Love Bridget Dear Bridget My life has completely changed over the last 14 months. I lost my job just before lockdown and then went on a spiral of change. Re-training into a different career, because my old career…well, I was just so over it and I didn’t need that constant humiliation and feeling of devastation of having done wrong each time I thought of it – all for one moment, £100 worth of wrong decision that took me down the route which cost me my job. Covid hit and the world as we new it changed too. So here I am, no income, no routine, no getting together with friends for coffee to help ease it all either. I see others diversifying with their businesses to make income whilst their regular jobs await their return probably better than before because now they have a new income stream too. Whilst mine just sits and stagnates – nothing happening. No diversification because nothing was there to diversify. I could go back out into the real world, but I’m so scared, I cry. Each time I think I will apply for this, that or some other, I remember I have to meet people – people who will want to know why I lost my job and it’s all still a bit too raw and I am still so devastated about it all. So, I crawl back into my comfort zone and remember why I wanted to try something new in the first place. I know I can make a go of it once lockdown is over and I can go out and meet people again..well..I hope I can, but am I just wasting my time. Do I just need to get over the past and back into employment? My husband says to relax, we will be fine on just his money until it all comes together and it’s not that I don’t trust him, its just I feel so lost! Anonymous Reply from Intention – Emily Papirnik From this letter what I see is an opportunity. So often it is a push that makes us change direction or pause to reflect and clearly your old career was not something that was fulfilling for you. I wonder if you would have moved without the push. There is never complete stagnation, there is always something changing within you and around you. You are showing vulnerability which is a high vibration energetically, this is a good thing. Look at the broader perspective regarding your old job, what happened has happened, have you learnt anything from it? My guess is definitely yes. Write down what you have learned, what you will now notice in yourself and others, what compassion you will now have for others who have gone through a similar scenario. Feel that compassion now give that to yourself. Think of the qualities you had that enabled the scenario to happen, I am thinking that those qualities are ones that you would want to still have and want to see in others. These times in our lives that devastate us in an instant are the ones that give us skills and understanding that will grow us into the people we were destined to become. Understand the bigger picture, be kind to yourself like you would to your best friend if they told you your story. You have the support of your husband to take the time to find the you that you feel is lost. Sit or walk and notice, listen and start to enjoy what is around you, get out into nature to balance yourself. Focus on the beauty and wonder in nature, take time that you have probably never had, enjoy it. The pressure you feel is from you, so choose not to put that on yourself. Feel Love in your heart and hope in your solar plexus for what is to come. In this strange time we are all living in start to remember who you really are and celebrate you!
