‫ َ َﻻ ُﻣﻌْ ِﻄ َﻰ‬،‫اَ َﻻ َﻣﺎﻧِ َﻊ ﻟِﻤَﺎ أَﻋْ َﻄﻴْ َﺖ‬ one who can (there is) and no .‫ َ َﻻ َﻨﻔَ ُﻊ ذَا اﻟْ َﺠ ِّﺪ ِﻣﻨ َﻚ اﻟْ َﺠﺪ‬،‫ﻟِ َﻤﺎ ﻣَﻨَﻌْ َﺖ‬one who can givewhat O Allah! You have given, withhold no with glory against You the glory of the and does not You what anyone benefit (him) stopped, ‫ ﻟَﻪُ اﻟْ ُﻤﻠْ ُﻚ‬،ٗ‫(َﻻ إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ اﷲُ َ ْﺣ َﺪهٗ َﻻ َﺷ ِﻳْ َﻚ ﻟَﻪ‬Bukhari:844) to Him there is no He is belongs partner Alone, the to Him, .ٌ ْ‫ َﻫُ َﻮ ﻋَ ٰﲆ ُ ِﰻّ َﺷ ْﻰ ٍء ﻗَ ِﺪﻳ‬،‫َﻟَﻪُ اﻟْ َﺤﻤْ ُﺪ‬kingdom except Allah, there is no God All-powerful. over every thing and He is are all praises and and to Him thanks are, ،ِ‫ﻗُ ةَ إِﻻ ﺑِﺎﷲ‬ ‫َ َﻻ‬ ‫َﻻ‬ َ‫َﺣ ْل‬ with (the help and there There of) Allah, is no is no ‫َﻻ إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ اﷲُ َ َﻻ َﻌْﺒُ ُﺪ‬power (to do good) except power (to resist evil) ،ُ‫إِﻻ إِﻳﺎه‬ there is no God ُ‫َﻟَﻪ‬Him alone, ُ‫ﻟَﻪُ اﻟﻨِﻌْ َﻤﺔُ َﻟَﻪُ اﻟْﻔَ ْﻀﻞ‬except and we do not worship except Allah, and to Him all grace and to him belongs all bounties to Him belongs ‫ َﻻ إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ اﷲُ ُﻣ ْﺨﻠِ ِﺼﻴْ َﻦ‬،‫اﻟﺜﻨَﺎءُ اﻟْ َﺤ َﺴ ُﻦ‬ Ǥَ‫(اﻟْ َﲀﻓِ ُ ْن‬We are) sincere except Allah. there is no God is the best praise, َ‫ﻛَ ِه‬ ‫َﻟَ ْﻮ‬ ‫ﻟَﻪُ اﻟ ِّﺪﻳْ َﻦ‬ to Him the disbelievers detest (it). and even though (in) religion, to Him (Muslim: 594)  Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ᤖ as saying: If anyone does tasbeeh of Allah (ِ‫) ُﺳﺒ َﺤﺎنَ اﷲ‬after every praises Allah (ِ‫ )اَﻟْ َﺤ ْﻤ ُﺪ ِﷲ‬33 times, and declares prayer 33 times, and His Greatness (ُ َ‫)اَ ُ أَﻛْﺒ‬ 33 times, ninety-nine times in all, and says to complete a hundred: ٌ ْ‫ ﻟَﻪُ اﻟْﻤُﻠْ ُﻚ َﻟَﻪُ اﻟْ َﺤ ْﻤ ُﺪ َ ُﻫ َﻮ ﻋَ ٰﲆ ُ ِﰻّ َﺷ ْﻰء ﻗَ ِﺪﻳ‬،ٗ‫ َﻻ إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ اﷲُ َ ْﺣ َﺪهٗ َﻻ َﺷ ِﻳْ َﻚ ﻟَﻪ‬his sins will bُ eَ‫ﻛْﺒ‬foَ‫أ‬rgُ iveَ ‫ا‬n even If these are as abundant as the foam of the sea. ِ‫اَﻟْ َﺤﻤْ ُﺪ ِﷲ‬ ِ‫ُﺳﺒ َﺤﺎنَ اﷲ‬ Allah is the greatest; All praises & thanks are due to Allah; Glorified is Allah; 49

‫ ﻟَﻪُ اﻟْﻤُﻠْ ُﻚ‬،ٗ‫َﻻ إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ اﷲُ َ ْﺣ َﺪهٗ َﻻ َﺷ ِﻳْ َﻚ ﻟَﻪ‬ the to Him there is no He is kingdom belongs to Him, partner alone, except Allah, there is no God (Muslim: 597) Ǥٌ ْ‫ َﻫُ َﻮ ﻋَ ٰﲆ ُ ِﰻّ َﺷ ْﻰ ٍء ﻗَ ِﺪﻳ‬،‫َﻟَﻪُ اﻟْ َﺤﻤْ ُﺪ‬ are all praises All-powerful. over every thing and He is and thanks are, and to Him  Hazrat Abdullah Bin Omer ‫ ﷜‬narrates, that I saw the Prophet ᤖ counting the Tasbeeh on fingers / with his right hand. (Abu Dawood: 1502, Sahih Al-Jami’ Al-Sagheer: 4989)  After every prayer recite the three Quls. (Abu Dawood: 1523)  Whoever recites Ayat Al-Kursi after every obligatory prayer, nothing will stop him entering the Paradise except his death. ُ َ‫ا‬ ُ‫َﻵ اِ ﻪَ اِﻻ ﻫُ َﻮ اﻟْ َﺤﻰ اﻟْﻘَﻴ ْﻮم‬ the Sustainer and the Ever-living but He there is no God Allah ‫ﻟَﻪٗ َﻣﺎ ﻓِﻰ اﻟﺴ ٰﻤ ٰ ِت‬Protector of all that exists, ٌ‫َﻻ َ ْﻮم‬ ٌ‫َﻻ َﺎْ ُﺧ ُﺬهٗ ِﺳﻨَﺔ‬ ‫َﻣَﺎ ﻓِﻰ ا ْﻻ َ ْ ِض َﻣﻦ ذَا اﻟ ِﺬ ْى ﻳَ ْﺸﻔَ ُﻊ ِﻋﻨ َﺪه‬whatever is in the heavens to Him belongs nor the sleep, Slumber Does not overtake Him ْ‫َﻣَﺎ َﺧﻠْﻔَﻬُﻢ‬with Him can intercede Who is he that ‫ﻣَﺎ‬ ُ‫ﻳَﻌْﻠَﻢ‬in the earth, ٖ‫ذْﻧِﻪ‬a‫ِﺈ‬nِd‫ﺑ‬whate‫ﻻ‬veِr‫ا‬is ْ‫ﺑَﻴْ َﻦ اَﻳْ ِﺪﻳْ ِﻬﻢ‬ within their with His permission. is behind them, and what ٖۤ‫ﻪ‬o‫ ِﻤ‬wْ‫ﻠ‬n‫ِﻋ‬han‫ْﻦ‬dsِ‫ﻣ‬ ‫َ َﻻ ُ ِﺤﻴْ ُﻄ ْنَ ﺑِ َﺸ ْﻰ ٍء‬that Heexcept َ ‫اِﻻ ﺑِ َﻤﺎ َﺷ‬ which is knows ‫اﻟﺴﻤٰ ٰ ِت َا ْﻻ َ ْ َض‬whatever He wills, except of His knowledge ُ‫َ ِﺳ َﻊ ﻛُ ْ ِﺳﻴﻪ‬anything and they will never encompass and the earth, the heavens His chair encompasses ‫اﻟْﻌَ ِﻈﻴْﻢُ ۝‬ ‫َﻫُ َﻮ اﻟْﻌَﻠِﻰ‬ ‫ِﺣﻔْ ُﻈﻬُﻤَﺎ‬ ٗ‫َ َﻻ َ ُ ْدُه‬ the Supreme. is the most High, and He their guarding; and tires Him not (Baqarah: 255, Silsilah Al-Ahadith As-Sahihah: 972) َ‫َﻻ إِ ﻪ‬  Recite 10 times after Fajr & Maghrib prayers: There is no God ،ٗ‫إِﻻ اﷲُ َ ْﺣ َﺪهٗ َﻻ َﺷ ِﻳْ َﻚ ﻟَﻪ‬ to Him, there is no partner He is Alone, except Allah, 50

،‫ﻟَﻪُ اﻟْﻤُﻠْ ُﻚ َﻟَﻪُ اﻟْ َﺤﻤْ ُﺪ‬ the kingdom to Him belongs .ٌ ْ‫ﻳُ ْﺤ ِﻰ َﻳُ ِﻤﻴْ ُﺖ َﻫُ َﻮ ﻋَ ٰﲆ ُ ِﰻّ َﺷ ْﻰ ٍء ﻗَ ِﺪﻳ‬are all praises and thanks are,and to Him (Tirmidhi: 3474) All-powerful. over every thing and He is and causes death He gives life  Recite this Du’a ‫ﺎ‬aً‫ﻤ‬ftْ‫ﻠ‬e‫ﻋ‬rِ Fajr praye‫ َﻚ‬r:ُ‫َﻠ‬ ‫أَ ْﺳ‬ َ‫ا‬ ،‫ﻧﺎﻓِﻌًﺎ‬ ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ .‫(ﻣﺘَﻘَﺒ ًﻼ‬which is) beneficial, the knowledge ‫َﻋَ َﻤ ًﻼ‬I ask You (for) Indeed I ‫ﻗًﺎ‬Oْ ِ Allah! ،‫َﻃﻴِّﺒًﺎ‬ ‫َور‬ ‫ َاﻧ ُﺼ ْﻧِ ْﻰ‬،‫(َ ِّب أ َ ِﻋﻨِ ْﻰ َ َﻻ ُﻌِ ْﻦ ﻋَﻠَﻰ‬Ibn Majah: 925) (which are) acceptable. and the deeds (which is) pure, and the provision and help me ْ ‫ َاﻣْ ُﻜ‬،‫َ َﻻ َﻨ ُﺼ ْ ﻋَﻠَﻰ‬against me, and do not support O My Rabb! Support me ‫ﻟِ ْﻰ‬ for me and plot against me, ،‫ﻋَﻠَﻰ‬and dْ o‫ُﻜ‬not‫ ْﻤ‬hَelp‫َ َﻻ‬ ،‫َﻳَ ِّﺴ ِﺮ اﻟْﻬُ ٰﺪى ﻟِ ْﻰ‬ ‫َاﻫْ ِﺪﻧِ ْﻰ‬ for me, the guidance and facilitate and guide me against me, and do not plot ،‫َاﻧ ُﺼ ْﻧِ ْﻰ ﻋَ ٰﲆ َﻣ ْﻦ ﺑَﻐٰ ﻋَﻠَﻰ‬ transgressed those who over and grant me victory ،‫ﻟَ َﻚ ذَﰷ ًا‬against me, ،‫َﺷﲀ ًا‬ ‫َ ِّب اﺟﻌَﻠْﻨِ ْﻰ ﻟَ َﻚ‬ ever-remembering, for You ever-grateful, for You Make me O My Rabb! ،‫ ﻟَ َﻚ ِﻣﻄ َاﻋًﺎ‬،‫ﻟَ َﻚ َﻫﺎﺑًﺎ‬ ،‫ﻟَ َﻚ ُﻣ ْﺨﺒِﺘًﺎ‬ for You for You ever-fearful, for You ،‫ َ ِّب ﺗَﻘَﺒﻞْ ﺗَ ْﺑَﺘِ ْﻰ‬،‫إِﻟَﻴْ َﻚ أَ اﻫًﺎ ﻣﻨِﻴْﺒًﺎ‬ever-humble, ever-obedient, my Oft-turning to You ،‫ َﺛَﺒِّ ْﺖ ُﺣﺠﺘِ ْﻰ‬،‫َأَ ِﺟﺐ َدﻋْ َﺗِ ْﻰ‬repentance, accept O my Rabb! (and) returning, ،‫َاﻏْ ِﺴﻞْ َﺣ ْﺑَﺘِ ْﻰ‬ my proof, and make firm my call, and answer my sins, and wash .‫ َا ْﺳﻠُﻞْ َﺳ ِﺨﻴْﻤَﺔَ َﺻﺪ ِ ْى‬،‫ َاﻫْ ِﺪ ﻗَﻠْﺒِ ْﻰ‬،‫َ َﺳ ِّﺪد ﻟِ َﺴﺎﻧِ ْﻰ‬ of my chest. the malice and remove my heart, and guide my tongue, and make firm (Tirmidhi: 3551) 51

،‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ أَﻋُ ْذُ ِ َﻚ ﻣِ ْﻦ ﻋَﻤَ ٍﻞ ﻳ ْﺨ ِﻳْﻨِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ ،‫إ ِﻧِ ْﻰ أ َﻋُ ْذُ ِ َﻚ ِﻣ ْﻦ ِﻏﻨًﻰ ﻳﻄﻐِﻴْﻨِ ْﻰ‬that will humiliate me, from the deed I seek refuge in You Indeed I O Allah! َ‫ا‬ that will make me ‫أَﻋُ ْذُ ِ َﻚ ِﻣﻦ َﺻﺎ ِﺣ ٍﺐ‬from the O Allah! rebellious, wealthiness I seek refuge in You Indeed I َ‫ا‬ ،‫ﻳ ْدِﻳْﻨِ ْﻰ‬ ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ who will destroy me, from a friend I seek refuge in You Indeed I O Allah! ،‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ أَﻋُ ْذُ ِ َﻚ ﻣِ ْﻦ أَ ْﻣ ٍﺮ ﻳﻠْ ِﻬﻴْﻨِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ that will make me Indeed I O Allah! .‫اَ إِﻧِ ْﻰ أَﻋُ ْذُ ِ َﻚ ِﻣﻦ ﻓَﻘ ٍﺮ ﻳﻨ ِﺴﻴْﻨِ ْﻰ‬unmindful, from the action I seek refuge in You (Musnad Abi Ya'ala: 4352) that will make me from poverty I seek refuge in Indeed I O Allah! forget You You Du’a to avoid whisperings in Salah or while reciting the Qur’an Uthman b. Abu al-'As reported that he came to Allah's Messenger ᤖ and said: Allah's Messenger, the Shaitan intervenes between me and my prayer and my reciting of the Qur'an and he confounds me. Thereupon Allah's Messenger ᤖ said: That is (the doing of a) Shaitan (devil) who is known as Khinzab, and when you perceive its effect, seek refuge with Allah from it and spit three times to your left. (Uthman b. Abu al-'As said) I did that and Allah dispelled thatُ‫ذ‬frْoُ‫ﻋ‬mَ ‫أ‬me. ،‫اﻟ ِﺟﻴْ ِﻢ‬ ‫ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟﺸﻴْ َﻄﺎ ِن‬ ِ‫ﺑِﺎﷲ‬ the outcast. from Shaitan in Allah I seek refuge (Muslim: 2203) Du’a when prostrating due to recitation of the Qur'an ٗ‫ َ َﺷﻖ َﺳﻤْﻌَﻪ‬،ٗ‫َﺳ َﺠ َﺪ َﺟ ِﻬ ْﻰ ﻟِﻠ ِﺬ ْى َﺧﻠَﻘَﻪ‬ and fashioned ،ٖ‫َﻗُ ﺗِﻪ‬it's hearing(by cutting it) created him, to the One who My face prostrated ٖ‫ﺑِ َﺤ ْﻟِﻪ‬ ٗ‫َﺑَ َﺼ َه‬ .a‫ َﻦ‬ndْ‫ﻘِ(ﻴ‬byِ‫ﺎ)ﻟ‬H‫ﺨ‬iَs pْ‫ﻟ‬ow‫ ا‬er, ‫أ َ ْﺣ َﺴ ُﻦ‬by His power ُ ‫اﷲ‬ and its v‫ﺎ‬isَ ‫ﺒ‬ioَ ‫ﺘ‬nَ ‫ﻓ‬ ‫َ َك‬ of the creators. the Best Allah, thus blessed is (Tirmidhi: 3425, Mustadrak Hakim: 802) 52

،‫ﺑِ َﻬﺎ ِﻋﻨ َﺪ َك أَﺟ ًا‬ ‫اَ ا ْﺘُﺐ ﻟِ ْﻰ‬ the reward, with You for this (sajdah) for me Write O Allah! ،‫وِزْ ًا‬ ‫ﺑِﻬَﺎ‬ ‫ﻋَﻨِ ْﻰ‬ ‫َ َﺿ ْﻊ‬ the burden (of sins), because of this from me and remove ‫ َﺗَﻘَﺒﻠْ َﻬﺎ ﻣِﻨِ ْﻰ‬،‫ذُ ْﺧ ًا‬ ‫َاﺟﻌَﻠْﻬَﺎ ﻟِ ْﻰ ِﻋﻨ َﺪ َك‬ from me and accept it a stored treasure with You for me and make it ‫ﻛَﻤَﺎ ﺗَﻘَﺒﻠْﺘَﻬَﺎ‬ Ǥَ‫ِﻣ ْﻦ ﻋَﺒ ِﺪ َك دَا ٗد‬ Dawood (AS). from Your slave You accepted it as (Tirmidhi: 3424, Mustadrak Hakim: 799) 53

Witr, Qunoot & Istikharah Du’a for the Witr Prayer ‫ﻓِﻴْﻤَ ْﻦ‬ ‫اَ اﻫْ ِﺪﻧِ ْﻰ‬ ‫ َﻋَﺎﻓِﻨِ ْﻰ‬،‫ﻫَ َﺪﻳْ َﺖ‬ and protect me You have guided, with those whom Guide me O Allah! ‫ َﺗَ َﻟﻨِ ْﻰ ﻓِﻴْ َﻤ ْﻦ‬،‫ﻓِﻴْ َﻤ ْﻦ ﻋَﺎﻓَﻴْ َﺖ‬ ‫َﻗِﻨِ ْﻰ َﺷ‬with those whom and،t‫ﺖ‬aَke cْ‫ﻴ‬a‫ﻄ‬rَe oْ‫ﻋ‬fَ ‫أ‬me‫ﻤَﺎ‬Yْ‫ﻴ‬oِ‫ﻓ‬u ‫َﺑَﺎ ِ ْك ﻟِ ْﻰ‬have protected, with those whom ،‫ﺗَ َﻟﻴْ َﺖ‬ from the evil and save me You have given, in what and bless me You took care, ،‫ إِﻧ َﻚ ﺗَﻘ ِﻀ ْﻰ َ َﻻ ُﻘ ٰﻀ ﻋَﻠَﻴْ َﻚ‬،‫َﻣﺎ ﻗَ َﻀﻴْ َﺖ‬ against You, and none can decree decree Indeed You (of) what You have decreed, ،(‫ ) َ َﻻ َﻌِﺰ َﻣ ْﻦ ﻋَﺎ َدﻳْ َﺖ‬،‫إِﻧﻪٗ َﻻ َ ِﺬل َﻣ ْﻦ اﻟَﻴْ َﺖ‬ whom You have and he is not whom You have is not Indeed he .‫َﺗَﻌَﺎﻟَﻴْ َﺖ‬shown enmity against, honored befriended, ‫ﺗَﺒَﺎ َ ْ َﺖ‬humiliated is ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ‬ and You are exalted / sublime. our Rabb You are blessed ،‫(إ ِﻧِ ْﻰ أ َﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ ِ َﺿﺎ َك ِﻣﻦ َﺳ َﺨ ِﻄ َﻚ‬Abu Dawood: 1425, Tirmidhi: 464, The words in brackets are of Baihaqi and Abu Dawood) َ‫ا‬ from Your Wrath, ُ‫َأ َﻋُ ْذ‬in Your pleasure I seek refuge Indeed I O Allah! ،‫َوﺑِﻤُﻌَﺎﻓَﺎﺗِ َﻚ ِﻣ ْﻦ ﻋُﻘُ ْﺑَﺘِ َﻚ‬ ،‫ﺑِ َﻚ ِﻣﻨ َﻚ‬ from You, in You ‫ َﺖ‬anْ‫ﻴ‬dَ‫ﻨ‬Iْs‫ﺛ‬eَ‫أ‬ek refuge ‫ أ َﻧ َﺖ‬،‫ً ﻋَﻠَﻴْ َﻚ‬from Your punishment, & in ‫َﻻ أ ُ ْﺣ ِﺼ ْﻰ‬Your forgiveness .‫َﻔْ ِﺴ َﻚ‬ ‫ﻋَ ٰﲆ‬ ‫ﻛَﻤَﺎ‬ ‫ﺛَﻨَﺎء‬ Yourself. You praised as You (are) Your praises, I can not (Abu Dawood: 1427) encompass Du’a after the Witr prayer ،‫اﻟْﻘُﺪ ْ ِس‬ ‫اﻟْ َﻤﻠِ ِﻚ‬ َ‫ُﺳﺒ َﺤﺎن‬ the most Holy, the King Glory be to Recite these words three times and third time raise the sound stretch the sound and read this also: ِ‫َب اﻟْ َﻤ َﻜﺔ‬ (Sunan Dar Qutni: 1644, Zaad Al-Ma'ad: .‫َاﻟ ْ ِح‬ the Rabb 1/337) and of the spirit (Gabriel). of the angels 54

Qunoot Nazilah:  \"NAZILAH\" means disaster, calamity, accident and suffering pain etc. When Muslim Ummah suffers in calamities, trapped in any war or encircled in the mob of disbelievers, it is advised to pray for salvation, victory, and help of Muslims and for the defeat and destruction of the disbelievers. In one such situation, the Prophet ᤖ has made Du’a for destruction of Rial, Zakwan & Mudhar communities & also made Du’a for the rescue / deliverance of the Companions by name who were trapped therein. The Prophet ᤖ made Du’a in all the 5 salahs and continued this practice for a month in support of the Sahaba and for destruction of disbelievers. Umar‫ ﻟَ﷜ﻨَﺎ‬:‫اﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ‬  Qunoot ‫ ُﻤ‬Nْ‫ﻟ‬a‫ا‬zَ ilah recited by H‫ ُﻤ‬aْ‫ﻠ‬zِ‫ﻟ‬rَat َ‫ا‬ ،‫ْﻣِﻨَﺎ ِت‬ ‫ْﻣِﻨِﻴْ َﻦ‬ a،nْ‫ﻢ‬d t‫ِﻬ‬heِ‫ﺑ‬b‫ﻮ‬eْ lُi‫ﻠ‬eُv‫ﻗ‬ing women, ‫َأ َﻟِّ ْﻒ‬and the believing m،e‫ت‬nِ ‫ﺴﻠِﻤَﺎ‬Fْ orُ‫ﻤ‬givْ‫ﻟ‬e‫ا‬uَ s ‫ﻠِ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ‬O‫ْﺴ‬All‫ُﻤ‬ahْ‫َا!ﻟ‬ ‫ﺑَﻴْ َﻦ‬ their hearts, in‫ َك‬bِّet‫ﺪ‬wُ eَ‫ﻋ‬en & put affection and Muslim women, ‫ َت‬a‫ا‬nَ‫ذ‬d Mu‫ﺢ‬sْ limِ‫ﻠ‬m‫ ْﺻ‬enَ‫َأ‬ ،ْ‫َﻋَ ُﺪ ِّﻫِﻢ‬ ‫ﻋَ ٰﲆ‬ ْ‫ْﻫُﻢ‬ ‫َاﻧ ُﺼ‬ ،ْ‫ﺑَﻴْﻨِ ِﻬﻢ‬ and their in between the enemy, them, affairs ‫اﻟْﻌَ ْﻦ ﻛَﻔَ َةَ أَﻫْ ِﻞ اﻟْ ِﻜﺘَﺎ ِب‬against Your ‫اﻟ ِﺬﻳْ َﻦ‬ enemy and help them and mend َ‫ا‬ ،‫ َﻳُ َﻜ ِّﺬﺑُ ْنَ ُ ُﺳﻠَ َﻚ‬،‫ﻳَ ُﺼﺪ ْنَ ﻋَﻦ َﺳﺒِﻴْﻠِ َﻚ‬those who of the people of Book on disbelievers send curse O Allah! ،ْ‫ﻢ‬Yo‫ﻬ‬uِ rِ‫ﺘ‬M‫ َﻤ‬esِ‫ﳇ‬sَenger‫ﻦ‬sَ , ْ‫َﺧﺎﻟِ ْﻒ ﺑَﻴ‬and deny (falsify) َ ‫ا‬from Y،o‫َك‬urَp‫ء‬a‫ﺎ‬thَ‫ﻴ‬,ِ‫أَ ْﻟ‬ َ‫ﻠُ ْن‬stِo‫ﺗ‬p‫َﻳُﻘَﺎ‬ ‫ َأ َﻧ ِلْ ﺑِ ِﻬﻢْ ﺑَﺄ ْ َﺳ َﻚ‬،ْ‫أ َﻗ َﺪاﻣَﻬُﻢ‬their words, between put contradiction O Allah! with Your friends, and they fight their feet, ْ‫َو َﻟْ ِل‬ Your punishment on them and send ٗ‫َﻻ َ ُده‬ and tumble ،‫ﻋَ ِﻦ اﻟْﻘَ ْﻮمِ اﻟْ ُﻤﺠ ِ ِﻣﻴْ َﻦ‬ ‫اﻟ ِﺬ ْى‬ the criminal people. away from the people You do not turn it that which ‫إِﻧﺎ‬ َ‫ ا‬،‫اﻟ ِﺣﻴْ ِﻢ‬ ‫اﻟ ْﺣﻤٰ ِﻦ‬ ِ‫ﺑِ ْﺴ ِﻢ اﷲ‬ Indeed we O Allah! the Most Merciful, the most beneficent In the name of Allah 55

‫َﻧُﺜْﻨِ ْﻰ ﻋَﻠَﻴْ َﻚ‬ ،‫ﻧَ ْﺴﺘَﻌِﻴْﻨُ َﻚ َﻧَ ْﺴﺘَﻐْﻔِ ُ َك‬ ،‫ َﻧَ ْﺨﻠَ ُﻊ َﻧَﺘْ ُ ُك ﻣَ ْﻦ ﻳﻔْ ُﺠ ُ َك‬،‫َ َﻻ َ ْﻜﻔُ ُ َك‬You and we praise and we seek Your forgiveness, we ask You for help disobeys You, the one who and we leave and we forsake and we are not ungrateful to You ‫ اَ إِﻳﺎ َك‬،‫ﺑِ ْﺴ ِﻢ اﷲِ اﻟ ْﺣ ٰﻤ ِﻦ اﻟ ِﺣﻴْ ِﻢ‬ You only O Allah! the Most Merciful, the most beneficent In the name of Allah ٰ‫ َوإِﻟَﻴْ َﻚ ﻧَ ْﺴﻌ‬،‫ َﻟَ َﻚ ﻧُ َﺼﻠِّ ْﻰ َﻧَ ْﺴ ُﺠ ُﺪ‬،‫ﻧَﻌْﺒُ ُﺪ‬ we run and towards You and we prostrate, we pray and to You we worship ‫ َﻧَ ْ ُﺟ ْﻮ‬،‫ َﻧَ ْﺨ ٰﺸ ﻋَ َﺬاﺑَ َﻚ اﻟْ ِﺠﺪ‬،‫َﻧَ ْﺤﻔِ ُﺪ‬ and we hope ‫إِن ﻋَ َﺬاﺑَ َﻚ ﺑِﺎﻟْ َﲀﻓِ ِﻳْ َﻦ ُﻣﻠْ ِﺤ ٌﻖ‬Ǥ (which is) severe Your punishment and we fear and we serve, (to receive) Your will strike the disbelievers Your punishment surely ،‫َ ْﺣ َﻤﺘَ َﻚ‬ mercy, (to receive) Your mercy, (Sunan Al-Kubra Lil Baihaqi: 210/2, Musannaf Abdur Razzak: 4969) Method of the Istikharah Prayer & Du’a Narrate Jabir Bin Abdullah ‫﷜‬: The Prophet ᤖ used to teach us the way of doing Istikharah (Istikharah means to ask Allah to guide one to the right sort of action concerning any job or a deed), in all matters as he taught us the Surahs of the Qur'an. He said, \"If anyone of you thinks of doing any job he should offer a two rak`ah prayer other than the compulsory ones and say (after the prayer): ‫أَ ْﺳﺘَ ِﺨﻴْ ُ َك‬ ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ ،‫ﺑِﻌِﻠْ ِﻤ َﻚ‬ th،ro‫ ِﻢ‬uْ‫ﻴ‬gh‫ ِﻈ‬Yoَ‫ﻌ‬uْ‫ﻟ‬r ‫ا‬kno‫ َﻚ‬wleِ‫ﻠ‬dg‫ْﻀ‬e, َ‫ ﻣِﻦ ﻓ‬I ‫َﻠُ َﻚ‬consult Y‫ ْﺳ‬ouَ‫ َأ‬،‫ﺑِﻘُﺪ َﺗِ َﻚ‬Indeed I ‫ﻘ ِﺪ ُ َك‬Oَ‫ﺘ‬A‫ ْﺳ‬llaَ‫أ‬hَ ! through and I seek from Your great bounties, and I ask You ،ُYo‫ِﺪ‬ur‫ﻗ‬Pَ ‫أ‬ow‫ﻻ‬eَ r,َ ُ strength from‫َﻚ‬You‫ﻓَ ِﺈﻧ‬ ُ‫ َأَﻧ َﺖ ﻋَﻼم‬،ُ‫أَﻋْﻠَﻢ‬ ‫َﺗَﻌْﻠَﻢُ َ َﻻ‬ ‫ﺗَﻘ ِﺪ‬ َ ‫ا ْﻷ َ ْﻣ‬All-knowerand You and I do not and You and I do not are capable for Indeed are ‫ َﺬا‬kٰ‫ﻫ‬now,‫أَن‬ ُ‫ ا َ إ ِن ُﻨ َﺖ ﺗَﻌْﻠَﻢ‬،‫اﻟْﻐُﻴُ ْ ِب‬know all have power, ( is having power) You alone task (*mention the this that know If You O Allah! of the hidden name) things, 56

،‫َﺧﻴْ ٌ ﻟِ ْﻰ ﻓِ ْﻰ دِﻳْﻨِ ْﻰ َ َﻣﻌَﺎ ِﺷ ْﻰ َﻋَﺎﻗِﺒَﺔِ أَﻣْ ِ ْى‬ and in and in my in (respect of) my of my affairs, for me is better ‫ ﺛُﻢ‬،‫ﻟِ ْﻰ‬consequence livelihood religion ‫ﺑَﺎ ِ ْك‬ ُ‫ﻓَﺎﻗ ُﺪ ْه‬ ُ‫ﻟِ ْﻰ َﻳَ ِّﺴ ْه‬ bleَss‫ ْﻣ‬itَ ‫ا ْﻷ‬ and ‫ﻫٰ َﺬا‬for m‫ن‬e, َ ‫أ‬ aُ‫ﻢ‬ndَ‫ﻠ‬mْ‫ﻌ‬aَ‫ﺗ‬ke it ea‫ﺖ‬sَ y ‫ُﻨ‬ for me then ordain it task (*mention the ‫َوإِن‬ ،ِ‫ﻟِ ْﻰ ﻓِﻴْﻪ‬ ،‫َ َﻣﻌَﺎ ِﺷ ْﻰ َﻋَﺎﻗِﺒَﺔِ أَ ْﻣ ِ ْى‬name of task)this thatknow but if You in it, for me and in ‫َﺷ ﻟِّ ْﻰ ﻓِ ْﻰ دِﻳْﻨِ ْﻰ‬ and in my in (respect of) my of my affairs for me is bad consequence ‫ِﻓ ْﻨِ ْﻰ‬livelihood ‫َا ْﺻ‬ religion ‫ﻟِ َﻰ‬ ُ‫ﻓَﺎ ْﺻ ِﻓْﻪ‬ ْ ‫ﻋَﻨْﻪُ َاﻗ ُﺪ‬ ‫ﻋَﻨِ ْﻰ‬ for me .ٖ‫ ﺛُﻢ أ َ ْ ِﺿﻨِ ْﻰ ﺑِﻪ‬،َ‫ &اﻟْ َﺨﻴْ َ َﺣﻴْ ُﺚ َﰷن‬ordain from it & turn  me away   from me then turn it away (Bukhari: 38) with it. make me and whatever it may the good contended be,  Consultation with well wishers: Whoever seeks Istikharah (seek guidance) from Allah  and consults with righteous people and then completes the task firmly, he will not regret for anything. Allah  says: ِ‫َ َﺷﺎوِ ْﻫُﻢْ ﻓِﻰ ا ْﻻَ ْﻣ ِﺮ ﻓَ ِﺈذَا ﻋَ َ ْﻣ َﺖ ﻓَﺘَ َﻮ ْ ﻋَﻠَﻰ اﷲ‬ then put You and in (important) and consult with in Allah trust decided (it) when matters, them (Surah Aal-e-Imran: 159) 57

Du’as for Fasting & Breaking the Fast Du’a on seeing New Moon of the month َ‫ ا‬،ُ َ‫اَ ُ أَﻛْﺒ‬ ،‫أَﻫِﻠﻪٗ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻨَﺎ ﺑِﺎ ْﻷَ ْﻣ ِﻦ َا ْ ِﻹﻳْ َﻤﺎ ِن‬ ‫ َاﻟﺘ ْﻓِﻴْ ِﻖ ﻟِﻤَﺎ ُ ِﺤﺐ‬،ِ‫َاﻟﺴ َﻼﻣَﺔِ َا ْ ِﻹ ْﺳ َﻼم‬and (with) belief, with tranquility upon us You rise it O Allah! Allah is the Greatest; what You like and (with) the allowances of and (with) Islam, and (with) peace .ُ‫ َﺑﻨَﺎ َو َﺑ َﻚ اﷲ‬، ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ َﻳَ ْ ٰﺿ‬ (Sunan Darmi: 1643) is Allah. and Your Our Rabb and (with which) You please. O our Rabb Rabb Du’a while breaking the fast Break the fast by saying: ِ‫\" ﺑِ ْﺴ ِﻢ اﷲ‬In the name of Allah.\" Du’a after breaking the Fast .ُ ‫ذَﻫَ َﺐ اﻟﻈﻤَﺄُ َاﺑﺘَﻠ ِﺖ اﻟْﻌُ ُ ْ ُق َﺛَﺒَ َﺖ ا ْﻷَﺟ ُ إِن َﺷﺎءَ ا‬ and the reward and the veins The thirst and the veins The thirst if Allah wills. became sure became wet has gone became wet has gone (Abu Dawood: 2357) ‫أَ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ‬ ‫اَ إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ ‫ﺑِ َ ْﺣﻤَﺘِ َﻚ‬ .‫ ْﻰ‬oِf‫ﻟ‬Yoَurِ‫ﻔ‬Mْ‫ﻐ‬eَ rcy‫أَن‬ ‫ﺷ ْﻰ ٍء‬Iَ ask‫ﰻ‬Yoُ u Indeed I O Allah! ‫َ ِﺳﻌَ ْﺖ‬ ‫اﻟﺘِ ْﻰ‬ that You forgive me. every thing encompasses which Note: Hazrat Abdullah Bin Omer ‫ ﷟‬used to recite the above supplication. (Ibn Majah: 1753, Al-Adhkar lin-Nawawy: 238) Du’a for the one who arranges food for breaking the fast َ‫ َأ َ َﰻ‬،َ‫ِﻋﻨ َﺪ ُﻢُ اﻟﺼﺎ ِ ُﻤ ْن‬The Prophet ᤖ recited the following Du’a after eating at the house of Sa’d ibn Ubaydah. َ ‫أَﻓْ َﻄ‬ .ُ‫َﻜﺔ‬ a‫ َﻤ‬ndْ‫ﻟ‬e‫ا‬atُ‫ﻋَﻠَﻴْ ُﻜﻢ‬ the fasting people. with yo‫ﺑ‬uَ ‫ا ْﻷ‬ ُ‫َﻃﻌَﺎ َﻣ ُﻜﻢ‬May break the fast ‫َ َﺻﻠ ْﺖ‬ ،ُ ‫َا‬ the angels. upon you and may send blessing the righteous people, (from) your food (Abu Dawood: 3854) Du’a in Laylatul Qadar (The Night of Power) ‫ ﺗُ ِﺤﺐ اﻟْﻌَﻔْ َﻮ ﻓَﺎﻋْ ُﻒ ﻋَﻨِﻰ‬،‫اَ إِﻧ َﻚ ﻋَﻔْﻮ‬ me (too). So forgive to forgive, You love Oft-forgiving, Indeed You are O Allah! (Tirmidhi: 205, Ibn Majah: 3850) 58

Du’as of Hajj & Umrah (Pilgrimage) Reciting Talbiyah (‫ )ﻟَﺒﻴْ َﻚ‬while putting on Ihraam َ‫ﻟَﺒﻴْ َﻚ ا‬ ،‫ ﻟَﺒﻴْ َﻚ َﻻ َﺷ ِﻳْ َﻚ ﻟَ َﻚ ﻟَﺒﻴْ َﻚ‬،‫ﻟَﺒﻴْ َﻚ‬ Here I am at Here I am at there is no Here I am at Here I am at Your service Your service, to You partner Your service, Your service, O Allah! .‫َﻻ َﺷ ِﻳْ َﻚ ﻟَ َﻚ‬ ،‫َاﻟْﻤُﻠْ َﻚ‬ ‫إِن اﻟْ َﺤ ْﻤ َﺪ َاﻟﻨِﻌْ َﻤﺔَ ﻟَ َﻚ‬ to You. there is and the (are) due and bounties all praise verily no partner Sovereignty (too), to You (Bukhari: 1549) Saying \"ُ َ‫ \"ا َ ُ أَﻛْﺒ‬near Al-Hajr Al-Aswad (Black Stone)  The Prophet ᤖ performed Tawaf of the Ka`ba riding a camel, and every time he came in front of the Corner (having the Black Stone), he pointed towards it with something he had with him and said Takbir. \"ُ َ‫\"ا َ ُ أَﻛْﺒ‬. (Bukhari: 1613) Between Ar-Rukn Al-Yamani & and Al-Hajr Al-Aswad  Prophet Muhammad ᤖ used to recite this Du’a in between Ar-Rukn Al-Yamani and Al-Hajr Al-Aswad: ‫ﺗِﻨَﺎ‬ ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ‬ ً‫ﻓِﻰ اﻟﺪﻧْﻴَﺎ َﺣ َﺴﻨَﺔ‬ good in the world Grant us O Our Rabb! ‫ﻗِﻨَﺎ ﻋَ َﺬا َب اﻟﻨﺎرِ۝‬ (Abu Dawood: 1892) from the torment of fire. and save us ً‫َﺣ َﺴﻨَﺔ‬ ِ‫ﻓِﻰ ا ْ ِﺧ َة‬ good and in the hereafter On Safa & Marwah  When the Prophet ᤖ came near the Safa he said: ‫إِن‬ ،ِ‫اﻟﺼﻔَﺎ َاﻟْ َﻤ ْ َةَ ﻣِﻦ َﺷﻌَ ِ ِﺮ اﷲ‬ of Allah. are among the symbols and Marwah ُ ‫أ َﺑ َﺪأ‬Safa Verily Ǥٖ‫ﺑِﻤَﺎ َ َﺪءَ ا ُ ﺑِﻪ‬ with [it]. with what Allah began I begin After that, he kept climbing it till he saw Baitullah. He turned his face towards Qiblah and said these words: ‫ ﻟَﻪُ اﻟْ ُﻤﻠْ ُﻚ‬،ٗ‫َﻻ إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ اﷲُ َ ْﺣ َﺪهٗ َﻻ َﺷ ِﻳْ َﻚ ﻟَﻪ‬ the to Him there is no He is kingdom belongs to Him, partner alone, but Allah, There is no God 59

.ٌ ْ‫َﻫُ َﻮ ﻋَ ٰﲆ ُ ِﰻّ َﺷ ْﻰ ٍء ﻗَ ِﺪﻳ‬ ،‫اﻟْ َﺤ ْﻤ ُﺪ‬ ُ‫َﻟَﻪ‬ All-Powerful, ‫أ َﻧ َﺠ َﺰ‬over every thing ،ٗ‫َﻻ إ ِ ﻪَ إ ِﻻ اﷲ ُ َ ْﺣ َﺪه‬and He is are all praises and thanks are, and to Him ،ٗ‫َﻋْ َﺪه‬ His promise, He‫ب‬fَulfi‫ا‬llَed‫ا ْﻷ َ ْﺣ‬ He is alone, but Allah, There is no God ،ٗ‫َﻧَ َﺼ َ ﻋَﺒ َﺪه‬ .ٗ‫َ ْﺣ َﺪه‬ َ‫َﻫَ َﺰم‬ single-handedly the allies (non believers) and defeated His slave, and helped (Muslim: 1218). On the Day of Arafah (9th Dhul-Hajj)  Prophet Muhammad ᤖ said: The best of supplication is the supplication of the Day of `Arafah. And the best of what I and the Prophets before me have said is: ‫ ﻟَﻪُ اﻟْﻤُﻠْ ُﻚ‬،ٗ‫َﻻ إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ اﷲُ َ ْﺣ َﺪهٗ َﻻ َﺷ ِﻳْ َﻚ ﻟَﻪ‬ to Him there is no belongs partner the He is alone, .ٌ ْ‫ َﻫُ َﻮ ﻋَ ٰﲆ ُ ِﰻّ َﺷ ْﻰ ٍء ﻗَ ِﺪﻳ‬،‫َﻟَﻪُ اﻟْ َﺤﻤْ ُﺪ‬kingdom to Him, but Allah, There is no God All-powerful. over every thing and He is are all praises and and to Him thanks are, َ‫ا‬ ،‫(ﺗَ ٰى ﻣَ َﲀﻧِ ْﻰ َﺗَ ْﺴ َﻤ ُﻊ َ ِﻣ ْﻰ‬Tirmidhi: 3585, Silsilah Al-Ahadith As-Sahihah: 1503) ‫إِﻧ َﻚ‬ my ْ‫أ َﻣ‬talk, and You do listen to my place ‫َﻻ‬ do see indeed You O Allah! ،‫ِﺳ ِّ ْى َﻋَ َﻼﻧِﻴَﺘِ ْﻰ‬ ،‫ِ ْى‬ ‫ﻋَﻠَﻴْ َﻚ َﺷ ْﻰءٌ ﻣِّ ْﻦ‬ ٰ‫َ ْﺨﻔ‬ ُ‫َﺗَﻌْﻠَﻢ‬ of my affair, anything upon You Not hidden and my manifest / my hidden and You open (affairs), (secrets) know ،‫ اَﻟْ َ ِﺟﻞُ اﻟْ ُﻤ ْﺸﻔِ ُﻖ‬،ُ ْ‫ اَﻟْﻤُ ْﺴﺘَﻐِﻴْ ُﺚ اﻟْﻤُ ْﺴﺘَ ِﺠﻴ‬،ُ ْ‫أَﻧَﺎ اﻟْﺒَﺎ ِ ُﺲ اﻟْﻔَﻘِﻴ‬ ُ‫ﻞ‬sc‫ِﻬ‬arَ‫ﺘ‬e‫ﺑ‬dَ,‫أ‬tَ rembl،in‫ ِﻦ‬g,ْ‫ ِﻤ ْﺴ ِﻜﻴ‬aْn‫ﻟ‬sd‫ا‬hseelَt‫ﺔ‬eekَ‫ﻟ‬riَ,n‫ﺄ‬g‫ﻣَ ْﺴ‬ and I pray seeking help Poor (needy), I am wretched humbly / beseech ‫ أَ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ‬،ٖ‫اَﻟْ ُﻤﻘِ اﻟْﻤُﻌْﺘَ ِ ُف ﺑِ َﺬﻧْﺒِﻪ‬ (like) the one who one who question of admits accepts a poor ‫ َأَدﻋُ ْ َك‬،‫اﻟﺬﻟِﻴْ ِﻞ‬beggar, I ask You His sins, ‫اِﺑﺘِﻬَﺎ‬ ‫إِﻟَﻴْ َﻚ‬ ‫ُدﻋَﺎءَ اﻟْ َﺨﺎ ِ ِﻒ‬ ‫اﻟْﻤُ ْﺬﻧِ ِﺐ‬ َ a frightened (like) the call and I call upon to You of a submissive as invocation to You of You sinner, ،ٗ‫ َذَل َﺟ َﺴ ُﺪه‬،ٗ‫ ﻣَ ْﻦ َﺧ َﻀﻌَ ْﺖ ﻟَ َﻚ َﻗَﺒَﺘُﻪ‬،‫اﻟﻀ ِﻳْ ِﺮ‬ his body, and humbled his neck, for You the one who lowered blind (person), 60

‫ َو ُ ْﻦ ﺑِ ْﻰ‬،‫ اَ َﻻ َﺠﻌَﻠْﻨِ ْﻰ ﺑِ ُﺪﻋَﺎ ِ َﻚ َﺷﻘِﻴﺎ‬،ٗ‫َو َ ِﻏﻢَ أَﻧﻔُﻪ‬ with me and unblessed, after calling Make me not O Allah! his & humbled be You nose, into dust .‫ َﻳَﺎ َﺧﻴْ َ اﻟْﻤُﻌْ ِﻄﻴْ َﻦ‬،‫ﻳَﺎ َﺧﻴْ َ اﻟْﻤَ ْﺴ ُ ْﻟِﻴْ َﻦ‬،‫َءُ ْﻓًﺎ ِﺣﻴْ ًﻤﺎ‬ the Best among the givers. and the Best among those who are O Merciful, compassionate, O asked (Al-Mu’jam As-Sagheer: 697) Invocations near Al-Mash’ar Al-Haraam (Muzdalifah)  Prophet Muhammad ᤖ rode on Qaswa (a female camel) and when reached to Al-Mash’ar Al-Haraam (Muzdalifah) he turned his face towards Qiblah and prayed to Allah, did Takbir (ُ َ‫)اَ ُ أَﻛْﺒ‬, Tahleel (ُ‫) َﻻ إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ اﷲ‬, and proclaimed the oneness of Allah. Before sunrise he proceeded to Mina. (Muslim: 1218) Takbiraat (Saying Allahu Akbar) at Rami Jamraat  The Messenger of Allah ᤖ when used to throw pebbles on all the three Jamraat, He used to recite \"ُ َ‫ \"اَ ُ أَﻛْﺒ‬then move forward and make Du’a after stoning 1st and 2nd Jamraat. However, when throwing stones at last Jamrah he used to say \"ُ َ‫ \"اَ ُ أَﻛْﺒ‬with every pebble and then leave without staying there. (Bukhari: 1753, Muslim: 1296) Du’a while slaughtering the sacrificial animals ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ ‫َﺟﻬْ ُﺖ َﺟ ِﻬ َﻰ ﻟِﻠ ِﺬ ْى ﻓَ َﻄ َ اﻟﺴﻤٰ ٰ ِت‬ the heavens ‫ َﻦ‬cِ‫ﻣ‬reated‫أَﻧَﺎ‬ to the one Who my face have turned ،‫َض‬Indْeَe‫ﻷ‬dْ I‫َا‬ ‫اﻟْﻤُ ْﺸ ِﺮ ِﻴْ َﻦ‬ ‫َﻣَﺎ‬ ،‫َﺣﻨِﻴْﻔًﺎ‬ َ‫إِﺑ ٰﻫٖﻢ‬ ِ‫ﻋَ ٰﲆ ﻣِﻠﺔ‬ among the polytheists (who and I am not upright, of Ibrahim on the religion and the earth, associate partner to Allah). (AS), ِ‫إِن َﺻ َﻼﺗِ ْﻰ َﻧُ ُﺴ ِﻜ ْﻰ َﻣَ ْﺤﻴَﺎ َى َ َﻣﻤَﺎﺗِ ْﻰ ِﷲ‬ ‫ َﻻ َﺷ ِﻳْ َﻚ ﻟَﻪٗ َوﺑِ ٰﺬﻟِ َﻚ أ ُ ِﻣ ْ ُت‬،‫َ ِّب اﻟْﻌٰﻠَ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ‬is for Allah, and my dying and my living and my sacrifice my prayer (Salah) certainly ،‫ ا َ ﻣِﻨ َﻚ َﻟَ َﻚ‬،‫َوأ َﻧَﺎ ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟْ ُﻤ ْﺴﻠِ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ‬I am commanded and of this to Him, there is no partner of the worlds, the Rabb and for You only, (This is) from You O Allah! from among Muslims, and I am 61

Ǥُ َ‫ ﺑِ ْﺴ ِﻢ اﷲِ َا ُ أَﻛْﺒ‬،ٖ‫ﻋَ ْﻦ ﻣُ َﺤﻤ ٍﺪ أُﻣﺘِﻪ‬ and Allah is the greatest. In the name of Allah and from his Ummah. from Muhammad ᤖ (Abu Dawood: 2795) Say your name and your family name or the name of the person from whom this sacrifice is being made in place of (ٖ‫ )ﻋَ ْﻦ ﻣ َﺤﻤ ٍﺪ أُﻣﺘِﻪ‬as mentioned in the above Du’a. Du’a for slaughtering common animals ِ‫ﺑِ ْﺴ ِﻢ اﷲ‬ (‫َا ُ أَﻛْﺒَ ُ )اَ ﻣِﻨ َﻚ َﻟَ َﻚ‬ and for You only It is from You O Allah! and Allah is the greatest. In the name of Allah Ǥ‫ِﻣﻨِ ْﻰ‬ ْ‫اَ ﺗَﻘَﺒﻞ‬ from me. accept it O Allah! (Muslim: 1966, 1967, As Sunan Al-Kubra Lil Baihaqi: 287/9, The words in bracket are from Baihaqi and the last sentence is taken from Muslim.) 62

Du’as for Rain The Istisqua Prayer (Asking Allah for rain)  Whenever Prophet Muhammad ᤖ prayed to Allah  for rain, he prayed with humility. The Messenger of Allah ᤖ made supplications for rain in three different ways: B ISTESQUA PRAYER: He ordered people to assemble in open space or desert. He performed two rak’ah salah, delivered a sermon, and then prayed to Allah for rain. (Abu Dawood: 1173) C IN FRIDAY SERMON: If someone complained about the scarcity of rain, he prayed for rain from the pulpit (Mimbar) of Jumu’ah itself. (Sunan Nasa'i: 1515) D IN NORMAL TIMES: If someone complained about the scarcity of rain, he prayed for the rain right there. (Ibn Majah: 1269, 1270) Du’a for rain and protection from famine َ‫ ا‬،‫ا ْﺳﻘِﻨَﺎ‬ َ‫ا‬ Ǥ‫ اَ ا ْﺳﻘِﻨَﺎ‬،‫ا ْﺳﻘِﻨَﺎ‬ (Bukhari: 1013) GivǤe‫ﻨَﺎ‬uْs‫ﺜ‬r‫ِﻏ‬aiَn‫أ‬. َ ‫ ا‬،‫ ا َ أ َ ِﻏﺜ ْﻨَﺎ‬،‫ا َ أ َ ِﻏﺜ ْﻨَﺎ‬O Allah! Give us rain, O Allah! Give us rain, O Allah! (Bukhari: 1014) Bless us O Allah! Bless us O Allah! Bless us O Allah! with rain. with rain, with rain, ‫َﻣ ِﻳْﺌًﺎ‬ َ‫ا‬ ،‫ﻣﻐِﻴْﺜًﺎ‬ ‫ﻏَﻴْﺜًﺎ‬ ‫ا ْﺳﻘِﻨَﺎ‬ pleasing (that) replenishes us, (such) a rain Give us rain, O Allah! ‫ ﻧَﺎﻓِﻌًﺎ‬،‫ﻣ ِﻳْﻌًﺎ‬ Ǥ‫ ﻋَﺎ ِﺟ ًﻼ ﻏَﻴْ َ ِﺟ ٍﻞ‬،ٍّ‫ﻏَﻴْ َ َﺿﺎر‬ benefitting not later. sooner, not harmful, productive, (Abu Dawood: 1169) ‫ا ْﺳ ِﻖ‬ ‫ِﻋﺒَﺎ َد َك‬ َ‫ا‬ ،‫َﺑَ َﻬﺎ ِ َﻤ َﻚ‬ and to Your cattle, to Your slaves ‫ ْﺣ ِﻰ‬Pَ‫أ‬rَovide،w‫َﻚ‬ateَr‫ْﺣ َﻤﺘ‬ O Allah! Ǥ‫ﺑَﻠَ َﺪ َك اﻟْ َﻤﻴِّ َﺖ‬ ْ ‫َاﻧ ُﺸ‬ (Abu Dawood: 1176) (which is) dead. to Your and give life Your mercy, and spread city ‫ﻣَ ِﻳْﻌًﺎ‬ ،‫ﻣ ِﻳْﺌًﺎ‬ ‫ا ْﺳﻘِﻨَﺎ ﻏَﻴْﺜًﺎ‬ َ‫ا‬ productive, pleasing, (such) a rain Give us rain O Allah! 63

Ǥٍّ‫ ﻧَﺎﻓِﻌًﺎ ﻏَﻴْ َ َﺿﺎر‬،‫ ﻋَﺎ ِﺟ ًﻼ ﻏَﻴْ َ َا ِ ٍﺚ‬،‫َﻃﺒَﻘًﺎ‬ (Ibn Majah: 1269) not harmful. beneficial, not a delayed one, sooner, inclining (towards land), ‫ َﻣ ِﻳْﺌًﺎ‬،‫ا ْﺳﻘِﻨَﺎ ﻏَﻴْﺜًﺎ ﻣﻐِﻴْﺜًﺎ‬ َ‫ا‬ pleasing, which replenishes us, (such) a rain Give us rain O Allah! Ǥ‫ ﻋَﺎ ِﺟ ًﻼ ﻏَﻴْ َ َا ِ ٍﺚ‬،‫َﻣ ِﻳْﻌًﺎ ﻏَ َﺪﻗًﺎ‬ ،‫َﻃﺒَﻘًﺎ‬ (Ibn Majah: 1270) not a delayed one sooner, of big drops, productive, inclining (towards land), ،‫ اَﻟ ْﺣﻤٰ ِﻦ اﻟ ِﺣﻴْ ِﻢ‬،‫َ ِّب اﻟْﻌٰﻠَ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ‬ ِ‫اَﻟْ َﺤﻤْ ُﺪ ِﷲ‬ Most Merciful, Most the worlds, the Rabb of (are) due All praises & thanks Magnificent to Allah, ،‫ َﻻ إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ اﷲُ ﻳَﻔْﻌَﻞُ ﻣَﺎ ُ ِﻳْ ُﺪ‬،‫ﻣٰﻠِ ِﻚ ﻳَ ْﻮمِ اﻟ ِّﺪﻳْ ِﻦ‬ ‫ا َ أ َﻧ َﺖ ا ُ َﻻ إ ِ ﻪَ إ ِﻻ أ َﻧ َﺖ اﻟْﻐَﻨِﻰ‬what He wills. He does but Allah. There is no God of judgment. of the Day Master there is no God You are Allah, O Allah! ‫ أَﻧ ِلْ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻨَﺎ اﻟْﻐَﻴْ َﺚ‬،ُ‫(َوﻧَ ْﺤ ُﻦ اﻟْﻔُﻘَ َاء‬You are) Self- sufficient except You, the rain on us Send t‫ﺎ‬hَ‫ﻨ‬eَ‫ﻟ‬need‫ﺖ‬yَ (poْ‫ﻟ‬oَ r)‫ﻧ‬. َ ‫أ‬ and we are Ǥ‫إِ ٰﱃ ِﺣﻴْ ٍﻦ‬ ‫ﺑَ َﻼﻏًﺎ‬ ً‫ﻗُ ة‬ ‫َواﺟﻌَﻞْ ﻣَﺎ‬ for a period of time and satisfaction the strength for us what You send and make (Abu Dawood: 1173) Du’a at the time of storm ُ‫أَﻋُ ْذ‬ ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ .‫ﺑِ َﻚ ﻣِﻦ َﺷ ِّﻫَﺎ‬ ‫(أ َ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ َﺧﻴْ َﻫَﺎ َ َﺧﻴْ َ ﻣَﺎ ﻓِﻴْ َﻬﺎ‬Abu Dawood: 5099) from the evil of it. in You I seek refuge Indeed I O Allah! ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ ‫َأ َﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ ﻣِﻦ َﺷ ِّﻫَﺎ‬what is in it and the good of good of it I beg You ُ Indeed I O Allah! ،ٖ‫ﺑِﻪ‬ ‫ْ ِﺳﻠَ ْﺖ‬ ‫ﻣَﺎ أ‬ َ ْ‫َ َﺧﻴ‬ from the evil of it in You and I seek refuge with it, what is sent and the good of ٖ‫َ َﺷ ِّﺮ َﻣﺎ أُ ْ ِﺳﻠَ ْﺖ ﺑِﻪ‬Ǥ ‫َ َﺷ ِّﺮ َﻣﺎ ﻓِﻴْ َﻬﺎ‬ (Muslim: 899) with it. what is sent and the evil of what is in it and the evil 64

A’ishah, wife of the prophet (May peace be upon him), said: I never saw Allah's Messenger ᤖ laughing loudly enough to enable me to see his uvula, but he used to smile only. And whenever he saw clouds or winds, signs of deep concern would appear on his face. I said, \"O Allah's Messenger ᤖ ! When people see clouds they usually feel happy, hoping that it would rain, while I see that when you see clouds, one could notice signs of dissatisfaction on your face.\" He said, \"O `Aisha! What is the guarantee for me that there will be no punishment in it, since some people were punished with a wind? Verily, some people saw (received) the punishment, but (while seeing the cloud) they said, 'This cloud will give us rain.' \" (Abu Dawood: 5098) Du’a at the time of thunder & lightening  When Hazrat Abdullah Bin Zubair ‫ ﷜‬heard lightening and thunder of clouds, he gave up talking & recited this Du’a: َ‫ُﺳﺒ َﺤﺎن‬ ‫ﻳُ َﺴﺒِّ ُﺢ اﻟ ﻋْ ُﺪ‬ ‫اﻟ ِﺬ ْى‬ the thunder glorifies ُ‫ﺑِ َﺤ ِﻤ ِﺪهٖ َاﻟْﻤَ َﻜﺔ‬the one (for) who Glorified is .ٖ‫ﻣِ ْﻦ ِﺧﻴْﻔَﺘِﻪ‬ (Muwatta Malik: 3641) from His fear. and angels (glorify & praise Him) with His praises; Du’a on seeing the rain ‫َﺻﻴِّﺒًﺎ‬ َ‫ا‬ Ǥ‫ﻧﺎﻓِﻌًﺎ‬ (Bukhari: 1032) beneficial. (Make) this rain O Allah! Du’a after rains ِ‫ﺑِﻔَ ْﻀ ِﻞ اﷲ‬ ‫ُﻣ ِﻄ ْﻧَﺎ‬ Ǥٖ‫َو َ ْﺣﻤَﺘِﻪ‬ with Allah’s Blessings We have been given rain and by His Mercy. (Bukhari: 846) Du’a for the loss caused by rain ‫َﺣ َاﻟَﻴْﻨَﺎ‬ َ‫ا‬ ِ‫ اَ ﻋَﻠَﻰ ا ْ َﰷم‬،‫َ َﻻ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻨَﺎ‬ (Send rain) in our surroundings (Send it) on hillocks O Allah! and not on us O Allah! Ǥ‫ا ْﻷَ ْدِﻳَﺔِ َﻣَﻨَﺎﺑِ ِﺖ اﻟﺸ َﺠ ِﺮ‬ ‫ َﺑُ ُﻄ ْ ِن‬،‫َاﻟ ِّﻈ َا ِب‬ trees. and (on) the places of the valleys and in the bottom of and on mountains, growth of (Bukhari: 1014) 65

Du’as at the time of sleeping & waking Du’as at the time of sleeping  Recite Surah As-Sajdah and Surah Al-Mulk. (Tirmidhi: 3404)  Narrated 'Aisha: Whenever the Prophet ᤖ went to bed every night, he used to cup his hands together and blow over it after reciting Surat Al-Ikhlas, Surat Al-Falaq and Surat An-Naas, and then rub his hands over whatever parts of his body he was able to rub, starting with his head, face and front of his body. He used to do that three times. (Bukhari: 5017)  Prophet Muhammad ᤖ said, \"When you go to your bed, recite Ayat-al-Kursi, (2.255) for then there will be a guard from Allah who will protect you all night long, and Shaitan will not be able to come near you till dawn. (Bukhari: 5010)  Prophet Muhammad ᤖ said, \" If somebody recited the last two Verses of Surat Al-Baqarah at night, that will be sufficient for him.” (Bukhari: 5009) َ‫ﻣَ َﻦ اﻟ ُﺳ ْلُ ﺑِ َﻤﺂ اُﻧ ِلَ اِﻟَﻴْﻪِ ِﻣ ْﻦ ﺑِّﻪٖ َاﻟْ ُﻤ ْ ِﻣﻨُ ْن‬ and the believers (also was The Messenger believed). from his Rabb to Him revealed in what believed ٖ‫َو ُ ُﺳﻠِﻪ‬ ٖ‫َو ُﺘُﺒِﻪ‬ ٖ‫ُﰻ َﻣ َﻦ ﺑِﺎﷲِ َ َﻣﻠ َﻜﺘِﻪ‬ and His messengers. and His books and His angels in Allah believed All ‫َﻻ ُﻔَ ِّ ُق ﺑَﻴْ َﻦ اَ َﺣ ٍﺪ ﻣِ ْﻦ ُﺳﻠِﻪٖ َﻗَﺎﻟُ ْا‬ and they say, of His messengers any between We make no distinction ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ َاِﻟَﻴْ َﻚ اﻟْ َﻤ ِﺼﻴْ ُ ۝‬ ‫َﺳ ِﻤﻌْﻨَﺎ َاَ َﻃﻌْﻨَﺎ ﻏُﻔْ َاﻧَ َﻚ‬ is the (final) and to You our Rabb! (Grant us) Your and we “We heard destination.” forgiveness obeyed, ‫ﻧَﻔْ ًﺴﺎ اِﻻ ُ ْﺳﻌَﻬَﺎ‬ ُ‫َﻻ ُ َﳫِّ ُﻒ اﷲ‬ ‫ﻟَﻬَﺎ‬ For it to its capacity. except any soul Allah does not burden ‫َﻣﺎ ا ْﺘَ َﺴﺒَ ْﺖ‬ ‫َﻣﺎ ﻛَ َﺴﺒَ ْﺖ َﻋَﻠَﻴْﻬَﺎ‬ it earned. what and against it ‫َا ِﺧ ْﺬ‬ it ‫َﻻ‬earned; what ‫اَ ْو اَ ْﺧ َﻄﺎْﻧَﺎ‬ ‫ﻧ ِﺴﻴْﻨَﺂ‬ ْ‫َﺂ اِن‬ ُ ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ‬ we err, or ‫ﻨَﺂ‬wْ‫ﻴ‬eَ‫ﻠ‬foَ‫ﻋ‬rget ْ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ َ َﻻ َ ْﺤ ِﻤﻞ‬if Do not take us to task O Our Rabb! ‫اِ ْﺻ ًا‬ a burden upon us And do not lay Our Rabb! 66

‫ﻛَ َﻤﺎ َﺣﻤَﻠْﺘَﻪٗ ﻋَﻠَﻰ اﻟ ِﺬﻳْ َﻦ ِﻣﻦ ﻗَﺒﻠِﻨَﺎ‬ ٖ‫(ﻟَﻨَﺎ ﺑِﻪ‬were) before us, َ‫ َﻃﺎﻗَﺔ‬on‫ َﻻ‬those‫ﺎ‬w‫ َﻣ‬ho ‫ ِﻤﻠْﻨَﺎ‬Y‫َﺤ‬ouُ‫ﺗ‬laid ‫َ َﻻ‬down [it] like that ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ‬ ‫َاﻋْ ُﻒ ﻋَﻨﺎ َاﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟَﻨَﺎ َا ْ َﺣﻤْﻨَﺎ‬of it (to bear). we have no strength what burden us with And do not Our Rabb! ‫۝‬and‫ َﻦ‬hْ‫ﻳ‬avِ eِ‫ﻔ‬m‫ٰﻜ‬ercْ‫ﻟ‬y‫ا‬on us. ِ‫ْﻧَﺎ ﻋَﻠَﻰ اﻟْﻘَ ْﻮم‬and forgive us ‫ﻓَﺎﻧ ُﺼ‬ And pardon us ‫اَﻧ َﺖ ﻣَ ْﻮ ﯩﻨَﺎ‬ (who are) disbelievers. against the people so help us our protector, You are (Surah Al-Baqarah: 285, 286, Bukhari: 500)  Prophet Muhammad ᤖ said: When you go to your bed, you should recite Takbir (Allah-o-Akbar) 34 times and Tasbih (Subhan Allah) 33 times and Tahmid (al-Hamdu li-Allah) 33 times, and that is better than the servant for you. Ǥِ ‫ ُﺳﺒ َﺤﺎنَ ا‬Ǥُ َ‫اَ ُ أَﻛْﺒ‬ Ǥِ‫اَﻟْ َﺤ ْﻤ ُﺪ ِﷲ‬ All praises and thanks are due to Allah. Glorified is Allah, Allah is Great, (33 times) (33 times) (34 times) (Muslim: 2727)  Clean the bed before laying on it. (Bukhari: 6320)  When you go to bed Lay down on right side and place your right chǤe‫َﺎ‬e‫ﻴ‬k‫ ْﺣ‬oَ ‫أ‬nَ the right pal‫ت‬mُ tْ hُ‫ﻣ‬eَ ‫أ‬n recite this Du’a: ‫ا‬ ‫ﺑِﺎ ْﺳ ِﻤ َﻚ‬ and I live. I die O Allah! In Your name (Musnad Ahmad: 23271) Narrated Abu Huraira:  The Prophet ᤖ said, \"When anyone of you go to bed, he should shake out his bed with the inside of his waist sheet, for he does not know what has come on to it after him, and then he should say:I ،ٗ‫ﺑِﺎ ْﺳ ِﻤ َﻚ َ ِّب َ َﺿﻌْ ُﺖ َﺟﻨْﺒِ ْﻰ َوﺑِ َﻚ أَ ْﻓَﻌُﻪ‬ ‫أ َ ْ َﺳﻠْﺘَﻬَﺎ‬I will raise it up. and in Your name my side place ‫أ َﻣْ َﺴ ْﻜ َﺖ‬my Rabb, In Your name ْ‫ َوإِن‬،‫ﻓَﺎ ْ َﺣﻤْ َﻬﺎ‬ ‫ﻧَﻔْ ِﺴ ْﻰ‬ ْ‫إِن‬ You send it (back) and if then have mercy on it, my soul You withhold If Ǥ‫ﻓَﺎ ْﺣﻔَ ْﻈ َﻬﺎﺑِﻤَﺎ ﺗَ ْﺤﻔَ ُﻆ ﺑِﻪٖ ِﻋﺒَﺎدَ َك اﻟﺼﺎﻟِ ِﺤﻴْ َﻦ‬ (who are) with (Bukhari: 6320) righteous. Your slaves [with it] You guard which then guard it 67

‫ ﻟَ َﻚ ﻣَﻤَﺎﺗُ َﻬﺎ‬،‫اَ َﺧﻠَﻘ َﺖ ﻧَﻔْ ِﺴ ْﻰ َأَﻧ َﺖ ﺗَ َﻓﺎﻫَﺎ‬ f‫ﺎ‬or‫ َﻬ‬Y‫ﺘ‬ouَ‫ﻣ‬iَ ‫أ‬ts death cause it to die, and You o‫ﺎ‬nlَ‫ﻬ‬yَ‫ﻴَﻴْﺘ‬m‫ ْﺣ‬yَ‫أ‬soul You created O Allah! ْ‫ﻓَﺎ ْﺣﻔَ ْﻈﻬَﺎ َوإِن‬ ْ‫ إِن‬،‫َ َﻣ ْﺤﻴَﺎﻫَﺎ‬ then guard it and it's living. َ‫ ا َ إِﻧِ ْﻰ أَ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ اﻟْﻌَﺎﻓِﻴَﺔ‬،‫ﻓَﺎﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟَﻬَﺎ‬You cause it die and if You give life to it If Ǥ (Muslim: 2712, Musnad of the health I beg You Indeed I O Allah! [for] it, then forgive and well being. ،‫ َﻓَ ْﺿ ُﺖ أَﻣْ ِ ْى إِﻟَﻴْ َﻚ‬،‫اَ أَ ْﺳﻠَﻤْ ُﺖ ﻧَﻔْ ِﺴ ْﻰ إِﻟَﻴْ َﻚ‬Ahmad:5502) my affairs I have (matter) to You, my self submitted ،‫ َأَﻟْ َﺠﺄْ ُت َﻇﻬْ ِ ْى إِﻟَﻴْ َﻚ‬،‫َو َﺟﻬْ ُﺖ َﺟ ِﻬ ْﻰ إِﻟَﻴْ َﻚ‬toYou, O Allah! and entrusted and I forced (bowed my face down) to You, ‫ َﻻ َﻣﻠْ َﺠﺄَ َ َﻻ ﻣَﻨ َﺠﺎ‬،‫َﻏْﺒَﺔً و َﻫْﺒَﺔً إِﻟَﻴْ َﻚ‬mybacktowards You, and I turned ‫ﻣِﻨ َﻚ‬ ،‫اﻟ ِﺬ ْى أ َﻧ َﻟْ َﺖ‬from You and no safe heaven no refuge from You, and in fear out of hope ‫ ﻣَﻨ ُﺖ ﺑِ ِﻜﺘَﺎﺑِ َﻚ‬،‫إِﻻ إِﻟَﻴْ َﻚ‬ You have revealed, which َi‫أ‬n Your Book I believed but with You, Ǥ‫ْ َﺳﻠْ َﺖ‬ ‫اﻟ ِﺬ ْى‬ ‫َوﺑِﻨَﺒِﻴِّ َﻚ‬ (Bukhari: 6313, Muslim: 2710) You  have sent. the one who and in Your Prophet ᤖ,  Narrated Hafsah, Ummul Mu'minin: When the Messenger of Allah ᤖ wanted to go to sleep, he would put his right hand under his cheek and would then say three times: .‫ ﻳَ ْﻮمَ ﺗَﺒﻌَ ُﺚ ِﻋﺒَﺎدَ َك‬،‫اَ ﻗِﻨِ ْﻰ ﻋَ َﺬاﺑَ َﻚ‬ (Abu Dawood: 5045) Your slaves. when You (the) day from Your save me O Allah! resurrect punishment َ ‫ ﻓَﺎ ِﻃ‬،ِ‫َاﻟﺸ َﻬﺎ َدة‬ ‫ﻋَﺎﻟِﻢَ اﻟْﻐَﻴْ ِﺐ‬ َ‫ا‬ ،ٗ‫ﻪ‬Cr‫َﻜ‬eatْ‫ﻴ‬oِ‫ﻠ‬r oَ‫ﻣ‬f ‫ َب ُ ِﰻّ َﺷ ْﻰ ٍء‬،‫َا ْﻷ َ ْ ِض‬and the seen (visible), of the unseen (hidden) Knower O Allah! thing every the Rabb of and the earth, and its owner, ‫اﻟﺴ ٰﻤ ٰ ِت‬ the heavens 68

‫ أَﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ‬،‫أَ ْﺷ َﻬ ُﺪ أَنْ ﻻ إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ أَﻧ َﺖ‬ in You I seek refuge except You, there is no God that I bear witness .ٖ‫َ ِﻣﻦ َﺷ ِّﺮ اﻟﺸﻴْ َﻄﺎ ِن َ ِﺷ ْﺮ ِﻪ‬ and his Shirk (associating ‫ِﻣﻦ َﺷ ِّﺮ ﻧَﻔْ ِﺴ ْﻰ‬ partners to Allah) Shaitan and from the evil of of my soul from the evil ‫(أ َﻃﻌَ َﻤﻨَﺎ َ َﺳﻘَﺎﻧَﺎ َو َﻔَﺎﻧَﺎ‬Abu Dawood: 5083, Tirmidhi: 3392) ‫اَﻟْ َﺤ ْﻤ ُﺪ ِﷲِ اﻟ ِﺬ ْى‬ and provided All praises and sufficed us us drink fed us who and thanks ‫ ﻓَ َﻜﻢْ ﻣِﻤ ْﻦ‬،‫َ َاﻧَﺎ‬are due to Allah Ǥ‫َ َﻻ ﻣُ ْﺆ ِ َى‬ ٗ‫ﻻ َﰷﻓِ َﻰ ﻟَﻪ‬ and none to for there is no one to (are there) for many and gave us shelter them. ‫(َو َب ا ْﻷ َ ْ ِض‬Muslim: 2715) them provide sufficiency who people shelter, ‫َب اﻟﺴ ٰﻤ ٰ ِت اﻟﺴﺒ ِﻊ‬ َ‫ا‬ the earth and the Rabb of the seven heavens the Rabb of O Allah! ‫ َﺑﻨَﺎ‬،‫َو َب اﻟْﻌَ ْ ِش اﻟْﻌَ ِﻈﻴْ ِﻢ‬ ،ٍ‫َو َب ُ ِﰻّ َﺷ ْﻰء‬ everything, and the Rabb of Our Rabb the magnificent throne, & the Rabb of ‫ َﻣُﻨ ِلَ اﻟﺘ ْﻮ َاةِ َا ْ ِﻹﻧ ِﺠﻴْ ِﻞ‬،‫ﻓَﺎﻟِ َﻖ اﻟْ َﺤ ِّﺐ َاﻟﻨ ٰى‬ ‫ أ َﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ ِﻣﻦ َﺷ ِّﺮ ُ ِﰻّ َﺷ ْﻰ ٍء‬،‫َاﻟْﻔُ ْﻗَﺎ ِن‬and the Bible the Tawrah and the sender of and the seeds, the grains the splitter of from the evil of in You ُ‫ ا َ أَﻧ َﺖ ا ْﻷ َ ل‬،ٖ‫أَﻧ َﺖ ِﺧﺬ ﺑِﻨَﺎ ِﺻﻴَﺘِﻪ‬everything I seek refuge and the criterion, ‫ َأَﻧ َﺖ ا ْ ِﺧ ُ ﻓَﻠَﻴْ َﺲ‬،ٌ‫ﻓَﻠَﻴْ َﺲ ﻗَﺒﻠَ َﻚ َﺷ ْﻰء‬the firstYour are O Allah! by its forelocks, are the one who holds (it) You and there is not the ‫َأ َﻧ َﺖ اﻟﻈﺎﻫِ ُ ﻓ َﻠَﻴْ َﺲ‬last and You are anything, before You and there was not ،ٌ‫َﺷ ْﻰء‬ ‫ْﻗَ َﻚ‬ َ‫ﻓ‬ ،ٌ‫ﺑَﻌْ َﺪ َك َﺷ ْﻰء‬ ،ٌ‫َأ َﻧ َﺖ اﻟْﺒَﺎ ِﻃ ُﻦ ﻓ َﻠَﻴْ َﺲ ُد ْﻧَ َﻚ َﺷ ْﻰء‬anything, above You thus there is not the Most High and You anything, after You anything, ‫اِﻗ ِﺾ ﻋَﻨﺎ اﻟﺪﻳْ َﻦ َأَﻏْﻨِﻨَﺎ ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟْﻔَﻘ ِﺮ‬Ǥ hidden from You thus there is not the Most Near and You are (Muslim: 2713) from poverty. and relieve us (make self- the burden of debt from us Remove sufficient) 69

Du’a while changing position in the night sleep َ‫َﻻ إِ ﻪ‬ ‫ َب اﻟﺴ ٰﻤ ٰ ِت‬،ُ ‫إِﻻ اﷲُ اﻟْ َا ِﺣ ُﺪ اﻟْﻘَﻬﺎ‬ the the one with the one, but Allah, There is no God Rabb of overwhelming power, .ُ ‫َﻣَﺎ ﺑَﻴْﻨَﻬُﻤَﺎ اﻟْﻌَ ِﻳْ ُﺰ اﻟْﻐَﻔﺎ‬the heavens ‫َا ْﻷَ ْ ِض‬ (Mustadrak Hakim: 1980) the oft- The mighty in between & whatever is and the earth forgiver. (Allah), both, Du’a for distress in sleep or at the time of fear ٖ‫أَﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﳫِ َﻤﺎ ِت اﷲِ اﻟﺘﺎﻣﺎ ِت ﻣِ ْﻦ ﻏَ َﻀﺒِﻪٖ َ ِﻋﻘَﺎﺑِﻪ‬ which are of perfect Allah and His with the words I seek refuge .‫اﻟﺸﻴَﺎ ِﻃﻴْ ِﻦ َأَنْ ﻳ ْﺤ ُﻀ ُ ْ ِن‬punishment from His wrath ‫ َﻣِ ْﻦ ﻫَﻤَ ٰ ِت‬،ٖ‫َ َﺷ ِّﺮ ِﻋﺒَﺎدِه‬ and from the and from they come to me. and that of Shayateen whisperings of His slaves, the evil (Tirmidhi: 3528) On seeing a good/bad dream or at waking up in the night:  Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: The Prophet ᤖ said, \"If anyone of you sees a dream that he likes, then it is from Allah, and he should thank Allah for it and narrate it to others; but if he sees something else, i.e., a dream that he dislikes, then it is from Shaitan, and he should seek refuge in Allah from its evil, and he should not mention it to anybody, for it will not harm him.\" (Bukhari: 6985)  Jabir reported Allah's Messenger ᤖ as saying: If anyone sees a dream which he does not like, he should spit on his left side three times, and seek refuge with Allah from the Shaitan three times, and let him turn over from the side on which he was sleeping. (Muslim: 2262)  The Prophet ᤖ \"Whoever gets up at night and says (the following prayer) he will be responded to and if he performs ablution (and prays), his prayer will be accepted.\" ‫ ﻟَﻪُ اﻟْ ُﻤﻠْ ُﻚ‬،ٗ‫َﻻ إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ اﷲُ َ ْﺣ َﺪهٗ َﻻ َﺷ ِﻳْ َﻚ ﻟَﻪ‬ to Him there is no He is the kingdom belongs to Him, partner alone, but Allah, there is no  God Ǥٌ ْ‫ َﻫُ َﻮ ﻋَ ٰﲆ ُ ِﰻّ َﺷ ْﻰ ٍء ﻗَ ِﺪﻳ‬،‫اﻟْ َﺤﻤْ ُﺪ‬ ُ‫َﻟَﻪ‬ are all praises is all Powerful, over every thing and He is and thanks are, and to Him 70

،ُ َ‫ُﺳﺒ َﺤﺎنَ ا ِ َاﻟْ َﺤﻤْ ُﺪ ِﷲِ َ َﻻ إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ اﷲُ َا ُ أَﻛْﺒ‬ and Allah is the and all praises greatest, but Allah and there is no God are due to Allah Glorified is Allah ِ‫ﺑِﺎﷲ‬ ‫إِﻻ‬ َ‫َ َﻻ ﻗُ ة‬ َ‫َﻻ َﺣ ْل‬ power (to do ،‫اﻟْﻌَﻠِ ِّﻰ اﻟْﻌَ ِﻈﻴْ ِﻢ‬and there There good) is no is no with (the help of)except power (to resist evil) .‫َ ِّب اﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟِ ْﻰ‬Allah, (Bukhari: 1154) forgive me. o my Rabb (and) the magnificent, who is exalted High Du’a when waking up from the sleep  Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet ᤖ said, \"If anyone of you wakes up from sleep and performs the ablution, he should wash his nose by putting water in it and then blowing it out thrice, because Shaitan has st‫ﺎ‬aَ ‫ﻧ‬ye‫ﻴ َﺎ‬d‫ ْﺣ‬inَ ‫أ‬the upper part of his nose all the night.\" (Bukhari 3295) ‫اﻟ ِﺬ ْى‬ ِ‫ِﷲ‬ ‫اَﻟْ َﺤﻤْ ُﺪ‬ has given life to us who ‫أ َ َﻣﺎﺗَﻨَﺎ‬are due to Allah All praises Ǥُ ‫اﻟﻨ ُﺸ ْﻮ‬ ِ‫َوإِﻟَﻴْﻪ‬ ‫ﺑَﻌْ َﺪ َﻣﺎ‬ (Bukhari: 6312) is the resurrection. and unto Him He caused us to die which after And also recite these Du’as: ،‫ِﷲِ اﻟ ِﺬ ْى ﻋَﺎﻓَﺎﻧِ ْﻰ ﻓِ ْﻰ َﺟ َﺴ ِﺪ ْى‬ ‫اَﻟْ َﺤ ْﻤ ُﺪ‬ in my body, healed me who are due to Allah All praises and thanks ٖ‫ َأَذِنَ ﻟِ ْﻰ ﺑِ ِﺬ ْ ِﺮه‬،‫َو َد ﻋَﻠَﻰ ُ ْ ِﺣ ْﻰ‬Ǥ (Tirmidhi: 3401) to remember Him. me and permitted my soul, to me and returned ‫اِن ﻓِ ْﻰ َﺧﻠْ ِﻖ اﻟﺴﻤٰ ٰ ِت َا ْﻻَ ْ ِض َا ْﺧﺘِ َﻼ ِف‬ and in the alteration of and the earth of the heavens in the creation Indeed ‫َ ﻳٰ ٍﺖ ِّﻻُ ْﻟِﻰ ا ْﻻَﻟْﺒَﺎ ِب ۝‬ ْ‫ْدًا ﻋَ ٰﲆ ُﺟﻨُ ْﻮﺑِ ِﻬﻢ‬for the men of understanding. ِ‫اﻟﻴْ ِﻞ َاﻟﻨﻬَﺎر‬ ‫ ﻗ ُﻌ‬are surely the signs َ‫ُ ْن‬and the dُ ay‫ﻳَ ْﺬ‬ night ُ ‫ﻗِﻴٰﻤًﺎ‬ َ ‫اﷲ‬ ‫اﻟ ِﺬﻳْ َﻦ‬ and (when lying down) and sitting standing Allah remember those who on their sides ‫ﻓِ ْﻰ َﺧﻠْ ِﻖ اﻟﺴ ٰﻤ ٰ ِت َا ْﻻَ ْ ِض َﺑﻨَﺎ‬ َ‫َﻳَﺘَﻔَﻜ ُ ْن‬ Our Rabb! and the earth. the heavens in the creation of and they reflect/ponder over 71

‫َﻣﺎ َﺧﻠَﻘ َﺖ ﻫٰ َﺬا ﺑَﺎ ِﻃ ًﻼ ُﺳﺒ ٰﺤﻨَ َﻚ ﻓَﻘِﻨَﺎ ﻋَ َﺬا َب اﻟﻨﺎرِ ۝‬ from the so Glory be in vain (without You have not torment of the fire. save us to You, purpose) this created ٗ‫اِﻧ َﻚ َﻣﻦ ُﺪ ِﺧ ِﻞ اﻟﻨﺎ َ ﻓَﻘَﺪ اَ ْﺧ َﻳْﺘَﻪ‬ ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ‬ You have disgraced then (to) the fire whom You admit indeed [You] O our Rabb! (humiliated) him, surely ‫َ َﻣﺎ ﻟِﻠﻈﻠِ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ ِﻣ ْﻦ اَﻧ َﺼﺎرٍ۝ َﺑﻨَﺂ اِﻧﻨَﺎ َﺳ ِﻤﻌْﻨَﺎ ﻣُﻨَﺎدِﻳًﺎ‬ & there will not for the any helpers. wrong doers ‫ﻳﻨَﺎدِ ْى ﻟِ ْ ِﻼﻳْ َﻤﺎ ِن اَنْ ِﻣﻨُ ْا ﺑِ َﺑِّ ُﻜﻢْ ﻓَ ﻣَﻨﺎ‬acaller heard Indeed we Our Rabb! so we have believed. in Y‫ ْﺮ‬oِّ‫ﻔ‬urَ Rabb!’ ُ‫ﻟَﻨَﺎ ذُﻧ‬that ‘Believe to‫ ْﺮ‬tِh‫ﻔ‬eْ‫ﻏ‬fa‫ﺎ‬iَt‫ﻓ‬h calling ‫ﻋَﻨﺎ َﺳﻴِّ ﺗِﻨَﺎ‬ ‫َو‬ ‫ْﺑَﻨَﺎ‬ ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ‬ our evil deeds from us and remove our sins for us So forgive O Our Rabb! ‫۝َﺗَ َﻓﻨَﺎ َﻣ َﻊ ا ْﻻَﺑ َا ِ َﺑﻨَﺎ َ ﺗِﻨَﺎ َﻣﺎ َﻋَﺪﺗَﻨَﺎ‬ what You And the righteous and cause promised us grant us O Our Rabb! people. with us to die ‫ﻋَ ٰﲆ ُ ُﺳﻠِ َﻚ َ َﻻ ُ ْﺨ ِﻧَﺎ ﻳَ ْﻮمَ اﻟْﻘِﻴٰﻤَﺔِ اِﻧ َﻚ َﻻ ُ ْﺨﻠِ ُﻒ اﻟْ ِﻤﻴْﻌَﺎ َد ۝‬ You do not Indeed on the day of and do not through Your َ‫َﺑ ُﻬﻢْ ا َﻧِ ْﻰ َﻵ ا ُ ِﺿﻴْ ُﻊ ﻋَﻤَﻞ‬the promise. break You resurrection. ْ‫ﻟَﻬُﻢ‬disgrace us ‫ َب‬M‫ﺠﺎ‬eَ ssَe‫ﺘ‬n‫ ْﺳ‬ge‫ﺎ‬rsَ‫ﻓ‬ the deeds will not let go waste ‘Indeed I ْ‫ﻋَﺎ ِﻣ ٍﻞ ﻣِﻨ ُﻜﻢ‬their Rabb, to them Then responded ٰ‫ﻣِﻦ ذَ َ ٍﺮ اَ ْو اُﻧﺜ‬ female, or from (the)‫َﻦ‬maْ‫ﻳ‬le‫ﻓَﺎﻟ ِﺬ‬ among You ِ‫ ﻣ‬of ْa‫ﻢ‬d‫ُﻜ‬oer‫ﺑَﻌْ ُﻀ‬ ‫َاُ ْﺧ ِ ُﺟ ْا‬ ‫ْا‬ ُ ‫ﻫَﺎ َﺟ‬ ‫َﻌْ ٍﺾ‬ ‫ِﻣﻦ دِﻳَﺎ ِﻫِﻢْ َا ُ ْذُ ْا ﻓِ ْﻰ َﺳﺒِﻴْﻠِ ْﻰ َﻗٰﺘَﻠُ ْا‬and were driven out emigrated so those who from (the) other, each of you ْ‫ﻢ‬an‫ ُﻬ‬d‫ﻨ‬fَo‫ﻠ‬u‫ِﺧ‬ght ُ ‫َ َﻻ‬ in my way and ‫ُ َﻔِّ َن‬were harmed ‫َﻻ‬ ‫َﻗُﺘِﻠُ ْا‬from their homes ْ‫َﺳﻴِّ ﺗِ ِﻬﻢ‬ ْ‫ﻋَﻨْﻬُﻢ‬ and surely their evil deeds from them surely I will remove and were killed I will admit them 72

‫َﺟﻨ ٍﺖ ﺗَﺠ ِ ْى ِﻣﻦ َ ْﺤﺘِ َﻬﺎ ا ْﻻَﻧْ ٰﻬ ُ ﺛَ َاﺑًﺎ‬ a reward the rivers, from underneath them flowing to gardens ‫ﻣِ ْﻦ ِﻋﻨ ِﺪ اﷲِ َا ُ ِﻋﻨ َﺪهٗ ُﺣ ْﺴ ُﻦ اﻟﺜ َا ِب ۝‬ reward. is the best with Him And Allah from [near] Allah. ‫ﻛَﻔَ ُ ْا ﻓِ ْﻰ اﻟْﺒِ َﻼدِ ۝‬ ‫اﻟ ِﺬﻳْ َﻦ‬ ‫ﺗَﻘَﻠ ُﺐ‬ ‫َﻻ َﻐُ ﻧ َﻚ‬ ‫ ُد ۝‬in‫ﺎ‬t‫َﻬ‬he‫ ِﻤ‬laْ‫ﻟ‬nd‫ا‬. disbelieved of those who ْ ‫ﺛُﻢ ﻣَﺎ‬the movement ٌ ‫ﻞ‬Lْe‫ﻴ‬tِ‫ﻠ‬nَ ‫ﻗ‬ot deceive you ‫َوﺑِﺌْ َﺲ‬ ُ‫َﺟ َﻬﻨﻢ‬ ْ‫ٰﯨ ُﻬﻢ‬ ٌ‫ﻣَﺘ َ ع‬ resting place. and a wretched is Hell - their abode Then a little, An enjoyment ‫ِﻜ ِﻦ اﻟ ِﺬﻳْ َﻦ اﺗﻘَ ْا َﺑ ُﻬﻢْ ﻟَﻬُﻢْ َﺟﻨ ٌﺖ‬ will be gardens for them their Rabb fear those who But ‫ﺗَﺠ ِ ْى ﻣِﻦ َ ْﺤﺘِ َﻬﺎ ا ْﻻَﻧْ ٰﻬ ُ ٰﺧﻠِ ِﺪﻳْ َﻦ ﻓِﻴ َﻬﺎ‬ in it (They) will abide forever the rivers. from underneath them flows ‫ﻧُ ُ ًﻻ ِﻣ ْﻦ ِﻋﻨ ِﺪ اﷲِ َﻣَﺎ ِﻋﻨ َﺪ ا ِ َﺧﻴْ ٌ ﻟِّ ْﻼ َﺑ َا ِ ۝‬ for the righteous. is best is with Allah and what from [near] Allah - a hospitality ِ‫َاِن ِﻣ ْﻦ اَﻫْ ِﻞ اﻟْ ِﻜﺘٰ ِﺐ ﻟَﻤَ ْﻦ ﻳ ْﻣِ ُﻦ ﺑِﺎﷲ‬ in Allah believe are those who among the peْ‫ﻢ‬op‫ُﻜ‬le  oْ‫ﻴ‬fَ‫ﻟ‬thِ‫ا‬e Book and indeed ِ‫ٰﺧ ِﺸﻌِﻴْ َﻦ ِﷲ‬ ْ‫اِﻟَﻴْ ِﻬﻢ‬ َ‫َﻣَﺂ اُﻧ ِل‬ َ‫ِل‬ ‫َﻣَﺂ اُﻧ‬ to Allah, (they are) humbly to them, and what was to You and what was submissive revealed revealed ْ‫َﻻ َ ْﺸﺘَ ُ ْنَ ﺑِ ﻳٰ ِﺖ اﷲِ ﺛَﻤَﻨﺎ ﻗَﻠِﻴْ ًﻼ اُ ﻟ َﻚ ﻟَﻬُﻢ‬ for them those for a little price, [with] the verses of Allah they do not exchange ‫اَﺟ ُﻫُﻢْ ِﻋﻨ َﺪ َﺑِّ ِﻬﻢْ اِن اﷲَ َﺳ ِﻳْ ُﻊ اﻟْ ِﺤ َﺴﺎ ِب۝‬ ‫ﺄ َﻳ َﻬﺎ اﻟ ِﺬﻳْ َﻦ ﻣَﻨُ ْا ا ْﺻﺒِ ُ ْا َ َﺻﺎﺑِ ُ ْا َو َاﺑِ ُﻄ ْا‬is swift in taking the account. Indeed Allah is with their Rabb their reward O You who and be constant, and be patient Be steadfast believed! َ‫۝َاﺗﻘُ ا اﷲَ ﻟَﻌَﻠ ُﻜﻢْ ﺗُﻔْﻠِ ُﺤ ْن‬ (Surah Aal-e-Imran: be successful. so that you may Allah and fear 190/200) 73

Du’as about Dressing Du’a while putting on new clothes ‫ﻟَ َﻚ‬ َ‫ا‬ ،ِ‫ أَﻧ َﺖ ﻛَ َﺴ ْﺗَﻨِﻴْﻪ‬،‫اﻟْ َﺤﻤْ ُﺪ‬ ،ٗ‫أ َ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ ﻣِ ْﻦ َﺧﻴْ ِﺮهٖ َ َﺧﻴْ ِﺮ ﻣَﺎ ُﺻﻨِ َﻊ ﻟَﻪ‬clothed me with it, You only are the praises and thanks, for You only O Allah! for, it is made and good for which from good of it I ask Yُ‫ﻋ‬oَu‫َأ‬ Ǥٗ‫ﺑِ َﻚ ﻣِﻦ َﺷ ِّﺮهٖ َ َﺷ ِّﺮ ﻣَﺎ ُﺻﻨِ َﻊ ﻟَﻪ‬ ُ‫ْذ‬ it is made for. and the evil for which from the evil of it in You and I seek refuge (Abu Dawood: 4020) Du’a for the one who wears new dress ‫ﺗُﺒﻠِ ْﻰ‬ Ǥ‫َﻳُ ْﺨﻠِ ُﻒ اﷲُ ﺗَﻌَﺎ ٰﱃ‬ (Abu Dawood: 4020) and All the Most High may replace (it with another) You wear it out Ǥ‫ َﻣُ ْﺖ َﺷ ِﻬﻴْ ًﺪا‬،‫ َ ِﻋ ْﺶ َﺣ ِﻤﻴْ ًﺪا‬،‫اِﻟْﺒَ ْﺲ َﺟ ِﺪﻳْ ًﺪا‬ as a martyr. & die a good one, & live a life, new, Wear (clothes) (Abu Dawood: 4020) Du’a on wearing casual dress  Start wearing the clothes from right side (Bukhari: 168) and recite this Du’a: ‫اَﻟْ َﺤ ْﻤ ُﺪ‬ ‫ِ ّﷲِ اﻟ ِﺬ ْى ﻛَ َﺴﺎﻧِ ْﻰ ﻫٰ َﺬا اﻟﺜ ْ َب‬ this dress clothed me with who are due to Allah All praises and thanks Ǥٍ‫َ َﻻ ﻗُﻮة‬ ‫َو َ َﻗَﻨِﻴْﻪِ ﻣِ ْﻦ ﻏَﻴْ ِﺮ َﺣ ْ ٍل ِﻣﻨِ ْﻰ‬ and nor with any power. from my side any might without & provided me this (Abu Dawood: 4023) ِ‫ﺑِ ْﺴ ِﻢ اﷲ‬At the time of removing clothes (Sahih Al-Jami’ Al-Sagheer: In the name of Allah 3610) 74

Du’as about Travelling While going out of House Ǥِ‫ َﻻ َﺣ ْلَ َ َﻻ ﻗُ ةَ إِﻻ ِﺎﷲ‬،ِ‫ﺑِ ْﺴ ِﻢ اﷲِ ﺗَ َﻮ ْ ُﺖ ﻋَﻠَﻰ اﷲ‬ except there is no In the name with Allah. and no power strength upon Allah,  I trusted of Allah, ،‫(أَ ْو أُ َﺿﻞ‬Abu Dawood: 5095) ‫أَﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ أَنْ أَ ِﺿﻞ‬ ‫إِﻧِﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ that I go astray in You I seek refuge Indeed I O Allah! ،َ‫ أَ ْو أَ ْﻇﻠِﻢَ أَ ْو أُ ْﻇﻠَﻢ‬،‫أَ ْو أَ ِل أَ ْو أُ َل‬or be strayed, or I be wronged, or I am made to slip (by others), or I slip (Abu Dawood: 5094) ‫أَ ْو أَﺟ َﻬﻞَ أَ ْو ُﺠ َﻬﻞَ ﻋَﻠَﻰ‬or I do wrong Ǥ against me. or anyone should act foolishly or I act foolishly While entering the house ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ ‫أَ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ َﺧﻴْ َ اﻟْ َﻤ ْﻟِ ِﺞ‬ Indeed I O Allah! of (my) entering the good beg of You ِ‫ ﺑِ ْﺴ ِﻢ اﷲ‬،‫اﻟْﻤَ ْﺨ َ ِج‬ َ ْ‫َ َﺧﻴ‬ ‫َﻟَﺠﻨَﺎ‬ and the good we entered In the name of Allah of (my) going out. Ǥ‫َﺧ َﺟﻨَﺎ َﻋَﻠَﻰ اﷲِ َﺑِّﻨَﺎ ﺗَ َﻮ ْﻨَﺎ‬ ِ‫َوﺑِ ْﺴ ِﻢ اﷲ‬ (Abu Dawood: 5096) we relied and our Rabb and on Allah we came out & in the name of trusted. Allah While entering the market ،ُ‫إِﻻ اﷲ‬ َ‫َﻻ إِ ﻪ‬ ،ٗ‫َ ْﺣ َﺪهٗ َﻻ َﺷ ِﻳْ َﻚ ﻟَﻪ‬ to Him, there is not partner H،e‫ ُﺪ‬isْ‫ﻤ‬Al‫ﺤ‬oَ neْ‫ﻟ‬,‫ا‬ ُ‫َﻟَﻪ‬but Allah, ‫ﻤُﻠْ ُﻚ‬Thْ‫ﻟ‬e‫ا‬re is ُ‫ﻟَﻪ‬no God ،‫ﻳُ ْﺤ ِﻰ َﻳُ ِﻤﻴْ ُﺖ‬ are all praises and to Him thanks are, belongs and causes death, He brings life and to Him the kingdom ‫َﻫُ َﻮ‬ ،ُ ْ‫اﻟْ َﺨﻴ‬ ِ‫ ﺑِﻴَ ِﺪه‬،‫َﺣﻰ ﻻ َ ُﻤ ْ ُت‬ is all good, In His hand He does not die. is living, and He Ǥٌ ْ‫ﻋَ ٰﲆ ُ ِﰻّ َﺷ ْﻰ ٍء ﻗَ ِﺪﻳ‬ ‫َﻫُ َﻮ‬ (Tirmidhi: 3428, Mustadarak Hakim: 1974) (is) All-powerful. over every thing and He 75

To protect ourselves from being cheated in the market ‫ اَ إِﻧِ ْﻰ أَ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ َﺧﻴْ َ ﻫٰ ِﺬهِ اﻟﺴ ْ ِق‬،ِ‫ﺑِ ْﺴ ِﻢ اﷲ‬ of this market ‫ َأ َﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ‬،‫َ َﺧﻴْ َ ﻣَﺎ ﻓِﻴْﻬَﺎ‬the good I ask You Indeed I O Allah! In the name of Allah, ‫ﻣِﻦ َﺷ ِّﻫَﺎ‬ in You of what is in it. and the good ‫ ا َ إِﻧِ ْﻰ أَﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ‬،‫ﻣَﺎ ﻓِﻴْ َﻬﺎ‬from its evil And I seek refuge ‫َ َﺷ ِّﺮ‬ in You I seek refuge ‫َ ْو‬I‫أ‬ndeًe‫ة‬dَ I‫ﻓَﺎ ِﺟ‬ O Allah! of what is in it. ‫ َﺐ‬aْ‫ﻴ‬n‫ﺻ‬dِ thُ‫أ‬e eْ‫ن‬viَl‫أ‬ Ǥً‫َﺻﻔْﻘَﺔً َﺧﺎ ِﺳ َة‬ ‫ﻓِﻴْ َﻬﺎ ﻳَ ِﻤﻴْﻨًﺎ‬ of loss. a transaction or (of) a false oath in it that I become a victim (Mustadrak LilHakim: 1913) On purchasing a ride ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ ‫أَ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ َﺧﻴْ َﻫَﺎ‬ ‫ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ‬the good of it ُ‫ َأَﻋ‬I ask Y،ouِ‫ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻪ‬ ‫َﻬﺎ‬Inَ‫ﺘ‬deْ‫ﻠ‬eَ‫ﺒ‬d ‫ﺟ‬Iَ ‫َﻣﺎ‬ O Allah! َ ْ‫َ َﺧﻴ‬ in You and I seek refuge towards [it], what you have made and the good of her inclined .ِ‫َﻣﺎ َﺟﺒَﻠْﺘَﻬَﺎ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻪ‬ ‫ِﻣﻦ َﺷ ِّﻫَﺎ‬ ‫َ َﺷ ِّﺮ‬ from its evil towards [it]. what you have made her inclined and the evil of (Abu Dawood: 2160, Ibn Majah: 2252) For sitting on the ride ،ِ‫اَﻟْ َﺤ ْﻤ ُﺪ ِﷲ‬ ،ِ‫ﺑِ ْﺴ ِﻢ اﷲ‬ ‫ُﺳﺒ َﺤﺎنَ اﻟ ِﺬ ْى‬ ،‫َﺳﺨ َ ﻟَﻨَﺎ ﻫٰ َﺬا َﻣَﺎ ُﻨﺎ ﻟَﻪٗ ﻣُﻘ ِﻧِﻴْ َﻦ‬the one who Glory be to all praises and thanks are due to Allah, In the name of Allah, and we were made subservient to control it, not (able) this (ride) for us (given in control) ،َ‫إِ ٰﱃ َﺑِّﻨَﺎ ﻟَ ُﻤﻨﻘَﻠِﺒُ ْن‬ ‫َوإِﻧﺎ‬ ،ُ َ‫ا َ ُ أ َﻛْﺒ‬surely are to return. to our Rabb and indeed we ،ِ‫اَﻟْ َﺤ ْﻤ ُﺪ ِﷲ‬ All praises & thanks are due to Allah, (3 times) Allah is the greatest, 76

‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ َﻇﻠَﻤْ ُﺖ ﻧَﻔْ ِﺴ ْﻰ‬ ‫ُﺳﺒ َﺤﺎﻧَ َﻚ ا‬ Ǥ‫ َﺖ‬my‫ﻧ‬sَe‫أ‬lf‫إِﻻ‬ wronged Indeed I have O Allah! Glorified are You ‫ ﻓَ ِﺈﻧﻪٗ َﻻ َﻐْﻔِ ُ اﻟﺬﻧُ ْ َب‬،‫ﻓَﺎﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟِ ْﻰ‬ so forgive me except You. the sins none can forgive and indeed so forgive me (Abu Dawood: 2602, Tirmidhi: 3446) Du’a of the Traveling ،ُ َ‫اَ ُ أَﻛْﺒ‬ ،ُ َ‫اَ ُ أَﻛْﺒ‬ ،ُ َ‫اَ ُ أَﻛْﺒ‬ Allah is the greatest, ‫َﺳﺨ َ ﻟَﻨَﺎ ﻫٰ َﺬا َﻣَﺎ ُﻨﺎ‬Allah is the greatest, ‫ُﺳﺒ َﺤﺎنَ اﻟ ِﺬ ْى‬Allah is the greatest, and we were this (ride) for us made subservient the one Glory be to (given in control) who ،َ‫ن‬noْ tُ‫(ﺒ‬aِ‫ﻠ‬bَ‫ﻘ‬le‫ﻟَﻤُ )ﻨ‬ ٗ‫ﻟَﻪ‬ ‫ َوإِﻧﺎ إِ ٰﱃ َﺑِّﻨَﺎ‬،‫ُﻣﻘ ِﻧِﻴْ َﻦ‬ surely are to return. to our Rabb and indeed we to control it, ‫ا َ إِﻧﺎ ﻧَ ْﺴ َﻠُ َﻚ ﻓِ ْﻰ َﺳﻔَ ِﻧَﺎ ﻫٰ َﺬا‬to control it, in this journey of ours ‫ﻟْﻌَﻤَ ِﻞ‬w‫ا‬e ask You Indeed we ِ‫اﻟْﺒ‬O Allah! ، ‫َﻣﺎ َ ْ ٰﺿ‬ ‫َﻣِ َﻦ‬ ‫َاﻟﺘﻘ ٰى‬ that pleases You. and such action and the piety the virtue / good ،ٗ‫اَ ﻫَ ِّنْ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻨَﺎ َﺳﻔَ َﻧَﺎ ﻫَ َﺬا َاﻃ ِﻮ ﻋَﻨﺎ ﺑُﻌْ َﺪه‬ and fold it (shorten it) ،‫ا َ أَﻧ َﺖ اﻟﺼﺎ ِﺣ ُﺐ ﻓِﻰ اﻟﺴﻔَ ِﺮ َاﻟْ َﺨﻠِﻴْﻔَﺔُ ﻓِﻰ ا ْﻷ َﻫْ ِﻞ‬it's distance. for us this journey of ours upon us make it easy O Allah! ،‫ا َ إ ِﻧِ ْﻰ أ َﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ ﻣِ ْﻦ ﻋْﺜ َﺎ ِء اﻟﺴﻔَ ِﺮ‬for the family, and the guardian in the journey our companion You Are O Allah! ‫َا ْﻷ َﻫْ ِﻞ‬of the journey, from the hardship in You I seek refuge Indeed I O Allah! ‫َ ُﺳ ْ ِء اﻟْ ُﻤﻨﻘَﻠَ ِﺐ‬ ،‫َو َ ﺑَﺔِ اﻟْ َﻤﻨ َﻈ ِﺮ‬ Ǥ ِ ‫ﻓِﻰ اﻟْ َﻤﺎ‬ and the family. in the property (of) changes and the evil of the sights, gloominess Prophet Muhammad ᤖ used to recite the same words on return from jou.rnَ‫ن‬eْ y‫ ُﺪ‬aِ‫ﻣ‬nd‫ َﺣﺎ‬used to add these َ‫ن‬inْ it: َ‫ﺗَﺎ ِﺒُ ْن‬ َ‫ِﺒُ ْن‬ We are those those who We are those who who return, ‫َﺑِّﻨَﺎ‬ ِ‫ﻟ‬ ‫ﻋَﺎﺑِ ُﺪ‬ repent, return, (Muslim: 1342) those who those who praise our Rabb. worship, 77

Du’a for the Traveler Ǥ‫أَ ْﺳﺘَ ْ ِعُ اﷲَ دِﻳْﻨَ َﻚ َأَﻣَﺎﻧَﺘَ َﻚ َ َﺧ َاﺗِﻴْﻢَ ﻋَ َﻤﻠِ َﻚ‬ deed of yours. and the final and your trust your Deen with Allah I entrust (Tirmidhi: 3443) َ َ‫َﻏَﻔ‬ ،‫زَ َد َك اﷲُ اﻟﺘﻘ ٰى‬ ،‫ذَﻧْﺒَ َﻚ‬ and forgive piety, May Allah grant you May Allah grant you your sins, َ ْ‫اﻟْ َﺨﻴ‬ ‫َﻳَﺴ َ ﻟَ َﻚ‬ Ǥ‫َﻣﺎ ُﻨ َﺖ‬ ‫َﺣﻴْ ُﺚ‬ you may be. wherever all good for you and make easy (Tirmidhi: 3443) Du’a of the traveler for family َ‫أَ ْﺳﺘَ ْدِﻋُ ُﻜﻢُ اﷲ‬ Ǥٗ‫اﻟ ِﺬ ْى َﻻ َ ِﻀﻴْ ُﻊ َدَا ِﻌُﻪ‬ (His) entrusted things are never lost. the one who (is such that) to Allah, I entrust you (Ibn Majah: 2825) Tasbeeh & Takbeer while on a journey  H\"ُ aَ‫ﻛْﺒ‬zَ‫أ‬rُatَ‫\"ا‬Jaabnidr ‫ ﷜‬narrates that when we climb upwards we used to say takbeer when we climb down we used to say  \"ِ ‫ا‬ ‫( \" ُﺳﺒ ٰﺤ َﻦ‬Bukhari: 2993) Morning Du’a in course of a journey ‫َ ُﺣ ْﺴ ِﻦ‬ ِ‫ﺑِ َﺤ ْﻤ ِﺪ اﷲ‬ ‫َﺳﺎ ِﻣﻊ‬ ‫َﺳ ِﻤ َﻊ‬ and (saw) the goodness of to (our) praise of Allah A listener listened ‫َﺻﺎ ِﺣﺒﻨَﺎ‬ ‫َﺑﻨَﺎ‬ ،‫ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻨَﺎ‬ ٖ‫ﺑَ َﻼ ِﻪ‬ Accompany us O Our Rabb! upon us Hْi‫ﻞ‬s re‫ ِﻀ‬waْ‫ﻓ‬rdَ ‫أ‬sَ Ǥِ‫ﺑِﺎﷲِ ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟﻨﺎر‬ ۢ‫ ﻋَﺎ ِ ًﺬا‬،‫ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻨَﺎ‬ (Muslim: 2718) from the fire. in Allah (I am) seeking upon us. and grant refuge blessings Du’a for staying at any place during journey Ǥ‫أَﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﳫِ َﻤﺎ ِت اﷲِ اﻟﺘﺎﻣﺎ ِت ﻣِﻦ َﺷ ِّﺮ ﻣَﺎ َﺧﻠَ َﻖ‬ what He from (which are) of with the (Muslim: 2708) created. the evil of perfect Allah wordings I seek refuge Du’a while entering the city / town ‫َب‬ َ‫ا‬ ،‫اﻟﺴ ٰﻤ ٰ ِت اﻟﺴﺒ ِﻊ َ َﻣﺎ أَ ْﻇﻠَﻠْ َﻦ‬ the Rabb O Allah, they have shaded, and which of the seven Heavens 78

،‫َ َﻣﺎ أَﻗﻠَﻠْ َﻦ‬ ‫َو َب ا ْﻷَ َ ِﺿﻴْ َﻦ اﻟﺴﺒ ِﻊ‬ of the seven earths and (who is) the Rabb ِ ‫ َو َب اﻟ ِّﺮﻳَﺎ‬،‫َو َب اﻟﺸﻴَﺎ ِﻃﻴْ َﻦ َ َﻣﺎ أَ ْﺿﻠَﻠْ َﻦ‬they have carried,and which ِ‫أ َ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ َﺧﻴْ َ ﻫٰ ِﺬهِ اﻟْﻘَ ْﻳَﺔ‬of the winds & the Rabb they have misled, & those ،‫َ َﻣﺎ ذَ َﻳْ َﻦ‬of Shayateen & the Rabb ُ‫ َأَﻋُ ْذ‬،‫َ َﺧﻴْ َ أَﻫْﻠِ َﻬﺎ َ َﺧﻴْ َ ﻣَﺎ ﻓِﻴْﻬَﺎ‬of this townI ask You all the good they have blown away, and what of what is in it, of its dwellers and the good and I seek refuge & the good ‫ﺑِ َﻚ ِﻣﻦ َﺷ ِّﻫَﺎ َ َﺷ ِّﺮ أَﻫْﻠِ َﻬﺎ َ َﺷ ِّﺮ ﻣَﺎ ﻓِﻴْﻬَﺎ‬Ǥ of what is in it. & the evil of it's dwellers and the evil of from its evil in You (Nasa'i fi Amalil Yaumi wal Lailah: 547) When the ride slips  Abu al-Malih reported on the authority of a man: I was riding on a mount behind the prophet (May peace be upon him). It stumbled. Thereupon I said: May the devil perish! He said: Do not say, ‘may the devil perish!’ For you say that, he will swell so much so that he will be like a house, and say, ‘By my power.’ But say, ‫( ﺑﺴﻢ اﷲ‬In the name of Allah). For when you say that, he will diminish so much so that he will be like a fly. (Abu Dawood: 4982) When return from the journey  Narrated Ibn `Umar: Whenever Allah's Messenger ᤖ returned from a Ghazwah or Hajj or `Umrah, he used to say, ‫ اﷲ أﻛﺒﺮ‬three times; ‫ﻠْ ُﻚ‬w‫ ُﻤ‬hْ‫ﻟ‬e‫ا‬neveُ‫ﻪ‬rَ‫ﻟ‬he wen،tٗ ‫ﻪ‬uَ‫ﻟ‬p a h‫ﻚ‬iَ ghْ‫ﻳ‬pِ la‫ َﺷ‬ce,‫َﻻ‬he used to say the following: ‫َﻻ‬ ٗ‫َ ْﺣ َﺪه‬ ُ‫إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ اﷲ‬ to Him there is not ،‫َﻟَﻪُ اﻟْ َﺤﻤْ ُﺪ‬He isbut Allah,There is no God belongs partner the kingdom to Him, alone, ٌ ْ‫َﻫُ َﻮ ﻋَ ٰﲆ ُ ِﰻّ َﺷ ْﻰ ٍء ﻗَ ِﺪﻳ‬Ǥ (is) All-powerful. over everything and He are all praises and thanks are, and to Him Ǥَ‫ﺗَﺎ ِﺒُ ْنَ ﻋَﺎﺑِ ُﺪ ْنَ ﻟِ َﺑِّﻨَﺎ َﺣﺎﻣِ ُﺪ ْن‬ َ‫ِﺒُ ْن‬ those who praise our Rabb. those who worship, those who repent, We are those who return, ُ‫َﺻ َﺪ َق اﷲ‬ ،ٗ‫ َﻧَ َﺼ َ ﻋَﺒ َﺪه‬،ٗ‫َﻋْ َﺪه‬ Allah made true His slave, and helped His ‫ا ْﻷ َ ْﺣ‬promise, َ‫َﻫَ َﺰم‬ (Bukhari: 6385) Ǥٗ‫َ ْﺣ َﺪه‬ ‫َا َب‬ alone. the allies and defeated 79

Du’as during Calamity, Hardship and with regard to Debt Reciting the Great Name of Allah All concerns and hardships will go away if this verses is recited with firm belief. ‫ٌ ا ِﺣ ٌﺪ‬ ْ‫َاِ ﻬُ ُﻜﻢ‬ َ‫َﻵ اِ ﻪ‬ there is not true God only one God And your God is ‫اﻟ ْﺣ ٰﻤ ُﻦ اﻟ ِﺣﻴْﻢُ ۝‬ ‫اِﻻ ﻫُ َﻮ‬ (Surah Al-Baqarah: most Merciful. who is the most Gracious except Him 163) ُ‫اَ ُ َﻵ اِ ﻪَ اِﻻ ﻫُ َﻮ اﻟْ َﺤﻰ اﻟْﻘَﻴ ْﻮم‬ (Surah Al-Baqarah: the sustainer the ever living, but He, there is no God Allah 255) of all that exists, ‫اِﻻ ﻫُ َﻮ اﻟْ َﺤﻰ‬ َ‫ا ﻢ ۝ اَ ُ َﻵ اِ ﻪ‬ ُ‫اﻟْﻘَﻴ ْﻮم‬ the Sustainer of who is but He there is no God Allah Alif Laam Meem. all that exists. Ever-living (Surah Aal-e-Imran: 01) ‫َﻋَﻨَ ِﺖ اﻟْ ُ ُﺟ ْهُ ﻟِﻠْ َﺤ ِّﻰ‬ Ǥِ‫اﻟْﻘَﻴ ْﻮم‬ the sustainer of all that exists. before the ever living, and the faces will be humbled (Surah Taaha: 111, Mustadrak Hakim: 1866) Ǥ‫َﻵ اِ ﻪَ اِﻻ اَﻧ َﺖ ُﺳﺒ ٰﺤﻨَ َﻚ اِﻧِ ْﻰ ُﻨ ُﺖ ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟﻈﻠِ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ‬ among the wrongdoers. Indeed I was Your are glorified. except You, There is no God ‫ ﺑِﺄ َﻧ َﻚ اﻟْ َا ِﺣ ُﺪ‬،ُ َ ‫(أ َ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ ﻳَﺎ ا‬Surah Al-Ambiyaa: 82, Tirmidhi: 3505, Mustadrak Hakim: 505,506/1) ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ the One because You are O Allah, I ask You Indeed I ،O‫ ُﺪ‬A‫ َﺣ‬llaَ ‫ﻷ‬hْ! ‫ا‬ ،‫ﻟَﻢْ َﻠِﺪ َﻟَﻢْ ُ ْﻟَﺪ‬ ‫اﻟ ِﺬ ْى‬ ‫اﻟﺼ َﻤ ُﺪ‬ ‫ أ َنْ ﺗَﻐْﻔِ َ ﻟِ ْﻰ‬،‫ﻛُﻔُ ًا أ َ َﺣ ٌﺪ‬and nor is He begotten, neither begetswhoٗ‫َﻟَﻢْ َ ُﻜ ْﻦ ﻟﻪ‬the self sufficient, the alone, You forgive me that anyone, ‫ َﺖ‬e‫ﻧ‬qَu‫أ‬al to Him and there is not Ǥُ‫اﻟ ِﺣﻴْﻢ‬ ُ ‫اﻟْﻐَﻔُ ْﻮ‬ ‫إِﻧ َﻚ‬ ،‫ذُﻧُ ْﻮﺑِ ْﻰ‬ the most merciful. (are) the oft-forgiving You (only) Indeed You are my sins. (Nasa'i: 1302) 80

،‫ ﺑِﺄَن ﻟَ َﻚ اﻟْ َﺤﻤْ َﺪ‬،‫اَ إِﻧِ ْﻰ أَ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ‬ (are) all praises & thanks, for You because I ask You, Indeed I O Allah! ‫َﻻ اِ ﻪَ اِﻻ اَﻧ َﺖ‬ ،‫َ ْﺣ َﺪ َك َﻻ َﺷ ِﻳْ َﻚ ﻟَ َﻚ‬ ،‫ﻳَﺎ َ ِﺪﻳْ َﻊ اﻟﺴﻤٰ ٰ ِت َا ْﻷَ ْ ِض‬to You, there is no God there is no partner You are alone, except You, ُ‫اَﻟْ َﻤﻨﺎن‬ and the earth, the heavens O Originator of You are the benefactor ،ُ‫ﻳَﺎ ﻗَﻴ ْﻮم‬ ‫ ﻳَﺎ َﺣﻰ‬،ِ‫ﻳَﺎ ذَا اﻟْ َﺠ َﻼ ِ َا ْ ِﻹﻛْ َام‬ O Sustainer (of all that exists), ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ أَ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ اﻟْ َﺠﻨﺔَ َأَﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟﻨﺎر‬Ǥ O Ever-Living & generosity, O possessor of Glory from the fire. in You and I seek refuge the paradise I ask You Indeed I ‫ ﺑِﺄ َﻧِ ْﻰ أ َ ْﺷ َﻬ ُﺪ أ َﻧ َﻚ‬،‫(أ َ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ‬Ibn Majah: 3858, Abu Dawood: 792, Musnad Ahmad: 12611) ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ that You ‫ا َ ْﻷ َ َﺣ ُﺪ‬I bear witness because I ask You, ،ُ ‫أ َﻧ َﺖ اﷲ‬Indeed I O Allah! ‫اﻟﺼ َﻤ ُﺪ‬ ،‫اِﻻ اَﻧ َﺖ‬ َ‫َﻻ اِ ﻪ‬ ‫ﻛُﻔُ ًا أ َ َﺣ ٌﺪ‬the Self sufficient, the Alone except You, there is no God Allah, You are Ǥ ٗ‫ َﻟَﻢْ َ ُﻜ ْﻦ ﻟﻪ‬،‫اﻟ ِﺬ ْى ﻟَﻢْ َﻠِﺪ َﻟَﻢْ ُ ْﻟَﺪ‬ any one. equal to Him and there is not & nor begotten, did not beget who (Tirmidhi: 3475) 81

The beautiful names of Allah ( ٰ‫)أَ ْﺳ َﻤﺎءُ ا ِ اﻟْ ُﺤ ْﺴﻨ‬ ُ َ‫ا‬ ‫اﻟ ْﺣ ٰﻤ ُﻦ اﻟ ِﺣﻴْﻢُ اﻟْ َﻤﻠِ ُﻚ اﻟْﻘُﺪ ْ ُس‬ the Holy the King the Most Merciful the Most Gracious Allah ُ ‫اﻟْ َﺠﺒﺎ‬ ‫اﻟْﻌَ ِﻳْ ُﺰ‬ ‫اﻟﺴ َﻼمُ اﻟْ ُﻤ ْ ِﻣ ُﻦ اﻟْ ُﻤﻬَﻴْ ِﻤ ُﻦ‬ the Compeller the All-Mighty the Watcher over His the Giver of the One Free creatures security from all defects Ǥُ ‫اﻟْ ُﻤ َﺼ ِّﻮ‬ ِ ‫اﻟْ َﺨﺎﻟِ ُﻖ اﻟْﺒَﺎ‬ ُ ِّ‫اﻟْ ُﻤﺘَ َﻜﺒ‬ the Bestower of forms. the Inventor of all things the Creator the Supreme  ‫اَ ْ ِﻹ ﻪُ ا ْﻷَ َﺣ ُﺪ ا ْﻷَﻛْ َمُ ا ْﻷَﻋْ ٰﲆ‬ the Highest the Most Honored the One/alone the َG‫ﻷ‬oْ d‫ا‬ ‫اﻟْﺒَﺎ ِﻃ ُﻦ‬ ُ ِ‫اﻟﻈﺎﻫ‬ ُ ‫ا ْﻵ ِﺧ‬ ُ‫ل‬ the Hidden. the Clear the Last the First َ‫اﻟْﺒَ ِﺼﻴْ ُ اﻟْﺒ‬ ُ‫اﻟْ َﺠ َا ُد اﻟْ َﺠ ِﻤﻴْﻞ‬ ‫اﻟﺘ ا ُب‬ the Beautiful the Bestower the One Who the Most the All-Seer of good accepts repentance repeatedly benevolent ُ ْ‫اﻟْ َﺤﻴِﻰ اﻟْ َﺤ ِﻜﻴْﻢُ اﻟﻠ ِﻄﻴْ ُﻒ اﻟْ َﺨﺒِﻴ‬ the All-knower the subtle / the Courteous the All-Wise the Modest ُ‫اﻟْ َﺤﻰ اﻟْﻘَﻴ ْﻮم‬ ‫اﻟْ َﺤ ِﻤﻴْ ُﺪ‬ ُ‫اﻟْ َﺤﻠِﻴْﻢ‬ the Ever-Living the Sustainer of all that exists ‫اﻟْ َﺤﻔِﻴْ ُﻆ اﻟْ َﺤ َﻜﻢُ اﻟْ َﺤﻖ اﻟْ َﺤ ِﺴﻴْ ُﺐ‬Ǥ the Praise worthy the Forbearing one the Sufficer. the True the Judge / the Giver of justice the Care taker / Protector  ‫اﻟ ب‬ ‫اﻟ ءُ ْ ُف‬ ‫اَﻟ ﻗِﻴْ ُﺐ‬ the Rabb & Cherisher the Gracious the One who watches ‫اﻟ ا ُق اﻟﺴﺒ ْ ُح اﻟ ِّﺴﺘِّﻴْ ُ اﻟﺴ ِﻤﻴْ ُﻊ‬ ‫اﻟ ﻓِﻴْ ُﻖ اﻟ ا ِ ُق‬ the the One Characterized the the Best of the All-Hearer by concealment the Perfect All-Provider sustainers All–Kind 82

ُ‫اﻟْ َﻜ ِﻳْﻢ‬ ‫اﻟْ َﺨﻼ ُق اﻟْﻌَﻠِﻴْﻢُ اﻟﺴﻴِّ ُﺪ‬ the Most Generous ُ ‫اﻟﺸ ُﻜ ْﻮ‬the Master the All-Knower the Supreme Creator Ǥ‫اﻟﺸ ِﻬﻴْ ُﺪ‬ ُ ِ ‫اﻟﺸﺎﻓِ ُﻰ اﻟﺸﺎ‬ the Witness. the Most appreciative the Recognizer & Rewarder of good the Healer  ُ‫اﻟْﻌَﻠِﻰ اﻟْﻌَ ِﻈﻴْﻢ‬ ‫اَﻟﺼﻤَ ُﺪ اﻟﻄﻴِّ ُﺐ‬ ْ‫ُ اﻟْ َﻜﺒِﻴ‬the Most Great the Most High the Pure the Self sufficient ُ ‫اﻟْﻌَﻔُﻮ اﻟْﻐَﻔُ ْﻮ ُ اﻟْﻐَﻔﺎ‬ ُ ‫اﻟْﻐَﻨِﻰ اﻟْﻔَﺘﺎ‬ the Greatest the Opener Free of need the the Most the Oft-Forgiving Forgiving Oft-Pardoning ُ ْ‫اﻟْﻘَﺎدِ ُ اﻟْﻘَ ِﺪﻳ‬ ُ ‫اﻟْﻘَﻬﺎ‬ ُ ِ‫اﻟْﻘَﺎﻫ‬ All Powerful All-Capable the Ever-dominating the Omnipotent ‫اﻟْﺒَﺎ ِﺳ ُﻂ‬ ‫اﻟْﻘَﺎﺑِ ُﺾ‬ ‫اﻟْﻘَ ِى‬ ‫اﻟْﻘَ ِﻳْ ُﺐ‬ the Munificent the One who withholds the All-Strong the Ever-near ‫اﻟْﻤُ ْﺤ ِﺴ ُﻦ اﻟْﻤَ ِﺠﻴْ ُﺪ اﻟْﻤَﻠِﻴْ ُﻚ‬ ِ ‫اﻟْﻤُﺘَﻌَﺎ‬ the King the Glorious the One who is perfect in goodness the Transcendent Ǥ‫اﻟْ َﻤﺘِﻴْ ُﻦ اﻟْ ُﻤﺒِﻴْ ُﻦ اﻟْﻤُﻘِﻴْ ُﺖ اﻟْﻤُ ِﺠﻴْ ُﺐ‬ the Responder. the Sustainer the Manifest Truth the Most Strong  ‫اﻟْ َﻤ ْﻮ ٰﱃ‬ ‫اﻟْﻤَﺎﻟِ ُﻚ‬ ُ ‫اَﻟْ ُﻤﻘﺘَ ِﺪ‬ the Protector the Master and Owner of the Dominion the Competent ُ ْ‫اﻟْﻤُﻘَ ِّﺪمُ اﻟْﻤُ َ ِّﺧ ُ اﻟْ َﻤﻨﺎنُ اﻟْﻤُﻌْ ِﻄ ُﻰ اﻟﻨ ِﺼﻴ‬ the Excellent the Giver the Bestower the one who takes the one who takes Helper of Favors (others) backward, (others) forward, ‫اﻟْ َﻟِﻰ‬ ‫اﻟْ َا ِﺳ ُﻊ‬ ُ ْ‫اﻟْ َا ِﺣ ُﺪ اﻟْ ِﺗ‬ the All-Sufficient the Supporter the One (odd) the One ‫اﻟْ َﻮ ِﻴْﻞُ اﻟْ َﻫﺎ ُب اﻟْ َدُ ْ ُد‬ Ǥ‫اﻟْﻬَﺎدِ ُى‬ the Guide. the Affectionate the Giver of gifts, the Best Disposer of affairs 83

Du’a for relief from the grief and worry َ‫ا‬ ،‫ اِﺑ ُﻦ أَﻣَﺘِ َﻚ‬،‫ اِﺑ ُﻦ ﻋَﺒ ِﺪ َك‬،‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ ﻋَﺒ ُﺪ َك‬ Your she-slave, son of Your he-slave, son of Your slave, Indeed I am O Allah! ،‫ َﻣﺎض ﻓِﻰ ُﺣ ْﻜ ُﻤ َﻚ‬،‫ﻧَﺎ ِﺻﻴَﺘِ ْﻰ ﺑِﻴَ ِﺪ َك‬ ،‫ﻫُ َﻮ ﻟَ َﻚ‬Your command, ‫ ا ْﺳ ٍﻢ‬iّn‫ ِﲁ‬mُ eِ‫ َﻚ ﺑ‬isُ‫ﻠ‬ruَ n‫ﺳ‬nْ inَ‫أ‬g my forelock ،‫ﻋَﺪلٌ ﻓِﻰ ﻗَ َﻀﺎ َك‬is in Your hands, (which) belongs with every I ask You is Your decree, about me of justice name ،‫ أَ ْو أَﻧ َﻟْﺘَﻪٗ ﻓِ ْﻰ ِﺘَﺎﺑِ َﻚ‬،‫َﺳﻤﻴْ َﺖ ﺑِﻪٖ ﻧَﻔْ َﺴ َﻚ‬toYou, ٖ‫ﻪ‬inِ‫ﺑ‬Yo‫ت‬uَ r bْooَ‫ﺛ‬kْ ‫ﺄ‬, َ‫ا ْﺳﺘ‬ You ِ‫أ َو‬sent it do،w‫ﻚ‬nَ ِ‫ﻠْﻘ‬or‫َﺧ‬ ‫ ْﻦ‬Yِ‫ﻣ‬ourself‫ا‬,‫أَ َﺣ ًﺪ‬ with it You ‫أ َ ْو‬named ٗ‫ﻋَﻠﻤْﺘَﻪ‬ ،‫ ْﻰ‬Yoِ‫ﺒ‬uْ‫ﻠ‬keَ‫ﻗ‬pt it exclusively ْ ُ‫ﻘ‬oْ‫ﻟ‬r‫ا‬ َ of Your cr‫ن‬eaَt‫أ‬ion،, ‫ َﺪ َك‬to‫ﻨ‬a‫ ِﻋ‬nyon‫ﺐ‬eِ ْ‫ْﻐَﻴ‬o‫ﻟ‬r‫ا‬Yo‫ِﻢ‬uْ‫ﻠ‬ta‫ِﻋ‬ugh‫ﻰ‬tْ itِ‫ﻓ‬ ‫نَ َﺑِﻴْ َﻊ‬ ‫َﺠﻌَﻞ‬ of my spring / the Qur’an with You, pleasure .‫ َذَﻫَﺎ َب ﻫَ ِﻤ ْﻰ‬،‫ َ َﺟ َﻼءَ ُﺣ ْﻧِ ْﻰ‬،‫َﻧُ ْﻮ َ َﺻﺪ ِ ْى‬heart, that You make in the hidden knowledge my anxiety. and remover of my sorrow, and departure for of my chest, and light ،‫(ﺑِ َﻚ ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟْﻬَ ِﻢ َاﻟْ ُﺤ ْ ِن‬Musnad Ahmad: 3712, Shaik Albany S said it is sahih.) ُ‫أَﻋُ ْذ‬ ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ a،nd‫ ِﻦ‬so‫ﺒ‬rr‫ ُﺠ‬owْ‫ﻟ‬, ‫َا‬ ‫ َاﻟْﺒُ ْﺨ ِﻞ‬،‫َاﻟْﻌَﺠ ِﺰ َاﻟْ َﻜ َﺴ ِﻞ‬from anxiety O Allah! in You I seek refuge Indeed I and cowardice, and miserliness and laziness, and inability Ǥِ ‫اﻟﺪﻳْ ِﻦ َﻏَﻠَﺒَﺔِ اﻟ ِّ َﺟﺎ‬ ‫َ َﺿﻠَ ِﻊ‬ ‫ا َ إِﻧِ ْﻰ أَﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ‬and (from) and (from) the (Bukhari: 6369) the people. of debt burden overpowering by ،‫َاﻟْ َﻜ َﺴ ِﻞ‬ ‫ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟْﻌَﺠ ِﺰ‬ and laziness, from inability in You I seek refuge Indeed I O Allah! Ǥ‫ َاﻟْ َﻬ َمِ َﻋَ َﺬا ِب اﻟْﻘَﺒ ِﺮ‬،‫َاﻟْ ُﺠﺒ ِﻦ َاﻟْﺒُ ْﺨ ِﻞ‬ and (Muslim: 2722) and the torment of grave. and old age miserliness, and cowardice 84

،‫ َو َ ِﺷ َﻒ اﻟْ َﻜ ْ ِب‬،‫ﻓَﺎ ِ َج اﻟْ َﻬ ِﻢ‬ َ‫ا‬ of distress, and the reliever of anxiety, the Remover O Allah! ِ‫ َو َ ْﺣﻤٰ َﻦ اﻟﺪﻧْﻴَﺎ َا ْ ِﺧ َة‬،‫َ ُﻣ ِﺠﻴْ َﺐ اﻟْﻤُ ْﻀ َﻄ ِّﺮﻳْ َﻦ‬ and the Most of those forced by and hereafter of the word benevolent necessity, and responder ً‫ اِ ْ َﺣ ْﻤﻨِﻰ اﻟْﻴَ ْﻮمَ َ ْﺣﻤَﺔً ا ِﺳﻌَﺔ‬،‫َو َ ِﺣﻴْﻤَﻬُ َﻤﺎ‬ an extended mercy this day Have mercy on me and merciful in both of them, .‫ﺗُﻐْﻨِﻴْﻨِ ْﻰ ﺑِ َﻬﺎ ﻋَ ْﻦ ْﺣ َﻤﺔِ َﻣﻦ ِﺳ َا َك‬ (Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaiba: 29866) of those other from the mercy with it that You make me than Yours. free Du’a in Hard times ‫إِﻻ َﻣﺎ‬ َ‫َﻻ َﺳ ْﻬﻞ‬ َ‫ا‬ ،‫َﺟﻌَﻠْﺘَﻪٗ َﺳ ْﻬ ًﻼ‬ easy, You made it what except Nothing is easy ‫ﺖ‬Oَ Al‫ﻧ‬laَ ‫أ‬hَ ! Ǥ‫ﺗَﺠﻌَﻞُ اﻟْ َﺤ ْنَ َﺳ ْﻬ ًﻼ إِذَا ِﺷﺌْ َﺖ‬ (Ibn Hibban: 974) You will. when easy the tough make and You When the plan fails  the Messenger of Allah ᤖ said: A strong believer is better and is more lovable to Allah than a weak believer, and there is good in everyone, (but) cherish that which gives you benefit (in the Hereafter) and seek help from Allah and do not lose heart, and if anything (in the form of trouble) comes to you, don't say: If I had not done that, it would not have happened so and so, but say: ُ‫ﻗَﺪ َ اﷲ‬ Ǥَ‫َﻣَﺎ َﺷﺎءَ ﻓَﻌَﻞ‬ He did. and what He willed, Allah is decided, Because (the word) \"If\" opens the door for the Shaitan. (Muslim: 2664) ُ ‫ ﻗَﺪ َ ا‬can be read as ِ  ‫ ﻗَ َﺪ ُ ا‬which means ِ ‫( ﻫٰ َﺬا ﻗَ َﺪ ُ ا‬it was the will of Allah). What to say if you saw something that you disliked Ǥٍ ‫ﻋَ ٰﲆ ُ ِﰻّ َﺣﺎ‬ ِ‫ِﷲ‬ ‫اَﻟْ َﺤﻤْ ُﺪ‬ (Ibn Majah: 3803) in all circumstances. are due to Allah All praises and thanks 85

Du’a at uneasiness and anxiety (Restlessness) ،ُ‫اﻟْﻌَ ِﻈﻴْﻢُ اﻟْ َﺤﻠِﻴْﻢ‬ ُ‫إِﻻ اﷲ‬ َ‫َﻻ إِ ﻪ‬ the Ever-Forbearing, Who is the Magnificent but Allah, there is no God ُ‫ َﻻ إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ اﷲ‬،‫َﻻ إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ اﷲُ َب اﻟْﻌَ ْ ِش اﻟْﻌَ ِﻈﻴْ ِﻢ‬ .‫َب اﻟﺴ ٰﻤ ٰ ِت َو َب ا ْﻷ َ ْ ِض َو َب اﻟْﻌَ ْ ِش اﻟْ َﻜ ِﻳْ ِﻢ‬but Allah, there is no God the magnificent throne. the Rabb of but Allah, there is no God and the and the of the of the Noble throne. Rabb of the earth, Rabb heavens the Rabb ،‫ ﻓَ َﻼ َ ِﳫْﻨِ ْﻰ إِ ٰﱃ َﻔْ ِﺴ ْﻰ َﻃ ْﻓَﺔَ ﻋَﻴْ ٍﻦ‬،‫(ا َ َ ْﺣ َﻤﺘَ َﻚ أَ ْ ُﺟ ْﻮ‬Bukhari:6346) even up to the So do not to my self abandon me .‫ َﻻ إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ أَﻧ َﺖ‬،ٗ‫َأَ ْﺻﻠِ ْﺢ ﻟِ ْﻰ َﺷﺄ ْﻧِ ْﻰ ُﳇﻪ‬glimpse of an eye, I look for, Your mercy O Allah! there is no God all of them. my affairs for me and mend (correct) (Abu Dawood: 5090) .‫ا َ ُ ا َ ُ َﺑِّ ْﻰ َﻻ أُ ْﺷ ِ ُك ﺑِﻪٖ َﺷﻴْ ًﺎ‬except You. (Abu Dawood: 1525) anything. with Him I do not associate is my Rabb, Allah Allah, Du’a when feeling pain in body  the Messenger of Allah ᤖ said: Place your hand at the place where you feel pain in your body and say Bismillah (in the name of Allah) three times and sِ‫ذ‬e‫ﺎ‬v‫ﺣ‬eَ nُ‫َأ‬times‫( ُﺪ‬t‫ِﺟ‬heَ‫أ‬ following Du’a): ‫َﻗُﺪ‬ ُ‫أَﻋُ ْذ‬ Ǥُ ‫ٖ ﻣِﻦ َﺷ ِّﺮ ﻣَﺎ‬ ‫َﺗِﻪ‬ ِ‫ﺑِﺎﷲ‬ (Muslim: 2202) and I fear. what I feel from the and in His in Allah I seek refuge evil of power Du’a to become debt-free ،‫ﻋَ ْﻦ َﺣ َا ِﻣ َﻚ‬ ‫ﺑِ َﺤ َﻼﻟِ َﻚ‬ ‫ا ْﻔِﻨِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ O Allah! against Your prohibited things, with Your lawful (Halal things) Suffice me ‫َأَﻏْﻨِﻨِ ْﻰ ﺑِﻔَ ْﻀﻠِ َﻚ ﻋَﻤﻦ ِﺳ َا َك‬Ǥ ‫ َاﻟْﻌَﺠ ِﺰ‬،‫(ا َ إ ِﻧِ ْﻰ أ َﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟْﻬَ ِﻢ َاﻟْ ُﺤ ْ ِن‬Tirmidhi: 3563) from all those besides You. with Your grace and make me self sufficient and inability, and sorrow, from the anxiety in You I seek refuge Indeed I O Allah! 86

Ǥِ ‫ َ َﺿﻠَ ِﻊ اﻟﺪﻳْ ِﻦ َﻏَﻠَﺒَﺔِ اﻟ ِّ َﺟﺎ‬،‫ َاﻟْﺒُ ْﺨ ِﻞ َاﻟْ ُﺠﺒ ِﻦ‬،‫َاﻟْ َﻜ َﺴ ِﻞ‬ and (from) and (from) and and the people. overpowering by of debt the burden cowardice, miserliness, and laziness, (Bukhari: 6369) ‫ﻣِ ْﻦ ﻋَ َﺬا ِب‬ ‫ﺑِ َﻚ‬ ُ‫أَﻋُ ْذ‬ ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ ،‫اﻟْﻘَﺒ ِﺮ‬ of the grave, from the torment in You I seek refuge ُ‫َأ َﻋُ ْذ‬Indeed IO Allah! ،ِ ‫اﻟْ َﻤ ِﺴﻴْ ِﺢ اﻟﺪﺟﺎ‬ ِ‫ﺑِ َﻚ ﻣِﻦ ﻓِﺘْﻨَﺔ‬ ،‫ َﻤﺎ ِت‬of‫ َﻤ‬Mْ‫ﻟ‬a‫ا‬sَih Dajja‫ﺎ‬aَ‫ﻴ‬l,‫اﻟْ َﻤ ْﺤ‬ from the trial in You ُ‫َأ َﻋُ ْذ‬and I seek refuge ِ‫ﺑِ َﻚ ﻣِﻦ ﻓِﺘْﻨَﺔ‬ and the death, ‫ َﻤﻐ‬oْ‫ﻟ‬f‫ا‬tَhe ‫ﻢ‬lِifeَ‫اﻟْﻤَﺄ ْﺛ‬ from the trial ُ‫أَﻋُ ْذ‬in You and I seek refuge ْ .ِ‫َم‬ ‫ﺑِ َﻚ ﻣِ ْﻦ‬ ‫اَ إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ and from the I seek debt. from the sins in You refuge Indeed I O Allah! ‫(َو َب ا ْﻷ َ ْ ِض‬Muslim: 589) ‫اﻟﺴ ٰﻤ ٰ ِت اﻟﺴﺒ ِﻊ‬ ‫َب‬ َ‫ا‬ of the earth and the Rabb of the seven Heavens the Rabb O Allah, ‫ َﺑﻨَﺎ‬،‫َو َب اﻟْﻌَ ْ ِش اﻟْﻌَ ِﻈﻴْ ِﻢ‬ ،‫َو َب ُ ِﰻّ َﺷ ْﻰ ٍء‬ the magnificent throne, and the Rabb of ‫ َﻣُﻨ ِلَ اﻟﺘ ْﻮ َاةِ َا ْ ِﻹﻧ ِﺠﻴْ ِﻞ‬،‫ﻓَﺎﻟِ َﻖ اﻟْ َﺤ ِّﺐ َاﻟﻨ ٰى‬of everything, and the Rabb our Rabb ‫ أ َﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ ِﻣﻦ َﺷ ِّﺮ ُ ِﰻّ َﺷ ْﻰ ٍء‬،‫َاﻟْﻔُ ْﻗَﺎ ِن‬and the Bible of the Torah and the Sender and the seeds, of grains the Splitter ُ‫ ا َ أَﻧ َﺖ ا ْﻷ َ ل‬،ٖ‫أَﻧ َﺖ ِﺧﺬ ﺑِﻨَﺎ ِﺻﻴَﺘِﻪ‬of everything from the evil in You I seek refuge and the criterion, You are ‫ َأَﻧ َﺖ ا ْ ِﺧ ُ ﻓَﻠَﻴْ َﺲ‬،ٌ‫ﻓَﻠَﻴْ َﺲ ﻗَﺒﻠَ َﻚ َﺷ ْﻰء‬the First O Allah! by its forelocks. are the one who holds (it) You ،ٌ‫ َأ َﻧ َﺖ اﻟﻈﺎﻫِ ُ ﻓَﻠَﻴْ َﺲ ﻓَ ْﻗَ َﻚ َﺷ ْﻰء‬،ٌ‫ﺑَﻌْ َﺪ َك َﺷ ْﻰء‬thus there is none the Last and You are anything, before You thus there is none ،ٌ‫َأ َﻧ َﺖ اﻟْﺒَﺎ ِﻃ ُﻦ ﻓ َﻠَﻴْ َﺲ دُ ْﻧَ َﻚ َﺷ ْﻰء‬anything, above You thus there is not the Most High & You are anything, after You anything, hidden from You thus there is not the Most Near and You are 87

Ǥ‫اِﻗ ِﺾ ﻋَﻨﺎ اﻟﺪﻳْ َﻦ َأَﻏْﻨِﻨَﺎ ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟْﻔَﻘ ِﺮ‬ (Muslim: 2713) from poverty. and relieve us the debt from us Remove Du’a at the time of paying back the debt ُ‫ﺑَﺎ َ َك اﷲ‬ ،‫ﻟَ َﻚ ﻓِ ْﻰ أَﻫْﻠِ َﻚ َﻣَﺎﻟِ َﻚ‬ ُ‫َا ْﻷ َدَاء‬and (in) your wealth, ‫اﻟْ َﺤ ْﻤ ُﺪ‬in your family [to] you‫اﻟﺴﻠَ ِﻒ‬Mُ‫ء‬ay‫َا‬ Allah bless Ǥ ‫َﺟ‬ ‫إِﻧ َﻤﺎ‬ and paying back. praise and thanks the reward for lending is only (Ibn Majah: 2424, Al-Sunan Al-Kubra Lin Nasa'i: 10204) Du’a at the time of loss or any calamity ،َ‫إِﻧﺎ ِﷲِ َوإِﻧﺎ إِﻟَﻴْﻪِ َا ِﺟﻌُ ْن‬ returners. (are) to Him ‫ﻠِ ْﻒ‬a‫ﺧ‬nْ dَ‫أ‬iَndee‫ْﻰ‬d wِ‫ﺘ‬eَ‫ ِﺼﻴْﺒ‬be‫ُﻣ‬long‫ ْﻰ‬toِ‫ﻓ‬A‫ﻰ‬lْlahِ‫ْﻧ‬ ‫ا َ أ ْ ُﺟ‬Indeed we .‫ًا ﻣِﻨْ َﻬﺎ‬ ْ‫ﻟِ ْﻰ َﺧﻴ‬ (Muslim: 918) than it. better for me and replace (it) in my hardship Give me O Allah! reward Du’a on seeing an afflicted person ‫اﻟْ َﺤ ْﻤ ُﺪ‬ ،ٖ‫ِﷲِ اﻟ ِﺬ ْى ﻋَﺎﻓَﺎﻧِ ْﻰ ِﻣﻤﺎ اﺑﺘَ َﻼ َك ﺑِﻪ‬ which afflicted You from that has protected me who are due to Allah All praises and thanks Ǥ‫َﻓَﻀﻠَﻨِ ْﻰ ﻋَ ٰﲆ َﺜِﻴْ ٍﺮ ِﻣﻤ ْﻦ َﺧﻠَ َﻖ ﺗَﻔْ ِﻀﻴْ ًﻼ‬ (with a clear) preference. He created of those over many and preferred me (Tirmidhi: 3431) Du’a at the time of confusion ُ ‫( َﻻ إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ اﷲ‬Bukhari: 3346) Du’a at the time of Anger ُ‫أَﻋُ ْذ‬ Ǥ‫ﺑِﺎﷲِ ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟﺸﻴْ َﻄﺎ ِن اﻟ ِﺟﻴْ ِﻢ‬ (Bukhari: 3346) the rejected one / outcast. from Shaitan in Allah I seek refuge Du’a t the time of meeting an enemy & the people in power ،ْ‫ﻧَﺠﻌَﻠُ َﻚ ﻓِ ْﻰ ُ ُﺤ ْﻮ ِﻫِﻢ‬ ‫إِﻧﺎ‬ َ‫ا‬ against them (their throats), we make You (a shield) Indeed we ُ‫ْذ‬ O Allah! .ْ‫ﺑِ َﻚ ﻣِﻦ ُﺷ ُ ْو ِﻫِﻢ‬ ُ‫َﻧَﻌ‬ (Abu Dawood: 1537) from their mischiefs / evils. in You and we seek refuge 88

،‫أَﻧ َﺖ ﻋَ ُﻀ ِﺪ ْى َأَﻧ َﺖ ﻧَ ِﺼﻴْ ِ ْى‬ َ‫ا‬ ُ‫َوﺑِ َﻚ أ ُﻗَﺎﺗِﻞ‬are my supporter,and You ‫ ُﺻ‬aَ‫أ‬re my arm You ‫أَ ُﺟ‬ O Allah! Ǥ ُ‫ْل‬ ‫َوﺑِ َﻚ‬ ُ‫ْل‬ ‫ﺑِ َﻚ‬ and with and with I get around with Your I fight. Your support I attack Your support (roam) help (Abu Dawood: 2632) َ‫َﻧِﻌْﻢ‬ ُ‫َﺣ ْﺴﺒُﻨَﺎ اﷲ‬ Ǥُ‫اﻟْ َﻮ ِﻴْﻞ‬ Disposer of affairs. and what a superb Allah is sufficient for us (Bukhari: 4563) Du’a when you fear the tyrant ruler ،‫اَ َب اﻟﺴﻤٰ ٰ ِت اﻟﺴﺒ ِﻊ َو َب اﻟْﻌَ ْ ِش اﻟْﻌَ ِﻈﻴْ ِﻢ‬ the magnificent throne, and the Rabb of the seven Heavens the Rabb of O Allah, ‫ﻛُ ْﻦ ﻟِّ ْﻰ َﺟﺎ ًا ﻣِﻦ ﻓُ َﻼ ِن ِﻦ ﻓُ َﻼ ٍن‬ fo me ‫ أ َنْ ﻳﻔْ ُ َط‬،‫أ َ ْﺣ َاﺑِﻪٖ ِﻣ ْﻦ َﺧ َﻼ ِﻘِ َﻚ‬against so and so… (take his name here) protector become ‫(أ َ ْو‬for) that and their allies does excess ْ‫ﻋَﻠَﻰ أ َ َﺣ ٌﺪ ِﻣﻨْ ُﻬﻢ‬amongst Your Creations, ، ٰ‫ﻳَﻄﻐ‬ ‫إ ِﻻ أ َﻧ َﺖ‬transgresses. or among them anyone against me ،‫ﻋَﺰ َﺟﺎ ُ َك َ َﺟﻞ َﻨَﺎ َك‬ Ǥ َ‫َ َﻻ إِ ﻪ‬ except You. and there is no God and Your praise is great, Your refuge is strong (Al-Adab Al-Mufrad: 707) ‫اَ ُ أَﻋَﺰ‬ ،ُ َ‫اَ ُ أَﻛْﺒ‬ ،‫ﻣِ ْﻦ َﺧﻠْﻘِﻪٖ َﺟ ِﻤﻴْﻌًﺎ‬ ،ُ ‫أَ َﺧﺎ ُف َأَ ْﺣ َﺬ‬all of them, is mightier ‫ا َ ُ أ َﻋَﺰ‬Allah Allah is the greatest than His Creations ‫ِﻣﻤﺎ‬ and I am watchful of, I am scared of than what is mightier ُ‫أَﻋُ ْذ‬Aَllah ‫ اَﻟْ ُﻤﻤْ ِﺴ ِﻚ‬،‫ﺑِﺎﷲِ اﻟ ِﺬى َﻻ إِ ﻪَ إِﻻ ﻫُ َﻮ‬ t،heٖ‫ﻪ‬oِ‫ﻧ‬nْ‫ذ‬e w‫ﺑِ ِﺈ‬ho holds ‫ض‬bِutْHَe‫ﻷ‬,ْ ‫َﻰ ا‬t‫ﻠ‬hَ‫ﻋ‬ere is n‫َﻦ‬o Gْ‫ﻌ‬oَ‫ﻘ‬d‫ﻳ‬ ْ‫اﻟﺴﻤٰ ٰ ِت اﻟﺴﺒ ِﻊ أ َن‬who in Allah and I seek refuge with His ‫إِﻻ‬ (lest) permission, that except on the earth they fall down the seven Heavens 89

ٖ‫ﻣِﻦ َﺷ ِّﺮ ﻋَﺒ ِﺪ َك ﻓُ َﻼ ٍن ُﺟﻨُ ْدِهٖ َأَﺗْﺒَﺎ ِﻋﻪ‬ from the evil ‫ ا َ ﻛُ ْﻦ ﻟِّ ْﻰ‬،‫َأَ ْﺷﻴَﺎ ِﻋﻪٖ ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟْ ِﺠ ِﻦ َا ْ ِﻹﻧ ِﺲ‬and from his followers and from his army of Your so and so slave for me Become O Allah! and among the among the Jinns and from his human beings, companions ،‫ َ َﺟﻞ ﺛَﻨَﺎ َك َﻋَﺰ َﺟﺎ ُ َك‬،ْ‫َﺟﺎ ًا ِﻣﻦ َﺷ ِّﻫِﻢ‬ Your from a protector protection, and strong is Your praise and great is their evils, (neighbor) ‫َ َﻻ إِ ﻪَ ﻏَﻴْ ُ َك‬Ǥ ‫َﺗَﺒَﺎ َ َك ا ْﺳﻤُ َﻚ‬ other than You. and there is no God Your name, and blessed is Recite this 3 Times. (Al-Adab Al-Mufrad: 707) Du’a to seek the protection of Allah ً‫َاﻗِﻴَﺔ‬ َ‫ا‬ .‫ﻛَ َاﻗِﻴَﺔِ اﻟْ َﻟِﻴْ ِﺪ‬ (Musnad Shahab:  1368) of a new born like the protection Protect me O Allah! Du’a to seek strength, honor and wealth ،‫ﻓَﻘَ ِّﻧِ ْﻰ‬ ‫َﺿﻌِﻴْ ٌﻒ‬ ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ .‫ٌ ﻓَﺄ َﻏﻨِﻨِ ْﻰ‬so give me strength, ْ‫ﻓَﻘِﻴ‬ weak In‫ ِﻋ‬dَ ‫ﺄ‬eَe‫ﻓ‬d I am O Allah! ‫َوإِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ ،‫ﻧِ ْﻰ‬ ٌ‫ذَﻟِﻴْﻞ‬ ‫َوإِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ so make me self needy and Indeed I so honor me, humiliated and Indeed I sufficient am am (Al-Mu’jam Al-Ausat: 6759) Du’a while fearing an attack from enemy َ‫ا‬ ،‫ َﻓَ ْﻀﻠِ َﻚ‬،‫ َو َ ْﺣ َﻤﺘِ َﻚ‬،‫اﺑ ُﺴﻂ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻨَﺎ ﻣِ ْﻦ َ َ َ ﺗِ َﻚ‬ and from Your and from Your Spread O Allah! mercy, ،َ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ أَ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ اﻟﻨﻌِﻴْﻢَ اﻟْﻤُﻘِﻴْﻢ‬grace, َ‫ ا‬،‫َورِ ْﻗِ َﻚ‬ from Your blessings, over us (that is) Ever- Bliss I ask You Indeed I O Allah! and from Your (delight) provision. ‫ َﻚ‬lُ‫ﻠ‬asَ tin‫ ْﺳ‬g,َ ‫أ‬ َ‫ ا‬،ُ‫اَﻟ ِﺬ ْى َﻻ َ ُﺤ ْلُ َ َﻻ َ ُﺰ ْل‬ ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ I ask You Indeed I O Allah! and will not end. will not change which 90

‫ اَ إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬،‫ َا ْﻷَﻣْ َﻦ ﻳَ ْﻮمَ اﻟْ َﺨ ْ ِف‬،ِ‫اﻟﻨﻌِﻴْﻢَ ﻳَ ْﻮمَ اﻟْﻌَﻴْﻠَﺔ‬ ،‫ﻋَﺎ ِ ٌﺬ ﺑِ َﻚ ِﻣﻦ َﺷ ِّﺮ ﻣَﺎ أ َﻋْ َﻄﻴْﺘَﻨَﺎ َ َﺷ ِّﺮ ﻣَﺎ َﻣﻨَﻌْ َﺖ‬Indeed I O Allah! on the day of fear, and security on the day of poverty, the bliss that You have and from the that You have given from the evil stopped. in You seeking refuge evil of us of ،‫َﺣﺒِّﺐ إِﻟَﻴْﻨَﺎ ا ْ ِﻹﻳْ َﻤﺎنَ َوزَﻳِّﻨْﻪُ ﻓِ ْﻰ ﻗُﻠُ ْﻮﺑِﻨَﺎ‬ َ‫ا‬ ،َ‫اﻟْ ُﻜﻔْ َ َاﻟْﻔُ ُﺴ ْ َق َاﻟْﻌِ ْﺼﻴَﺎن‬in our hearts, and adorn it the Iman (belief), to us Make dear O Allah! ‫إِﻟَﻴْﻨَﺎ‬ ْ‫َو َ ِّﺮه‬ and the disobedience, and the defiance the disbelief for us and make hateful َ‫ ا‬،‫َاﺟﻌَﻠْﻨَﺎ ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟ ا ِﺷ ِﺪﻳْ َﻦ‬ ،‫ﺗَ َﻓﻨَﺎ ُﻣ ْﺴﻠِ ِﻤﻴْ َﻦ‬ as Muslims, Cause us to ْd‫ﻴ‬iَe‫ ِﺤﻴْ َﻦﻏ‬O ِA‫ﻟ‬l‫ﺎ‬la‫ﺼ‬h! ‫ﺑِﺎﻟ‬a‫ﺎ‬mَ‫ﻨ‬o‫ﻘ‬ng‫ ِﺤ‬thْ‫ﻟ‬eَ‫أ‬gَ ui،de‫ َﻦ‬dْ‫ﻴ‬on‫ ِﻤ‬esِ‫ﻠ‬,‫ ْﺴ‬a‫ ُﻣ‬nd‫ﺎ‬mَ‫ِﻨ‬a‫ﻴ‬k‫ْﺣ‬e uَ‫أ‬sَ .‫َ َﻻ َﻣﻔْﺘُ ْﻧِﻴْ َﻦ‬ ‫َﺧ َاﻳَﺎ‬ َ and not those under not with with the righteous and join us as Muslims, and make trial. humiliated people us live (Musnad Ahmad: 15066) once Du’a for the enemy's defeat َ‫ا‬ ،‫ َﺳ ِﻳْ َﻊ اﻟْ ِﺤ َﺴﺎ ِب‬،‫ﻣُﻨ ِلَ اﻟْ ِﻜﺘَﺎ ِب‬ in taking account, Swift Book, ،‫ب‬Rَ eve‫ا‬aَ le‫ ْﺣ‬r oَ ‫ﻷ‬fْ th‫ا‬e O Allah! Ǥْ‫َو َﻟْ ِﻟْﻬُﻢ‬ ْ‫اﻫْ ِﻣْﻬُﻢ‬ َ‫ا‬ ِ‫اِﻫْ ِﺰم‬ and shake them. defeat them O Allah! the (opposing) allies. defeat (Muslim: 1742) 91

Du’as to escape from evil and seeking good Du’a to seek refuge from the evil / mischief of the people Ǥ‫ﺑِﻤَﺎ ِﺷﺌْ َﺖ‬ ْ‫ا ْﻔِﻨِﻴْ ِﻬﻢ‬ َ‫ا‬ (Muslim: 3005) You like. with what Protect me from them O Allah! To seek refuge from the evil of own-self َ‫ا‬ ‫ َﻣِﻦ َﺷ ِّﺮ‬،‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ أَﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ ﻣِﻦ َﺷ ِّﺮ َﺳ ْﻤﻌِ ْﻰ‬ and from the evil of my ears, from the evil in You I seek refuge Indeed I O Allah! Ǥ‫ َ ِﻣﻦ َﺷ ِّﺮ ﻣَﻨِﻴِّ ْﻰ‬،‫ َﻣِﻦ َﺷ ِّﺮ ﻗَﻠْﺒِ ْﻰ‬،‫ َ ِﻣﻦ َﺷ ِّﺮﻟِ َﺴﺎﻧِ ْﻰ‬،‫ﺑَ َﺼ ِ ْى‬ and from the of my and from the of my and from the of my ill desires. evil heart, evil tongue, evil of my eyes, (Abu Dawood: 1551, Nasa'i: 5456) ‫اﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ ‫َﺧ ِﻄﻴْﺌَﺘِ ْﻰ َ َﺟﻬْﻠِ ْﻰ َوإِ ْﺳ َاﻓِ ْﻰ‬ and my & my ignorance my errors Forgive me O Allah! extravagance ٖ‫ﻓِ ْﻰ أَ ْﻣ ِ ْى َ َﻣﺎ أَﻧ َﺖ أَﻋْﻠَﻢُ ﺑِﻪ‬ ،‫ﻣِﻨِ ْﻰ‬ than me, of that more aware You are and what In my affairs ،‫ َ َﺧ َﻄ ْﻰ َﻋَ ْﻤ ِﺪ ْى‬،‫اَ اﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟِ ْﻰ ِﺟ ِّﺪ ْى َﻫَ ْﻟِ ْﻰ‬ & my deliberate and my faults and my fun, my seriousness Forgive me O Allah! intentions, ‫اﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ ﻟِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ ا‬،‫ذَﻟِ َﻚ ِﻋﻨ ِﺪ ْى‬ ُ ‫َو‬ ،‫ﺖ‬Fُ org‫ﻨ‬ivَ‫ﻠ‬eْ‫ﻋ‬mَe‫َ َﻣﺎ أ‬ O Allah! َ ‫أ َ ْﺳ‬fro‫ﺎ‬m‫َ َﻣ‬me, ،‫ﺧ ْ ُت‬tَh‫أ‬at‫ﺎ‬i‫َﻣ‬s َ and all ‫ْ ُت‬ ‫َﻣﺎ ﻗَﺪ ْﻣ ُﺖ‬ and what I did and what I what I privately committed after, sent forth ،‫َ َﻣﺎ أَ ْﺳ َﻓْ ُﺖ َ َﻣﺎ أَﻧ َﺖ أَﻋْﻠَﻢُ ﺑِﻪٖ ﻣِﻨِ ْﻰ‬and what I did in public ٌ than me, ‫َﺷ ْﻰ ٍء‬ of it ‫ﻋَ ٰﲆ‬You‫ َﺖ‬are‫ﻧ‬mَ ‫َأ‬ore aware and w‫َﺖ‬hat‫َأ َﻧ‬and what I did in e‫َﺖ‬xce‫ﻧ‬ssَ ‫أ‬ ْ‫ﻗَ ِﺪﻳ‬ ّ‫ُ ِﰻ‬ ،ُ ‫َ ِّﺧ‬ ‫اﻟْ ُﻤ‬ ُ‫اﻟْﻤُﻘَ ِّﺪم‬ All-powerful. over every thing and You and Your are the one who You are the one (Bukhari: 2398, Muslim: 2719) are takes (others) backward, who takes (others) forward 92

‫ﺑِ َﻚ ﻣِﻦ َﺷ ِّﺮ‬ ُ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ أَﻋُ ْذ‬ َ‫ا‬ ْ‫أ َﻋْ َﻤﻞ‬from the evil of in You I seek refuge Indeed I O Allah! ‫َﻣﺎ ﻋَ ِﻤﻠْ ُﺖ َ ِﻣﻦ َﺷ ِّﺮ‬ ْ‫َﻣﺎ ﻟَﻢ‬ I did not commit. what and from the evil of what I have committed (Muslim: 2716) ،‫أَﻋُ ْذُ ِ َﻚ ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟْﻌَﺠ ِﺰ َاﻟْ َﻜ َﺴ ِﻞ‬ ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ ‫َاﻟْﺒُ ْﺨ ِﻞ‬ O Allah! a،nِ‫ﺔ‬dَ‫ﻨ‬m‫ﻜ‬iَ ser‫ﺴ‬lْine‫ َﻤ‬ssْ‫َاﻟ‬ ِ‫ َاﻟ ِّﺬﻟﺔ‬،ِ‫َاﻟْﻘَ ْﺴ َةِ َاﻟْﻐَﻔْﻠَﺔ‬and laziness, from the inability I seek refuge in You Indeed I َ‫َاﻟْﻬ‬ ،ِ‫َم‬ and cruelty / hard and destitution, and heedlessness, heartedness and old age, ‫ َاﻟ ِّﺸ ْ ِك‬،‫َأَﻋُ ْذُ ِ َﻚ ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟْﻔَﻘ ِﺮ َاﻟْ ُﻜﻔْ ِﺮ‬and disgrace ،‫َاﻟﻨِﻔَﺎ ِق‬ and shirk (associating partners with Allah) ،‫ َأَﻋُ ْذُ ِ َﻚ ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟﺼ َﻤ ِﻢ َاﻟْﺒَ َﻜ ِﻢ‬،ِ‫َاﻟﺴ ْﻤﻌَﺔِ َاﻟ ِّﺮﻳَﺎء‬and hypocrisy,and disbelief,from poverty and I seek refuge in You and want of fame (reputation) .ِ‫َاﻟْ ُﺠﻨُ ْ ِن َاﻟْﺒَ َ ِص َاﻟْ ُﺠ َﺬامِ َ َﺳﻴِّ ا ْﻷَ ْﺳﻘَﺎم‬and dumbness, from deafness and I seek refuge in You and show-off, and all bad diseases. and leprosy and leukederma* and madness (Sahih Ibn Hibban: 1023) * Leukoderma (‫)ﺑ ص‬: A disease in which white/black/red spots appear on body. Du’a to save oneself from ill-fate & calamities َ‫ا‬ ،ِ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ أَﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ ِﻣﻦ َﺟ ْﻬ ِﺪ اﻟْﺒَ َﻼء‬ from the difficulties of severe calamities, ‫ َ َﺷﻤَﺎﺗَﺔِ ا ْﻷَﻋْ َﺪا ِء‬،‫ َ ُﺳ ْ ِء اﻟْﻘَ َﻀﺎ ِء‬،ِ‫َدَ َ ِك اﻟﺸﻘَﺎء‬Ǥ in You I seek refuge Indeed I O Allah! of the enemies. and malicious joy the decree and evil of misfortunes, and attacks of (Bukhari: 6616) Du’as upon committing the Sin  the Messenger of Allah ᤖ said: When a servant (of Allah) commits a sin, and (feels guilty and) then performs ablution well, and then gets up and prays two rak'ah, and asks pardon of Allah, Allah pardons him. (Abu Dawood: 1521) NOTE: Sincerity is the condition for the acceptance of repentance. It means you have to: B Stop committing the sin for which repentance is sought. 93

C Have regret for the sin. D Have a strong commitment not to repeat the same in future. E If the sin is related to a person, compensate him for the loss. (Riyadh us Saliheen - Chapter Tawbah) Du’as when you get doubts in your faith  Seek refuge in Allah ().  Stop / Avoid those acts wherein you get doubt. (Bukhari: 3276)  and recite these words. (Muslim: 134) Ǥٖ‫ﻣَﻨ ُﺖ ﺑِﺎﷲِ َو ُ ُﺳﻠِﻪ‬ and in His Messengers. in Allah I believed After reciting above words, Read the following: ُ‫ل‬ َ‫ا ْﻷ‬ ‫ﻫُ َﻮ‬ ُ ِ‫َا ْ ِﺧ ُ َاﻟﻈﺎﻫ‬ the Clear Ǥٌ‫ ﻋَﻠِﻴْﻢ‬an‫ٍء‬d t‫ْﻰ‬he‫َﺷ‬Lastّ‫ﺑِ ُ ِﲁ‬ is the First He (Surah Hadeed: 03, Abu ‫َﻫُ َﻮ‬ ‫َاﻟْﺒَﺎ ِﻃ ُﻦ‬ Dawood: 5110) All-Knowing. of everything and He is and the Hidden, Du’a to remain safe from Shirk ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ ‫أَﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ أَنْ أُ ْﺷ ِ َك ﺑِ َﻚ‬ that I associate any partner in You I seek refuge Ǥ ُ‫ َأَ ْﺳﺘَﻐْﻔِ ُ َك ﻟِ َﻤﺎ َﻻ أَﻋْﻠَﻢ‬،ُ‫َأَﻧَﺎ أَﻋْﻠَﻢ‬toYou Indeed I O Allah! (Al-Adab Al-Mufrad: 716) that I don’t know. for that (sins) and I beg pardon of You know it, while I Du’a to be steadfast (firm) in belief and Deen Ǥ‫ﻳَﺎ ُﻣﻘَﻠِّ َﺐ اﻟْﻘُﻠُ ْ ِب ﺛَﺒِّ ْﺖ ﻗَﻠْﺒِ ْﻰ ﻋَ ٰﲆ دِﻳْﻨِ َﻚ‬ (Tirmidhi: 3522) on Your religion. my heart Make the hearts! O the one who turns steadfast .‫ َﺻ ِّ ْف ﻗُﻠُ ْﺑَﻨَﺎ ﻋَ ٰﲆ َﻃﺎﻋَﺘِ َﻚ‬،‫اَ ﻣُ َﺼ ِّ َف اﻟْﻘُﻠُ ْ ِب‬ on Your obedience. our hearts Turn of hearts! the controller O Allah, (Muslim: 2655) ‫إِﻳْﻤَﺎﻧًﺎ‬ ‫أَﻋْ ِﻄﻨِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ ،‫َﺻﺎدِﻗًﺎ‬ (which is) true, a belief Grant me O Allah! 94

،ٌ ْ‫ﺑَﻌْ َﺪهٗ ﻛُﻔ‬ ‫َﻳَﻘِﻴْﻨًﺎ ﻟﻴْ َﺲ‬ any disbelief, after it (that there) is not ‫ﻧ َﺎ‬anَ ‫أ‬d a certainty Ǥِ‫َ َا َﻣﺘِ َﻚ ﻓِ ْﻰ اﻟﺪﻧْﻴَﺎ َا ْ ِﺧ َة‬ ‫ِ َﻬﺎ َﺷ َ َف‬ ُ ً‫َ ْﺣﻤَﺔ‬ ‫َو‬ and in the in this world the Honor of Your dignity through which I may and the hereafter. attain mercy This is a long Du’a approved by the Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬and he used to recite it in between Fardh & Sunnah of Salat-ul- Fajr. (Sahih Ibn Khuzaimah: 1054) Du’a to gain piety ‫ﻧَﻔْ ِﺴ ْﻰ‬ ‫ِت‬ َ‫ا‬ ‫ َوزَ ِّ َﻬﺎ‬،‫ﺗَﻘ َاﻫَﺎ‬ to my soul Grant me O Allah! and make it pure, ‫ أَﻧ َﺖ َﻟِﻴﻬَﺎ َﻣَ ْ َﻻﻫَﺎ‬،‫أَﻧ َﺖ َﺧﻴْ ُ ﻣَﻦ زَﰷﻫَﺎ‬Ǥ it's righteousness, (Muslim: 2722) and its protecting it's You are who makes it pure, are the You friend. guardian best alone ٰ‫اَ إِﻧِ ْﻰ أَ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ اﻟْﻬُ ٰﺪى َاﻟﺘﻘٰ َاﻟْﻌَﻔَﺎ َف َاﻟْﻐِﻨ‬Ǥ and self sufficiency and chastity and piety guidance I ask You Indeed I O Allah! (contentment). ‫اﻫْ ِﺪﻧِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ (Muslim: 2721) ،‫َ َﺳ ِّﺪدﻧِ ْﻰ‬ and set me right, Guide me ‫أَ ْﺳ‬ O Allah! Ǥَ‫اﻟْ ُﻬ ٰﺪى َاﻟﺴ َﺪاد‬ ‫َﻠُ َﻚ‬ ‫اَ إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ and adhering to the guidance I ask You Indeed I O Allah! straight path. ‫َﺣﺘ‬ ‫أَ ْﺧ َﺸﺎ َك‬ ‫اﺟﻌَﻠْﻨِ ْﻰ‬ َ‫ا‬ ‫(ﻛَﺄ َﻧِ ْﻰ‬Muslim: 2725) that I fear You Make me ،‫أَ َا َك أَﺑَ ًﺪا َﺣﺘ أَﻟْﻘَﺎ َك‬as if I O Allah! till (I reach a level) I meet You. till forever ‫ﻧِ ْﻰ‬se‫ﺪ‬eِ‫ﻌ‬Yo‫ْﺳ‬u َ‫َأ‬ ،‫َ َﻻ ُ ْﺸﻘِﻨِ ْﻰ ﺑِ َﻤﻌْ ِﺼﻴَﺘِ َﻚ‬ ،‫ﺑِﺘَﻘ َا َك‬ with Your and make me not with Your piety, and make me righteous disobedience, wretched ،‫َ ِﺧ ْﺮ ﻟِ ْﻰ ﻓِ ْﻰ ﻗَ َﻀﺎ ِ َﻚ‬ ،‫ﻓِ ْﻰ ﻗَ َﺪ ِ َك‬ ‫َﺑَﺎ ِ ْك ﻟِ ْﻰ‬ in Your destiny, and grant me blessings In Your decree, & select good for me 95

،‫ َ َﻻ َﺄْ ِﺧﻴْ َ ﻣَﺎ ﻋَﺠﻠْ َﺖ‬،‫َﺣﺘ َﻻ أُ ِﺣﺐ ﺗَﻌْ ِﺠﻴْﻞَ َﻣﺎ أَﺧ ْ َت‬ what You have delayed, what You have and not delay to have it in I do not like till haste ،‫ َأَ ْﻣﺘِﻌْﻨِ ْﻰ ﺑِ َﺴ ْﻤﻌِ ْﻰ َﺑَ َﺼ ِ ْى‬،‫َاﺟﻌَﻞْ ِﻏﻨَﺎ ِ ْﻰ ﻓِ ْﻰ َﻔْ ِﺴ ْﻰ‬hastened, my and by my sight, by my hearing and benefit me in my heart, contentment and make ،‫ َاﻧ ُﺼ ْﻧِ ْﻰ ﻋَ ٰﲆ ﻣَﻦ َﻇﻠَﻤَﻨِ ْﻰ‬،‫َاﺟﻌَﻠْﻬُ َﻤﺎ اﻟْ َا ِ َث ﻣِﻨِ ْﻰ‬ whoever oppressed me, against and help me from me, heir & make them both .‫ َأَﻗِ ﺑِ ٰﺬﻟِ َﻚ ﻋَﻴْﻨِ ْﻰ‬،‫َأَ ِﻧِ ْﻰ ﻓِﻴْﻪِ َﺄْ ِ ْى‬ my eyes. through it and cool in it my retaliation, and show me (Al-Mu’jam Al-Ausat: 6131) Du’a to seek Allah’s mercy and Love َ‫ا‬ ،‫ َ ُﺣﺐ َﻣ ْﻦ ِﺤﺒ َﻚ‬،‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ أَ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ ُﺣﺒ َﻚ‬ the one who loves You and the love of Your love I ask You Indeed I O Allah! ‫ اَ اﺟﻌَﻞْ ُﺣﺒ َﻚ‬.‫َاﻟْﻌَ َﻤﻞَ اﻟ ِﺬ ْى ﻳُﺒَﻠِّﻐُﻨِ ْﻰ ُﺣﺒ َﻚ‬ Your love Make O Allah! Your lo‫ ْﻰ‬veِ‫ﻠ‬. ْ‫َأَﻫ‬ make me reach that ‫أ َ َﺣﺐ‬and the deeds .ِ‫ِد‬ ‫اﻟْﺒَﺎ‬ ِ‫اﻟْ َﻤﺎء‬ ‫َﻣِ َﻦ‬ ‫إِﻟَﻰ ﻣِ ْﻦ ﻔْ ِﺴ ْﻰ‬ (Tirmidhi: 3490) cold water. and than ‫ا َ إ ِﻧِ ْﻰ أ َ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ‬and my family than myself to me more beloved ‫َ ْﺣ َﻤﺔً ِﻣ ْﻦ ِﻋﻨ ِﺪ َك‬ from near You the mercy I ask You Indeed I O Allah! ‫ َﺗَﺠ َﻤ ُﻊ ﺑِ َﻬﺎ‬،‫ﺑِ َﻬﺎ ﻗَﻠْﺒِ ْﻰ‬ ،‫َﺷﻤْﻠِ ْﻰ‬ by it and You assemble my heart, with it ‫ﺗَﻬْ ِﺪ ْى‬ ‫ َﺗَ ُد‬،‫ﺑِ َﻬﺎ َﺷﻌْﺜِ ْﻰ‬ my scattered tasks You guide ،‫ﺑِﻬَﺎ اﻟْﻐَﻰ‬ ‫َﺗَﻠُﻢ‬ the error, by it & You remove my dispersed affair by it and bring together ،‫ َﺗَ ْﺤﻔَ ُﻆ ﺑِ َﻬﺎ ﻏَﺎ ِﺒِ ْﻰ‬،‫َﺗُ ْﺼﻠِ ُﺢ ﺑِﻬَﺎ دِﻳْﻨِ ْﻰ‬ my hidden (tasks), by it and You my religion by it and You correct safeguard ،‫ﺑِ َﻬﺎ ﻋَﻤَﻠِ ْﻰ‬ ،‫َﺗَ ْﻓَ ُﻊ ﺑِﻬَﺎ َﺷﺎﻫِ ِﺪ ْى‬ ‫َﺗُ َﺰ ِّ ْﻰ‬ my deed by it and You purify my present (tasks) by it and You raise 96

،‫ َﺗُﻠْ ِﻬﻤُﻨِ ْﻰ ﺑِ َﻬﺎ ُ ْﺷ ِﺪ ْى‬،‫َﺗُﺒَﻴِّ ُﺾ ﺑِ َﻬﺎ َﺟ ِﻬ ْﻰ‬ by it and You  enlighten my guidance by it and You inspire me my face ‫َﺗَﻌْ ِﺼ ُﻤﻨِ ْﻰ‬ .ٍ‫ﻣِ ْﻦ ُ ِﰻّ ُﺳ ْء‬ ‫ﺑِ َﻬﺎ‬ from every evil. by it and You protect me This is a long Du’a approved by the Prophet SAS and he used to recite this in between Fardh & Sunnah of Salat-ul- Fajr. (Sahih ibn Khuzaimah: 1054) Du’a to receive all good in this world and all good in hereafter ُ‫اَ أَ ْﺻﻠِ ْﺢ ﻟِ ْﻰ دِﻳْﻨِ ْﻰ اﻟ ِﺬ ْى ﻫُ َﻮ ِﻋ ْﺼﻤَﺔ‬ the Protector which is my religion for me ‫ ْﺢ‬Sِ‫ﻠ‬et‫ ْﺻ‬rigَh‫َأ‬t ‫ْى‬O Aِ ll‫ْﻣ‬ahَ ‫!أ‬ ،‫ﻣَﻌَﺎ ِﺷ ْﻰ‬ ‫اﻟﺘِ ْﻰ ﻓِﻴْ َﻬﺎ‬ ‫دُﻧْﻴَﺎ َى‬ ‫ﻟِ ْﻰ‬ is my living, in which my world for me ‫َأ َ ْﺻﻠِ ْﺢ ﻟِ ْﻰ‬and set right of my affairs ،‫َﻣﻌَﺎدِ ْى‬ ‫ِﺧ َﺗِ ْﻰ اﻟﺘِ ْﻰ ﻓِﻴْ َﻬﺎ‬ is my return, in which my hereafter for me and set right ،‫َاﺟﻌَ ِﻞ اﻟْ َﺤﻴَﺎةَ ِﻳَﺎ َدةً ﻟِّ ْﻰ ﻓِ ْﻰ ُ ِﰻّ َﺧﻴْ ٍﺮ‬ in every good deed, to get more for me the life and make .‫َا َﺣﺔً ﻟِّ ْﻰ ﻣِ ْﻦ ُ ِﰻّ َﺷ ٍّﺮ‬ ‫َاﺟﻌَ ِﻞ اﻟْ َﻤ ْ َت‬ (Muslim: 2720) from every evil. relief for me ‫ﻠُ َﻚ‬thَ e‫ ْﺳ‬deَ ‫أ‬ath and make ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ ٖ‫ﻋَﺎ ِﺟﻠِﻪ‬ ،ٖ‫ُﳇِّﻪ‬ ‫ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟْ َﺨﻴْ ِﺮ‬ ‫اَﻟﻠ ُﻬﻢ‬ it's urgent part all of it, from the good I ask You Indeed I O Allah! ،ْ‫(ﻢ‬inَ ‫ﻠ‬tْ‫ﻋ‬hiَ s‫ أ‬wْ‫ﻢ‬orَ ‫ﻟ‬ld) ‫ َﻣﺎ ﻋَﻠِ ْﻤ ُﺖ ِﻣﻨْﻪُ َﻣَﺎ‬،ٖ‫َ ِﺟﻠِﻪ‬ ٖ‫ ﻋَﺎ ِﺟﻠِﻪ‬،ٖ‫َأ َﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟﺸ ِّﺮ ُﳇِّﻪ‬I did not know, & what from it what I knew and its late part (in the hereafter), and I seek refuge ،ْ‫ ﻣَﺎ ﻋَﻠِ ْﻤ ُﺖ ِﻣﻨْﻪُ َﻣَﺎ ﻟَﻢْ أَﻋْﻠَﻢ‬،ٖ‫َ ِﺟﻠِﻪ‬its urgent part (in this world) all of it, from the evil in You I did not know. & what ‫ﻟَ َﻚ‬frَ ‫ﺄ‬om‫ َﺳ‬it ‫َﻣﺎ‬ what I knew ‫أ َ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ‬and its late part (in the hereafter), ،‫ﻋَﺒ ُﺪ َك َﻧَﺒِﻴ َﻚ‬ ‫ِﻣ ْﻦ َﺧﻴْ ِﺮ‬ ‫اَ إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ and Your Your slave what asked from the good of I ask You Indeed I O Allah! Prophet, from You 97

.‫َأَﻋُ ْذُ ﺑِ َﻚ ِﻣﻦ َﺷ ِّﺮ َﻣﺎ ﻋَﺎذَ ﺑِﻪٖ ﻋَﺒ ُﺪ َك َﻧَﺒِﻴ َﻚ‬ and Your what is sought Prophet. Your slave from it refuge from the evil in You and I seek refuge ،‫ َ َﺧﻴْ َ اﻟﺪﻋَﺎ ِء‬،ِ‫(اﻟْ َﻤ ْﺴﺄ َﻟَﺔ‬Ibn Majah: 3846, Musnad Ahmad: 25533) َ ْ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ أَ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ َﺧﻴ‬ َ‫ا‬ and the best of the best of asking I ask You Indeed I O Allah! supplication, ،ِ‫ َ َﺧﻴْ َ اﻟْ َﺤﻴَﺎة‬،‫ َ َﺧﻴْ َ اﻟﺜ َا ِب‬،‫ َ َﺧﻴْ َ اﻟْﻌَ َﻤ ِﻞ‬، ِ ‫َ َﺧﻴْ َ اﻟﻨ َﺠﺎ‬ and the best of life and the best of reward, and the best of deeds and the best of success, ،‫ َ َﺣﻘِّﻖ إِﻳْ َﻤﺎﻧِ ْﻰ‬،‫ َﺛَﺒﺘَﻨِ ْﻰ َﺛَﻘِّﻞْ ﻣَ َا ِﻳْﻨِ ْﻰ‬،‫َ َﺧﻴْ َ اﻟْ َﻤ َﻤﺎ ِت‬ & make and make & make me my belief, firm my scales, heavy steadfast and the best of death, ‫ َاﻏْﻔِ ْﺮ‬،‫َﺻ َﻼﺗِ ْﻰ‬ ْ‫َﺗَﻘَﺒﻞ‬ ،‫َا ْﻓَ ْﻊ َد َ َﺟﺎﺗِ ْﻰ‬ and forgive my salah, and accept my ranks, and raise ،ِ‫اﻟﺪ َ َﺟﺎ ِت اﻟْﻌُ ٰﲆ ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟْ َﺠﻨﺔ‬ ‫َأَ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ‬ ،‫َﺧ ِﻄﻴْﺌَﺘِ ْﻰ‬ in [from] Paradise, (that are) high grades my sins, ‫أَ ْﺳ‬ and I ask You َ‫ا‬ ‫ﻓَ َاﺗِ َﺢ اﻟْ َﺨﻴْ ِﺮ‬ ‫َﻠُ َﻚ‬ ‫إِﻧِ ْﻰ‬ the good the openings of ٗ‫ﻟَﻪ‬ َ ‫ َأ‬I ask You ،ٗ‫َا ِﻣﻌَﻪ‬ Indeed I O Allah! ،ٗ‫َﺑَﺎ ِﻃﻨَﻪ‬ ٗ‫َ َﻇﺎﻫِ َه‬ ‫َ َﺟ‬ ٗ‫َ َﺧ َاﺗِﻤَﻪ‬ and it's hidden, and it's apparent and it's and its and its endings beginning comprehensive (aspects) .‫ ﻣِﻴْ َﻦ‬،ِ‫ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟْ َﺠﻨﺔ‬ ‫َاﻟﺪ َ َﺟﺎ ِت اﻟْﻌُ ٰﲆ‬ Ameen. (which are) high and the grades َ ْ‫ا َ إِﻧِ ْﻰ أَ ْﺳ َﻠُ َﻚ َﺧﻴ‬in the Heaven ،‫ﻣَﺎ ﺗِ ْﻰ‬ to which I come, the good I ask You Indeed I O Allah! ،‫ َ َﺧﻴْ َ ﻣَﺎ َ َﻄ َﻦ‬،ُ‫ َ َﺧﻴْ َ َﻣﺎ أَﻋْ َﻤﻞ‬،ُ‫َ َﺧﻴْ َ َﻣﺎ أَﻓْﻌَﻞ‬ what is hidden and the what I act upon, and the what I do, and the good of good of good of .‫ ِﻣﻴْ َﻦ‬،ِ‫ َاﻟﺪ َ َﺟﺎ ِت اﻟْﻌُ ٰﲆ ﻣِ َﻦ اﻟْ َﺠﻨﺔ‬،َ َ‫َ َﺧﻴْ َ َﻣﺎ َﻇﻬ‬ Ameen. in the heaven, (which are) and the ranks what is and the high apparent, good of 98
