises ِ‫ َﻻ َﺣ ْلَ َ َﻻ ﻗُ ةَ إِﻻ ِﺎﷲ‬،ُ‫َﻻ إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ اﷲ‬and thanks are, and to Him the kingdom but Allah, there is no God Ǥ (Tirmidhi: 3430) but with Allah. and nor any there is but Allah, there is no power not strength God 115

Last words of a dying person  the Prophet ᤖ said, \"If anyone’s last words are ُ‫( َﻻ إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ اﷲ‬there is no God but Allah ), he will enter Jannah (paradise). (Abu Dawood: 3116) It is also proved to recite these Du’a: ‫ ُﺳﺒ َﺤﺎنَ ا ِ َ ِّب‬،ُ‫َﻻ إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ اﷲُ اﻟْ َﺤﻠِﻴْﻢُ اﻟْ َﻜ ِﻳْﻢ‬ the Rabb the most who is the most of Glory is to Allah, generous. forbearing but Allah there is no God Ǥ‫ اَﻟْ َﺤ ْﻤ ُﺪ ِﷲِ َ ِّب اﻟْﻌٰﻠَ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ‬،‫اﻟْﻌَ ْ ِش اﻟْﻌَ ِﻈﻴْ ِﻢ‬ (Ibn Majah: 1446) of all worlds. the Rabb All praises &thanks are due the magnficent throne. to Allah, Funeral and Burial Du’a at the time of closing the eyes of a dead َ‫ا‬ ،‫اﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟِﻔُ َﻼ ٍن َا ْﻓَ ْﻊ َد َ َﺟﺘَﻪٗ ﻓِﻰ اﻟْﻤَﻬْ ِﺪﻳِّﻴ َﻦ‬ among guided people, his ranks and raise so-and-so Forgive O Allah! (say name of dead) ،‫ﻓِﻰ اﻟْﻐَﺎﺑِ ِﻳْ َﻦ‬ ُ‫َا ْﺧﻠُﻔْﻪ‬ ٖ‫ﻓِ ْﻰ ﻋَﻘِﺒِﻪ‬ among those who remained behind, (in) behind him and grant him a successor ،‫ﻳَﺎ َب اﻟْﻌٰﻠَ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ‬ ٗ‫َﻟَﻪ‬ ‫َاﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟَﻨَﺎ‬ O Rabb of the worlds, and him, and forgive us Ǥِ‫َاﻓْ َﺴ ْﺢ ﻟَﻪٗ ﻓِ ْﻰ ﻗَﺒ ِﺮهٖ َﻧَ ِّﻮرْ ﻟَﻪٗ ﻓِﻴْﻪ‬ (Muslim: 920) in his grave. for him and grant light in his grave for him and make space Du’a on the death of any person in our house َ‫ا‬ Ǥً‫ َأَﻋْﻘِﺒﻨِ ْﻰ ﻣِﻨْﻪُ ﻋُﻘﺒٰ َﺣ َﺴﻨَﺔ‬،ٗ‫اﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟِ ْﻰ َﻟَﻪ‬ a better outcome. in his & bring afterwards & him, Forgive me O Allah! (place) for me (Muslim: 919, Ibn Majah: 1447) Du’a to console the family of deceased. (as advised by the Prophet܎‫܎ܗﷺ‬ ‫ِﷲِ َﻣﺎ أَ َﺧ َﺬ‬ ‫إِن‬ ‫ َو ُ َﺷ ْﻰ ٍء‬، ‫َﻟَﻪٗ َﻣﺎ أَﻋْ ٰﻄ‬ Indeed and everything He has given, what and for Him He has taken what for Allah 116

.‫ ﻓَﻠْﺘَ ْﺼﺒِ ْﺮ َﻟْﺘَ ْﺤﺘَ ِﺴﺐ‬،‫ِﻋﻨ َﺪهٗ ﺑِﺄَ َﺟ ٍﻞ ﻣُ َﺴﻤﻰ‬ and let her look for (Allah’s) reward. (Bukhari: 7448, near Him Muslim: 923) ‫ َﻏَﻔَ َ ﻟِ َﻤﻴِّﺘِ َﻚ‬،‫ َأَ ْﺣ َﺴ َﻦ ﻋَ َاءَ َك‬،‫أَﻋْ َﻈﻢَ اﷲُ أَﺟ َ َك‬Ǥ hence let her be patient (is) with a fixed time; your dead (person). and solace for you, and make your May Allah increase forgive better reward, (Al-Adhkar Lin-Nawawy, Page: 190) Du’as for funeral prayer of dead َ‫ا‬ ،ُ‫ َﻋَﺎﻓِﻪٖ َاﻋْ ُﻒ ﻋَﻨْﻪ‬،ُ‫اﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟَﻪٗ َا ْ َﺣ ْﻤﻪ‬ him, and pardon and ،ٗ‫ﻣُﺪ َﺧﻠَﻪ‬protect him and have Forgive him O Allah! mercy on him, ‫ﺑِﺎﻟْﻤَﺎ ِء‬ ُ‫َاﻏْ ِﺴﻠْﻪ‬ ‫ َو‬،ٗ‫ﻧُ ُﻟَﻪ‬ ْ‫َأَﻛْ ِﺮم‬ ‫َ ِّﺳ ْﻊ‬ with water and wash him his entrance (grave), and make wide his abode, and honor ‫َﻧَﻘِّﻪٖ ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟْ َﺨ َﻄﺎﻳَﺎ‬ ،ِ‫َاﻟﺜﻠْ ِﺞ َاﻟْﺒَ َد‬ from sins ‫ﺾ‬anَ d pَ‫ﻴ‬u‫ﺑ‬riَ f‫ﻷ‬yْ h‫ا‬im‫ْ َب‬ ‫اﻟﺜ‬ and snow, and ice ،‫ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟﺪﻧَ ِﺲ‬ ‫ﻧَﻘﻴْ َﺖ‬ ‫ﻛَﻤَﺎ‬ from the dirt,‫َأَﻫْ ًﻼ‬ the white garment You cleanse ُ‫ﺑ ِﺪﻟْﻪ‬aَs‫َأ‬ ‫ًا‬ ْ ‫َﺧﻴ‬ ،ٖ‫َدا ًا َﺧﻴْ ًا ﻣِﻦ َدا ِه‬ and give him in exchange ،َ‫ َأ َد ِﺧﻠْﻪُ اﻟْ َﺠﻨﺔ‬،ٖ‫ َوزَ ْ ًﺟﺎ َﺧﻴْ ًا ﻣِﻦ زَ ْ ِﺟﻪ‬،ٖ‫ِﻣ ْﻦ أ َﻫْﻠِﻪ‬which is better and the family than his house, which is better a home ِ‫َأَ ِﻋ ْﺬهُ ِﻣ ْﻦ ﻋَ َﺬا ِب اﻟْﻘَﺒ ِﺮ َﻣِ ْﻦ ﻋَ َﺬا ِب اﻟﻨﺎر‬in Paradise, and enter him than his spouse, that is better and a spouse than his family, Ǥ (Muslim: 963) of the fire. and from the torment of grave from the torment and protect him ‫ َ َﺷﺎﻫِ ِﺪﻧَﺎ‬،‫اﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟِ َﺤﻴِّﻨَﺎ َ َﻣﻴِّﺘِﻨَﺎ‬ َ‫ا‬ a،n‫ﺎ‬dَ‫ﻧ‬ou‫َﺎ‬r‫ﺜ‬p‫ﻧ‬rُe‫أ‬sَ ent and our dead, our living Forgive O Allah! ‫ َذَ َ ِﻧَﺎ‬،‫َ َﺻﻐِﻴْ ِﻧَﺎ َو َﺒِﻴْ ِﻧَﺎ‬ ،‫َﻏَﺎ ِﺒِﻨَﺎ‬ & our women, and our mٖ‫ﻪ‬enِ‫ﻓَﺄ َ ْﺣﻴ‬and our old, ٗ‫ا َ َﻣ ْﻦ أ َ ْﺣﻴَﻴْﺘَﻪ‬and our young and our absent, ،ِ‫ا ْ ِﻹ ْﺳ َﻼم‬ ‫ﻋَﻠَﻰ‬ ‫ﻣِﻨﺎ‬ on Islam, so let him live from us Whom You give life O Allah! 117

،‫َﻣَﻦ َ َﻓﻴْﺘَﻪٗ ﻣِﻨﺎ ﻓَﺘَ َﻓﻪٗ ﻋَﻠَﻰ ا ْ ِﻹﻳْﻤَﺎ ِن‬ on belief, so let him die ‫أ َﺟ‬ from us and whom You cause to die ‫َﻻ َ ْﺤ ِ ْﻣﻨَﺎ‬ َ‫ا‬ Ǥٗ‫ُ ِﻀﻠﻨَﺎ ﺑَﻌْ َﺪه‬ ‫َهٗ َ َﻻ‬ after him. and do not  let us go astray his reward Do not deprive us form O Allah! (Ibn Majah: 1498) َ‫ا‬ ،‫إِن ﻓُ َﻼنَ ﺑ َﻦ ﻓُ َﻼ ٍن ﻓِ ْﻰ ِذﻣﺘِ َﻚ َ َﺣﺒ ِﻞ ِﺟ َا ِ َك‬ (and inside the surroundings in Your son of of Your Refuge) protection so and so is so & so Indeed O Allah! ،ِ‫ﻓَﻘِﻪٖ ﻣِﻦ ﻓِﺘْﻨَﺔِ اﻟْﻘَﺒ ِﺮ َﻋَ َﺬا ِب اﻟﻨﺎر‬ of the fire, and the torment ‫ َﻓَﺎ ِء‬oْ‫ﻟ‬f‫ا‬graُ‫ﻞ‬veْ‫أَﻫ‬ ‫َأ َﻧ َﺖ‬from the trials so You save him ،‫َاﻟْ َﺤ ّ ِﻖ‬ and (the one) who is true, the o‫ﺖ‬nَ e w‫ﻧ‬hَ o‫أ‬ keeps promise and You are Ǥُ‫اﻟ ِﺣﻴْﻢ‬ ُ ‫اﻟْﻐَﻔُ ْﻮ‬ ‫ إِﻧ َﻚ‬،ُ‫ْ َﺣﻤْﻪ‬ ‫َا‬ ٗ‫ﻓَﺎﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟَﻪ‬ the most the most indeed You are and have him so forgive Merciful. Forgiving mercy on him, (Ibn Majah: 1499) َ‫ا‬ ‫ اِ ْﺣﺘَﺎ َ إِ ٰﱃ‬،‫ﻋَﺒ ُﺪ َك َاﺑ ُﻦ أَ َﻣﺘِ َﻚ‬ ،‫َ ْﺣﻤَﺘِ َﻚ‬ of Your mercy, is in need & son ،ofٖ‫ﻪ‬yِ‫ﺑ‬ou‫ا‬r‫ َﺬ‬shَ‫ﻋ‬e-sl‫ْﻦ‬aveَ‫ﻋ‬ Your slave O A‫ﺖ‬lَlah!‫َأ َﻧ‬ ‫َﰷنَ ُﻣ ْﺤ ِﺴﻨًﺎ ﻓَ ِد‬ ْ‫إِن‬ ‫ﻏَﻨِﻰ‬ then increase good-doer from His punishment. self-sufficient (do and You not need anything) are Ǥُ‫ﻓَﺘَ َﺠﺎ َوزْ ﻋَﻨْﻪ‬ ‫ َوإِنْ َﰷنَ ﻣُ ِﺴﻴْ ًﺎ‬،ٖ‫ﻓِ ْﻰ َﺣ َﺴﻨَﺎﺗِﻪ‬If he was then overlook him (i.e., his sins). an evil-doer and if he was in his rewards, (Mustadrak Hakim: 1328, Ahkaam Al-Janayez Lil Albani, Page: 159) Du’a for funeral prayer of a child ُ‫أَ ِﻋ ْﺬه‬ َ‫ا‬ Ǥ‫ِﻣ ْﻦ ﻋَ َﺬا ِب اﻟْﻘَﺒ ِﺮ‬ protect him O Allah! of grave. from torment (Muwatta Imam Malik: 228/1, Shuaib Al-Arnaot agreed to its certification. See Tahqeeq Sharah Sunnah Lil baghawi: 357/7)  Following Du’a is also recommended. ِ‫ذُ ْﺧ ًا ﻟِّ َاﻟِ َﺪﻳْﻪ‬ ‫ﻓَ َ ًﻃﺎ‬ ُ‫اﺟﻌَﻠْﻪ‬ َ‫ا‬ for his parents and a stored treasure a preceding reward Make him O Allah! 118

،‫ﺑِﻪٖ ﻣَ َا ِﻳْﻨَﻬُﻤَﺎ‬ ْ‫ اَ ﺛَﻘِّﻞ‬،‫َ َﺷﻔِﻴْﻌًﺎ ﻣ َﺠﺎﺑًﺎ‬ the scales O Allah! whose intercession is and an of both of them, acceptable. intercessor with him ُ‫ َأَﻟْ ِﺤﻘﻪ‬،‫َأَﻋْ ِﻈﻢْ ﺑِﻪٖ أُ ُﺟ ْﻮ َﻫُﻤَﺎ‬Make heavy ،‫ﺑِ َﺼﺎﻟِ ِﺢ اﻟْﻤُ ْﻣِﻨِﻴْ َﻦ‬ in the reward with and for both of them, him increase with the righteous believers, and join him ‫َﻗِﻪٖ ﺑِ َ ْﺣ َﻤﺘِ َﻚ‬ ،َ‫َاﺟﻌَﻠْﻪُ ﻓِ ْﻰ َﻔَﺎﻟَﺔِ إِﺑ َاﻫِﻴْﻢ‬ with Your mercy ْ‫َأ َﺑ ِﺪﻟْﻪُ دَا ًا َﺧﻴ‬and save him of Ibrahim (AS), in guardianship and give him ،‫ﻋَ َﺬا َب اﻟْ َﺠ ِﺤﻴْ ِﻢ‬ ،ٖ‫ًا ﻣِﻦ دَا ِه‬ and reward him (from) the in exchange than his of Hell, ‫ ًﻼ‬toْ‫ﻫ‬rmَ ‫أ‬eَ nt ‫ اَ اﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ِﻷَ ْﺳ َﻼﻓِﻨَﺎ‬،ٖ‫ﻣِ ْﻦ أَﻫْﻠِﻪ‬house, ‫َﺧﻴْ ًا‬ (which is) better a house Forgive O Allah! and a family ‫َأَﻓْ َا ِﻃﻨَﺎ َﻣَ ْﻦ َﺳﺒَﻘَﻨَﺎ ﺑِﺎ ْ ِﻹﻳْ َﻤﺎ ِن‬Ǥ our ancestors than his family. which is better Ǥ‫(أ َﺟ ًا‬AlMughni Li Ibn Qudama: 369/2) with belief. went before us and those who and our first ones ‫َﺳﻠَﻔًﺎ‬ ‫اَ اﺟﻌَﻠْﻪُ ﻟَﻨَﺎ ﻓَ َ ًﻃﺎ‬ and a source of reward. and predecessor a leader for us make him O Allah! (Al-Musannaf Abdul Razzak: 529/3, Imam Bukhari has mentioned it as “Muallaq”, see Sahih Bukhari before Hadith: 1335) Du’a at the time of putting down the dead in grave Ǥِ‫َ ُﺳ ْ ِل اﷲ‬ ِ‫َﻋَ ٰﲆ ُﺳﻨﺔ‬ ِ‫ﺑِ ْﺴ ِﻢ اﷲ‬ the Messenger of Allah ᤖ . and on the way (Sunnah) of In the name of Allah (Abu Dawood: 3213 & the words of Musnad Ahmad: 27/2 are ِ‫ ﺑِ ْﺴ ِﻢ اﷲِ َﻋَ ٰﲆ ِﻣﻠﺔِ َ ُﺳ ِل اﷲ‬that means in the name of Allah & in the community of the Prophet ᤖ . Its authentication is also correct) Some people recite Kalimah Shahadah loudly when raising the coffin box or putting it down or while walking with Janazah. However, it is not recommended in the Sunnah. Men should keep calm or do recitation or ask forgiveness or pray for the Prophet ᤖ slowly. Speak only when it is necessary. Allah () knows best. Du’a after burial of the dead ،ٗ‫اﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟَﻪ‬ َ‫ا‬ Ǥُ‫اَ ﺛَﺒِّﺘْﻪ‬ Make him firm / steadfast. O Allah! Forgive him, O Allah! 119

Narrated Uthman ibn Affan: Whenever the Prophet ᤖ became free from burying the dead, he used to stay at him (i.e. his grave) and say: Seek forgiveness for your brother, and beg steadfastness for him, for he will be questioned now. (Abu Dawood: 3221), Du’a while visiting the Grave Yard ْ‫اﻟﺴ َﻼمُ ﻋَﻠَﻴْ ُﻜﻢ‬ ‫أَﻫْﻞَ اﻟ ِّﺪﻳَﺎرِ ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟْﻤُ ْﻣِﻨِﻴْ َﻦ‬ ،َ‫إِنْ َﺷﺎءَ ا ُ ﺑِ ُﻜﻢْ َﻻ ِﻘُ ْن‬of the believers Peace be the inmates of the abodes upon you ‫ َوإِﻧﺎ‬،‫َاﻟْ ُﻤ ْﺴﻠِ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ‬ w،ill(b‫َﻦ‬e mْ‫ﻳ‬eِ e‫ﺧ‬tِ inْ g‫ﺄ‬,َ‫ ْﺴﺘ‬w‫ُﻤ‬ithْ‫ﻟ‬y‫ا‬oَ u Allah wills if and indeed we and Muslims, ‫) َﻳَ ْ َﺣﻢُ اﷲُ اﻟْﻤُ ْﺴﺘَﻘ ِﺪﻣِﻴْ َﻦ ﻣِﻨﺎ‬ and the later ones, of us ‫أ َ ْﺳﺄ َلُ اﷲ َ ﻟَﻨَﺎ‬on the forerunners and may Allah have mercy Ǥَ‫َﻟَ ُﻜﻢُ اﻟْﻌَﺎﻓِﻴَﺔ‬ of well being. and for you for us Allah I ask (Muslim: 974-975, Ibn Majah: 1547, This narration of Ibn Maja is copied from the Riwayah of Buraidah ‫ ﷜‬and the words in bracket are copied by Imam Muslim from Ayesha ‫﷞‬. 120

Qura’nic invocations starting with Rabbana ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ‬ B ﴾ ﴿127 ُ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ ﺗَﻘَﺒﻞْ ِﻣﻨﺎ اِﻧ َﻚ اَﻧ َﺖ اﻟﺴ ِﻤﻴْ ُﻊ اﻟْﻌَﻠِﻴْﻢ‬ the All-Knowing. the All-Hearing, Indeed, You are from us. Accept Our Rabb! Surah Al-Baqarah:127 ‫ﻣُ ْﺴﻠِ َﻤﻴْ ِﻦ ﻟَ َﻚ َ ِﻣﻦ ذُرِّﻳﺘِﻨَﺂ‬ ‫َاﺟﻌَﻠْﻨَﺎ‬ C and from our offspring to You both submissive ‫َاَ ِﻧَﺎ ﻣَﻨَﺎ ِﺳ َﻜﻨَﺎ‬ ‫ﻟ َﻚ‬ And make us ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ‬ our ways of worship and show us to You, ً‫ﻣ ْﺴﻠِ َﻤﺔ‬ O our Lord! ﴾ ﴿128 ُ‫اِﻧ َﻚ اَﻧ َﺖ اﻟﺘ ا ُب اﻟ ِﺣﻴْﻢ‬ submissive ً ‫ا ُﻣﺔ‬ ‫ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻨَﺎ‬ a community ‫َﺗُﺐ‬ the Most Merciful. the Oft-returning Indeed, You are to us. and turn Surah Al-Baqarah: 128 D ً‫ﻓِﻰ اﻟﺪﻧْﻴَﺎ َﺣ َﺴﻨَﺔ‬ ‫ﺗِﻨَﺎ‬ ‫َﺑﻨَﺂ‬ good in the world Grant us O our Lord! ‫ﻓِﻰ ا ْ ِﺧ َةِ َﺣ َﺴﻨَﺔً ﻗِﻨَﺎ ﻋَ َﺬا َب‬ ﴾ ﴿201 ِ‫اﻟﻨﺎر‬ (of) the Fire. (from the) punishment and save us good, and in the Hereafter Surah Al-Baqarah: 201 E ‫َﺑﻨَﺂ اَﻓْ ِغْ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻨَﺎ َﺻﺒ ًا ﺛَﺒِّ ْﺖ اَﻗ َﺪاﻣَﻨَﺎ‬ Pour  O ourLord! our feet, and make firm patience on us ﴾2ؕ50﴿ ‫ﻋَﻠَﻰ اﻟْﻘَ ْﻮمِ اﻟْ ٰﻜﻔِ ِﻳْ َﻦ‬ ‫َاﻧ ُﺼ ْﻧَﺎ‬ against the disbelieving people and help us Surah Al-Baqarah: 250 F ﴾ ﴿285 ُ ْ‫َﺳ ِﻤﻌْﻨَﺎ َاَ َﻃﻌْﻨَﺎ ﻏُﻔْ َاﻧَ َﻚ َﺑﻨَﺎ َاِﻟَﻴْ َﻚ اﻟْ َﻤ ِﺼﻴ‬ (is) the return. and to You our Lord, (Grant us) Your and we We heard forgiveness obeyed. Surah Al-Baqarah: 285 G 121

‫َﺑﻨَﺎ َﻻ ُ َا ِﺧ ْﺬ َﺂ اِنْ ﻧ ِﺴﻴْﻨَﺂ اَ ْو اَ ْﺧ َﻄﺎْﻧَﺎ‬ we err. or we forget if (Do) not take us to task Our Lord! ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ َ َﻻ َ ْﺤ ِﻤﻞْ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻨَﺂ اِ ْﺻ ًا ﻛَﻤَﺎ َﺣﻤَﻠْﺘَﻪٗ ﻋَﻠَﻰ اﻟ ِﺬﻳْ َﻦ ﻣِﻦ ﻗَﺒﻠِﻨَﺎ‬ (were) before on those who (which) You like a burden upon us And (do) not Our Lord! us. laid (it) that lay ٖ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ َ َﻻ ﺗُ َﺤ ِﻤﻠْﻨَﺎ ﻣَﺎ َﻻ َﻃﺎﻗَﺔَ ﻟَﻨَﺎ ﺑِﻪ‬ [of it] (to we have not (the) strength what lay on us And (do) Our Lord! bear). not ‫َاﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟَﻨَﺎ َا ْ َﺣﻤْﻨَﺎ‬ ‫َاﻋْ ُﻒ ﻋَﻨﺎ‬ and have mercy (on) us. and forgive [for] us, ‫أ َﻧ َﺖ ﻣَ ْﻮ ﯩﻨَﺎ‬And pardon (from) us, ﴾ ﴿286 ‫ﻓَﺎﻧ ُﺼ ْﻧَﺎ ﻋَﻠَﻰ اﻟْﻘَ ْﻮمِ اﻟْ ٰﻜﻔِ ِﻳْ َﻦ‬ the disbelievers. against the people - so help us our Protector, You (are) Surah Al-Baqarah: 286 H ‫ﻓَﺎﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟَﻨَﺎ‬ ‫َﻣﻨﺎ‬ ‫اِﻧﻨَﺂ‬ ‫َﺑﻨَﺂ‬ so forgive for us (have) believed, Indeed, we Our Lord! ۚ16 ِ‫اﻟﻨﺎر‬ ‫ﻋَ َﺬا َب‬ ‫َﻗِﻨَﺎ‬ ‫ذُﻧُ ْﺑَﻨَﺎ‬ (of) the Fire. (from the) punishment and save us our sins Surah Aal-e-Imran: 16 ْ‫َﻻ ُ ِغْ ﻗُﻠُ ْﺑَﻨَﺎ ﺑَﻌْ َﺪ اِذ‬ I ‫ﻫَ َﺪﻳْﺘَﻨَﺎ‬ ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ‬ You (have) guided us after (when) our hearts (Do) not deviate Our Lord! 8 ‫َﻫَﺐ ﻟَﻨَﺎ ﻣِ ْﻦ ﻟ ُﺪﻧ َﻚ َ ْﺣ َﻤﺔً اِﻧ َﻚ اَﻧ َﺖ اﻟْ َﻫﺎ ُب‬ (are) the Bestower. Indeed You Mercy. from Yourself (for) us and grant Surah Aal-e-Imran: 8 ‫ﺑِ َﻤﺂ‬ ‫ﻣَﻨﺎ‬ J ‫اَﻧ َﻟْ َﺖ‬ ‫َﺑﻨَﺂ‬ You revealed, in what we believed O our Lord! 53 ‫َاﺗﺒَﻌْﻨَﺎ اﻟ ُﺳ ْلَ ﻓَﺎ ْﺘُﺒﻨَﺎ ﻣَ َﻊ اﻟﺸ ِﻬ ِﺪﻳْ َﻦ‬ among the witnesses. so write us the Messenger, and we followed (Surah Aal-e-Imran : 53) 122

K ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ اﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟَﻨَﺎ ذُﻧُ ْﺑَﻨَﺎ َاِ ْﺳ َاﻓَﻨَﺎ ﻓِﻰ اَﻣْ ِﻧَﺎ‬ in our affairs and our excesses our sins Forgive for us Our Lord! ﴾147﴿ ‫اَﻗ َﺪاﻣَﻨَﺎ َاﻧ ُﺼ ْﻧَﺎ ﻋَﻠَﻰ اﻟْﻘَ ْﻮمِ اﻟْ ٰﻜﻔِ ِﻳْ َﻦ‬ ‫َﺛَﺒِّ ْﺖ‬ over [the people], the disbelievers. and give us victory our feet and make firm Surah Aal-e-Imran: 147 L ‫ﻣَﺎ َﺧﻠَﻘ َﺖ ﻫٰ َﺬا ﺑَﺎ ِﻃ ًﻼ ُﺳﺒ ٰﺤﻨَ َﻚ ﻓَﻘِﻨَﺎ‬ ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ‬ so save us Glory be to You, in vain. this You have not created O our Lord! َ ‫﴾ َﺑﻨَﺂ اِﻧ َﻚ َﻣ ْﻦ ﺗُﺪ ِﺧ ِﻞ اﻟﻨﺎ‬191﴿ ِ‫اﻟﻨﺎر‬ (to) the Indeed, ‫ﻋَ َﺬا َب‬ fire You admit whom [You] O our Lord! (of) the fire. (from the) ﴾192﴿ ٍ‫َﻣَﺎ ﻟِﻠﻈﻠِ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ ِﻣ ْﻦ اَﻧ َﺼﺎر‬ ٗ‫اَ ْﺧ َﻳْﺘَﻪ‬ punishment ‫ﻓَﻘَﺪ‬ (are) any helpers. and not for the wrongdoers You (have) disgraced him, then surely Surah Aal-e-Imran: 191-192 M ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ ﻓَﺎﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟَﻨَﺎ ذُﻧُ ْﺑَﻨَﺎ َو َﻔِّ ْﺮ ﻋَﻨﺎ‬ and remove  from us our sins so forgive for us Our Lord! ﴾1ۚ93﴿ ِ ‫ﻣَ َﻊ ا ْﻻ َﺑ َا‬ ‫َﺗَ َﻓﻨَﺎ‬ ‫َﺳﻴِّ ﺗِﻨَﺎ‬ with the righteous. and cause us to die our evil deeds Surah Aal-e-Imran: 193 ‫َ ﺗِﻨَﺎ َﻣﺎ َﻋَﺪﺗﻨَﺎ‬ N ‫ﻋَ ٰﲆ ُ ُﺳﻠِ َﻚ‬ ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ‬ through Your messengers what You promised us Grant us O our Lord! ﴾194﴿ َ‫َ َﻻ ُ ْﺨ ِﻧَﺎ ﻳَ ْﻮمَ اﻟْﻘِﻴٰ َﻤﺔِ اِﻧ َﻚ َﻻ ُ ْﺨﻠِ ُﻒ اﻟْ ِﻤﻴْﻌَﺎد‬ (on) the Day of and the promise. (do) not break Indeed, You Resurrection. (do) not disgrace us Surah Aal-e-Imran:194 O ‫َﺑﻨَﺂ اَ ْﺧ ِﺟﻨَﺎ ِﻣ ْﻦ ﻫٰ ِﺬهِ اﻟْﻘَ ْﻳَﺔِ اﻟﻈﺎﻟِ ِﻢ اَﻫْﻠُﻬَﺎ‬ (the) opressors (are) it's people (s) from this [the]town take us out Our Lord! 123

‫َاﺟﻌَﻞْ ﻟﻨَﺎ ِﻣ ْﻦ ﻟ ُﺪﻧ َﻚ َﻟِﻴﺎ‬ a protector from Yourself for us and appoint ؕ75 ‫اﺟﻌَﻞْ ﻟﻨَﺎ ﻣِ ْﻦ ﻟ ُﺪﻧ َﻚ ﻧَ ِﺼﻴْ ًا‬ a helper. from Yourself for us and appoint Surah An-Nisa: 75 ‫ﻣَﻨﺎ‬ P 53 ‫ﻓَﺎ ْﺘُﺒﻨَﺎ َﻣ َﻊ اﻟﺸ ِﻬ ِﺪﻳْ َﻦ‬ ‫َﺑﻨَﺂ‬ with the witnesses. so write us we have believed, O our Lord! Surah Al-Maidah: 83 ‫َﻇﻠَﻤْﻨَﺂ اَﻧﻔُ َﺴﻨَﺎ‬ Q ‫َاِنْ ﻟﻢْ ﺗَﻐْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟَﻨَﺎ‬ ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ‬ You forgive (for) us and if not We have wronged Our Lord! ‫َﺗَ ْ َﺣ ْﻤﻨَﺎ ﻟَﻨَ ُﻜ ْﻧَﻦ‬ourselves, 23 ‫ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟْ ٰﺨ ِﺴ ِﻳْ َﻦ‬ among the losers. surely we will be and have mercy on us Surah A’raaf: 23 ِ‫َﺠﻌَﻠْﻨَﺎ ﻣَ َﻊ اﻟْﻘَ ْﻮم‬ R ۧ47 ‫اﻟﻈﻠِ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ‬ ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ َﻻ‬ the wrongdoers. with the people - (Do) not place us Our Lord! Surah Al-A’raaf: 47 ‫ﺑَﻴْﻨَﻨَﺎ‬ ‫اﻓْﺘَ ْﺢ‬ S ‫َﺑَﻴْ َﻦ ﻗَ ْﻣِﻨَﺎ‬ ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ‬ and between our people between us Decide O our Lord! 89 ‫اﻟْﻔٰﺘِ ِﺤﻴْ َﻦ‬ ُ ْ‫َﺧﻴ‬ ‫َاَﻧ َﺖ‬ ‫ﺑِﺎﻟْ َﺤ ّ ِﻖ‬ of those who dedcide. are the best and You in truth Surah Al-A’raaf: 89 T ﴾1ۧ26﴿ ‫َﺑﻨَﺂ اَﻓْ ِغْ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻨَﺎ َﺻﺒ ًا ﺗَ َﻓﻨَﺎ ﻣُ ْﺴﻠِ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ‬ and cause us to die patience upon us Pour  as Muslims. O our Lord! Surah Al-A’raaf: 126 ُ‫ُﺳﺒ ٰﺤﻨَ َﻚ ﺗُﺒ ُﺖ اِﻟَﻴْ َﻚ َاَﻧَﺎ اَ ل‬ ﴾143﴿ ‫اﻟْ ُﻤ ْﻣِﻨِﻴْ َﻦ‬ (of) the believers. (the) first and I to You I turn (in Glory be to You am repentance) Surah Al-A’raaf: 143 124

U ۙ85 ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ َﻻ َﺠﻌَﻠْﻨَﺎ ﻓِﺘْﻨَﺔً ﻟِّﻠْﻘَ ْﻮمِ اﻟﻈﻠِ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ‬ the wrongdoers. for the people - a trial (Do) not make us Our Lord! 86 ‫اﻟْ ٰﻜﻔِ ِﻳْ َﻦ‬ ِ‫ﺑِ َ ْﺣ َﻤﺘِ َﻚ ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟْﻘَ ْﻮم‬ ‫َﻧَ ِّﺠﻨَﺎ‬ the disbelievers. from the people - by Your Mercy And save us Surah Yunus: 85-86 V ‫ِﻳْﻨَﺔً اَ ْﻣ َا ًﻻ‬ ٗ‫َﺑﻨَﺂ اِﻧ َﻚ ﺗَﻴْ َﺖ ﻓِ ْﻋَ ْنَ َ َﻣ َﻼ َه‬ and more wealth splendor and his chiefs Firaun have given Indeed, You Our Lord! ‫ﻓِﻰ اﻟْ َﺤﻴٰ ةِ اﻟﺪﻧْﻴَﺎ َﺑﻨَﺎ ﻟِﻴُ ِﻀﻠ ْا ﻋَﻦ َﺳﺒِﻴْﻠِ َﻚ‬ from Your way. that they may lead astray our Lord, in the life of the world, ْ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ اﻃ ِﻤ ْﺲ ﻋَﲆ اَ ْﻣ َاﻟِ ِﻬﻢْ َا ْﺷ ُﺪد ﻋَ ٰﲆ ﻗُﻠُ ْﻮﺑِ ِﻬﻢ‬ [on]their hearts and harden [on] their wealth Destroy Our Lord! 88 َ‫ﻓَ َﻼ ُ ْ ِﻣﻨُ ْا َﺣﺘ ﻳَ َ ُا اﻟْﻌَ َﺬا َب ا ْﻻَﻟِﻴْﻢ‬ the painful punishment. they see until so (that) not they believe Surah Yunus: 88 ‫َﻟِ َاﻟِ َﺪى َﻟِﻠْﻤُ ْ ِﻣﻨِﻴْ َﻦ‬ ‫اﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟِ ْﻰ‬ W ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ‬ and the believers and my parents Forgive me Our Lord! ۧ41 ‫اﻟْ ِﺤ َﺴﺎ ُب‬ ُ‫ﻳَﻘُ ْﻮم‬ َ‫ﻳَ ْﻮم‬ the account will be established (on the) Day Surah Ibraheem: 41 X 10 ‫َﺑﻨَﺂ ﺗِﻨَﺎ ِﻣ ْﻦ ﻟ ُﺪﻧ َﻚ َ ْﺣ َﻤﺔً ﻫَﻴِّﺊْ ﻟَﻨَﺎ ِﻣ ْﻦ اَ ْﻣ ِﻧَﺎ َ َﺷ ًﺪا‬ from our affairs for us and facilitate mercy fom Yourself Grant us O our Lord! Surah Al-Kahaf: 10 ‫َﻣﻨﺎ‬ Y ‫ﻓَﺎﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟَﻨَﺎ‬ ‫َﺑﻨَﺂ‬ so forgive us We believe Our Lord! ‫﴿ ۚ ۖ۝‬109 ‫َﺧﻴْ ُ اﻟ ِﺣ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ‬ ‫َاَﻧ َﺖ‬ ‫َا ْ َﺣﻤْﻨَﺎ‬ the best of those who show mercy. and You (are) and have mercy on us Surah Mu’minoon: 109 125

Z ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ ﻫَﺐ ﻟَﻨَﺎ ِﻣ ْﻦ اَزْ َا ِﺟﻨَﺎ َذُرِّﻳﺘِﻨَﺎ‬ and our offspring from our spouses Grant to us Our Lord! 74 ‫ﻗُ ةَ اَﻋْﻴُ ٍﻦ اﺟﻌَﻠْﻨَﺎ ﻟِﻠْﻤُﺘﻘِﻴْ َﻦ اِ َﻣﺎ ًﻣﺎ‬ a leader. for the righteous and make us (to) our eyes comfort Surah Al-Furqan: 74 8 ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ َ ِﺳﻌْ َﺖ ُﰻ َﺷ ْﻰ ٍء ْﺣ َﻤﺔً ِﻋﻠْ ًﻤﺎ ﻓَﺎﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟِﻠ ِﺬﻳْ َﻦ‬ and by Your You for those who So forgive knolwedge. mercy all things encompass O our Lord! ‫َﻗِ ِﻬﻢْ ﻋَ َﺬا َب اﻟْ َﺠ ِﺤﻴْ ِﻢ‬7 ‫ﺗَﺎﺑُ ْا َاﺗﺒَﻌُ ْا َﺳﺒِﻴْﻠَ َﻚ‬ of the Hell-fire. the punishment and save them from Your way, and follow repent ْ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ َاَد ِﺧﻠْﻬُﻢْ َﺟﻨ ِﺖ ﻋَﺪ ِن ﻟﺘِ ْﻰ َﻋَﺪﺗ ُﻬﻢ‬ You have promised them, which of Eden to Gardens And admit them O our Lord! ْ‫َﺻﻠَ َﺢ ﻣِ ْﻦ ﺑَ ِ ِﻬﻢْ َاَزْ َا ِﺟ ِﻬﻢْ َذُرِّﻳﺘِ ِﻬﻢ‬ ‫َ َﻣ ْﻦ‬ and their offspring. and their spouses, among their fathers, was righteous and whoever ۙ8 ُ‫اِﻧ َﻚ اَﻧ َﺖ اﻟْﻌَ ِﻳْ ُﺰ اﻟْ َﺤ ِﻜﻴْﻢ‬ the All-Wise. the All-Mighty Indeed, You are ‫َﻗِ ِﻬﻢُ اﻟﺴﻴِّ ِت َ َﻣ ْﻦ ﺗَ ِﻖ اﻟﺴﻴِّ ِت ﻳَ ْ َﻣ ٍﺬ‬ And And protect that Day, from the evil You protect whomever from the evils. them ۧ9 ُ‫َذٰﻟِ َﻚ ﻫُ َﻮ اﻟْﻔَ ْﻮ ُاﻟْﻌَ ِﻈﻴْﻢ‬ ٗ‫َ ِﺣﻤْﺘَﻪ‬ ‫ﻓَﻘَﺪ‬ the great success. And that it is You bestowed mercy on him. then verily Surah Al-Mu’min: 7-9 9 12 َ‫اِﻧﺎ ﻣُ ْﻣِﻨُ ْن‬ ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ ا ْ ِﺸ ْﻒ ﻋَﻨﺎ اﻟْﻌَ َﺬا َب‬ Indeed, we are believers. the punishment; from us Remove O our Lord! Surah Ad-Dukhan: 12 : ‫اﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟَﻨَﺎ َو ْﺧ َاﻧِﻨَﺎ اﻟ ِﺬﻳْ َﻦ َﺳﺒَﻘُ ْﻧَﺎ‬ ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ‬ preceded us those who and our brothers Forgive us O our Lord! 126

‫ﺑِﺎ ْ ِﻻﻳْ َﻤﺎ ِن َ َﻻ َﺠﻌَﻞْ ﻓِ ْﻰ ﻗُﻠُ ْﻮﺑِﻨَﺎ ِﻏﻼ ﻟِّﻠ ِﺬﻳْ َﻦ‬ towards those who any rancor in our hearts and do not put in fatih; ‫َﺑﻨَﺂ اِﻧ َﻚ َءُ ْ ٌف‬ ۧ10 ٌ‫ِﺣﻴْﻢ‬ ‫َﻣﻨُ ْا‬ Most Merciful. full of kindness Indeed, You are O our Lord! believed. Surah Al-Hashr: 10 ; 4 ُ ْ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ ﻋَﻠَﻴْ َﻚ ﺗَ َﻮ ْﻨَﺎ َاِﻟَﻴْ َﻚ اَﻧَﺒﻨَﺎ َاِﻟَﻴْ َﻚ اﻟْ َﻤ ِﺼﻴ‬ (is) the final and to You we trun, and to you we put our Upon You O our Lord! return. trust Surah Al-Mumtahinah: 4 < ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ َﻻ َﺠﻌَﻠْﻨَﺎ ﻓِﺘْﻨَﺔً ﻟِّﻠ ِﺬﻳْ َﻦ ﻛَﻔَ ُ ْا‬ disbelieve, for those who a trial (Do) not make us Our Lord! 5 ُ‫َاﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟَﻨَﺎ َﺑﻨَﺎ اِﻧ َﻚ اَﻧ َﺖ اﻟْﻌَ ِﻳْ ُﺰ اﻟْ َﺤ ِﻜﻴْﻢ‬ are the the All-Wise. All-Mighty, Indeed You [You] our Lord! and forgive (for) us, Surah Al-Mumtahinah: 5 ‫اَﺗْ ِﻤﻢْ ﻟَﻨَﺎ ﻧُ ْﻮ َﻧَﺎ‬ = ‫َاﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟَﻨَﺎ‬ ‫َﺑﻨَﺂ‬ and grant forgiveness to us our light Perfect for us Our Lord! ‫ﻋَ ٰﲆ ُ ِﰻّ َﺷ ْﻰ ٍء‬ 8 ٌ ْ‫ﻗَ ِﺪﻳ‬ (are) over everything ‫اِﻧ َﻚ‬ All-Powerful. Indeed, You Surah At-Tahreem: 8 127

Qura’nic invocations starting with Rabbee ‫َﺑِّ ْﻰ‬ ً‫ذُرِّﻳﺔً َﻃﻴِّﺒَﺔ‬ ‫ِﻣ ْﻦ ﻟ ُﺪﻧ َﻚ‬ ‫ﻫَﺐ ﻟِ ْﻰ‬ B Pure. offspring from Yourself Grant me ‫َ ِّب‬ ِ38 َ‫اﻟﺪﻋ‬ ‫َﺳ ِﻤﻴْ ُﻊ‬ O my Lord! ‫اِﻧ َﻚ‬ of the prayer. All-Hearer Indeed You are Surah Al-e-Imran: 38 ‫َﻵ اَﻣْﻠِ ُﻚ‬ C ‫اِﻻ َﻔْ ِﺴ ْﻰ َاَ ِﺧ ْﻰ‬ ‫َ ِّب اِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ and my brother, except over myself (do) not have power indeed, I O my Lord! 25 ‫ﻓَﺎﻓْ ُق ﺑَﻴْﻨَﻨَﺎ َﺑَﻴْ َﻦ اﻟْﻘَ ْﻮمِ اﻟْﻔٰ ِﺴﻘِﻴْ َﻦ‬ (who are) defiantly dis-obedient. and between the people between us so (make a) separation Surah Al-Maidah: 25 D ‫َ ِّب اﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟِ ْﻰ َ ِﻻَ ِ ْﻰ َاَد ِﺧﻠْﻨَﺎ‬ and admit us and my brother Forgive me O my Lord! ﴾1ۧ51﴿ ‫َاَﻧ َﺖ اَ ْ َﺣﻢُ اﻟ ِﺣ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ‬ ‫ﻓِ ْﻰ َ ْﺣﻤَﺘِ َﻚ‬ the most Merciful of those who show mercy. and You are into Your Mercy; Surah Al-A’raaf: 151 E ‫ﻓَﺎﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟَﻨَﺎ َا ْ َﺣ ْﻤﻨَﺎ َاَﻧ َﺖ‬ ‫اَﻧ َﺖ َﻟِﻴﻨَﺎ‬ and You (are) and have mercy upon us, so forgive us our Protector You (are) ‫﴾ َا ْﺘُﺐ ﻟَﻨَﺎ ﻓِ ْﻰ ﻫٰ ِﺬهِ اﻟﺪﻧْﻴَﺎ‬155﴿ ‫اﻟْﻐٰﻔِ ِﻳْ َﻦ‬ ُ ْ‫َﺧﻴ‬ in this world And ordain for us of Forgivers. ‫اِﻧﺎ ﻫُﺪ َﺂ اِﻟَﻴْ َﻚ‬ (the) Best ِ‫ﻓِﻰ ا ْ ِﺧ َة‬ ً‫َﺣ َﺴﻨَﺔ‬ to You. have turned Indeed, we and in the Hereafrer. good Surah Al-A’raaf: 155-156 ‫َﻵ‬ ‫َ اِﻻ ﻫُ َﻮ‬ F ُ‫َﺣ ْﺴﺒِ َﻰ اﷲ‬ except Him. (there is) no real god (is) Allah Sufficient for me 128

﴾1ۧ29﴿ ‫ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻪِ ﺗَ َﻮ ْ ُﺖ َﻫُ َﻮ َب اﻟْﻌَ ْ ِش اﻟْﻌَ ِﻈﻴْ ِﻢ‬ (of) the Magnificent Throne. (is the) Lord And He I put my trust. On Him 129 :Surah At-Tawbah ‫اَﻋُ ْذُ ِ َﻚ اَنْ اَ ْﺳ َﻠَ َﻚ‬ G ‫َ ِّب اِﻧِﻰ‬ I (should) ask You that seek refuge in You indeed, I O my Lord! ٌ‫ِﻋﻠْﻢ‬ ٖ‫ﺑِﻪ‬ ‫ﻟِ ْﻰ‬ ‫ﻟَﻴْ َﺲ‬ ‫َﻣﺎ‬ Knowledge, of i‫ﻦ‬tْ ُ َ‫ا‬ I have not what 47 ‫اﻟْ ٰﺨ ِﺴ ِﻳْ َﻦ‬ ‫ﻣِ َﻦ‬ ‫َﺗَ ْ َﺣ ْﻤﻨِ ْﻰ‬ ‫َاِﻻ ﺗَﻐْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟِ ْﻰ‬ among the losers. I will be and You have mercy on me You forgive me and unless Surah Hood: 47 H ِ‫َ ِّب اﻟ ِّﺴﺠ ُﻦ اَ َﺣﺐ اِﻟَﻰ ﻣِﻤﺎ ﻳَﺪﻋُ ْﻧَﻨِ ْﻰ اِﻟَﻴْﻪ‬ to it, they invite me than that to me (is ) dearer The prison O my Lord! ‫ﻛَﻴْ َﺪﻫُﻦ‬ ‫ﺗَ ْﺼ ِ ْف‬ ‫ﻋَﻨِ ْﻰ‬ ‫َاِﻻ‬ their plot, from me ‫ُ ْﻦ‬ َ ‫َا‬ You turn away And unless 33 ‫اﻟْ ٰﺠ ِﻬﻠِﻴْ َﻦ‬ ‫ِﻣ َﻦ‬ ‫اِﻟَﻴْ ِﻬﻦ‬ ‫اَ ْﺻ ُﺐ‬ of the ignorants. and [Ibe towards them I might incline Surah Yusuf: 33 ‫َﻟِ ّٖﻰ‬ I ِ‫ﻓِﻰ اﻟﺪﻧْﻴَﺎ َا ْ ِﺧ َة‬ my protector, ‫اَﻧ َﺖ‬ and the Hereafter. in the world ﴾101﴿ ‫اَﻟْ ِﺤﻘﻨِ ْﻰ ﺑِﺎﻟﺼﻠِ ِﺤﻴْ َﻦ‬ ‫ﻣُ ْﺴﻠِﻤًﺎ‬ You (are) ‫ﺗَ َﻓﻨِ ْﻰ‬ with the righteous. and join me as a Muslim, Cause me to die Surah Yusuf: 101 ْ‫اﺟﻌَﻞ‬ J ‫ﻫٰ َﺬا اﻟْﺒَﻠَ َﺪ ِﻣﻨًﺎ‬ ‫َ ِّب‬ safe city this Make My Lord! ؕ35 َ‫اﺟﻨُﺒﻨِ ْﻰ َﺑَﻨِﻰ اَنْ ﻧﻌْﺒُ َﺪ ا ْﻻ َ ْﻨَﺎم‬ the idols. we worship that and my children and keep me away Surah Ibraheem: 35 129

‫اﺟﻌَﻠْﻨِ ْﻰ‬ K ِ‫اﻟﺼ ة‬ َ‫ُﻣﻘِﻴْﻢ‬ ‫َ ِّب‬ (of) the prayer an establisher Make me My Lord! ْ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ َﺗَﻘَﺒﻞ‬ ‫َ ِﻣﻦ ذُرِّﻳﺘِ ْﻰ‬ ِ40 َ‫دُﻋ‬ my prayer. And accept Our Lord! and from my offsprings. Surah Ibraheem: 40 ‫َﺑﻴٰﻨِ ْﻰ‬ L ؕ24 ‫َﺻﻐِﻴْ ًا‬ ‫َ ِّب ا ْ َﺣﻤْﻬُ َﻤﺎ ﻛَ َﻤﺎ‬ (when I was) small. they brought me up as Have mercy on both of them My Lord! Surah Bani Israeel : 24 M ‫اَ ْﺧ ِﺟﻨِ ْﻰ ﻣُ ْﺨ َ َج ِﺻﺪ ٍق‬ ‫َ ِّب اَد ِﺧﻠْﻨِ ْﻰ ُﻣﺪ َﺧﻞَ ِﺻﺪ ٍق‬ sound an exit and cause me to sound an entrance cause me to Omy Lord! exit enter 80 ‫اﺟﻌَﻞْ ﻟِّ ْﻰ ﻣِ ْﻦ ﻟ ُﺪﻧ َﻚ ُﺳﻠْ ٰﻄﻨًﺎ ﻧ ِﺼﻴْ ًا‬ a helping authority. from near You for me and make Surah Bani Israeel: 80 ‫ﺑِ ُﺪﻋَ ِ َﻚ‬ ‫اَ ُﻦ‬ N 4 ‫َ ِّب َﺷﻘِﻴﺎ‬ ْ‫َﻟَﻢ‬ unblessed. my Lord in (my) Du’a (to) You I have been And not Surah Maryam: 4 ‫ﻣِ ْﻦ ﻟ ُﺪﻧ َﻚ‬ ‫ﻟِ ْﻰ‬ O ۙ5 ‫َﻟِﻴﺎ‬ ‫ﻫَﺐ‬ an heir, from Yourself to me Give Surah Maryam : 5 ‫َ ِّب‬ P 6 ‫َ ِﺿﻴﺎ‬ ُ‫َاﺟﻌَﻠْﻪ‬ Pleasing. my Lord! and make him Surah Maryam: 6 Q ۙ26 ‫ۙ َﻳَ ِّﺴ ْﺮ ﻟِﻰ اَ ْﻣ ِ ْى‬25 ‫َ ِّب ا ْﺷ َ ْح ﻟِ ْﻰ َﺻﺪ ِ ْى‬ my task, for me and make easy my breast, for me Expand O my Lord! 130

ٙ28 ‫ۙ ﻳَﻔْﻘَ ُﻬ ْا ﻗَ ْﻟِ ْﻰ‬27 ‫َا ْﺣﻠُﻞْ ﻋُﻘ َﺪةً ﻣِ ْﻦ ﻟِّ َﺴﺎﻧِ ْﻰ‬ my speech. (so that) they may understand from my tongue, the knot and untie (open) Surah Taahaa: 25-28 R ﴾114﴿ ‫ِﻋﻠْﻤًﺎ‬ ‫ِدﻧِ ْﻰ‬ ‫َ ِّب‬ (in) knowledge. Increase me O my Lord! Surah Taaha: 114 ُ‫اﻟﻀ َاَﻧ َﺖ اَ ْ َﺣﻢ‬ S ‫ۚ ۖ۝‬83 ‫اﻟ ِﺣ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ‬ ‫اَﻧِ ْﻰ َﻣﺴﻨِ َﻰ‬ of those who show are Most Merciful and You the adversity (has) Indeed, [I] mercy. touched me Surah Ambiaa: 83 T ‫ۚ ۖ۝‬89 ﴿ ‫َ ِّب َﻻ َ َﺬ ْﻧِ ْﻰ ﻓَ ْدًا اَﻧ َﺖ َﺧﻴْ ُ اﻟْ ٰﻮ ِﺛِﻴْ َﻦ‬ are the best (of) the inheritors. while You alone Do not leave me My Lord! Surah Al-Ambiaa: 89 ‫اﻧ ُﺼ ْﻧِ ْﻰ‬ U 26 ‫ﻛَﺬﺑُ ْ ِن‬ ‫ﺑِﻤَﺎ‬ ‫َ ِّب‬ they deny me. because Help me My Lord! Surah Al-Mu’minoon: 26 ِ‫ﻓِﻰ اﻟْﻘَ ْﻮم‬ ‫ﻓَ َﻼ َﺠﻌَﻠْﻨِ ْﻰ‬ V 94 ‫اﻟﻈﻠِ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ‬ ‫َ ِّب‬ the wrongdoers. among the people - then (do) not place me My Lord! Surah Al-Mu’minoon: 94 ۙ97 ‫ﻣِ ْﻦ ﻫَ َﻤ ٰ ِت اﻟﺸﻴٰ ِﻄﻴْ ِﻦ‬ W ‫َ ِّب اَﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ‬ from (the) suggestions of the evil ones in You I seek refuge O my Lord! (devil whisperings). ‫َاَﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ َ ِّب‬ 98 ‫اَنْ ْﺤ ُﻀ ُ ْ ِن‬ Lest they be present with me. my Lord! in You, And I seek refuge Surah Al-Mu’minoon: 97-98 X ﴾1ۧ18﴿ ‫َ ِّب اﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ َا ْ َﺣﻢْ َاَﻧ َﺖ َﺧﻴْ ُ اﻟ ِﺣ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ‬ the Best of those who show mercy. and You (are) and have mercy Forgive My Lord! Surah Al-Mu’minoon: 118 131

Y ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ ا ْﺻ ِ ْف ﻋَﻨﺎ ﻋَ َﺬا َب َﺟ َﻬﻨﻢَ اِن ﻋَ َﺬاﺑَﻬَﺎ‬ its punishment Indeed, (of) Hell the punishment from us Avert O our Lord! 66 ‫ اِﻧ َﻬﺎ َﺳ َ ْت ُﻣ ْﺴﺘَﻘَ ا ﻣُﻘَﺎ ًﻣﺎ‬65 ‫َﰷنَ ﻏَ َاﻣًﺎ‬ and a resting place abode (is) an evil Indeed it is inseparable. Surah Al-Furqan:65 -66 Z ۙ83 ‫َ ِّب ﻫَﺐ ﻟِ ْﻰ ُﺣ ْﻜﻤًﺎ اَﻟْ ِﺤﻘﻨِ ْﻰ ﺑِﺎﻟﺼﻠِ ِﺤﻴْ َﻦ‬ with the righteous. and join me wisdom Grant (for) me O my Lord! ۙ84 ‫ﻓِﻰ ا ْ ِﺧ ِﻳْ َﻦ‬ ‫ِﺻﺪ ٍق‬ َ‫َاﺟﻌَﻞْ ﻟِّ ْﻰ ﻟِ َﺴﺎن‬ among the later (generations). (of) honor a mention (for) me And grant ِ‫ﻣِ ْﻦ و َﺛَﺔ‬ ‫َاﺟﻌَﻠْﻨِ ْﻰ‬ ۙ85 ‫َﺟﻨﺔِ اﻟﻨﻌِﻴْ ِﻢ‬ (of the) gardens of Delight. of (the) inheritors And make me Surah Ash-Shu’araa: 83-85 8 ْ‫ۚ ۖ۝ ﻓَﺎﻓْﺘَ ْﺢ ﺑَﻴْﻨِ ْﻰ َﺑَﻴْﻨَ ُﻬﻢ‬117 ﴿ ‫ﻗَ ْ ِﻣ ْﻰ ﻛَﺬﺑُ ْ ِن‬ ‫َ ِّب اِن‬ and between between me  So judge have denied me. my people Indeed, My Lord! them ﴾118﴿ ‫ﻧَ ِّﺠﻨِ ْﻰ َﻣَ ْﻦ ﻣﻌِ َﻰ ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟْﻤُ ْﻣِﻨِﻴْ َﻦ‬ ‫ﻓَﺘْ ًﺤﺎ‬ of the believers. are with me and who and save me (with decisive) judgment, Surah Ash-Shu’araa: 117-118 9 ﴾169﴿ َ‫ﻳَﻌْ َﻤﻠُ ْن‬ ‫َ ِّب ﻧَ ِّﺠﻨِ ْﻰ َاَﻫْﻠِ ْﻰ ِﻣﻤﺎ‬ they do. of what and my family Save me O my Lord! Surah Ash-Shu’araa: 169 : ‫اﻟﺘِﻰ اَﻧْﻌَ ْﻤ َﺖ‬ ‫َ ِّب اَ ْو ِﻋْﻨِﻰ اَنْ اَ ْﺷ ُﻜ َ ﻧِﻌْ َﻤﺘَ َﻚ‬ You have that I may thank Grant me (the) bestowed which (for) Your Favor You power My Lord! ُ‫َﻋَ ٰﲆ َاﻟِ َﺪى َاَنْ اَﻋْﻤَﻞَ َﺻﺎﻟِ ًﺤﺎ ﺗَ ْ ٰﺿﯩﻪ‬ ‫ﻋَﻠَﻰ‬ that will please You righteous deeds and that I may do and on my parents on me 132

19 ‫َاَد ِﺧﻠْﻨِ ْﻰ ﺑِ َ ْﺣﻤَﺘِ َﻚ ﻓِ ْﻰ ِﻋﺒَﺎدِ َك اﻟﺼﻠِ ِﺤﻴْ َﻦ‬ among Your slaves righteous. by Your Mercy and admit me Surah An-Namal: 19 ‫اِﻧِ ْﻰ َﻇﻠَﻤْ ُﺖ‬ ; ‫ﻧَﻔْ ِﺴ ْﻰ ﻓَﺎﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟِ ْﻰ‬ (I have) wronged  indeed, I ‫َ ِّب‬ so forgive me. my soul My Lord! Surah Al-Qasas: 16 ِ‫ﻧَ ِّﺠﻨِ ْﻰ ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟْﻘَ ْﻮم‬ < ۧ21 ‫اﻟﻈﻠِ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ‬ ‫َ ِّب‬ the wrongdoers. from the people - Save me My Lord! Surah Al-Qasas: 21 = 24 ٌ ْ‫ﻟِﻤَﺂ اَﻧ َﻟْ َﺖ اِﻟَﻰ ِﻣ ْﻦ َﺧﻴْ ٍﺮ ﻓَﻘِﻴ‬ ‫َ ِّب اِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ (in) need. of good to me You send of whatever Indeed, I am O my Lord! Surah Al-Qasas: 24 ۧ30 ‫اﻟْﻤُﻔْ ِﺴ ِﺪﻳْ َﻦ‬ ِ‫اﻧ ُﺼ ْﻧِ ْﻰ ﻋَﻠَﻰ اﻟْﻘَ ْﻮم‬ a ‫َ ِّب‬ the corrupters. against the people Help me My Lord! Surah Al-Ankaboot: 30 b ﴾100﴿ ‫ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟﺼﻠِ ِﺤﻴْ َﻦ‬ ‫ﻫَﺐ ﻟِ ْﻰ‬ ‫َ ِّب‬ of the righteous. Grant me (offspring) O my Lord! Surah As-Saaffaat: 100 c ؕ41 ‫ﺑِﻨُ ْﺼ ٍﺐ ﻋَ َﺬا ٍب‬ ‫اَﻧِ ْﻰ ﻣَﺴﻨِ َﻰ اﻟﺸﻴْ ٰﻄ ُﻦ‬ and suffering. with distress shaitaan (has) tocuhed me That [I] Surah Saad: 41 ‫ﻧِﻌْ َﻤﺘَ َﻚ اﻟﺘِﻰ اَﻧْﻌَ ْﻤ َﺖ‬ d َ ‫َ ِّب اَ ْو ِﻋْﻨِﻰ اَنْ اَ ْﺷ ُﻜ‬ You have that I may be grant me (the) bestowed which (for) Your favor grateful power My Lord! ‫ﻋَﻠَﻰ َﻋَ ٰﲆ َاﻟِ َﺪى َاَنْ اَﻋْ َﻤﻞَ َﺻﺎﻟِ ًﺤﺎ ﺗَ ْ ٰﺿﯩﻪُ َاَ ْﺻﻠِ ْﺢ ﻟِ ْﻰ‬ for me and make which please righteous and that I do and upon my upon righteous You, deeds parents me 133

15 ‫ﻓِ ْﻰ ذُرِّﻳﺘِ ْﻰ ۚ اِﻧِ ْﻰ ﺗُﺒ ُﺖ اِﻟَﻴْ َﻚ َاِﻧِ ْﻰ ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟْ ُﻤ ْﺴﻠِ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ‬ and indeed, of those who submit I am to You [I] turn Indeed, I among my offspring. 15:Surah Al-Ahqaf ‫ﻣَﻐْﻠُ ْ ٌب‬ e 10 ‫ﻓَﺎﻧﺘَ ِﺼ ْﺮ‬ ‫اَﻧِ ْﻰ‬ so help (the one) overpowered, I am Surah Al-Qamar: 10 ِ‫ِﻋﻨ َﺪ َك ﺑَﻴْﺘًﺎ ﻓِﻰ اﻟْ َﺠﻨﺔ‬ f ‫ﻟِ ْﻰ‬ ‫َ ِّب اﺑ ِﻦ‬ in Paradise, a house near You Build My Lord! ۙ11 ‫َﻧَ ِّﺠﻨِ ْﻰ ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟْﻘَ ْﻮمِ اﻟﻈﻠِ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ‬ for me َ‫َﻧَ ِّﺠﻨِ ْﻰ ﻣِﻦ ﻓِ ْﻋَ ْن‬ ٖ‫َﻋَﻤَﻠِﻪ‬ the wrongdoers. from the and save me and his (evil) from Firaun and save me Surah At-Tahreem: 11 people deeds 26 ‫دَﻳﺎ ًا‬ g ‫َ ِّب َﻻ َ َﺬ ْ ﻋَﻠَﻰ ا ْﻻَ ْ ِض ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟْ ٰﻜﻔِ ِﻳْ َﻦ‬ (as) an inhabitant. any (of) the disbelievers on the earth (Do) not leave My Lord! Surah Nuh: 26 ‫َﻟِ َاﻟِ َﺪى‬ h ‫َﻟِ َﻤ ْﻦ َد َﺧﻞَ ﺑَﻴْﺘِ َﻰ ُﻣ ْ ِﻣﻨًﺎ‬ ‫َ ِّب اﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟِ ْﻰ‬ a beliver my house enters and whoever and my parents Forgive me My Lord! ۧ28 ‫ﻟِﻠْ ُﻤ ْﻣِﻨِﻴْ َﻦ َاﻟْﻤُ ْ ِﻣﻨٰ ِﺖ َ َﻻ َ ِدِ اﻟﻈﻠِ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ اِﻻ ﺗَﺒَﺎ ًا‬ and (do) not and the believing and the believing in destruction. except the wrongdoers increase women men Surah Nuh: 28 134

Du’a after completing the Qur’an The following is a compilation of different Du’as recited by the Imams of Makkah, Madinah, and other mosques. َ‫ا‬ ،‫إِﻧﺎ ﻧَ ْﺤ َﻤ ُﺪ َك َﻧَ ْﺴﺘَﻌِﻴْﻨُ َﻚ َﻧَ ْﺴﺘَﻬْ ِﺪﻳْ َﻚ‬ and we ask You for guidance, and we ask You for help praise You We truly O Allah! ،‫ َﻧُ ْﻣِ ُﻦ ﺑِ َﻚ َﻧَﺘَ َﻮ ُ ﻋَﻠَﻴْ َﻚ‬،‫َﻧَ ْﺴﺘَﻐْﻔِ ُ َك َﻧَﺘُ ْ ُب إِﻟَﻴْ َﻚ‬ and we turn and we ask You (in repentance)  for forgiveness ،‫ ﻧَ ْﺸ ُﻜ ُ َك َ َﻻ َ ْﻜﻔُ ُ َك‬،ٗ‫َﻧُﺜْﻨِ ْﻰ ﻋَﻠَﻴْ َﻚ اﻟْ َﺨﻴْ َ ُﳇﻪ‬in You, and we keep trust  in You and we believeto You, and we are not ungrateful and we thank all of it, (in the) best You and we praise way to You, You ‫َﻧَ ْﺨﻠَ ُﻊ‬ ،‫ اَ إِﻳﺎ َك ﻧَﻌْﺒُ ُﺪ‬،‫َﻧَﺘْ ُ ُك ﻣَ ْﻦ ﻳﻔْ ُﺠ ُ َك‬ we worship You only O Allah! disobeys You. the one and we leave and we forsake who ،‫ َوإِﻟَﻴْ َﻚ ﻧَ ْﺴﻌٰ َﻧَ ْﺤﻔِ ُﺪ‬،‫َﻟَ َﻚ ﻧُ َﺼﻠِّ ْﻰ َﻧَ ْﺴ ُﺠ ُﺪ‬ and we serve, we run and towards You and we prostrate we pray and to You ‫ إِن ﻋَ َﺬاﺑَ َﻚ اﻟْ ِﺠﺪ‬،‫ﻧَ ْ ُﺟﻮ َ ْﺣ َﻤﺘَ َﻚ َﻧَ ْﺨ ٰﺸ ﻋَ َﺬاﺑَ َﻚ‬ which is Your Surely Your and we fear (to receive) we hope severe punishment punishment. Your Mercy ،‫ اَ إِﻧ َﻚ ﻗُﻠْ َﺖ َﻗَ ْﻟُ َﻚ اﻟْ َﺤﻖ اﻟْ ُﻤﺒِﻴْ ُﻦ‬.‫ﺑِﺎﻟْ ُﻜﻔﺎرِ ُﻣﻠْ ِﺤ ٌﻖ‬ and Your Indeed, will strike (to) the word You disbelievers. :ُ‫ َﺻ َﺪ َق اﷲ‬،‫َأَﻧ َﺖ أَ ْﺻ َﺪ ُق اﻟْﻘَﺎ ِﻠِﻴْ َﻦ‬clear,is true,said; O Allah! Allah: has spoken truth of those who say, the most truthful and You are ،‫ﻗُﻞْ َﺻ َﺪ َق اﷲُ ﻓَﺎﺗﺒِﻌُ ْا ِﻣﻠﺔَ إِﺑ َاﻫٖﻢَ َﺣﻨِﻴْﻔًﺎ‬ the upright, ‫(َ َﻣ ْﻦ أ َ ْﺻ َﺪ ُق ﻣِ َﻦ ا‬of) Ibraheem, (the) religion so follow Allah; ‫ ِﻣ َﻦ‬Tru‫ق‬eُ is‫أَ ْﺻ َﺪ‬ Say: .‫ِ ﻗِﻴْ ًﻼ‬ ،‫َﺣ ِﺪﻳْﺜًﺎ‬ ِ‫ا‬ ‫َﻣَ ْﻦ‬ in talking? than Allah more truthful And who is in narrating? than Allah is more and who truthful ‫َاﻟْ ِﺠ ِﻦ‬ ‫ا ْ ِﻹﻧ ِﺲ‬ ‫اﻟﺜﻘَﻠَﻴْ ِﻦ‬ ِ‫إِ ٰﱃ َﰷﻓﺔ‬ َ‫أُ ْ ِﺳﻞ‬ ‫ُ اﻟ ِﺬ ْى‬ ‫َ َﺻ َﺪ َق‬ ‫َ ُﺳ ْﻟُﻪ‬ and the the human the two was sent who His And said Jinns, beings burdensome towards all of Messneger; truth (creatures), 135

.‫ َدَا ِﻋﻴًﺎ إِﻟَﻰ اﷲِ ﺑِ ِﺈذْﻧِﻪٖ َ ِﺳ َا ًﺟﺎ ﻣﻨِﻴْ ًا‬،‫ﺑَ ِﺸﻴْ ًا ﻧَ ِﺬﻳْ ًا‬ (which is) and a lamp by His towards and caller and a warner, (as) a giver of shining. permission Allah glad tidings ِ ‫َﻻ إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ اﷲُ اﻟْ ُﻤﺘَ َ ِّﺣ ُﺪ ﻓِﻰ اﻟْ َﺠ َﻼ ِ ﺑِ َﻜ َﻤﺎ ِ اﻟْ َﺠﻤَﺎ‬ ِ w‫َا‬ith‫ ْﺣ‬pَ ‫ﻷ‬eْ rf‫ا‬eَ ct bِe‫ر‬a‫ْﻮ‬ut‫ ُﻣ‬yُ ‫ا ْﻷ‬ in majesty who is alone but Allah, (There is) no god ‫ اَﻟْ ُﻤﺘَﻔَ ِّدُ ﺑِﺘَ ْﺼ ِﻳْ ِﻒ‬،‫ﺗَﻌْ ِﻈﻴْﻤًﺎ ﺗَ ْﻜﺒِﻴْ ًا‬ and the in situations the affairs in disposing is unique and in greatness, mangnificence ٖ‫ اَﻟْﻤُﺘَﻌَﺎ ِ ﺑِﻌَ َﻈﻤَﺘِﻪ‬،‫ﻋَﻠَﻰ اﻟﺘﻔْ ِﺼﻴْ ِﻞ َا ْ ِﻹﺟ َﻤﺎ ِ ﺗَﻘ ِﺪﻳْ ًا ﺗَﺪﺑِﻴْ ًا‬ in His and in greatness who is High and in planning, in assessment completeness in details ‫اَﻟ ِﺬ ْى ﻧَ لَ اﻟْ ُﻔ ْﻗَﺎ َن َﻋ ٰﲆ َﻋﺒ ِﺪهِ ﻟِﻴَ ُﻜ ْ َن‬ ،ٖ‫َ َﻣﺠ ِﺪه‬ so that he be on His slave the criterion (Al- sent who and in His glory, ،‫اﻟْ َﻫﺎ ُب‬ Qur’an) down .‫ﻟِﻠْﻌٰﻠَ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ ﻧَ ِﺬﻳْ ًا‬ ‫َﻻ إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ اﷲُ اﻟْﻌَ ِﻳْ ُﺰ‬ the great for all the bestower, All-Mighty except Allah (There is) no god a warner. worlds, ،‫اﻟ ِّﻗَﺎ ُب‬ ِ‫ اَﻟ ِﺬ ْى َﺧ َﻀﻌَ ْﺖ ﻟِﻌَ َﻈ َﻤﺘِﻪ‬،‫اﻟﺘ ا ُب‬ ُ ‫اَﻟْﻐَ ُﻔ ْﻮ‬ all the necks, before His bent down who the Acceptor of the Oft- greatness repentance; forgiving ،‫ َ َﻻﻧَ ْﺖ ﻟِﻘُﺪ َﺗِﻪِ اﻟﺸ َﺪا ِ ُﺪ اﻟﺼ َﻼ ُب‬،‫َذَﻟ ْﺖ ﻟِ َﺠﺒَ ُ ْﺗِﻪِ اﻟ ِّﺼﻌَﺎ ُب‬ the toughest, all adversities before His And all hardships. ،‫َب ا ْﻷَ ْﺑَﺎ ِب‬before Hisand power became humbled ،‫ِﻣﻦ ُ َا ٍب‬ ‫اﻟﻨﺎ ِس‬ ‫َ ُﻣ َﺴﺒِّ ُﺐ‬ absolute ‫َ َﺧﺎﻟِ ُﻖ‬ ،‫ﺎ ِب‬sَ‫ﺒ‬o‫ْﺳ‬ftَ‫ا ْﻷ‬ power from clay, the and the of the causes, and the cause of the lords the mankind Creator of Lord ‫ ذُ اﻟﻄ ْ ِل‬،‫ﻏَﺎﻓِ ُ اﻟﺬﻧْ ِﺐ َﻗَﺎﺑِﻞُ اﻟﺘ ْ ِب َﺷ ِﺪﻳْ ُﺪ اﻟْﻌِﻘَﺎ ِب‬ owner of in penalty, severe of and the acceptor of sin, the abundance, repentance, forgiver .‫َوإِﻟَﻴْﻪِ اﻟْ َﻤﺘَﺎ ُب‬ ‫إِﻻ ﻫُ َﻮ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻪِ ﺗَ َﻮ ْ ُﺖ‬ َ‫َﻻ إِ ﻪ‬ is the return. and towards him I trusted, in Him except Him, (There is) no god 136

ٖ‫ﻟَ َﻚ اﻟْ َﺤﻤْ ُﺪ ﻋَ ٰﲆ َﻣﺎ أَﻧْﻌَﻤْ َﺖ ﺑِﻪ‬ َ‫ا‬ through it You granted on what (are) all praises For You only O Allah! (the Qur’an) favors and thanks ،ِ‫ َ َﻻ ِ َﻚ اﻟْ َﺠ ِﺴﻴْﻤَﺔ‬،ِ‫ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻨَﺎ ﻣِ ْﻦ ِﻌَ ِﻤ َﻚ اﻟْﻌَ ِﻈﻴْ َﻤﺔ‬ which are huge, and fَr‫أ‬oَ m Your bounties (which are) great; of Your blessings ‫أَﻧ‬ on us ‫إِﻟَﻴْﻨَﺎ‬ ‫ْ َﺳﻠْ َﺖ‬ ،‫ﻛُﺘُﺒِ َﻚ‬ َ ْ‫َﺧﻴ‬ ‫َﻟْ َﺖ إِﻟَﻴْﻨَﺎ‬ ‫َﺣﻴْ ُﺚ‬ the best You sent (as)   down towards us and You sent of Your books, ‫َ َﺷ َﻋْ َﺖ‬ ،‫أَﻓْ َﻀﻞَ ُ ُﺳﻠِ َﻚ‬to us ،‫ﻟَﻨَﺎ أَﻋْ َﻈﻢَ َﺷ َا ِ ِﻊ دِﻳْﻨِ َﻚ‬ And You made of Your the greatest path religion. paths of for us of Your messengers. best ،‫ َﻟَ َﻚ اﻟْ َﺤ ْﻤ ُﺪ ﺑِﺎﻟْﻘُ ْ ِن‬،ِ‫ﻟَ َﻚ اﻟْ َﺤ ْﻤ ُﺪ ﺑِﺎ ْ ِﻹ ْﺳ َﻼم‬ (are) all for (giving us) praises and and for You only for (giving us) (are) all praises For you the Qur’an, Islam, and thanks thanks ‫ َﻋَﻠ ْﻤﺘَﻨَﺎ‬،ِ‫ﻛَﻤَﺎ ﻫَ َﺪﻳْﺘَﻨَﺎ ﻟِ ْ ِﻺ ْﺳ َﻼم‬ ‫َﻟَ َﻚ اﻟْ َﺤﻤْ ُﺪ‬ and You taught us to Islam, You have guided as (are) all praises and for you us ٖ‫ﻳَﺴ ْ َت ﺑِﻪ‬ ‫َﻟَ َﻚ اﻟْ َﺤ ْﻤ ُﺪ ﻋَ ٰﲆ ﻣَﺎ‬ and thanks َ‫ ْﻜﻤَﺔ‬on‫ﺤ‬lِy ْ‫اﻟ‬ (are) all praises And for and thanks You only ،َ‫َاﻟْﻘُ ْ ن‬ You made easy on what and the Qur’an. the wisdom ‫ َﺗِ َﻼ َةِ ﻛِﺘَﺎﺑِ َﻚ اﻟْﻌَ ِﻳْ ِﺰ‬،ٖ‫ﻣِﻦ ِﺻﻴَﺎمِ َﻣَ َﻀﺎنَ َﻗِﻴَﺎﻣِﻪ‬ (which is) and the and its standing magnificent, of Your book recitation (in prayer) of Ramdan, of the fasting ِ‫ﻣِ ْﻦ َﻴْ ِﻦ َ َﺪﻳْﻪ‬ ُ‫َﻻ َﺎْﺗِﻴْﻪِ اﻟْﺒَﺎ ِﻃﻞ‬ ‫اﻟ ِﺬ ْى‬ from its front, the false (can) not reach it the one who ٌ‫ ﺗَﻨ ِﻳْﻞ‬،ٖ‫َ َﻻ ﻣِ ْﻦ َﺧﻠْﻔِﻪ‬ .‫َﺣ ِﻤﻴْ ٍﺪ‬ ‫ِﻣّ ْﻦ َﺣ ِﻜﻴْ ٍﻢ‬ and and Most nor Praiseworthy. from All-Wise a revelation from its back, َ‫ا‬ ،‫ ﺑَﻨُ ْﻮ إِ َﻣﺎ ِ َﻚ‬،‫ ﺑَﻨُ ْﻮ ﻋَﺒِﻴْ ِﺪ َك‬،‫إِﻧﺎ ﻋَﺒِﻴْ ُﺪ َك‬ Your female Indeed, we slaves, sons of Your slaves, sons of Your slaves are O Allah! 137

،‫ ﻋَﺪلٌ ﻓِﻴْﻨَﺎ ﻗَ َﻀﺎ َك‬،‫ َﻣﺎض ﻓِﻴْﻨَﺎ ُﺣ ْﻜ ُﻤ َﻚ‬،‫ﻧَ َا ِﺻﻴْﻨَﺎ ﺑِﻴَ ِﺪ َك‬ Your are in Your Your decree, for us justified command, in us running hands, our forelocks ،‫َﺳﻤﻴْ َﺖ ﺑِﻪٖ ﻧَﻔْ َﺴ َﻚ‬ ،‫ا ﺑِ ُ ِﲁّ اِ ْﺳ ٍﻢ ﻫُ َﻮ ﻟَ َﻚ‬ ‫ﻧَ ْﺴﺄَﻟُ َﻚ‬ Your-sleves with it‫ ًﺪا‬Y‫ﺣ‬oَ uَ ‫أ‬namedٗ‫ﺘَﻪ‬is‫ ْﻤ‬fo‫ﻠ‬r َ‫ﻋ‬You, ‫ْو‬wَ‫أ‬hich،‫ َﻚ‬naِ‫ﺑ‬m‫َﺎ‬e‫ِﺘ‬ in every O Allah! ‫ﻧ‬wَ‫أ‬e ask Yo‫ ْو‬uَ‫أ‬ ،‫َﺧﻠْﻘِ َﻚ‬ ‫ﻣِ ْﻦ‬ ‫ﻓِ ْﻰ‬ ٗ‫َﻟْﺘَﻪ‬ of Your creations. (to) anyone You taught us or ٖ‫أ َوِ ا ْﺳﺘَﺄ ْﺛَ ْ َت ﺑِﻪ‬in Your book, You sent it down or to it You kept it exclusively Oْ‫ن‬r َ‫أ‬ ،‫ﻓِ ْﻰ ِﻋﻠْ ِﻢ اﻟْﻐَﻴْ ِﺐ ِﻋﻨ َﺪ َك‬ with You, in the hidden knowledge َ‫اﻟْﻌَ ِﻈﻴْﻢ‬ َ‫ْ ن‬ ُ‫ﺗَﺠﻌَﻞَ اﻟْﻘ‬ ،‫ َﻧُ ْﻮ َ ُﺻ ُﺪ ْو ِﻧَﺎ‬،‫َﺑِﻴْ َﻊ ﻗُﻠُ ْﻮﺑِﻨَﺎ‬ and the the spring (which is) light /pleasure magnificent, ‫ َﻗَﺎ ِ َﺪﻧَﺎ‬،‫ َذَﻫَﺎ َب ﻫُ ُﻤ ْﻣِﻨَﺎ َﻏُﻤُ ْ ِﻣﻨَﺎ‬،‫َ َﺟ َﻼءَ أَ ْﺣ َاﻧِﻨَﺎ‬of our chests, of our hearts, the Qur’an You make that and our leader and our grief, our anxieities and remover of for our sorrows, and departure .‫اﻟﻨﻌِﻴْ ِﻢ‬ ‫َ َﺳﺎ ِﻘَﻨَﺎ إِ ٰﱃ ِ ْﺿ َاﻧِ َﻚ َوإِ ٰﱃ َﺟﻨﺎﺗِ َﻚ َﺟﻨﺎ ِت‬ of bliss. the gardens and towards Your to Your pleasure, and the one who gardens, takes us ،ً‫ِﻧَﺎ ِﺟ َﻼء‬ ‫َ ِﻷَﺑ َﺼﺎ‬ ،‫ﻟِﻘُﻠُ ْﻮﺑِﻨَﺎ ِﺿﻴَﺎءًا‬ َ‫اَ اﺟﻌَ ِﻞ اﻟْﻘُ ْ نَ اﻟْﻌَ ِﻈﻴْﻢ‬ Coolness, and for our eyes a light, for our hearts the magnificent Qur’an Make O Allah! .‫ َﻋَ ِﻦ اﻟﻨﺎرِ ُﻣ َﺨﻠِّ ًﺼﺎ‬،‫ َﻟِ ُﺬﻧُ ْﻮﺑِﻨَﺎ ُﻣ َﻤ ِّﺤ ًﺼﺎ‬،‫َ ِﻷَ ْﺳﻘَﺎ ِﻣﻨَﺎ دَ َاءًا‬ medication (the) rescuer. and from the fire eraser and for our sins , and for our illnesses ،‫ﺑِﺎﻟْﻘُ ْ ِن اﻟْﻌَ ِﻈﻴْ ِﻢ‬ ‫اﻧﻔَﻌْﻨَﺎ َا ْﻓَﻌْﻨَﺎ‬ َ‫ا‬ by the magnificent Qur’an, and raise‫ َت‬us‫َأَﻳﺪ‬ Benefit us O Allah! ،ٗ‫اَﻟ ِﺬ ْى َﻓَﻌْ َﺖ َﻣ َﲀﻧَﻪ‬ ،ٗ‫َﺑَﻴﻨ َﺖ ﺑُ ْﻫَﺎﻧَﻪ‬ ،ٗ‫ُﺳﻠْ َﻄﺎﻧَﻪ‬ its evidence, and You made its rank ُ‫َﻗُﻠْ َﺖ ﻳَﺎ أَﻋَﺰ ﻣَ ْﻦ ﻗَﺎ ِﻞ‬and Youits place,you raisedthe one clear which ُ‫ﻗَ َأْﻧَﺎه‬ ‫ ﻓَ ِﺈذَا‬،ٗ‫ُﺳﺒ َﺤﺎﻧَﻪ‬ strengthened we recite it So when He is glorified: says, who O honored and You one! said, 138

،‫ َأَﻓْ َﺼ ُﺤﻬَﺎ َ َ ﻣًﺎ‬،‫ أَ ْﺣ َﺴ ُﻦ ﻛُﺘُﺒِ َﻚ ﻧِ َﻈﺎ ًﻣﺎ‬،ٗ‫ﻓَﺎﺗﺒِ ْﻊ ﻗُ ْ ﻧَﻪ‬ of Your its then in wordings, and most eloquent in system, books the best ‫ﻼ ًﻻ‬reَ ci‫َﺣ‬tatio‫ﺎ‬n‫َﻬ‬, ُ‫ﻨ‬fَ‫ﻴ‬ol‫ﺑ‬loَ ‫أ‬wَ ،‫ُ اﻟْﺒُ ْﻫَﺎ ِن‬ ِ‫ َﻇﺎﻫ‬،‫ ُﻣ ْﺤ َﻜﻢُ اﻟْﺒَﻴَﺎ ِن‬،‫َاﻣًﺎ‬ ‫َﺣ‬ in evidence, manifest in eloquence, perfect and forbidden, in (what and more is) lawful clear ،‫ ﻓِﻴْﻪِ َﻋْ ٌﺪ و َ ِﻋﻴْ ٌﺪ‬،‫ﻣَ ْﺤ ُ ْ ٌس ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟ ِّﺰﻳَﺎ َدةِ َاﻟﻨﻘ َﺼﺎ ِن‬ and warning, promise In it (are) and shortage. from excesses protected ِ‫ َﻻ َﺎْﺗِﻴْﻪِ اﻟْﺒَﺎ ِﻃﻞُ ِﻣ ْﻦ َﻴْ ِﻦ َ َﺪﻳْﻪ‬،‫ﺗَ ْﻬ ِﺪﻳْ ٌﺪ‬ ‫َﺗَ ْﺨ ِﻳْ ٌﻒ‬ from its front falsehood can not reach it and threat, frightening (statements) .‫ِﻣ ْﻦ َﺧﻠْﻔِﻪٖ ﺗَﻨ ِﻳْﻞٌ ﻣِّ ْﻦ َﺣ ِﻜﻴْ ٍﻢ َﺣ ِﻤﻴْ ٍﺪ‬ ‫َ َﻻ‬ ،‫ﻚ‬Mَ oُs‫ﺘ‬t‫ﺻ‬Pra‫ﺎ‬is‫َﺧ‬e-َworth‫ َﻚ‬y. ُ‫أَﻫْﻠ‬fromْ‫ﻢ‬Aُl‫ﻫ‬l-W‫ َﻦ‬iseْ‫ﻳ‬,‫ا َﻟ ِﺬ‬a revelation ‫ِﻞ‬froْ‫ﻫ‬mَ ‫أ‬its‫ ْﻦ‬bِ‫ﻣ‬ack, and nor َ‫ا‬ ،‫اﻟْﻘُ ْ ِن‬ ‫اﺟﻌَﻠْﻨَﺎ‬ and closest to are Your those who from the companions of Make us O Allah! You, (people) Qur’an, ،‫ذَ ِّ ْﻧَﺎ ﻣِﻨْﻪُ َﻣﺎ ﻧُ ِّﺴﻴْﻨَﺎ‬ َ‫ ا‬.ِ‫ﻳَﺎ ذَا اﻟْ َﺠ َﻼ ِ َا ْ ِﻹﻛْ َام‬ we are made You make us to forget, what from it remember O Allah! and honor. Possessor of glory or ‫ َا ْ ُﻗﻨَﺎ ﺗِ َﻼ َﺗَﻪٗ ﻧَﺎءَ اﻟﻴْ ِﻞ‬،‫َﻋَﻠِّﻤْﻨَﺎ ﻣِﻨْﻪُ َﻣﺎ َﺟ ِﻬﻠْﻨَﺎ‬ the (during) the its and grant us we (do) not know, what from it and teach us .‫ ﻋَﻠَﻰ اﻟْ َﺟﻪِ اﻟ ِﺬ ْى ﻳُ ْ ِﺿﻴْ َﻚ ﻋَﻨﺎ‬،ِ‫َأَﻃ َا َف اﻟﻨ َﻬﺎر‬night periods of recitation (tawfeeq) with us. makes you pleased which in the way the day, and the ends of ‫اَ اﺟﻌَﻠْﻨَﺎ ﻣِﻤ ْﻦ ﻳ ِﺤﻞ‬ ،ٗ‫َﺣ َﻼﻟَﻪٗ َﻳُ َﺤ ِّﺮمُ َﺣ َا َﻣﻪ‬ makes ‫ُﻦ‬am‫ ِﻣ‬oْwngُ‫ﻳ‬hotَ ho،seٖ‫َﻜ ِﻤﻪ‬Ma‫ْﺤ‬keُ‫ﻤ‬usِ‫ﺑ‬ its haram, and forbids (of) its halal permissible O Allah! .ٖ‫ِ َﻼ َﺗِﻪ‬ ‫ْهُ َﺣﻖ‬ ُ‫ َﻳَﺘْﻠ‬،ٖ‫ﺑِﻤُﺘَ َﺸﺎﺑِ ِﻬﻪ‬ ُ‫َﻳَﻌْ َﻤﻞ‬ (with) its true recital. and recites it in its allegorical and on its clear and acts rulings, (verses), believes َ‫ا‬ ،ٗ‫ِﻣﻤ ْﻦ ﻳﻘِﻴْﻢُ ُﺣ ُ ْﻓَﻪٗ َ ُﺣ ُﺪ ْدَه‬ ‫اﺟﻌَﻠْﻨَﺎ‬ and its limits, its words establish among those who Make us O Allah! 139

،ٗ‫َ َﻻ َﺠﻌَﻠْﻨَﺎ ِﻣﻤ ْﻦ ﻳﻘِﻴْﻢُ ُﺣ ُ ْﻓَﻪٗ َﻳُ َﻀﻴِّ ُﻊ ُﺣ ُﺪ ْدَه‬ ،َ‫ َأَ ْﺳ ِﻜﻨﺎ ﺑِﻪِ اﻟﻈﻠَﻞ‬،َ‫اَ أَﻟْﺒِ ْﺴﻨَﺎ ﺑِﻪِ اﻟْ ُﺤﻠَﻞ‬its limits. and break its words establish among those who and do not make us in the by it and place us the best by it Dress us O Allah! shades, clothing, ِ‫ﺑِﻪ‬ ‫َأَ ْﺳﺒِ ْﻎ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻨَﺎ‬ ‫ﻋَﻨﺎ‬ ٖ‫َادﻓَ ْﻊ ﺑِﻪ‬ ،َ‫اﻟﻨِﻌَﻢ‬ ،َ‫اﻟﻨِﻘَﻢ‬ the favors. by it upon us and bestow afflictions; from us through it and remove amply ،‫َاﺟﻌَﻠْﻨَﺎ ﺑِﻪٖ ِﻋﻨ َﺪ اﻟْﺒَ َﻼ ِء ِﻣﻦ اﻟﺼﺒِ ِﻳْ َﻦ‬ among the patient ones, in hard times by it And make us ،‫ َ ِﻋﻨ َﺪ َﺧﺘْ ِﻤﻪٖ ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟْﻔَﺎ ِ ِﻳْ َﻦ‬،‫َ ِﻋﻨ َﺪ اﻟﻨﻌْﻤَﺎ ِء ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟﺸ ِﻜ ِﻳْ َﻦ‬ among the successful from those who give and in favors (good ones. and at its ending thanks; times) ،‫ا ْﺳﺘَ ْﻬ َﺗْﻪُ اﻟﺸﻴٰ ِﻄﻴْ ُﻦ‬ ‫ِﻣﻤ ِﻦ‬ ‫َ َﻻ َﺠﻌَﻠْﻨَﺎ‬  the devils enticed him to wander from those who And do not make us ،‫ﻋَ ِﻦ اﻟ ِّﺪﻳْ ِﻦ‬ ‫ﺑِﺎﻟﺪﻧْﻴَﺎ‬ ُ‫ﻓَ َﺸﻐَﻠَﺘْﻪ‬ away from the religion, ِ‫َة‬ ‫ِﺧ‬ ْ ‫ا‬ with the world ‫ َﻦ‬an‫ِﻣ‬d enga‫ﺢ‬gَ edَ‫ﺒ‬h‫ْﺻ‬imَ ‫ﻓَﺄ‬ .‫ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟْ ٰﺨ ِﺴ ِﻳْ َﻦ‬ ‫ َﻓِﻰ‬،‫اﻟﻨﺎدِ ِﻣﻴْ َﻦ‬ and in the hereafter ،‫ﻳﻘ َأُ اﻟْﻘُ ْ نَ ﻓَﻴَ ْ ٰﰵ‬among the losers. among the regretful, so he became ‫اَ اﺟﻌَﻠْﻨَﺎ ِﻣﻤ ْﻦ‬ . ٰ‫َ َﻻ َﺠﻌَﻠْﻨَﺎ ﻣِﻤ ْﻦ ﻳﻘ َأُ اﻟْﻘُ ْ نَ ﻓَﻴَ ْﺸﻘ‬then he goes higher, the Quran recite from those who Make us O Allah! ْ ‫ﻳﻘَﺎ ُ ﻟَﻪٗ اِﻗ َأ‬then becomes wretched. the Quran recite from those who and do not make us ‫اَ اﺟﻌَﻠْﻨَﺎ ِﻣﻤ ْﻦ‬ Read to him: will be said among those who, Make us O Allah! ُ‫ﺗُ َﺗِّﻞ‬ ‫ﻛُﻨ َﺖ‬ ‫َو َﺗِّﻞْ ﻛَ َﻤﺎ‬ ‫َا ْﺗَ ِﻖ‬ and recite slowly and recite slowly and distinctly you used as distinctly and climb; to 140

.‫ ﻓَ ِﺈن ﻣَﻨ ِﻟَﺘَ َﻚ ِﻋﻨ َﺪ ِﺧ ِﺮ ﻳَﺔٍ ﺗَﻘ َأُﻫَﺎ‬،‫ﻓِﻰ اﻟﺪﻧْﻴَﺎ‬ that you will recite. will be on the last verse your destination so indeed in the world. ‫ﻟﻨَﺎ‬ ً‫اﺟﻌَ ِﻞ اﻟْﻘُ ْ نَ ُﺣﺠﺔ‬ َ‫ا‬ for us a witness َ‫أ َ ْ َﺣﻢ‬the Qur’an ‫ﻳَﺎ‬ Make O Allah! .‫ا ِﺣ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ‬ ‫اﻟ‬ ‫ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻨَﺎ‬ ً‫َ َﻻ ُﺣﺠﺔ‬ those wo show mercy. the most Merciful of ‫ا َ إ ِﻧﺎ ﻧَ ْﺴﺄ َﻟُ َﻚ‬O against us and not a witness ٖ‫ ﻋَﺎ ِﺟﻠِﻪ‬،ٖ‫ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟْ َﺨﻴْ ِﺮ ُﳇِّﻪ‬ we ask You Indeed, we O Allah! its urgent part (in this world) of the good, all of it, ‫ ﻣَﺎ ﻋَﻠِ ْﻤﻨَﺎ‬،ٖ‫َ ِﺟﻠِﻪ‬ ،ْ‫َﻣَﺎ ﻟَﻢْ َﻌْﻠَﻢ‬ ُ‫ِﻣﻨْﻪ‬ And which we do not know. from it which we know and its late part (in the ‫ﻧَﺒِﻴ َﻚ ُﻣ َﺤﻤ ٌﺪ‬ ُ‫َﺧﻴْ ِﺮ ﻣَﺎ َﺳﺄَﻟَ َﻚ ِﻣﻨْﻪ‬ ‫ ﻣِ ْﻦ‬h‫ َﻚ‬ereُ‫ﻟ‬aَf‫ﺄ‬te‫ْﺴ‬r) َ‫َﻧ‬ Your Prophet Muhammad   (‫ )ﷺ‬of what asked You from it, of the good And we ask You ،ٖ‫ َﻧَﻌُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟﺸ ِّﺮ ُ ِّﻪ‬،َ‫ِﻋﺒَﺎ ُد َك اﻟﺼﺎﻟِ ُﺤ ْن‬ from the evil, all of it, in You And we seek refuge (who are) righteous. and Your slaves, ُ‫ﻣَﺎ ﻋَﻠِﻤْﻨَﺎ ِﻣﻨْﻪ‬ ،ٖ‫َ ِﺟﻠِﻪ‬ ٖ‫ﻋَﺎ ِﺟﻠِﻪ‬ from it what we know and its late part (in the its urgent part (in this world) hereafter) ‫ﺑِ َﻚ ﻣِﻦ َﺷ ِّﺮ‬ ،ْ‫َﻣَﺎ ﻟَﻢْ َﻌْﻠَﻢ‬ ُ‫َﻧَﻌُ ْذ‬ from the evil in You And we seek refuge and what we do not know. ،َ‫اﻟﺼﺎﻟِ ُﺤ ْن‬ ‫َﻣﺎ ا ْﺳﺘَﻌَﺎذَ ِﻣﻨْﻪُ ﻧَﺒِﻴ َﻚ َ ِﻋﺒَﺎ ُد َك‬ ‫َﻧَ ْﺴﺄ َﻟُ َﻚ اﻟْ َﺠﻨﺔَ َﻣَﺎ ﻗَ َب‬and Your slaves (who are) the righteous. from which Your prophet sought refuge ‫إِﻟَﻴْ َﻬﺎ ِﻣﻦ ﻗَ ْ ٍل‬ from the and that words to it makes close which the garden And we ask You ‫ َﻧَﻌُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟﻨﺎرِ َﻣَﺎ ﻗَ َب‬،‫ﻋَﻤ ٍﻞ‬ makes close and that which from the fire in You and we seek refuge and [the] deeds, 141

‫ﻋَﻤَ ٍﻞ‬ ‫ﻣِﻦ ﻗَ ْ ٍل‬ ‫إِﻟَﻴْﻬَﺎ‬ and the deeds. from the words to it ،ٗ‫اَ َﻻ َ َعْ ﻟَﻨَﺎ ذَﻧْﺒًﺎ إِﻻ ﻏَﻔَ ْﺗَﻪ‬ You have forgiven it, except (that) any sin for us do not leave O Allah! ‫ َ َﻻ ﻫَﻤﺎ إِﻻ‬،ٗ‫َ َﻻ ﻋَﻴْﺒًﺎ إِﻻ َﺳﺘَ ْﺗَﻪ‬ ،ٗ‫ﻓَ ﺟﺘَﻪ‬ except and nor any except and nor any (that) worry You have covered it (that) fault You relieved it, ‫ َ َﻻ دَﻳْﻨًﺎ إِﻻ‬،ٗ‫َ َﻻ َ ْﺑًﺎ إِﻻ ﻧَﻔ ْﺴﺘَﻪ‬ ،ٗ‫ﻗَ َﻀﻴْﺘَﻪ‬ You paid it, except and nor any You removed it, except and nor any (that) (that) distress ٌ ‫ﻟَﻨَﺎ َﺻ َﻼ‬ debt ‫َ َﻻ َﺣﺎ َﺟﺔً ﻫِ َﻰ ﻟَ َﻚ‬ for You ‫ِ ًﺿﺎ‬ .‫أَ ْ َﺣﻢَ اﻟ ا ِﺣ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ‬goodness and for usa pleasure which is and nor any need ‫إِﻻ ﻗَ َﻀﻴْﺘَ َﻬﺎ ﻳَﺎ‬ of those who show the Most Merciful O You (have) fulfilled it but mercy. ‫َ ِّب‬ ِ‫َاﻟْ َﺤ ْﻤ ُﺪ ِﷲ‬ ،‫اﻟْﻌٰﻠَ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ‬ the) Lord are due to Allah, And all praises and thanks of the worlds ٗ‫َ َﺻﻠَ َا ُت اﷲِ َ َﺳ َﻼ ُﻣﻪ‬ ‫ﻋَ ٰﲆ َﺧﺎﺗَ ِﻢ اﻟﻨﺒِﻴِّ َﻦ‬ and His peace of Allah And mercy the prophets be upon the seal of ،‫ َﻋَ ٰﲆ ﻟِﻪِ اﻟﻄﻴِّﺒِﻴْ َﻦ اﻟﻄﺎﻫِ ِﻳْ َﻦ‬،‫َوإِ َﻣﺎمِ اﻟْﻤُ ْ َﺳﻠِﻴْ َﻦ‬ and cْ‫ز‬leَ‫أ‬an‫ﲆ‬,ٰ َ‫َﻋ‬ (who are) pure and upon his family of the messengers, and leader ِ ‫َا ِﺟﻪ‬ ،‫َ َﺻ َﺤﺎﺑَﺘِﻪِ اﻟْﻐُ ِّﺮ اﻟْ َﻤﻴَﺎ ِﻣﻴْ َﻦ‬ and upon his wives who are given light and (on) his companions ‫اﻟﻄﺎﻫِ َا ِت أُﻣﻬَﺎ ِت‬and blessed, ،‫اﻟْ ُﻤ ْﻣِﻨِﻴْ َﻦ‬ the believers, mothers of who are [the] pure, ‫إِ ٰﱃ َ ْﻮمِ اﻟ ِّﺪﻳْ ِﻦ‬ ‫َﻣَﻦ َﺒِﻌَﻬُﻢْ ﺑِ ِﺈ ْﺣ َﺴﺎ ٍن‬ ‫َﻋَﻠَﻰ اﻟﺘﺎﺑِﻌِﻴْ َﻦ‬ till the day of judgment, with excellence and those who and on the followers follow them 142

.‫ﺑِ َ ْﺣ َﻤﺘِ َﻚ َ ُﺟ ْدِ َك َو َ َﻣِ َﻚ ﻳَﺎ أَﻛْ َمَ ا ْﻷَﻛْ َ ِﻣﻴْ َﻦ‬ O the most generous of those who show and from your and Your with Your mercy generosity. generosity benevolence َ‫ا‬ ‫ﻫٰ َﺬا اﻟﺪﻋَﺎءُ َﻋَﻠَﻴْ َﻚ‬ ُ‫ا ْ ِﻻ ْﺘِ َﺠﺎﺑَﺔ‬ (its) acceptance and (it is) upon You this is an invocation O Allah! ،ُ‫اﻟﺘ ْ َ ن‬ ‫َﻋَﻠَﻴْ َﻚ‬ ‫اﻟْ َﺠﻬْ ُﺪ‬ ‫َﻫٰ َﺬا‬ is trust, and upon You an attempt and this is .ِ‫َ َﻻ َﺣ ْلَ َ َﻻ ﻗُ ةَ إِﻻ ِﺎ ّﷲ‬ (Sahih Ibn Khuzaimah: 1054) except with (the help of) and no power (to do and there is no strength Allah. good) (to resist evil) 143

Raqyah Shar'iyyah Ruqya Shariya is an act of reciting in which a Muslim seeks cure from Allah swt through Quranic verses, Allah’s names, and adhkar approved by Prophet ᤖ . It can be used to cure physical and spiritual diseases like fear, agony, distress, madness, evil eye, and evil effects of Jinns and magic etc. Ruqya was also used for the treatment of Hasan (R) and Hussain (R) and the companions of Prophet ᤖ . Jibra’eel (AS) taught a few Du’as to Prophet (Pubh) by the order of Allah using which the Prophet used to do Ruqya upon himself too. Conditions for Ruqya Shariya: B Ruqya should be from the verses of the Quran or from the recitations approved by the Prophet ᤖ . C Ruqya is to be done by reciting and pondering upon the meanings of the Quranic verses and the invocations. Keep firm faith and trust in Allah that He is As-Shafi, the Healer. These verses and recitations are a means of treatment and they become effective by the order of Allah only. D Keep yourself away from all actions and practices that lead to Shirk and do not do any thing that is not approved by the Prophet ᤖ . E Offer Salah on time with full devotion and attention and ask Allah for cure. F Recite Surah Al-Baqarah in your house and in your workplace. G Keep your house free from pictures and other evil things because angels do not visit such places and shayateen dwell there. H Reciting morning and evening Du’as regularly and keep trust that only Allah will help you get rid of the problems. I Do not get disappointed or lose hope if you are not cured immediately. Show patience and keep full faith and trust in Allah. Keep away from doubts, fear, and frustration. Always be prepared and alert to fight the devil and evil desires. Methods of Treatment: B Blow upon the area after reciting Ruqya. C Blow upon water and then drink it. D Put your hand on the area where it hurts while reciting. E Recite the Azaan repeatedly in the right ear of the patient because shayateen run away upon hearing the Azaan. 144

Ruqya through Al-Qur’an Start Ruqya with those Quranic Verses which are recommended and approved by Sunnah. For example, the starting verses of Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayat- al-Kursi, the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah, Surah Al-Kafiroon, Surah Al- Ikhlas, Surah Al-Falaq, and Surah An-Naas. The selceted verses as mentioned above are given below, along with their meanings so that you recite them with understanding. Pondering on their meanings while reciting these verses help you develop stronger faith in Allah, in addition to bringing the blessings from Him upon yourself. Surah Al-Fatihah ﴾ ۙ2 ‫ ﴾ اَﻟْ َﺤﻤْ ُﺪ ِﷲِ َ ِّب اﻟْﻌٰﻠَ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ‬1 ‫ﺑِ ْﺴ ِﻢ اﷲِ اﻟ ْﺣ ٰﻤ ِﻦ اﻟ ِﺣﻴْ ِﻢ‬ the (be) to All Praises the Most In the name of the worlds, Rabb Allah and Thanks the Most Merciful. Gracious of Allah ﴾ ؕ4 ‫اﻟ ِّﺪﻳْ ِﻦ‬ ِ‫ﻳَ ْﻮم‬ ‫ۙ ﴾ ٰﻣﻠِ ِﻚ‬3 ‫اﻟ ْﺣﻤٰ ِﻦ اﻟ ِﺣﻴْ ِﻢ‬ (of the) judment. (of the) day (the) Master the Most Merciful, the Most Gracious ﴾ ۙ6 َ‫ؕ ﴾ اِﻫْ ِﺪﻧَﺎ اﻟ ِّﺼ َا َط اﻟْﻤُ ْﺴﺘَﻘِﻴْﻢ‬5 ‫اِﻳﺎ َك ﻧَﻌْﺒُ ُﺪ َاِﻳﺎ َك ﻧَ ْﺴﺘَﻌِﻴْ ُﻦ‬ the straight. (to) the path, Guide us we ask for help. and You we worship, You alone alone ْ‫ﻋَﻠَﻴْ ِﻬﻢ‬ ‫ِﺻ َا َط اﻟ ِﺬﻳْ َﻦ اَﻧْﻌَ ْﻤ َﺖ‬ on them, You have bestowed (Your) Favors (of) those (The) path ﴾ ۧ7 ‫ﻋَﻠَﻴْ ِﻬﻢْ َ َﻻ اﻟﻀ ﻟِّﻴْ َﻦ‬ ‫اﻟْﻤَﻐْ ُﻀ ْ ِب‬ ‫ﻏَﻴْ ِﺮ‬ (of) those who go astray. and not on themselves those who earned (Your) wrath  not (of) Surah Al-Fatiha: 1-7 Ayatul Kursi ٌ‫اَ ُ َﻵ َ اِﻻﻫُ َﻮ اَﻟْ َﺤﻰ اﻟْﻘَﻴ ْﻮمُ َﻻ َﺎْ ُﺧ ُﺬهٗ ِﺳﻨَﺔ‬ Slumber does not the Sustainer (of the Ever- except (there is) no God Allah- overtake Him all that exists). Living Him, ‫ﻓِﻰ اﻟﺴ ٰﻤ ٰ ِت َ َﻣﺎ ﻓِﻰ ا ْﻻَ ْ ِض‬ ‫َﻻ َ ْﻮمٌ ﻟَﻪٗ ﻣَﺎ‬ and what  what To Him and nor (is) in the earth. (ever) (is) in the heavens (ever) (belongs) sleep. ٖ‫اِﻻ ﺑِﺎِذْﻧِﻪ‬ ‫َﻣ ْﻦ ذَا اﻟ ِﺬ ْى‬ by His ‫ﻳَ ْﺸﻔَ ُﻊ ِﻋﻨ َﺪه‬ permission? except with Him can intercede (is) the one who Who 145

ٍ‫ﻳَﻌْﻠَﻢُ َﻣﺎ ﺑَﻴْ َﻦ اَﻳْ ِﺪﻳْ ِﻬﻢْ َ َﻣﺎ َﺧﻠْﻔَ ُﻬﻢْ َ َﻻ ُ ِﺤﻴْ ُﻄ ْنَ ﺑِ َﺸ ْﻰء‬ And they do not (is) behind and He anything encompass them. what (is) before them what knows ‫ﻣِ ْﻦ ِﻋﻠْ ِﻤﻪٖۤ اِﻻ ﺑِﻤَﺎ َﺷ َ َ ِﺳ َﻊ ﻛُ ْ ِﺳﻴﻪُ اﻟﺴﻤٰ ٰ ِت َا ْﻻَ ْ َض‬ and the earth. (to) the His throne Extends He (of) except of His heavens  willed. what knowledge ﴾ ﴿255 ُ‫َ َﻻ َ ُ ْ ُدهٗ ِﺣﻔْ ُﻈﻬُ َﻤﺎ َﻫُ َﻮ اﻟْﻌَﻠِﻰ اﻟْﻌَ ِﻈﻴْﻢ‬ the Most Great. (is) the Most High, And He (the) guarding of And not tires Him both of them. Last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah Narrated Abu Mas`ud Al-Ansari :The Prophetᤖ   said, \"If one recites the last two Verses of Surat-al-Baqarah at night, it is sufficient for him (for that night).\" (Bukhari: 5040) It is sufficient means that it will be sufficient for him for protection from Shayateen or evil Jinns. ‫ِﷲِ َﻣﺎ ﻓِﻰ اﻟﺴ ٰﻤ ٰ ِت َ َﻣﺎ ﻓِﻰ ا ْﻻَ ْ ِض َاِنْ ﺗُﺒ ُﺪ ْا َﻣﺎ‬ what you And if (is) in the earth. and (is) in heavens whatever To Allah disclose whatever (belongs) ‫ﻓِﻰ اَﻧﻔُ ِﺴ ُﻜﻢْ اَ ْو ﺗُ ْﺨﻔُ ْهُ ﻳُ َﺤﺎ ِﺳﺒ ُﻜﻢْ ﺑِﻪِ اﷲُ ﻓَﻴَﻐْﻔِ ُ ﻟِﻤَ ْﻦ‬ whom Then, He Allah. for will call you to you or (is) in yourselves will forgive it account conceal it, ﴾ ﴿284 ٌ ْ‫ﻳ َﺸ ُ َﻳُﻌَ ِّﺬ ُب َﻣ ْﻦ ﻳ َﺸ ُ َا ُ ﻋَ ٰﲆ ُ ِﰻّ َﺷ ْﻰءٍ ﻗَ ِﺪﻳ‬ (is) And and He will All- powerful. on every thing Allah He wills. whom punish He wills, َ‫َاﻟْﻤُ ْﻣِﻨُ ْن‬ ٖ‫ﻣَ َﻦ اﻟ ُﺳ ْلُ ﺑِ َﻤﺂ اُﻧ ِلَ اِﻟَﻴْﻪِ ِﻣ ْﻦ ﺑِّﻪ‬ The Messenger from His to him was The Messenger believed Lord revealed believed ٖ‫َ َﻣﻠ َﻜﺘِﻪٖ َو ُﺘُﺒِﻪٖ َو ُ ُﺳﻠِﻪ‬and the believers. in what and His ِ‫ﺑِﺎﷲ‬ ‫ُﰻ‬ angels, ‫ﻣَ َﻦ‬ and His Messengers. and His books, in Allah, believed All ‫َﻻﻧُﻔَ ِّ ُق ﺑَﻴْ َﻦ اَ َﺣ ٍﺪ ﻣِ ْﻦ ُﺳﻠِﻪٖ َﻗَﺎﻟُ ْا َﺳ ِﻤﻌْﻨَﺎ‬ We heard And they said: of His Messengers. any between We make no distinction ﴾ ﴿285 ُ ْ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ َاِﻟَﻴْ َﻚ اﻟْ َﻤ ِﺼﻴ‬ ‫ﻏُﻔْ َاﻧَ َﻚ‬ ‫َاَ َﻃﻌْﻨَﺎ‬ (is) the return. and to You our Lord, (Grant us) Your forgiveness and we obeyed. 146

‫ﻧَﻔْ ًﺴﺎ اِﻻ ُ ْﺳﻌَﻬَﺎ‬ ُ‫َﻻﻳُ َﳫِّ ُﻒ اﷲ‬ (to) it's capacity; except any soul Allah does not burden ‫ﻟَ َﻬﺎ َﻣﺎ ﻛَ َﺴﺒَ ْﺖ َﻋَﻠَﻴْﻬَﺎ َﻣﺎ ا ْﺘَ َﺴﺒَ ْﺖ‬ (is) it earned. what and against it it earned, what For it ‫اَ ْﺧ َﻄﺎْﻧَﺎ‬ ‫ﻧ ِﺴﻴْﻨَﺂ اَ ْو‬ ْ‫َﻻ ُ َا ِﺧ ْﺬ َﺂ اِن‬ ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ‬ we err. or we forget if (Do)don't take us to task Our Lord! ْ‫َ َﻻ َ ْﺤ ِﻤﻞ‬ ‫اِ ْﺻ ًا‬ ‫ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻨَﺂ‬ And (do)not lay ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ‬ a burden upon us Our Lord! ‫َﺣ َﻤﻠْﺘَﻪٗ ﻋَﻠَﻰ اﻟ ِﺬﻳْ َﻦ ﻣِﻦ ﻗَﺒﻠِﻨَﺎ‬ ‫ﻛَﻤَﺎ‬ (were) before us. on those who You laid it as ٖ‫َ َﻻ ﺗُ َﺤ ِﻤﻠْﻨَﺎ َﻣﺎ َﻻ َﻃﺎﻗَﺔَ ﻟَﻨَﺎ ﺑِﻪ‬ of it, (to bear). we have no strength ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ‬ what burden us And (do) not Our Lord! ‫َاﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟَﻨَﺎ َا ْ َﺣ ْﻤﻨَﺎ‬ ‫َاﻋْ ُﻒ ﻋَﻨﺎ‬ and have mercy on us. and forgive us, And pardon us, ِ‫اَﻧ َﺖ ﻣَ ْﻮ ﯩﻨَﺎ ﻓَﺎﻧ ُﺼ ْﻧَﺎ ﻋَﻠَﻰ اﻟْﻘَ ْﻮم‬ ﴾2ۧ86﴿ ‫اﻟْ ٰﻜﻔِ ِﻳْ َﻦ‬ against so help us our Protector, You (are) the disbelieving people. 628 Surah Al-Baqarah: 284-286 Surah Al-Ikhlas Whenever the Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬went to bed every night, he used to cup his hands together and blow over it after reciting Surat Al-Ikhlas, Surat Al-Falaq and Surat An-Nas, and then rub his hands over whatever parts of his body he was able to rub, starting with his head, face and front of his body. He used to do that three times (Bukhari, 5017). ﴾ ۚ2 ‫ۚ ﴾ اَ ُ اﻟﺼﻤَ ُﺪ‬1 ‫اَ َﺣ ٌﺪ‬ ُ‫ﻗُﻞْ ﻫُ َﻮ اﷲ‬ the Absolute, Allah, the one. (is) Allah, He Say: the self-sufficient. ﴾ ۧ4 ‫َﻟَﻢْ َ ُﻜ ْﻦ ﻟﻪٗ ﻛُﻔُ ًا اَ َﺣ ٌﺪ‬ ﴾ ۙ3 ‫َﻟَﻢْ ُ ْﻟَﺪ‬ ‫ﻟَﻢْ َﻠِﺪ‬ anyone. comparable for Him And not and nor is He begotton. He did not beget Surah Al-Ikhlas: 1-4 147

Surah Al-Falaq Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Naas called \"Al-Mu'awwadhatan\". It is mentioned in the Hadith that reciting Surah Al-Ikhlas, Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Naas in the morning and evening saves us from all kind of evils. (Abu Dawud: 5028) Like this, It is Sunnah also to recite these three Surahs before sleep in the night. Ayesha RA narrated that whenever Allah's Messenger ᤖ became sick, he would recite Mu'awwidhat (Surat Al-Falaq and Surat An- Nas) and then blow his breath over his body. (Bukhari: 5016) ﴾ ۙ2 ‫ۙ ﴾ ﻣِﻦ َﺷ ِّﺮ ﻣَﺎ َﺧﻠَ َﻖ‬1 ‫ﻗُﻞْ اَﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َ ِّب اﻟْﻔَﻠَ ِﻖ‬ (of) what He created, from (the) evil (of) the dawn, in (the) Lord I seek refuge Say: ﴾ ۙ4 ‫ۙ ﴾ َ ِﻣﻦ َﺷ ِّﺮ اﻟﻨﻔﺜٰ ِﺖ ﻓِﻰ اﻟْﻌُﻘَ ِﺪ‬3 ‫َﻣِﻦ َﺷ ِّﺮ ﻏَﺎ ِﺳ ٍﻖ إِذَا َﻗَ َﺐ‬ (of) those who and from and from in the knots, blow (the) evil when it spreads, (of) darkness (the) evil ﴾ ۧ5 ‫اِذَا َﺣ َﺴ َﺪ‬ ‫َﻣِﻦ َﺷ ِّﺮ َﺣﺎ ِﺳ ٍﺪ‬ when he envies. (of) an envier and from (the) evil Surah Al-Falaq: 1-5 Surah An-Naas ﴾ ۙ2 ‫ۙ ﴾ ﻣَﻠِ ِﻚ اﻟﻨﺎ ِس‬1 ‫ﻗُﻞْ اَﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َ ِّب اﻟﻨﺎ ِس‬ (of) mankind, (the King) of mankind, in (the) Lord I seek refuge Say: ﴾ ۙ4 ‫ۙ ﴾ ِﻣﻦ َﺷ ِّﺮ اﻟْ َ ْﺳ َا ِس اﻟْ َﺨﻨﺎ ِس‬3 ‫ِ اﻟﻨﺎ ِس‬ the one who withdraws, (of) the whisperer, from (the) evil (of) mankind, ( the) God ﴾ ۧ6 ‫ۙ ﴾ ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟْ ِﺠﻨﺔِ َاﻟﻨﺎ ِس‬5 ‫اﻟ ِﺬ ْى ﻳُ َ ْﺳ ِ ُس ﻓِ ْﻰ ُﺻ ُﺪ ْورِ اﻟﻨﺎ ِس‬ the one and mankind. from the Jinn (of) mankind, in (the) chests whispers who Surah An-Naas: 1-6 148
