Medical-legal partnerships have been used by social justice-oriented medical, health, social and legal service practices to identify and address legal issues that create barriers to treatment, care, and recovery for a number of health conditions. Until recently, however, there has been no demonstrated evidence-based medical-legal partnership intervention package for improving HIV continuity of care.

THE GOAL OF ORGANIZATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS FOR HEALTHY LIVING (OPAHL) IS TO HELP HEALTH CARE ORGANIZATIONS ESTABLISH MEDICAL-LEGAL PARTNERSHIPS WITH A FOCUS ON ORGANIZATIONS THAT SERVE PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV (HEREIN REFERRED TO AS PLWH).

This training consists of nine sessions that will lead to the development of an MLP for improving HIV continuity of care in health care organizations that previously did not provided legal services.
