4. Be able to grow the use of social media for business purposes. 4.3 Engage with followers on social media in a manner appropriate for a business. 4.4 Monitor and promote published content through multiple social media channels. Name: Practical context & practice Activity 4.3 Engage with followers on social media in a manner appropriate for a business, can naturally flow into 4.4 Monitor and promote published content through multiple social media channels. We will explore “twitter” and “YouTube” due to the way they can provide us with business intelligence. Note: Remember twitter is fantastic at gathering so much intelligence, especially via tweetdeck. So post there to keep a “pulse” of what is going on! - and contrast that to other channels to get a fuller picture. YouTube is the 2nd biggest search engine in the world. It pays to put your video support content on there! - always add value! Evidencing your “Learning Outcomes” We will evidence the learning outcomes for both 4.3-4.4 in this ame eDoc/proforma (below) by taking screenshots. These screenshots relate to the “recipes” that follow in this document, mentioned in the “slides” and shared in the group. This time round, for these learning outcomes we will place our responses to each learning outcome under each recipe. You will place your screenshots under each recipe as indicated within each one. Recipe 1 (screen-shot evidence): 4.3 Engage with “followers” on social media in a manner appropriate for a business. Reminder: please have your “YouTube” & “twitter” ready. Recipe 1 steps: 1. In two separate browser tabs open: twitter.com and youtube.com- log in (if needed) 2. If you have been posting/uploading content and have had a “response” (like, share, comment) engage with that “follower” by making an appropriate business comment/response. 3. If you have not been growing your channels, I would suggest you “follow” each other 4. If you have not posted content I would suggest finding content related to your business, in the case of YouTube, your unlisted video (link) can be shared with the classroom group for commentary & response in YouTube. In relation to twitter, you can post something of business value (for your target audience) - and your classmates can comment. 5. Respond to your “followers” - who commented on your content 6. Screen capture your “engagement” for each of the two “channels” 4.3-4.4 engage followers and monitor - Activity | Learning Outcome (s) Page || 1 of 4

P.T.O - TO ADD SCREENSHOTS TO THIS RECIPE SECTION & DESCRIBE Part A: screenshots evidencing, and in support of: 4.3 Engage with followers on social media in a manner appropriate for a business (screenshots) [paste your screenshots you took for Recipe 1: Twitter & YouTube. Resize as required, and delete all this text in square brackets]. Part B: Purpose of your “engagement” (around your value added content) | Describe: 4.3 Engage with followers on social media in a manner appropriate for a business (describe below) [This is in response to recipe 1] Recipe 2 (screen-shot evidence): 4.4 Monitor and promote published content through multiple social media channels. This recipe focuses on “Monitor” - the next recipe (and last) - recipe 3 will look at “promote” (organically & free). Reminder: please have your “YouTube” & “twitter” ready. Recipe 2 steps: 1. In two separate browser tabs open: twitter.com and youtube.com- log in (if needed) 2. We want to access the “analytics” elements of each channel: twitter & YouTube. 3. On twitter: on the left hand side of the navigation find “more” -> “analytics (above “tweet”) 4. You will arrive at the analytics page, click on “tweets” to the right of home (two options to the right of the blue twitter bird). 5. You will see: “tweets”, “top tweets”, “tweets and replies” . This is the main way of monitoring (within twitter). However, twitter has the alternative tool “tweetdeck.twitter.com” which does not give you the numbers but provides the opportunity to “monitor”/”track”: users, keywords, hashtags, mentions, etc. 6. Screen capture your “analytics for twitter” 7. On YouTube: to access “analytics” click on the top-left, where you have your icon or initial (for your user name). 8. On the “drop down” list that pops up, click on “YouTube Studio” 3rd option 9. You will arrive at your “dashboard” (gives you snapshot & other data) - screen capture 10. Under your dashboard icon (left hand side, looks like a collage icon); 3rd down, you will see “analytics” - click on that, to show your analytics - screen capture, scroll down, if there is data there, then screen capture. 11. [paste your screenshots you took for Recipe 2: Twitter & YouTube (Monitor). Resize as required, and delete all this text in square brackets]. Part D: Purpose of your “monitoring” your social media channels [type in here the purpose of “monitoring” your social media channels, in terms of what helps your business positively, and how it also helps you avoid trouble - like negative review. This is in response to recipe 2] Recipe 3 (screen-shot evidence): 4.4 Monitor and p romote published content through multiple social media channels. This recipe focuses on “Promote” (organically & free). There are several strategies. However this recipe will show you a free and organic way which does not require any 3rd party tools. It looks at “cross promoting” along your other modes of communicating with your customers: We will focus on YouTube here, as twitter would require you to upload “content” yet again (without a 3rd party scheduling tool that integrates into twitter). This is too time consuming. See facebook group for “free” 3rd party tool way of “rescheduling” tweets. It is long winded and a bit technical. Reminder: please have your “YouTube” ready. Recipe 3 steps: 1. On YouTube: open: youtube.com- log in (if needed) 2. Go to your “YouTube studio” (reminder: top right - under your icon/name, 3rd down) 3. On your dashboard click on “videos” (under the dashboard icon) 4. Search or find the video you want to share 5. Place your mouse on top of the video 6. 5th icon that appears to the right of the video are three vertical dots 7. Click on the three vertical dots 8. Look for option 2 - “shareable link” in the pop up that appears, but don’t click it, instead... 9. Take a screenshot (using the “scrn” key on your laptop/pc - this puts it on your keyboard) 10. The image is copied on your clipboard. Paste it in “Part E” below and resize 11. Then come back and (repeat from step 5, but this time actually click on the “shareable link option). 12. The link is copied to your clipboard 4.3-4.4 engage followers and monitor - Activity | Learning Outcome (s) Page || 3 of 4
